Just as an update, my experiences here continue to be fantastic. The ambience is just superb. The food is a very good southern food comfort and I love the waitress service every time I come it's beyond astounding. We just wanted to thank the owner for the remarkable program she has here and making the Restaurant a staple for Rockwall is definitely a an improvement for our community.

5 Stars - Small Town Charm, Big Time Comfort Food Walking into Lonestar 66 Café feels like stepping into your grandma's kitchen--if your grandma had a knack for deep-frying zucchini to perfection and making biscuits that taste like a warm hug. Also, if your grandma was surrounded by a bunch of bearded men who look like they just finished chopping wood but are actually here for pancakes. We rolled in on a Saturday morning, a party of four, ready to conquer breakfast like true weekend warriors. The place has that cozy, small-town feel where you half expect to see a cowboy sipping coffee and debating the weather with a neighbor. And every single man in there? Rocking a strong, manly beard. We're talking full, glorious beards that say, "I could build a log cabin before lunch, but right now I'm just here for some French toast." Now, the food: Fried Zucchini - Absolute perfection. The breading-to-veggie ratio was so on point that even my husband, who avoids fried food like it's his ex, actually liked them. If you typically enjoy fried zucchini, don't hesitate--just order it. Chicken Strips - Solid, good quality, but in hindsight, I wish I had branched out more. Not that they were bad--just a missed opportunity for more deliciousness. (Rookie mistake on my end.) Pancakes - Cute and delicious. Yes, I'm calling pancakes cute. They just had that fluffy, golden-brown, "take a picture before you eat me" vibe. French Toast with Bacon & Butter - No notes. Perfection. Side Salad with Ranch - The ranch deserves its own fan club. I'd dip my fingers in it if no one was watching. Hash Browns, Eggs, Biscuits - All the breakfast staples done right. But the biscuits? Oh, honey. They are the fluffy, buttery stuff of dreams. If I could legally marry a biscuit, I'd be sending out wedding invitations. The staff was super friendly and took great care of us--like that nice aunt who always makes sure your plate is full at family gatherings. Bottom line: We're already planning our next visit because there's so much more to try. If you love good food, great service, and biscuits that could solve world problems--and if you appreciate a solid beard--get yourself to Lonestar 66 Café ASAP.

Breakfast and lunch diner in downtown Rockwall We love it here .. everything is so good Soups, sandwiches, Benedict's, chicken and tuna salads, pumpkin pancake season is the best! Gets busy in weekend mornings but well worth the wait 5 star everything Just know the kitchen closes at 2:30 not 3!!

Ultimate Berry Power Bowl is very delicious! Love the crunchy cinnamon pecans!

Thank you, #Kara! Our first visit was wonderful! We enjoyed our delicious breakfast!

My wife and I REALLY wanted to like this place. We heard good things about it. When we showed up, it was really crowded and had a really nice "local" vibe. The staff was very friendly, and the service was quick. The problems were with the food. While the portions were huge, nothing tasted good at all. My omelet was greasy, the pancakes were gummy, and the upsell maple syrup tasted more like some bargain brand syrup that never saw the inside of a tree. The good news is the OJ was freshly squeezed, and for $9 a glass that's what I would expect. My wife was equally unimpressed with her meal, and I'll leave it for her to tell you about it in her review.

We went on a Sunday at 8:30 and it was perfect. No wait but just started to get busy. The people were so nice and you could tell they enjoyed being there. It's a big but small place and very nice. The food was fantastic and we got it super quick. The meat lovers omelette was so full of meat like crazy full it's totally worth it. The avocado toast was nice and fresh. Definitely a place you should try for breakfast

Love the tables. New place in Rockwall.

I saw this new place on Yelp in old Rockwall. The reviews have been good and I see why. We arrived after lunch for a late breakfast. We were seated with care and our waitress made sure we had a clean table before hand. My wife had coffee and the Texas Breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage & pancakes. Nothing crazy mind you but it was all cooked just right. I had the Texas omelet, add jalapeños with grits and toast which I enjoyed very much. Our waitress Amber did a great job! We'll be back as the menu covers all the mealtimes and we feel like we found a burgeoning jewel!

Came out to Rockwall to see what this diner was about for brunch! Wasn't expecting to be served fresh orange juice with the best biscuits in gravy on this side of Texas lol. Biscuits were fluffy and soft with a great texture and the gravy was great The chicken fried steak was awesome breading was perfect and not hard but still crunchy.

Very busy on early Sunday morning, and very popular after Church services. The Lone Star 66 Cafe survived the lock downs to become a Rockwall Hotspot for dining. All types of food here: Southern, Texas, Tex-Mex, or "Healthy Ideas". Hmmm.. what wasn't healthy? So, I tried the Health Olympic Scrambler omelet about 10 days ago, and it was a light, Fluffy, and tasty breakfast, not a hint of grease. Today, I chose to test the kitchen by ordering the Salmon Eggs Benedict, and the passes with flying colors! The Salmon filet slices were more generous than I had imagened. The Hollandaise sauce had good flavor & texture. The Lone Star 66 Cafe in Rockwall, TX knows their business. I'm full, and I'm happy.

The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully curated without trying too hard. The service was top-notch. Attentive and friendly server -- you can tell they care about every guest's experience. And the food... wow. By far some of the greatest Italian dishes we've had -- and that's saying a lot because we've traveled all over Europe. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients and pride. If you appreciate delicious, high-quality food and a charming atmosphere, this place is a must. We will absolutely be back!

We were roaming around the old courthouse Square downtown and stumbled upon this jewel. The atmosphere is really laid-back cool and their prices are quite fair. We split the bruschetta salad.. it was HUGE!! Very fresh with a wonderful, light dressing. The cheesy bread that comes with this salad is very good. Interestingly, it is served under the salad. For our entrée, we split the meatball lasagna. Again, a huge single portion, so splitting it was perfect. We have many terrific restaurants around us - Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake. However, this was one of the finest Italian meals we have had anywhere, including Little Italy in Boston. Everything was so flavorful and hearty. The garlic toast served with the lasagna was also excellent. By the way, the old-fashioned with Makers Mark bourbon was superb as well. Based on our first-time experience, there is nothing NOT to like about this establishment. I just wish the portions weren't so generous so that we might have had room for the coconut cream pie. BTW, Hailey is an excellent server.

Saturday night dinner at Belle Vie Bistro was very nice! I honestly would give it about 4.5 stars,…read morenot a 5, as that implies perfection. But they are definitely making the effort to deserve respect. First, we were seated promptly and our server was very responsive, so much so that we hadn't even had a moment to peruse the wine menu before she arrived. I would recommend that the servers be trained to bring water and the bread and butter without asking in order to offer the guests a chance to settle in for a moment. (Fresh french bread and good butter, by the way. I don't usually indulge in that, but I had 2 slices.) And if a guest asks to sample a wine, the answer is always "Yes." They are going to order wine, they just don't know if it will be that one. Both my wife and I started with side salads, which were great. Very fresh greens, and dressings that were obviously made in-house and delicious (awesome lemon vinaigrette on the bistro salad and a truly great Caesar dressing.) I should mention that their wine selection is made up of good labels you probably drink regularly, with a few neat additions that are worth a try. My wife ordered the grilled salmon cooked to her preference, and it was served that way. She really liked the lemon sauce with which it was served, along with risotto and al dente veggies including squash, zucchini and carrots (well seasoned.) I had the duck confit, and it too, was very good. Mashed potatoes made in house (again, well seasoned) with the same grilled vegetables. I appreciate many things about this restaurant. Frankly, I don't understand why it wasn't packed. The lighting is nice, the music is just perceptible so as not to be intrusive. The service is very attentive, and the food is really good. The price point is reasonable. The most expensive meal on the menu is about $35, but they offer plenty of great options for less. Having written a brunch review for this restaurant before on Google, I noticed that they take the input from their clients seriously, and I appreciate that. This is a place that is putting in the work, and it shows. I forgot to mention that they have a barista on staff even in the evenings, and pastries that are made by an actual French pastry chef (I indulged in the Croissant Aux Aumandes on our previous visit, and it is absolutely legit.) Parking on the square in Rockwall can be an issue, and Belle Vie is in the middle of the block, so maybe it is somewhat overlooked, but it is definitely worth a visit. I'll be going back pretty soon for the lamb at dinner time. I also want to try their French onion soup and French dip. You should go. You won't be disappointed.
