You absolutely have to see a film at the Old Town Music Hall!!!!…read more We went for my partners birthday and it was so exciting to see the 100 year old Wurlitzer in all its glory. We saw a rare Gloria Swanson silent film along w a talk by a brilliant film historian. Every show opens with a little performance but we were lucky enough to see a silent film which means that the organist live scores the entire film just as it would have been done in the 20s ! Such a special experience, and a must for any fans of music, film, and LA history.

I'm constantly going to revival and old theaters like The Egyptian, New Beverly, and Aero theatre and wanted to add this one to the rotation. Essentially, they transport you back in time to the early 20th century when movie theaters started taking off! And not just about the old films they show, we're talking OG Dr. Pepper in a glass bottle and lobby cards and photos on the wall. A giant Wurlitzer organ where our organist started off the night's festivities with a few words of history and a few songs on the organ. We even did some sing-alongs lol. Everyone in the red vests are volunteers keeping this running. You can sense the deep passion they all have for preserving this history and a deep love of cinema. Got a brochure calendar for showings through June and will now make sure I come out at least once a month.

There's a real chew here--a springy, structured bite that gives just enough resistance before yielding. It's deeply satisfying and makes every dish feel more intentional. The cappelloni shows it off best: that almost-famous sauce wraps around each piece, but the pasta holds its own, so you get that perfect balance of silky and structured. Same with the tangiello--the meat sauce tastes like it's been simmering for days, rich and layered, but the noodles never get lost because that chew carries through. The Caesar isn't an afterthought either. It's got a subtle spicy kick that wakes everything up, and if you add chicken, it's done right--well-seasoned, nicely grilled, juicy with a bit of char. It turns a classic into something you actually remember. Dinner is where things go a little heartier, and the pork chop delivers. Fall-off-the-bone tender, but still full of flavor--not just soft for the sake of it. Jame just gets the fundamentals right, then pushes a little further. Thoughtful, textured, and the kind of place where even the chew of the pasta becomes part of the experience.

I was impressed with the clean and modern look of Jane Enoteca from the moment I walked in. Their dishes consist of several handmade pastas, salads and Italian inspired comfort food. My friend and I chose to start our meals with the Meatballs and Brussels Sprouts. Being a Brussels Sprouts fan, I really enjoyed their roasted crispy Brussels sprouts that were tossed in schiaffoni dressing and finished with sesame. Equal in deliciousness were their Meatballs. The Meatballs were tender, rich and saucy. These starters were a great way to kick off our meal here. For our mains, we got their Paccheri Lisci and Tonnarelli. The Paccheri Lisci had a bit of a spicy kick to it. It has spicy pork sausage sugo, fennel, sage and pecorino. It was meaty and flavorful. The Tonnarelli or Cacio e Pepe contrasted nicely with the Paccheri Lisci. This pasta dish was simple, sharp and peppery. This was more bold versus saucy. Last but not least we had some cookies for dessert. I loved the fresh baked snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies. It was a sweet and perfect ending to the meal here. Overall, I really enjoyed dining at Jame Enoteca. I am now looking forward to trying out their sister restaurant Jame Taqueria down the street.

Like it's so insane!!! It's like walking into a Rock n' Roll hall of fame museum or something. It's very spacious inside and very vibrant!!! They play rock n' roll videos on their big screens and have all the major bands all over!! Very good vibe to come for brunch and large parties. They even have a nice outdoor seating area. The food that I ordered was good too! I had the Asian flavored wings, bbq chicken salad, and chocolate brownie sundae to share. The food for me was pretty decent!!! The wings were so bomb and fresh!!! The happy hour red cabineret wine was also good!! The service was actually outstanding here!!! The hostess was very nice and sweet, she helped out the whole time and let us move from the seat we didn't want to sit at. Also, our server Ray was just amazing!!! Very nice and personable. She recommended good things to eat off the menu. Thanks for that!!! The manager Ed was also really nice and was the best!!! He was super cool and very down to earth!! Exceptional customer service is def here at Rock & Brews!! I will come back here for sure !!! They have happy hour everyday and really good menu. I recommend here! -Marshay D.

When the 49ers game comes on, all fans show up and pack the bar with a live and rowdy atmosphere. When it's gameday, seating definitely gets tough. They have a main TV for the game and the surrounding TV's have other football games. Last time I went they were doing spin the wheel for shots or small prizes. At Gallagher's there is inside and outside seating. It gets really hot during football times so the lighting makes it beaming hot. If you are just getting brews, this place is a good spot but I would say the food is below average for bar food. Fish and Chips were really crispy and a big portion, fries were okay. Pretzel was also good. But it just felt possibly frozen and just basic food. Since it gets busy the servers almost sometimes forget to check up and serve you.

And our server was very sweet and professional however the pub was completely understaffed with one person in the front and one in the back. It look an hour to get our food (we came specifically for the Irish breakfast) and all of our breakfasts were cold or blatantly undercooked (the pancakes were running in the middle). And although our server was sweet, we had to ask her several times for things (water, cutlery, additional plates) because she would forget to bring them when asked the first time. It's one thing to wait for your food which is annoying. It's a whole other when you've waited a long time and then the food comes out cold and at different times-- so there evidently wasn't the staffing to cook 6 breakfasts at once so they came out one at a time (and were cold when left with us) It's a shame because the Irish bacon and sausages were good quality - but the experience was less than. Had I been the owner of the joint I would have flyover a 50% discount on the food given the situation at hand. Again, want to call out that the server was sweet- but not much hustle and definitely needed help. We might try again because of the circumstances -- but we will try other places for Irish breakfast first before coming back here.

To put it simply: this is the kind of place Laguna has been missing. From the moment we walked in, the energy felt dialed-in in a way that immediately reminded me of a Hillstone experience -- polished but not pretentious, lively but still intimate. That balance is incredibly hard to execute, and Nix nails it. For context, I'm part owner of 230 Forest Avenue, so I don't say this lightly: Nix easily lands in my top five in Laguna Beach. We started with Aperol spritzes (perfectly balanced, not overly sweet), along with a couple of appetizers -- including a fried asparagus dish that was addictive in the best way. Crisp, flavorful, and gone way too quickly. For mains, I ordered the veggie burger, which was genuinely one of the best I've had -- hearty, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully constructed (not an afterthought, which vegetarian options so often are). My boyfriend had the noodle salad, which was fresh, vibrant, and layered with flavor. But beyond the food, what really stood out was the overall experience. The atmosphere feels intentional , great music, beautiful crowd, and a buzz that makes you want to linger. It's the kind of place where dinner effortlessly turns into drinks, and drinks turn into "should we just stay a little longer?" Laguna Beach doesn't have a ton of restaurants that hit this level across the board -- food, service, ambiance, and energy, but Nix absolutely does. We'll be back, and soon.
