Late review... We attended opening night on June 6 to see Snoop Dogg. Going into it, I fully expected everything to be a hot ass mess. It was the first concert, the parking situation sounded horrible, and honestly, it seemed like they rushed to get the amphitheater ready for opening night. My husband and I decided to Uber instead of doing the $50 "park and ride the shuttle" option, which I later heard was a complete nightmare. I can only imagine because just driving into the area was a mess. You have concert traffic, Queen Mary traffic, AND Carnival Cruise Terminal traffic all trying to get into the same area. Whew! Surprisingly, security and check-in were quick and easy. No crazy lines, so that was definitely a plus. Once inside, there were several food trucks. I expected long food lines, so that didn't bother me. What DID bother me were the prices. Straight. Highway. Robbery. A burger and fries was $30!!! And for $30, I expected that burger to change my life. Nope. Dry burger and basic fries. Then there are the bathrooms. Portable toilets. They have the nicer restroom trailers...and then the OG porta-potties. Either way, I'm not a fan. Just gross. Now, the actual concert was GREAT! Snoop put on a good show, the sound system was fine, and the views of Downtown Long Beach are beautiful, especially once the sun goes down. We sat pretty close to the stage and had a great view, but honestly, the venue is small enough that I don't think there's really a bad seat. Overall, I'm glad we checked it out for opening night and got to experience the new venue. Would I go back? Probably not. Between the traffic, parking situation, overpriced food, and portable bathrooms, I'm good. I'll stick with my favorite outdoor concert venue, The Hollywood Bowl. read more

Brand new outdoor music venue on the shoreline of downtown Long Beach's busy marina! A very cool experience of enjoying good music, surrounded by other music heads, with the iconic Queen Mary to the right of the stage. This is a nice place to bring an out-of-town friend for a quintessential California experience or a fun night out with a loved one to marvel at all of the lights and stars alike. They have food trucks that sell Mexican & soul food in the mid 20s price range and sell simple cheeseburgers (reminded me of a McDonald's cheeseburger), hot dogs, & drinks along with canned beers, wine, & cocktails in a cup if you're feeling saucy for under $20. They lose two stars for the lack of organization in both getting guests in and out of the floor seating area and navigating the pick up area for Lyfts & Ubers (as there is no parking available). From what we heard from our Lyft driver, there is a shuttle that can take you to the venue from some point in downtown, so that is worth looking into, but definitely requires planning ahead. The whole arriving and leaving of it all was very confusing and disorganized by the venue. For example, when we made our way to the floor seat entrance there was a gate blocking off entry in order to accurately check people's tickets and confirm that they were where they needed to be. I was in a group of about 60 people coming in and only two workers checking tickets, looking overwhelmed and scrambled. This all while others were trying to get out and visit the bathroom or get more drinks in between sets. There was no space for others to leave while some came in so we had to stop entering until about 100 people walked out first. There was no line for entry, people were just pushing to be first and the poor workers needed way more support than what they were receiving. Owners & admin need a better system created and implemented, fast. Similarly, when leaving the concert there was no signage as to where to go or stand to be picked up by a driver. There was only ONE worker who was yelling telling us where to go and it changed six times while we waited for our Lyft to pick us up. First it was, across the street, then "walk down", ten minutes later "further down", then "everybody needs to be up here". At one point, we were literally walking in between a sea of cars to move up. It felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. This could be fixed with a clearer, tighter, and more organized system. Workers definitely needed more support as well - a system, signage, and more workers to delegate the tasks. Overall, I had a great time and if I see that another artist I love is returning to this venue I will definitely be coming back as you can get closer seats for the same price as a nosebleed seat at the Hollywood bowl, albeit further of a drive. Attended for the first time to watch Jacks Mannequin, Something Corporate, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness! It was my first time here and this is my honest opinion. We parked in a parking lot for about $15 all day. We walked across the street to a pub, enjoyed our time, then walked five minutes to the Ferris Wheel where a shuttle was waiting to bring us across the bridge. We paid (beforehand) about $15 a person to utilize the shuttle to the concert and to take us back to the same drop off spot. You are NOT allowed to park near the actual venue, unless you have VIP or some extra special access pass. If you happen to drive across the bridge to the venue, you will be forced to turn around. Is this tedious? Yes. Can you actually walk it? Yes, but it will take 30 minutes. Can you avoid the $15? Yes, if you book the shuttle days prior, it will only be $10. Yet, the views were magnificent under the stars and seeing the Queen Mary behind the stage was fantastic. I enjoyed the outdoor concert and enjoyed the ocean air, too. The drinks were plentiful and their restrooms were very, very clean. I believe this type of venue is nice if you know the information and are able to preplan. If you come, without doing your research, it would be very frustrating. The experience and location is very much worth the time and effort. Pricing, a bit too much though. This was the inaugural year of this amphitheater and is currently called the Farmers & Merchants Bank Amphitheater. Parking was offered at the Pike Outlet Shops and another lot on the south side of Shoreline Drive. Our group of 8 arrived after 6 pm so parking was free. We crossed Shoreline Drive and walked ten minutes to catch the shuttle (purchase online) which dropped us off directly at the venue which is next to the Queen Mary. The venue is great, since I had views of downtown Long Beach and the Queen Mary. Maximum capacity is 11,000 and accessibility to our seats, restrooms and catering truck's was convenient. The bands that performed were the Romantics, Christopher Cross and Toto. I was impressed with the sound system and all the live performances. Exiting the concert was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at the F & M Bank Amphitheater and would definitely return here in the future. read more

I came here for the first time to see Luke Bryan, and overall, I had a really good experience! The venue was the perfect size it felt big enough to have that exciting concert atmosphere without feeling overly crowded. The seats weren't too close together either, which made the experience more comfortable. The overall environment was really nice, especially being so close to the water. It was definitely cold, but I actually loved the atmosphere and the views. The Queen Mary being nearby was also really cool, and parking honestly wasn't as bad as I expected. The food and drinks were good, and security was very attentive and did a great job making sure everyone and everything was where it needed to be. My biggest complaint would definitely be the pricing. I've been to quite a few different venues for concerts, and this was probably one of the most expensive. A single beer was basically $40, which is honestly insane to me. I definitely wasn't expecting that kind of pricing. The other thing that was frustrating was the exit. There's basically one main exit, so when everyone is leaving at the same time, it gets VERY hectic and crowded. I think having multiple exits would make leaving much easier. Besides those things, I really enjoyed the venue and the overall environment. I'd definitely come back for another concert I'd just make sure I'm prepared for those drink prices! read more

My daughter, son-in-law, wife, and I attended the Toto-Christopher Cross-Romantics concert at the Long Beach Amphitheater on 8/14/2026. We got to the concert with no problem, enjoyed the 3 act 4+ hour show, and walked back. It was a long night...way past my wife and my bedtime...but we had a good time. The opening of the Amphitheater was June 6 of this year. The only act coming that we had interest was Christopher Cross, so bought 2 tickets through Stubhub pretty early, ended up paying about double the face value ($211 for 2 tickets), though did get back $150 in credits from CSR and 2% back from Rakuten. Wasn't able to verify that Stubhub intentionally raises the prices for people using the Saphire Reserve card and/or Rakuten, though it wouldn't surprise me. Later bought 2 more tickets directly from Ticketmaster (total cost $101.30) and chose seats right next to us (so it hadn't sold out about a month before). This was in Section 306, which still provided a good view though far back. They used the old parking lot of the Queen Mary to put up this temporary structure: It can seat 11,000 people. Easy parking was not the primary consideration when the powers-that-be chose this location, and why I think the reviews will continue to be very negative since the nearest parking lot is probably 1.2 miles away and there is no ongoing good shuttle service. Instead you have to buy a round-trip shuttle that takes you from the parking lot in DTLB to the venue. We live in DTLB so parking wasn't an issue. I did do a fair amount of research on the best way to get there and back, and settled on taking the free Passport bus (runs twice an hour) near our place to a drop-off close to the venue. This worked perfectly, as our onboard stop was towards the beginning of the route and had empty seats. By the time we got to the venue, the bus was standing room only. We arrived about 1 hour before start time (they opened the gates at 5:15, about 90 minutes before start time). They had lockers to put non-clear bags and backpacks since those are not allowed inside. Pretty sure they didn't have enough lockers, assuming that most concert goers know the banned list by now and would leave those in their car. We scanned our tickets, and went through a metal detector. Once in, we had time to buy a eat-as-you-stand dinner from a good BBQ vendor on the grounds. We finished before the concert start, which was actually 2 minutes early than the prescribed 18:45. Most of the grounds were still empty, but did fill up completely later in the night. The Romantics played 11 songs, with the last two being their hits: "Talking in your Sleep" and "What I like about You", finishing by 19:45. At 19:54, Christopher Cross came on. He played 12 tracks, including twice for his hit 'Sailing' (winner of Record AND Song of the Year at the 1981 Grammys). For me, it was crazy hearing the song with the backdrop of the iconic Queen Mary, and the ocean nighttime breezes cooling everyone down (actually needed a hoodie). Other songs included 'Think of Laura', 'Arthur's Theme', and of course, the classic, 'Ride Like the Wind'. He finished by 20:52. At 21:26, Toto came on (with the original band member, Steve Lukather) and played 14 songs, including 'Roseanna', 'I'll be over you', 'Hold the Line', and their biggest hit 'Africa', finishing by 23:05. For the last song, they invited all the previous acts as well, and . It was very clear why they were the headlining act, with multiple solos by the drummer, keyboardist(s), and lead guitar, all being very good. The lead singer is Joseph Williams (son of John), part of Toto off and on since 1986, and the singing voice of Simba for 2 songs from the Disney movie, the Lion King. We ended up walking back over the Queens Wy bridge since it was going to very difficult to get any sort of rideshare and we had not bought shuttle tickets (which also looked really chaotic as well). The public transport (Passport bus or Aquabus/Aqualink) were on normal weekend schedule, which meant that there was no way it could handle the crowd. Once we crossed the bridge, it wasn't that much further to get to our place so skipped rideshare or uber. Ended up getting home a bit after midnight, which I'm pretty sure was sooner than most concert goers. Another benefit of living in DTLB. I do think the amphitheater is a work in process, with the 'temporary' moniker giving the operators the excuse to not provide things (like round-trip shuttles to far away parking lots, Wi-Fi since the cell tower here was being overloaded, more comfortable seats, and more food options) that most concert goers going to a 10k+ amphitheater would expect. But for me, this one-night experience worked out great, and would definitely consider coming back if another act that we loved would come next season. Hopefully they will make this permanent, and put better transportation options for visitors. read more

There's an odd little identity crisis here. The venue is still sometimes listed as the Long Beach Amphitheater, its original name, and other times as the newly branded F&M Bank Amphitheater of Long Beach. Same place, different dropdown selection. Either way, it's a pretty dead-average concert venue. First, there's no on-site parking, although there are plenty of options nearby. I used the former Long Beach Arena lot, yes, the whale-painted building, for $17, plus $15 per person for the round-trip shuttle. For three of us, that came to $62 before hearing a single guitar chord. Walking is an option, but figure about 30 minutes. To their credit, the shuttle operation is pretty efficient. We were at the venue roughly 15 minutes after parking and back to the car about 20 minutes after the show. NOTE: everything is cashless. The amphitheater itself reminds me a lot of the old FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine: around 11,000 seats, decent sightlines in spots, and sound that I'd call okay, not great. We had pit tickets, which were easily the best place to be if you don't mind mixing it up and working your way toward the stage. Floor seats behind the pit looked much less appealing, while the tiered sections ranged from decent to average. The coolest thing about the venue is actually the setting. Being outdoors right next to the Queen Mary gives it a legitimately cool SoCal concert backdrop, especially as the sun goes down. Unfortunately, the venue itself doesn't quite live up to its surroundings. The grounds feel temporary and a little "fly-by-night," with very little in the way of permanent installations or personality. Food was standard concert fare, Nathan's hot dogs around $9, cheeseburgers around $12, plus a couple of food trucks with crazy lines. Pro tip: check behind the tall center risers; the lines were noticeably shorter for food and beer (but no food trucks back there) Overall, I'd put the venue at 2.5 stars, because I enjoyed the show, I'll round UP. Great location, decent size, workable logistics, but the parking setup is annoying and the place itself feels more functional than memorable. Fortunately, the show was excellent, ROME, Atmosphere, 311 and Dirty Heads more than made up for the venue and overall experience. read more

Attended a concert at the new amphitheater in Long Beach that offers nice sunset views. Lots of communication about the parking situation (none on site) but not super clear instructions about rideshare direct to the venue (the shuttle stops were strongly encouraged). For such a high ticket price, was disappointed that it was a port-a-potty situation for restrooms and that the free WiFi that had been advertised didn't work. The bowl portion of the venue isn't up yet so that was a slight bummer because all the renderings looked amazing. Food and drink was pricey but that seems to be the norm at venues these days. Plus side, the bartender we found that was making actual cocktails vs premixed one did encourage other patrons to go clarify about their bills being overcharged. read more

07.17.2026 Friday Went here for the Everyday Fridays event. Headliners Mike Epps, ICE CUBE, Warren G, and Scarface. The show was off the hook. Everything about this venue is good except the parking and somewhat the restrooms. That is the only 2 complaints I have. When coming here for any event. Take Rideshare or get dropped off and picked up. This is the only way. Parking is limited. Either you are parking at the queen mary, cruise line or restaurants. Make it easier for yourself by avoiding the headaches. The restrooms, they are all porto potties. This place should spend some money on restrooms with piping. Just saying . 10000 capacity with alot of overflow. At least there were plenty of porty potties though. Overall, my first experience at this outdoor venue was a positive one! Lots of booths, bars and props on my visit. The acoustics is phenomenal. The vibe is good. When Sunset arrived, it was the best feeling ever! Nice ambiance of the ocean breeze and feeling the harbor life. Had a good time, I recommend this venue. Every seat is a good seat! Good thing is they are all numbered. 10/10 for sound, ambiance and views, but hard to get to. We went for the Luke Bryan concert on a Saturday evening. The information on the Amphitheater and City website was confusing. We took an Uber to DTLB and after dinner, walked to near the Ferris Wheel and we're able to quickly board a free shuttle. The ride was quick and once we were dropped off, it was a short walk. The staff working at the venue were very friendly and helpful. The problem is that the only restrooms are porta potties. They did have a few stalls selling beer, wine and water, but the lines were long. There were food trucks, but again long lines. Modelo was $20 and water was $10! I don't know why they wouldn't allow people to bring their own liquor and food and picnic like they do at the Hollywood Bowl? They want to make money off the concessions, but they should think about the consumer. And they should definitely provide better information regarding the shuttles. The views and sound were awesome. It felt more like being at a music festival than at a music venue. read more

My boyfriend & I went to this venue to see De La Soul, The Roots and Nas. That is a line up of all line ups and I liked the idea of the location for this show but the execution was just... it left MUCH to be desired. I got no complaints about the artists or their vibe of course- because they're legends. I got one complaint about the sound. The sound techs could have done better for them, especially for the jazz musicians. Bass was good though. Clarity and balance was missing in some parts. Now the venue- Keep in mind we are in the middle of a heat wave so going on the mission required to get to this spot was not fun. As far as the venue website and their directions and suggestions, all I gotta say is "meh". I used chat gpt for the truth on how to get there. We got lucky finding our floor seats that we didn't even realize were categorized as floor seats. There was little to no organization or regulation and so I'd imagine people sat wherever they wanted versus the seats they paid for. I ain't trippin' so much on that part. I got what I paid for which was our perfect view and leg room in first row. But... main qualm is I had zero desire to wander or eat or drink because the space is confusing and hard to even get to and Porto potty's are a no go. The long breeze way to get to the entrance is filled with the smell of the Porto potty's lined up outside the entrance so that first impression sucked, especially when you're dripping in sweat from walking there. You could do better. It ain't likely that I will return. Hollywood Bowl can be a mission but they got their own parking, actual bathrooms, organization, great food options, good management and no such thing as a bad seat. If you do choose to go here, be prepared to pay for multiple conveniences in order to get yourself there. Choose a seat in the 100-200 section and only on the last seats so you got room and less hassle. Anyway, if the weather were cooler and you gave yourself a few hours to walk and wander, it could be alright. But the Porto potty situation and a large crowd and the costs of every convenience just isn't attractive to me. read more

What an incredible venue! We came here this past weekend with our high school friends, and for one night, we were teenagers all over again. It's another night we will be talking about for years to come! Ice Cube, Mine Epps, Scarface, Warren G, and another performer who paid tribute to Nate Dogg and sounded just like him gave me the chills. What made the evening super special was seeing my husband having the time of his life! The setting was absolutely beautiful! Seeing the Queen Mary all lit up in the background, the Long Beach skyline, and the massive cargo ships and cranes at the port made the experience so unique... it truly was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable concert. Everywhere you looked, people were dancing, singing every word, and having the times of their lives! The vibe and energy was perfect! The venue was clean and well organized. Nice venue. Had dinner at Chilis and headed over there via water taxi close by. Lots of vendors at the venue. Good sound. Getting back via water taxi had a very long wait so we hopped onto a bus. There were very long lines to get back to our car parked at Chilis even though we spent an hour backstage after the show. $21 to park in that lot . Recommend Uber/Lift back to your car. read more

Welcome to CLUSTERFUCK AMPHITHEATER, a temporary outdoor stage with aluminum grandstands and a very flat asphalt floor erected literally in the Queen Mary parking lot in a desperate attempt to profit off of underutilized land. Nobody with ANY successful experience in venue design or operations had anything to do with this - the single WORST concert going experience in SoCal. Proof? Let's begin: 1. There is nowhere to park. Only VIPs and crew are permitted to park within a mile of the place, even though there are large empty lots on both sides, including the cruise ship lot. The "official parking" is a lot they picked in Downtown Long Beach (a pretty scary gang and homeless infested city) where they charge you $55 to park, plus $12.50 each to cram into one of their shuttles - if you can find one of two pick up spots. If you don't fall for their GREEDY SCAM, you can park for $12 at the Aquarium or Pike, but you have to walk almost a freaking mile over the bridge, past a hotel, and through parking lots you're not allowed to use. If it's hot or cold or you have trouble walking up and down stairs, you're fucked. Uber is just $11, but there's no drop off, so you'll have to play Frogger across the road. We literally exited in the middle of traffic entering the cruise terminal and ran across the pretty wide street and through a half empty parking lot to find the hidden entrance. Entrepreneurs with pedal cabs offer rides for a whopping $20/person each way. Some people ride Lime scooters or e-bikes, which you might find Downtown. If you don't arrive two hours early to run the gauntlet these folks force you to run to reach their parking lot party, you will likely miss the opening act (that you paid for) like we did. 2. Eat before you arrive because there is very little food. Two food trucks (for 10,000+ people) with massive lines and long waits to get your actual food after you pay. Overpriced BBQ AND Mexican - or a bad burger at their food stand. That's it! 3. No tables. If you arrive in time to stand in line for the two options and get what you ordered, you'll have to eat on the ground or at your seat because they couldn't provide any sitting or standing tables. Zero. 4. Don't drink much because there are no real bathrooms. Just porta potties - and not the nice air conditioned kind in trucks. GROSS. 5. Did you want merch? Good luck finding it because it's hidden in a trailer in the back. Half the audience misses it depending on which side they enter. Apparently the so-called designers missed the class on Retail 101: Enter and exit through retail! 6. The floor seats are on flat ground, unlike most tiered or raked amphitheater seating. The aluminum grandstands are pretty far back. Unless you're up front, there's really no great seats. 8. Exiting is a nightmare. Hence the name Clusterfuck Amphitheater. Busses staked up, the entitled trying to exit their VIP parking lot, thousands of people trying to get an Uber and thousands more trying to find the bridge back to Downtown, stepping over sleeping homeless people as they complain about how far a walk it is and how they're never returning to this place. And the funny thing is, prints now called F&M Amphitheater. Who is F&M? Do not fall victim to the poor planning, shameless greed, and total disregard for the convenience and enjoyment of the paying guest at this glorified fairground stage. You better REALLY LOVE the performer you're going to see if you're going to waste so much time and money just getting to and from this venue - and trying to get something decent to eat without missing the show. As a temporary outdoor venue, F&M Bank Ampitheatre is a mixed bag. First: It is set up almost identically to the outdoor ampitheatre at Great Park Live in Irvine, CA. Except Great Park Live has a ton of parking on-site. Second: The dreaded parking situation. It's similar to the Hollywood Bowl in that, the majority of people can't park at the venue, so you have to either take shuttle buses to and from the venue, or take an aqua-taxi, or walk. Walking from Downtown Long Beach to the Ampitheatre is a fool's errand, especially in summer when it's hot and humid. Do not advise doing this at all. Getting the shuttle bus TO the venue, is pretty simple. We parked at the lots next to the Long Beach Arena for $22, and then took the shuttle over to the venue. The problem is that they still haven't gotten the shuttle bus queues when leaving the venue figured out. Their staff is not adequately trained, so there's confusion as to where you're supposed to go, and there's very little signage pointing you to the right place when you're leaving. You will probably be in the shuttle line for 15-20 minutes, depending on volume. Third: Portapotties are a necessary evil in a temporary venue setup like this. There are no actual proper bathrooms on site, so, just be aware. Bad smells abound. Food options are limited. Standard venue fare plus some food trucks. Why people choose to eat anything at all at concerts, I will never know. Especially since the food is improperly made, you'll be pooping your brains out in a stinky sweaty portapotty. Why risk it? Fourth: Actual concert experience The 300-section bleacher-style seats with plastic seat-backs are maybe the worst I've ever encountered other than actual backless metal bleacher seats. The rows are super tight, with very little legroom. You may not be expecting "comfort" but these are truly awful seats. And if you're wedged next to a morbidly obese person, good luck surviving. The audio is quite good, although that's rather hard to mess up at an outdoor venue where the audio engineers are not really worrying about sound bouncing off walls and ceilings. Summary: 1. Don't walk to the venue. That's just insane, especially in summer. Take a shuttle bus or aqua-taxi. 2. Ampitheatre staff needs to get their sh*t togther as it pertains to the shuttles exiting the venue. More signs, staff who knows what they're doing would help, figure out efficiencies. This isn't rocket science. 3. 300-level seats flat-out stink. Can't speak to the quality or experience of the better, closer seats. 4. As a concert venue, it's... fine? But with its share of problems. read more

Went to the Toto concert. Concert was great, views and sound were lovely, but getting there was problematic. Since this is built where there is limited parking, you take a shuttle. The shuttle doesn't start until one hour before the concert begins. We missed the first band waiting in line for food from the overwhelmed food trucks. I was told that the shuttles were independent of the amphitheater and they had no control. If we go again, we'll eat beforehand. Venue loses out on that revenue, but if they can't fix parking/transportation, oh well. read more

Dirty Heads/311 Tour, 8/18/26 For now, it's 'just' OK. Parking: Not really a problem but could be a surprise if you arrive assuming you are parking near the venue. Several options to choose from. Combined parking w/bus shuttle, Water Taxi (although seemingly limited; music started 5:30 pm, last shuttle in was at 5:30 pm. We opted to walk both ways (approx. 20 min each way from the Aquarium parking structure). There are countless ricksha style vehicles that will charge a fee. No issues at all leaving. Entry: no hassle at all. Concessions: Zero stars. Out of water around 7 pm? Not acceptable. And, like so many other venues, please consider allowing one sealed bottle per person. Pricing is as usual. Water was $7. Merch: plenty, all night. Seats: I like that even the pit is at a slight angle. Rows were tight but manageable. Production: Sound and visuals were great. Staff: Overall very good. Seemed almost overstaffed. Final Verdict: Not bad for a new venue. Some room for improvement. read more

Frustrating to deal with as there is no parking adjacent. The remote parking and bus service worked ok in DT LB...for $50 !! Leaving the venue caused a wait for buses. No prices on venue sold items at most booths. I guess they randomly charge whatever they want. I did see domestic beers at some booths for $17 and imports for $22. I didn't buy anything and avoided the profit motives. NO SMOKING ANYWHERE !! Grills smoking all around, but don't vape or smoke anywhere !! Frustrating :( No reentry !! Can't go out to smoke and can't come back in. Camera and lighting crews need to be trained professionals. Very often the cameras were out of focus or missed the action on stage. Lighting missed lots of action on stage also. The seats don't have much legroom either. If someone wants to pass by, you need to get up to let them pass. We won't be back. read more

I was so excited to visit the new F&M Amphitheater, but unfortunately the experience was incredibly disappointing. Getting there is a nightmare. There is no on-site parking, so you're forced to deal with shuttles or long walks. The venue also doesn't allow outside food or drinks, so you're stuck buying their overpriced mediocre concessions. Then, to make matters worse, there are only a handful of picnic tables to sit down and eat, leaving many people standing with expensive food in their hands. The restroom situation is equally disappointing--only porta-potties instead of permanent restroom facilities. For a brand-new venue, that's simply unacceptable. To top it off, the information provided online isn't very clear, making it even more frustrating to plan your visit. The location itself is beautiful, but it's just not worth the hassle. Between the parking nightmare, expensive food, lack of seating, and porta-potties, I would never buy tickets for this venue again. Shame on you, Long Beach--we expected so much more from a brand-new amphitheater. read more

Hands down the worst venue to see a concert in SoCal. You are forced to park offsite then take a shuttle that costs $15 per person. By the time 4 people park one car at the Convention Center for $15 then pay $15 more per person to ride a shuttle that boards 1/2 a mile away, you've paid $75 just to get to the entrance. Food options are $16-$18 for a hot dog, a hamburger or "Greek Salad" and bathrooms are porta-potties. The city is obviously trying to force you into downtown so you'll spend more money there. The venue is right next to the Queen Mary and surrounded by harbor lights so it's like watching a show with the house lights on. The "stadium" itself appears portable and looks like a carnival ride. The whole venue has a "pop-up" vibe. My kid's high school stadium is higher quality with better bathrooms and food options. I have tickets to two more shows here and had I known all of this in advance, I would've passed on seeing both bands, even though one of them is my favorite. read more

Oof, where do I begin? The only things that went well or were worthy of praise was the shuttle ride to the venue and the staff seemed nice (if not very knowledgeable). And that's because we went really early and were on the first or second shuttle, way before the large crowds arrived. The website said there's no parking at all at the venue, but there were at least 2 full lots of cars leaving by the time we left. So who were those people? They weren't employees. They were people leaving the concert. But I had to find parking wherever I could ahead of time downtown (ended up parking at the Hyatt) then got on the shuttle as I said. Don't bring even sealed bottled waters. You have to drink or dump them. We got in and had VIP for Luke Bryan but it was just a tent with crappy finger food and a limited selection of overpriced drinks with no straws. It was 5 times hotter and more humid in there than outside due to the white tent serving like a greenhouse. Didn't feel very VIP-ish. The venue looks very temporary too. It's like scaffolding with rows of seats that can be removed. We were supposed to be in the pit and had VIP lanyards and wristbands but they wouldn't let us in. They said nope you need to go back outside and get a pit wristband. That was never mentioned anywhere. I asked security where to go and they said "guest services tent." Walked way over there and nope, that wasn't it. There was a separate tent for wristbands. So I went there. The lady asked for my barcode. I had tickets in my iPhone wallet that had been scanned with a reader to get in. They don't actually have a barcode. She didn't understand that at first. Finally she gave us wristbands, and we finally headed back down to the pit. The pit was full of drunk kids (literal high schoolers) who were sharing wristbands and letting all their friends in. Eventually my old ass was surrounded by drunk kids jumping up and down and stepping on my feet with their cowboy boots and bumping me and swinging their heads so their long hair and cowboy hats were hitting me in the face, and of course one spilled my overpriced drink with her elbow. Such fun. Liability-wise they have all these temp walkway bumps to cover electric cords, some in the dark. I saw several people trip in one area. Very haphazard. Bathrooms are port-a-potties which my wife won't go into. Again, nothing VIP about those either. At least other venues have nicer restrooms for VIP's, otherwise what's the point of paying all that extra money? Then the VIP tent closed at 8, before the headliner even went on. So now we had to wait in the regular long lines if we wanted another drink. Again, nothing VIP about that. Moral of the story: VIP is a rip-off here. There was some "premium hospitality" area with its own security guard and its own food/drink/tables but they said nope you VIPs can't come in here. I have no idea who gets to go in there. Maybe the special people who also get to park there when there's supposedly no parking. Are these corporate sponsors, Long Beach city bigwigs, I have no idea. And forget getting on the shuttle to leave back to your car. The security guy outside pointed us in the opposite direction of where the shuttles are. We finally realized it and turned around after wasting valuable time. By then the line was over an hour long. Many people were walking the 2 miles back to downtown, and there's no organization and it's dark, so you have people walking in the same lanes where cars from the lots are leaving. People, cars, more people, more cars, add alcohol, and darkness, what could go wrong? Our ladies' feet hurt from their boots and standing all day and night. We didn't want to wait in line over an hour or walk 2 miles. Luckily we saw a golf cart taxi line and paid $20 per person to hitch a ride back. But even that was disorganized. People in that line behind us got on one before we did because they just cut the line and gave the driver money and jumped on. It felt like utter chaos with no enforcement of any rules and staff did not give good info all night. Pro tip: pay for parking well past midnight if you don't want to pay twice. Many people on the shuttles did not get back to their cars until 1am. The concert music itself was good because we love Luke, but ANY other venue would have been better. Let me start by saying that the entertainment was awesome, the music was great. But, the venue itself is terrible. I understand it's a temporary set up, but the "pop-up" stadium is very flimsy. Two of the seats in our row were broken. I tripped on the carpet they have laid out around the concession stands a couple of times, in the "folds". Carpet doesn't always lay flat, if it's thin and cheap like the one they used there. Transportation is terrible. Buses bring you in from the parking lots over the bridge. That's not too bad, but after the concert, when everyone needs to leave at the same time, it's ridiculous having to wait for the buses to bring you back to the parking lot, concert was over at 11 o'clock. We did not make it back to the parking lot until 1 o'clock in the morning. Needless to say, we will not be coming to this venue again. Also, the cost adds up. The concert ticket, plus $55 parking, plus the cost of food and drinks is outrageous. Not coming back. read more

Saw the Les Claypool/Primus show at LBA. Their soundman was fantastic! Wonderful sound. Les/Primus have a top notch soundman, 85 channels. Incredible job*. The sound system at LBA was excellent. When we purchased tickets online, the website seating chart showed a small GA area in the front of stage. The GA section in front was considerably larger than depicted. Where we should have been 7th 10th row was actually more like 25th or 30th row. We estimated the GA area was easily 60 to 70 feet deep, website depicted maybe 20 ft deep. VERY DECEPTIVE on either the venue or promotor. The ushers spoke very loudly to each other during the performance. The bus ride into the venue was palatable. The bus ride out was a disaster. 100s and 100s of people cut the line and security just let them board the buses before the people who actually followed the rules and waited in line. The seats are without a doubt the cheapest most flimsy seat of any of the 100s of venues I've been to during this lifetime. If you like used shipping containers this is the venue for YOU! To enter the venue you walk through used shipping containers stacked like LEGOs. The perimeter walls are yes, you guessed it, Used Shipping Containers. If truth existed in advertising this would be called the Repurposed Shipping Container Amphitheater. Oh, I miss the Universal Amphitheatre. How sad, they turned it into Harry Potter Land. Back to the show. Les Claypool and the Flying Frog Birgade, Claypool Lennon Delirium & Primus were all KILLER, ALL THREE SHOWS JUST FANTASTIC. The bands killed. The venue is well below par. Even if the buses had been working efficiently it is a royal pain in the ass getting out of this venue. It is as annoying as the stacked parking at The Greek. As a friend of mine says after a show they played where the venue/promotor underwhelmed the band. "Boys, take a good look around." Disclaimer: I would have rated the venue 1 star, although system & line array they were flying produced crystal clear sound in the hands of a true professional. I do not know Les/Primus soundman, although I did speak with him for a few minutes during one of the intermissions, hence 85 chanels. read more

BUYER BEWARE! The parking situation was the worst joke ever! They charge you $55 to park in an aquarium parking lot (located light years away) and they shuttle you to the 'venue' on a beat up bus, packed in like cattle. You are then forced to walk through an uneven dirt field and up a hill through a tunnel to get to the actual entrance. The 'venue' itself is next to the harbor and the cargo ships could be heard blowing their horns throughout the concert. The so-called 'venue' is basically a flat parking lot with a bunch of small folding chairs, so visibility was poor. The stage was poorly lit, the front of house mix was routinely off and the camera operator for the side screens kept pointing at the wrong soloist. The stench from the porta-potty area (the only facilities available) wafted over into the audience every time a gust of wind occurred. The security guard for our area kept walking in front of everyone and blocking their view, and it felt menacing. When we went to leave, the exit areas were poorly lit and the crowd bottlenecked BADLY. I shudder to think of what would happen if they had an emergency situation. To top it off, the situation with the shuttle busses scheduled to return the waiting hordes to the parking lot was easily the most disorganized, sloppy mess one could imagine! The people were given conflicting information regarding where to go and the busses were routinely passing groups of people who had been waiting in line the longest. It was crystal clear that the situation was rudderless, even to our poor line usher, who could not get any answers from his supervisor. People were outraged and began starting fights over it. The music was GREAT but every other aspect of this concert going experience was a total failure!!! BOOO!!! read more

My boyfriend and I attended the Pirates of the Caribbean Live Orchestra to Film. I loved the movie and the ambiance. My main complaint is how close together the seats are. It feels like you are sitting on top of each other. There is absolutely no room to cross your legs, rest your arms, or lean from side to side. When one person exited or entered the row, the entire row had to stand up and let them through. It seemed that the employees were not on the same page regarding the schedule of the night. For example, during intermission, one of the employees was yelling to the crowd to come back at 9:40pm when the movie would resume. It actually resumed at 9:32pm which was not only inconvenient for the people in our row who had to let us back through, but also those who were still using the restroom, purchasing food/drinks, etc... I would definitely attend another Pirates of the Caribbean movie with a live orchestra to film, but it would have to be at a different venue. read more
