I have eaten here on many occasions since the new owner took over and I love this place. From fresh squeezed orange juice to their chicken fried steak or breakfast they are first class. The staff is friendly and attentive. The place has the vibe of an old country diner. It is extremely clean and well maintained. Ummmmm yes!!!! My husband had the chicken fried chicken and the breading of the chicken was amazing and it was a large chicken. The portions are large. I had the Farm skillet and that to did not disappoint! The biscuits are homemade so make sure you get those! Customer service was fantastic and they had great coffee. read more

Tried Migas and Eggs Benedict and both not good. Migas had soggy tortilla strips and eggs in Benedict were hard boiled!

Been here two other times before and had great service and really liked the food. Today was HORRIBLE! Place was busy but the food was coming out at a decent pace. Except for our table. Took over 15 minutes, after being seated, to get a waitress to take our orders (there were 3 of us). So that's when it got worse. We sat for over 30 minutes before our waitress let us know that the food was close to coming out. That was a lie, because after another 30 minutes we asked her again about the food. And that's after several tables in her area got their food, for people who came in after us. She said that the food was just being cooked. We told her to forget the food and that we were leaving. She at least apologized to us on our way out. read more

The food and service was great. However, they are misleading in their Covid protocols. The staff DOES NOT wear masks. There was no sanitizing between tables and the staff all touch the same ordering computer system and do not sanitize between. Despite the restaurant owners association recommendation, this restaurant doesn't care about the recommendation. My husband and I are vaccinated but are still concerned about the spread of the virus. read more

We were so excited to see this restaurant open because breakfast restaurants in the Rockwall Rowlett area are not that common unless they are franchise owned. This is a great addition to the community. It serves both Rockwall and Rowlett nicely. Now about the food: Arzi, the owner is hands own with her staff and her customers. She does a great job of making it feel like the neighborhood hangout or go to place for brunch/lunch. The service is fast and the waitresses are good at what they do. In my opinion her chicken fried steak will quickly become recognized as the best in the state and I am not a huge fan of chicken fried steak. My family who do love a great chicken fried steak are in total agreement. Her breakfast dishes are great in proportion, flavor and taste. We now eat there at least once a week. Be sure to try her cheesecake. Oh my gosh, the texture and taste are fantastic. She will surprise the customers with a daily dessert special and she never disappoints. read more

We've enjoyed this local, consistent restaurant with old hometown feel for a couple of years. Portions are bigger than average, options are appreciated, staff is friendly and coffee is hot and delicious. What a great restaurant! I am visiting from California and lived in Texas for 15 years. I'm not only a cook, but know good Texas bbq! The food here was delicious, very filling and the service: Amanda is one of the most gracious and attentive hosts. My party of 4 had breakfast and lunch items. So everything was superb. First time coming here since the old diner closed. We walk in and there is a young male and female at the register. They look like they are trying to figure something out (paperwork). Not once does anyone say, "hey we'll be with you in a moment", or some kind of acknowledgement. It takes a busy waitress to say something to them. She says, "Hey, we've got people that need to be seated." Not once does the guy or girl look up to acknowledge the waitress. What seemed out of frustration she seats us and hands us our menu and takes our drink order. The place was busy, however it took about 10 mins for someone to take our order. I ordered breakfast with dry wheat toast and light hash browns. I received buttered toast and overcooked hash browns. My father ordered two over medium eggs and received a busted cooked eggs, though the server quickly fixed the mistake, food shouldn't have come out to us like that. Also my ham was lukewarm and my dad's bacon was cold. Bad experience altogether. Won't be coming back. read more

Second time around: We had breakfast here for New Years Day. I was pleasantly surprised, both the service and food were quite good. A wonderfully breaded and reasonably well tenderized chicken fried steak served with real mashed potatoes. Also a perfectly seasoned bacado omelette with hollandaise. Cannot say enough about this place and the way they run their business...first the food is very good, the atmosphere has that small town feel...like a diner, obviously...but more importantly the integrity of the ownership and management. I frequent this restaurant monthly on a few occasions...most days there are no issues with speed of service etc, but on a recent holiday they were short staffed and their service was slow due to this...it was a tough day for the management staff to say the least. But let me say this...yes on that day the food was slower than normal, but the owner comped our meal when they really did not have to do that...I will continue to be a happy, paying customer at Lonestar...not because of a free meal, but because of integrity to service their customers. Finally! Rockwall has a great diner/cafe! We went here for lunch and the food was outstanding (and we're tough critics). The chicken fried chicken is some of the best we've had. Their from scratch ranch dressing was also some of the best we've had. Great biscuits and gravy. Creamy, delicious mashed potatoes. Everything we had was delicious. Just ate there for the 2nd time and it was not a good experience at all. I ordered exactly the same thing as I did the first time (which was excellent). This time my sunny side up eggs came out almost raw. The whites had a layer of uncooked egg floating on top of the cooked portion. I thought it must be my imagination and tried to eat it. It was definitely uncooked to the point that it was cold. When I spoke with the waitress she asked how I had ordered them. I told her sunny side up but that they were barely cooked. She proceeded to tell me that sunny side up eggs are supposed to be runny. I told her that I had eaten 100's of eggs and that these were definitely grossly undercooked and that I was not looking for an argument. Finally after trying to convince me she offered to have new eggs cooked, which I declined. All I wanted in the first place was for her to say, "sorry about that, we will correct it". Instead she treated me like I was an idiot. Second and last time to eat there. read more
