When you walk in the first thing that grand you is the aroma. The kitchen immediately behind the counter. Coffee that doesn't taste like the typical stuff at other places. The menu is extensive but laid out perfectly. Yes at first it seems a tad convoluted, but as you peruse it shows you all the amazing options it has to offer. I tried to stop there after a late doctor appointment approximately 2:45 PM. It looked dark with few cars but the owners brother outside assured me they were open,so I entered the establishment. Met with my sisters for a quick breakfast, even with construction right out front the parking lot was full. They have a really nice menu with kids and senior selections available at very reasonable prices. I had coffee and eggs Benedict for under $10. This is a fast, friendly, basic diner experience! We prefer to eat here over the breakfast chains around town when we can. I can't remember the waitress's name, but she is there every time we go and works hard to serve everyone with correct orders and friendly service. You cannot beat the value either. This place is a hidden gem and I LOVE it!! The food here is amazing and the prices are VERY friendly compared to your other breakfast chain restaurants. The place is quite small and they have a bar top where you can sit as well. Staff members are very friendly and always smiling, really great service. I've ordered the Country fried Steak and the Big Diner Breakfast, both are GREAT dishes with a huge potion size. When I come back here again, I'll try to remember to take a picture lol. read more

Love a good hole in the wall small business. The place is a bit homey and not the cleanest, but the price is cheap for a lot of food. We ordered multiple things Since it's a relatively small place it was pretty busy and full during Sunday brunch but we were seated immediately. The table wasn't set up with utensils completely yet. You pretty much just sit where is open and pay at the register. A lot of the items came out fresh in a reasonable amount of time. I would avoid the scrambled egg dishes because they were rubbery. The coffee was unlimited but tasted questionable. They did got the extra mile and toasted the biscuits and tortillas extra so they were very hot when they came out. All the dishes came a hash browns/home fries and toast/biscuit/English muffin. A very good deal so I would go back and try more things at prices I don't feel guilty about. I was visiting Dallas, Tx with some family and we were recommended this place for breakfast. There was a lot of parking, the Diner itself felt home-y because it feels like you in a house. The staff was super sweet, interacted with my 4 year old nephew and they were very attentive. The food came out fairly quickly. I got the country fried steak with biscuits and it was amazing. The biscuits were lightly pan fried on one side with made it so good when I put butter on them. Overall a good experience. I came here on a Saturday morning at around 9am and it was packed. I didn't have to wait long to be seated. I ordered 1 pancake with strawberries and bananas and whip cream. I got a side of hash browns and 1 biscuit n gravy. Hash browns were 3.5 stars. The biscuit n gravy ( 2 stars) was the worst part of my breakfast. The gravy lacked flavor and the biscuit didn't seem be homemade. It was really firm and dry. The pancake with strawberries and bananas was delicious ! I would give it 4 stars for sure. We went to Mesquite Diner II and we came there it was a small broken down business. Me and my wife thought that some of the small restaurant are awesome so we went there.. well it was wrong all levels.. the waitress was smelled like alcohol (probably Mad dog 20/20) and she was rude. I ordered a mushroom omelette and it took 20 minutes. I ate about 1/3 of the omelette and it was aweful. I did not tried to eat the hash browns.. even the diet coke was flat.. I would say zero (0). I don't want to be the only one saying please and thank you and excuse me. My server should be doing that as well. I have mixed reviews because the low stars aren't for the food. I would like to start off by saying you've read the bad reviews, and they do not reflect what I see right now. First of all, the restaurant is not dirty and unkept. There are people of all nationalities in this restaurant and as far as I can tell everyone is being treated with the utmost respect. I do have one complaint about this place, and they have a few lights out, but I'm not going to let that influence my review...being cheeky as a joke. I had the New York strip with eggs, potatoes and biscuits. The New York strip was cooked medium as requested, it was juicy and flavorful not oily. The eggs 3 cooked over medium and perfecly done, whites done, yellows runny. Potatoes were cooked to a light golden brown and the sauteed onions really complemented the home fries. The biscuits, how can I describe the clouds of light gentle and cloud perfection. I would have to say that the gravy was the biggest surprise, most places it's either too thick, too thin or just not flavorful. The gravy was perfect, just like home. My wife had scrambled eggs and stuffed hash browns, wow it was delicious and I'm not even a fan of hash browns. So basically for $27 and some change, we got a lot of food. My biggest surprise was how thick the strip was and how delicious it was for such a small Mom and Pop Style Diner. The coffee was never ending. Even my wife, who never drinks black coffee, said it tasted good enough to drink without cream and sugar. I love local spots and I want to love this place but I felt it was just okay at best. They do have a very large menu which would definitely cater to a variety of tastes, but I think they should stick to some down home basics that you would expect to find at a diner. We walked in and the place has a dated feel to it. The artwork consisted of an Elvis tapestry, a Mona Lisa drawing and various other sketches and oil paintings. Nothing seemed cohesive. We were not really greeted as we walked in so much as waved to be seated. We noticed that they did not have any ability to accommodate a large party, most tables could only seat four at best. We ordered the Senior Sampler which came with one egg, one buttermilk pancake, one crispy bacon strip and one pork sausage link for $3.99. I substituted the sausage for some ham and they literally gave me a strip of ham. I also just realized as I was looking back at the description of the sampler, that neither of us got a pancake. We did ask for our bacon to be crispy and the ham well done but the hash browns were also well done. A little too crispy for my tastes. The service overall was fine but definitely could have been friendlier from the get go. I'm not sure that we'd intentionally go back although the prices were very inexpensive. read more
