Have been wanting a PA for a while. Lot of shops in the area that don't want to do genital piercings anymore. Found Lone Star Tattoo through a Yelp search and read through their reviews. Called the shop for some more information and was lucky enough to get their piercing guy on the phone. Matt is awesome. Chill, knowledgeable, makes sure to cover all the info you need both before and after. In spite of a larger than average circumcision scar, the placement is great and it was far less painful than I expected. Definitely going back to work with Matt again. And don't let the shop appearance fool you. Yeah, it's clear they need to expand into a larger location. Aside from some "clutter", everything you would expect from a good piercer is happening. Well, the soda machine doesn't work, and it would be awesome to have a touch screen game like they do at the bars. But, this is a tattoo shop, not a "kiss my ass and sweet talk me while I guzzle Soda and play video games" shop.. it is a "get a badass tattoo" shop. Came in as a walk in, even played the "I want this flash barbed wire and butterfly armband" game and despite that, everyone was super cool. Got with Justin, threw some ideas and specific instructions at him "anchor, compass, fill up as much leg as you can, add in whatever shit you want", left to ear, came back to a badass tattoo sketch and rocked out a few hours until the shop closed. Healed up, couple more hours to drop in the color, good to go. Not cheap, but not expensive. Know what you want, take care of your tattoo properly, and don't be a dick, and this will be a good shop for you. You want people to kiss your ass, go to the spa. Tip: take cash. Some dumb plano rule requires sales tax on credit card purchases. read more

I called to get a price for a septum and to see if it was okay for me to do a walk-in. Rob answered the phone and he was really nice and had a really nice phone voice. I was able to do a walk-in, when I arrived I was greeted and helped immediately!! Everybody was really friendly, and Matt the piercer was AMAZING!! Matt made sure that the piercing was symmetrical before he stuck the needle in my nose. Matt went over after care instructions, which he went over very throughly. He even taught me how to tuck my piercing, so I can hide it at work!! The best part after the piercing was done he gave me a LOLLIPOP!! I went to Lone Star after two other tattoo shops in the area (who's name I won't mention) "tried" to overcharge me! I have over 20 tattoos all done on the east coast and pretty familiar with prices for certain size/detailed work. Recently, I wanted a few small pieces to fill in some extra space on my arms and Waylon was available when I walked in the shop, although he had a client he was in the middle of tattooing. Waylon was a friendly guy, gave me a fair price and was able to do this work later that evening. Since then, I've returned for two additional pieces of work and brought my gf for several pieces and Waylon is efficient and doesn't try to overcharge or schedule you 2-3 months later like some other shops do. Waylon did a black and gray piece on my gf that was very detailed and realistic with good shading and straight lines. Looks like I've found myself my "TX tattoo artist" and will get additional work done as new ideas come to mind! lol Thanks again Waylon!! read more

I was given contact information for a couple of artists and after looking at their work I decided to email Andrea about a consultation. She was very quick to respond and was extremely nice during the consultation. I made an appointment with her and emailed her an image of what I wanted. Appointment day went great! I do NOT post negative reviews but I have a lot to say about my piercings. I usually get my piercings from the pin cushion but I went here for my two flats. I have 11 piercings total and the piercings I got after my flats are healing just fine. they're always red and even tho I take good care of them they just aren't getting better. they're also crooked and going into the ear at different angles which is hard to see in the picture. i'm also confused bc I wanted them on the side of my ear where it slants but matt told me that a hoop wouldn't be big enough to fit around that, while these seem pretty far if not further. nonetheless I love the look and i'll be really disappointed if I have to eventually take them out bc they were $50 each but it's been about three months since I got them and they're not healing right. matt was really nice and friendly but I will not be coming here for my piercings again. read more

They are professional and extremely knowledgeable but not in a pretentious or pompous way but in a more laid-back, super chilled way. I usually go there to get my tattoos done by Milan (I'll tell you how great she is later) but I went there for a botched ear piercing, Matt took a look at it told me everything I should do to properly treat the forming keloid around the piercing and my ear is looking great within less than a week of going there. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the girl who is always at the front handling paperwork, but she also looked at my piercing when I went back for a follow-up and she was helpful , she is always friendly too ! Waylon Brent Harp did an amazing job here, and I had a great experience in getting my tribute tattoo put on my arm at Lone Star Tattoo. Scott Cooksey started the design, and Waylon was able to finalize and finish what I had envisioned for this tattoo. Both artists are amazing, and I could not be happier with what Waylon did. He was very professional, clean, and just kept it relaxing for my four hour session. I am a survivor of the Route 91 Las Vegas Concert shooting that took place on October 1, 2017, and went back in to help injured get out to safety and medical attention, while being fired down upon. It was a very scary, tragic, and sad night, and this tattoo pays tribute to those 58 poor people that were shot and killed that night, my Guardian Angel that protected me from being shot with as many times as I ran back in to carry people out, and to honor those brave people with me that all turned back to help the injured get out. I have been getting piercings for 6 years now and this was the worst experience of my life. I left crying. The piercer hurt me by trying to get my neck dermal back into position. I got shamed for getting the neck dermal at another tattoo place. He was going to charge me $25 to help me stick my dermal back through. He kept hurting me when I said that hurts and didnt tell me what he was doing to my piercing on the back of my neck. I can not believe my experience. The manager said maybe you caught him at a bad time. What does that mean, like I get bad service if he doesnt feel like giving me good experience. OMG. I am still in shock. Everything was unprofessional and I hope no one goes to get pierced there after they see this review.
