Came here to celebrate Father's Day with my husband and my snarky teenage son, who had just turned 17 after spending his birthday in Hawaii at a summer youth submarine training program (because regular camp is apparently too basic). We started with cocktails. I had the Mary Sue ("Pornstar Martini") with vodka, vanilla, passionfruit, salted lime, fino sherry, and champagne foam. YUM. Dangerously good. My husband had the Rob Gentile, an elevated Old Fashioned, and was thoroughly impressed. Service was great, and the food was top-notch. Let's dive in! Meatballs with beef, pork, ricotta, potato purée, tomato sauce, Grana Padano, and arugula--WOW. Cheesy, saucy perfection. Beef Tartare with tonnato, shallot, marjoram, crispy potato, and toast. Delicious and a generous portion. I ordered Coop's Pork Shank with Lambrusco-mustard glaze, aromatic jus, and potato purée. Tender, flavorful, and that broth was incredible. It paired perfectly with the broccolini... ...which we didn't order. We spotted the table next to us enjoying it with burrata and immediately added it to our "next time" list. My son ordered the Chicken Parm with capellini. He loved the huge chicken parm portion, which successfully fed his bottomless teenage appetite, but declared the pasta "too eggy." Teenagers are basically unpaid Michelin critics. My husband ordered the Scarpinocc with braised beef cheek, brown butter, sage, and saba. He loved it, but our resident food critic chimed in with, "I don't really taste the beef." Dessert was the cinnamon bread pudding with ice cream and caramel drizzle--absolutely worth saving room for. We really wanted to like this Italian spot, but unfortunately, it just didn't live up to the expectations. The pasta was clearly homemade, and you could tell it was fresh, but the actual flavors were very underwhelming. For a place specializing in Italian cuisine, we expected a lot more punch. What really turned us off, though, was the lack of value. For the price of the food, the service policy feels incredibly stingy. They do not give you free refills on drinks, which is ridiculous at this price point--refills should absolutely be included. To make matters worse, you do not get free bread for the table either. Walk in and you can't quite tell which restaurant you're in -- one side goes modern and colorful, the other leans warm and classic, like two different owners split the lease and never agreed on a mood board. Somehow it works. It's the kind of unconventional layout that shouldn't hold together in a city as design-precious as LA, but does. And the room is doing something rarer than good lighting: it's actually mixed. Old couples, loud groups of twenty-somethings, families -- nobody looks like they wandered in from the same zip code, and everybody looks like they're having a good time. The staff match the energy, warm without being polished into blandness. Service isn't the story here, but it's not a complaint either -- just solid, present, out of the way. The food tells a more complicated story: a kitchen with real technique that keeps stopping just short of finishing the thought. The octopus starter is the clearest example. The char never showed up -- the tenderness is there, the cook is right, but a good octopus dish lives and dies by that crust, and this one arrived soft all the way through, more braised than grilled. It sat on potatoes that were seasoned well and under-dressed everywhere else -- just leaves, nothing pulling it together. A scatter of herbs, or better, some roasted peppers playing off the reddish char-that-wasn't on the octopus, and this becomes a dish instead of components sharing a plate. At this price, it needs to look like someone meant it. The squid ink pasta has the same issue in liquid form -- a sauce that reads more Southeast Asian than Italian, which isn't a knock on the flavor, but it's thinned out, watery in a way that suggests tomato water crept in where it shouldn't have. The texture's good. The idea's good. It needs to be tightened. Where the kitchen finds itself is the spicy rigatoni -- pasta cooked with real conviction, al dente without apology, sauce rich without tipping into heavy. It's the best thing on the table and it knows it. The only note is the same note you'd give a chef who's proud of a sauce: cut it with something acidic. A little lemon would keep you eating past the third bite instead of feeling it. The mushroom lasagna is lovely and insulting in equal measure -- the pasta is buttery and thin in the right way, the mushrooms taste like they were cooked with attention, and the portion is a joke relative to the check. Order it knowing you're paying for a taste, not a meal. And for a menu built on sauces this good, the absence of bread service is a real miss -- this is a kitchen that's leaving free money on the table. Dessert continues the pattern of "good, not quite resolved." The chocolate cheesecake barely tastes like cheesecake -- the cream cheese is a whisper, the chocolate does the structural work a proper crust should do, and the crust itself collapses before your fork gets there. None of that makes it bad. It makes it a very good chocolate dessert wearing a cheesecake's name tag. A little berry, some real tartness, would give it the contrast it's currently missing. The bread pudding is the safest thing on the menu -- a touch dry, restrained on sweetness in a way that reads intentional rather than accidental, topped with ice cream that tastes like it came out of a tub because it did. Revisiting a local favorite, a legit fine-dining-level Italian pasta house situated in El Segundo's Main Street strip. I started not so strong with Ospi's Crispy Provolone - thesegiant sandwich-sized blocks of mild, stringy cheese are as heavy as bricks, and it makes me a bit too full for much else. That said, both pastas are absolutely amazing. The Tagliatelle al Ragu is deeply savory, and the Mandilli might be the coolest thing I've ever seen. It is always a pleasure to dine in downtown in El Segundo and I was excited to finally check out Jame Enoteca, which is located right at the heart of area. I was impressed with the clean and modern look of Jane Enoteca from the moment I walked in. Their dishes consist of several handmade pastas, salads and Italian inspired comfort food. My friend and I chose to start our meals with the Meatballs and Brussels Sprouts. Being a Brussels Sprouts fan, I really enjoyed their roasted crispy Brussels sprouts that were tossed in schiaffoni dressing and finished with sesame. Equal in deliciousness were their Meatballs. The Meatballs were tender, rich and saucy. These starters were a great way to kick off our meal here. For our mains, we got their Paccheri Lisci and Tonnarelli. The Paccheri Lisci had a bit of a spicy kick to it. It has spicy pork sausage sugo, fennel, sage and pecorino. It was meaty and flavorful. The Tonnarelli or Cacio e Pepe contrasted nicely with the Paccheri Lisci. This pasta dish was simple, sharp and peppery. This was more bold versus saucy. Last but not least we had some cookies for dessert. I loved the fresh baked snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies. It was a sweet and perfect ending to the meal here. I visited this restaurant yesterday with family during lunch. The food here was very good. The meatballs I had as an appetizer were light, not dense. The sauce was well balanced and wispy. I usually don't like olives, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the olives here. I think it had to do with the fact that these olives were marinated, not brined. I don't like briny stuff. The Tonnarelli was the highlight of the meal. The sauce was thick and creamy, and coated the pasta nicely. The pasta was cooked al dente, making it perfectly firm and chewy. For my drink, I had the Light and Stormy mocktail which had lemon, ginger, lime, and mint in it. It was slightly carbonated and tasted like a really good virgin mojito. I would say the service here was good, not great. It took like 10 minutes for a server to come to us after we were seated to take our order. However, our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. Parking here was tricky. There were lots of reserved parking spaces on the lot for specific businesses. You may get lucky finding an open parking spot on site, but we had to drive around to find one. This place is a nice spot for family gatherings. I was in the area looking for a lunch spot, and thanks to good old Yelp, I came across Jame Enoteca. Pressed for time, I opted for the lunch special menu, which offered several tempting choices. I started with the meatballs and followed them with the paccheri lisci. Both dishes were well-seasoned, packed with flavor, and did not disappoint. Jame Enoteca takes pride in its hand-rolled pasta, and it shows. The pasta tasted exceptionally fresh and was cooked perfectly al dente. The service was friendly, efficient, and attentive, which made the meal even more enjoyable. I especially appreciated the staff taking the time to explain the lunch specials that weren't listed on the menu. Amazing!!! Everything was absolutely perfect! I came here for lunch with a friend today. This was our first time trying out this restaurant. I rarely eat pasta at a restaurant unless it's freshly handmade pasta. They make their pasta daily so it was a win win for me! I chose the "Hollywood" style Tagliatelle al Ragu and my friend had the Spicy Rigatoni. I tried both. Excellent! The pasta was so fresh and the sauces were perfectly executed. The service was outstanding from beginning to end. The restaurant has a modern decor and plenty of seating! They are located in a small strip mall. Parking can be a challenge. Very busy on a Friday night! But thankfully, they are located in a small plaza that has a parking lot. It wasn't too difficult to find street parking as well. My friend and I had a reservation and were seated outside on their patio, which wasn't cold thankfully. The waitress gave us a rundown of the specials and offered some helpful menu suggestions. I ended up going with the spicy rigatoni with added sausage. It tasted great! For dessert, I had to go with the warm bread pudding, which is seen some great pictures of in other Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. It was a massive slice. First time, dining here with my family and we really enjoyed it. Theres is a parking lot, but on this Saturday night, it was full. Theres also street parking but with so many restaurants on the same street I had to circle before I found a spot. I had a reservation, which is great because inside the restaurant was just as packed. We were greeted and promptly seated. There a very lively crowd and at times it was pretty loud. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed our food. I had the Cacio Pepe with chicken. It was creamy with just the right seasoning. I also tried some of the other dishes, which included a delicious mushroom lasagna.. (I honestly never thought that would be possible). The chicken Parmesan was delicious and the serving size was good for the price. We got a side of the pasta to go with it. Everything was very good. 12/10/2025 Been a long while since I was last here! Was craving the Scarpinocc, so had to drive all the way here to eat this! There were so many people today for lunch! I was there to pickup on a Wednesday at 1:00pm. It was a packed house! Except for their one room for events, the whole place was packed both indoors and outdoors! Was so glad to have gotten takeout that day. ORDER Ordered online for pickup. I wanted the Scarpinocc, which is only available for dinner at Jame to eat at the restaurant, although not offered for lunch. Strangely, Scarpinocc it is available for takeout only for lunch. So decided to do takeout. Scarpinocc - Love the brown butter with balsamic vinegar reduction sauce to bring out that buttery flavor and that vinegar flavor from the balsamic that adds dimension. A good amount of parmesan cheese, so it added another nutty flavor to it as well. The meat filling did seem slightly different than the last time I ate this. It was a lot more shredded, almost to the point where it looked ground up. However, everything was delicious and pasta was cooked well! I've had their Scarpinocc at their restaurant and it is a sizeable amount of food, so doing takeout means it will be a smaller amount of food, since their takeout boxes are smaller. So you do sacrifice getting less than what you've paid for. Very satisfied with this dish inspite of it being takeout. Ospi's Crispy Provolone - This was a lot more crunchier than expected! Like double-fried crunchiness! I think some people might appreciate that, but I thought it was too crunchy. The gooey provolone cheese was delightful and loved that sweet cheese flavor and that cheese pull! The vodka sauce was a perfect pairing. Nutella Mascarpone Cake - This has been a favorite ever since its debut! Love that balance of creamy mascarpone and Nutella chocolate mousse. The texture is more like cheesecake. I could be wrong, but I think there's a layer of dark caramel on top of the Nutella chocolate mousse or in the mousse. I can taste caramel in it. That chocolate shortbread crust is so good too! Buttery, chocolate shortbread crust! Not sure why it's called cake and not pie, but love, love, love this dessert! Vodka Sauce (16oz) - Decided to purchase a jar to make my own pasta at home. It tastes exactly like the sauce from the restaurant. Recommend purchasing if you love their vodka sauce! CUSTOMER SERVICE I was stuck in traffic and running late for the pickup, so I called to postpone the pickup time. The host was friendly and made sure that everything was done accordingly. When I got there, the same host greeted me and made sure everything was packed and ready to go. Great service all around! PARKING This mini strip mall always has parking issues. It is jam-packed and very difficult to find parking! There is additional parking at the parking structure, but I luckily found a quick parking spot for pickup. We had the non alcoholic drinks stormy something and cucumber something. Both delightful and refreshing. Appetizers we had the deep fried provolone which were like cheese curds and vodka sauce. 8.3/10. The chopped salad was light and had variety of layers. 8.5/10. Roasted Brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious but nothing extraordinary. 8.6/10. Branzino was a delicious and fried well but was lacking something... like anything. Update: Last time I was here was right after the pandemic where we we seated outdoors. My perception of the size of this place is incorrect or they've expanded?! It's the place to be on a Saturday night. My friend had gotten there early and pre-ordered us the cutest mini Espresso Martinis. Great start! We then ordered our cocktails. I do have to say we were shocked at how dimunitive our "regular" cocktails were considering we just had mini martinis. We ordered "family style" aka girl dinner the following: Starting with the bread with olives and Almonds, of course the amazing Kale Salad with the perfect dressing, Wanderer Ribeye done medium with yummy Chimichurri and the Mandilli with Almond pine nut pesto. I love almonds! All of it was delicious. I would definitely come back to try more on the menu. The ambiance inside and on the heated patio is nice. I think it's fun for a group of four or a date place. Expect to walk just a little bit after parking on the street. The spot is like the ultimate girls meet up. I came here with a group of my girlfriends and had a blast. I also noticed that there were at least three other groups that night with girls all catching up. The restaurant had really nice vibe and looked simple and clean. We sat outdoors and there were heat lamps so we weren't cold. The fried cheese tasted really good with the sauce. It was crispy and the cheese pull was thick and stretchy. Our server was amazing, very attentive, and he gave us great recommendations. He also gave us complementary bubbly, and even gave a mocktail sample to my friend who wasn't drinking. The pasta was amazing. Had just the right amount of protein and wasn't salty. Really liked the sauce and the pasta tasted fresh. Jame Enoteca is very, very good. Chef Kalb also owns Jame Taqueria (also in El Segundo), Jemma (Hollywood), and Ospi (Brentwood and Venice). Except for Jame Taqueria, all are Italian restaurants. Jame Enoteca is well known for its large Kale Salad and Spicy Rigatoni. Food: Ordered the Beef Tartare and Charred Octopus as appetizers, and Scarpinocc and Spicy Rigatoni as pasta entrees. The Beef Tartare was fine, but too light for my taste. To me, beef tartare should be "beefy." Here, the tartare was very fresh and mixed with shallots, marjoram, and crispy potato bits, served with a tonnato sauce (a creamy Italian sauce made primarily from tuna and mayonnaise) and toast. Because it was light and with the tonnato sauce, it could easily have been mistaken for a tuna tartare. In turn, the Charred Octopus was served with fingerling potatoes, and hints at a Thai flavor. It was okay, but some of the octopus seemed too soft and some seemed to be on the verge of being rubbery, rather than tender yet firm. The accompanying potatoes were underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but I also wouldn't order it again. The Scarpinocc (stuffed pasta in the shape of a slipper, think a rectangular ravioli) was good, stuffed with braised beef cheek and served in a brown butter sauce. It was nice and hot, and very rich. This is the type of dish that you want on a cold winter night. The Spicy Riganoti remains my favorite dish at Jame Enoteca. It is served in a very good and slightly spicy vodka sauce, and the rigatoni itself was perfectly cooked, al dente with just a slight amount of chewiness. Service: Service was very good and attentive. Seating: The restaurant seemingly has three parts: the bar along with the seating across from the bar and to the right of the entrance, a room to the left of the bar area described above, and outdoor seating. The bar and adjacent seating has more of a diner feel and can get noisy as the sound seems to reverberate in this area, while the room to the left has a warmer, cozier look. The outdoor seating is fine, but it's worth remembering that Jame Enoteca is in a strip mall. Bottom Line: Jame Enoteca is a lively restaurant in El Segundo with very, very good Italian food. read more

On a positive note, our server Luis was amazing -- super attentive, friendly, and really made the experience enjoyable. That said, the food just didn't hit the way it used to. Then there's the food. It was a mixed bag! I ordered the squid ink pasta. The portions were ok. I was satisfied by the size of it. The pasta met my expectations perfectly, the sauce was rich, and tasty. My other three companions were not so thrilled...one ordered the special of the night, pork pork pork something. It was a little underwhelming, that was all I can remember of her comments. The other two were, well...they agreed that "meh" was appropriate. I can't believe a spot this good is tucked away in El Segundo! Was in town visiting friends who live in the neighborhood, and they suggested Jame for dinner. While I know LA has some seriously good Italian food, I was skeptical as I'm also spoiled in NYC. Jame very quickly proved me wrong. Definitely still some tables available but I was majorly impressed they were able to pull that big a crowd, so make sure to make a reservation. For food we shared: - Beef tartare: yummmm, they gave a hefty amount of tartare and 4 slices of their bread. A very solid start. - Ceasar salad: I would say this didn't blow me away, but it was a good salad and sometimes that's all you need. - Crispy provolone: Their take on a mozzerrella stick, this was so good-- make sure you eat it hot so you get that melty cheese pull. - Scarpinocc: My favorite!!! I love when there's a great filled pasta, and this delivered. The braised beef cheek was fantastic and stuffed in the pasta pillow was a perfect bite. - Spicy rigatoni: An excellent rendition of a spicy rig. If you like the dish, you'll like this dish. - Pork shank: Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. If you're on the fence about a main vs more pastas, get it. It's worth it. - Lemon tart: Perfect way to end the meal, my friends recommended and they were right. Drinks wise, I got the Nancy Silverton which is a martini (it's fun how all the cocktails are named after LA chefs) and hit the spot. We were seated in the patio on a cold evening, but the heaters kept us very comfortable. We ordered a starter, a salad, three entrees and two desserts and shared them family style between four of us. The Meatball starter was savory and fresh, the kale salad was fresh and delicious, the Spicy Rigatoni had a nice spicy bite to it, the Scarpinocc stuffed with beef cheek was savory yet the brown butter and sage gave it a slight sweetness, and the Chicken Parmesan was moist and tender inside with a nice crisp parmesan on the exterior. I've been to Ospi many times and knew what I was signing up for. Ospi is good but I still think there's places that are a tad better. I like Jame's menu a lot better than Ospi's and was pleasantly surprised by some dishes. However, I am taking a stat off for what I can only describe as some of the worst lighting for a restaurant. Inside really ruins the experience and we had to move to the outside which was better but wasn't really impressive. I think they really need to remodel or change the inside so it's more welcoming. I know it would've ruined the meal. As for the food everything was good. I was not expecting the spicy rigatoni to be as spicy as it was but it was good. I did like the beef cheek pasta which was a nice change from most pastas. We ended the night with the cinnamon bun bread pudding with ice cream. I would definitely come back just for that. Lastly, I appreciated the service as well. Our waiter was constantly checking on us and boxed up the food. So it never felt like we were being overlooked or ignored. read more

Stopped here after a matinee showing at the silent theater up the street and around the corner. I've been to Jemma in Hollywood by the same chef/proprietor and this restaurant is definitely better in service and in food. The preparation of our dishes were more complete and aesthetically pleasing. Here at Jame, our server was amazing, polite and helpful. CIABATTA PLATE - umami butter, local olive oil, marinated olives, rosemary almonds - I could and would slather that umami butter on ANYTHING. We indulged and ordered a second helping because it was so good! CHARRED OCTOPUS - fingerling potato, shallot confit, herbs, chili - this was cooked perfectly, very soft and tender. We even got someone that doesn't like seafood to try it AND like it! KALE salad - avocado, parm, cilantro, sweet & spicy almond vinaigrette - great vinaigrette and kale prep was good, no overly rough pieces in the chew. WANDERER FARMS RIBEYE - potato puree, salmoriglio, port agrodolce - mmmm, good char, cooked perfectly. A fair amount of fat, a great piece of meat. SCARPINOCC- braised beef cheek filling, very brown butter, sage saba - very brown butter is very good. PACCHERI LISCI - spicy pork sausage sugo, fennel, sage, pecorino - this was my favorite of the evening. Great balance of flavors. TAGLIATELLE AL RAGU - "hollywood" style bolognese - this was my least favorite but that's maybe because everything else was SO GOOD. The parking is tough if you come during peak hours. We sat outside in a nice little patio. We all three ordered beverages, and the two of us ordered the same beverages, one didn't come for like 10 minutes after the first one. I would not recommend the lemonade, as it is very tart. I ordered the mushroom lasagna and asked if I could have an aside of vodka sauce because I have to eat wet food otherwise I get sick. The server said no issues. When the meal came I got a small 2 ounce ramekin of sauce. I asked if I could have four more as I ordered a side of sauce. She said I can only give you one more. It was very frustrating because I made it a point when I ordered that I needed to have something with a lot of sauce, even if it was extra sauce on the side. They brought out two additional 2 ounce ramekins of sauce. It wasn't enough to eat the dinner with and it was rather frustrating that they couldn't meet my dietary restrictions. My partner ordered the squid ink pasta and really enjoyed it. Personally, since they were so unaccommodating with my dietary restrictions after my food came, I will not be returning. read more

Really great restaurant with plenty of seating! Though this place does get very packed so would advise to get a reservation and arrive 10-15min early to look for parking since this is located right in downtown El Segundo. We tried a few things and what really stood out was the pasta sauce which was so delicious. You can really taste the tomatoes and spices within the sauces. The pasta itself was also bouncy and delicious! Definitely would recommend this place for any occasion :) read more

Went for lunch. And let me tell you that I'm mad... at myself. I was looking for a pseudo Jon & Vinny's kind of place closer to me in South Bay. Turns out this place has been around forever and is absolutely killing it. Went for lunch on my way to LAX and had pasta and salad. We also got a bread plate and I can't tell you anything about it because we ate it so fast. The butter was divine. The pasta I had did have pork in it, but apparently I didn't really read the rest of the description because I was hoping to get a different pasta that had seen an online. Fortunately, for me, the pasta that hit the table was still perfect. The perfect portion, the perfect spice level, this is an extraordinary place. Service was excellent, and the environment was super chill and very cool (shout out Deve.. I think that's her name. At least it's what I might have misremembered from the check). I will absolutely be coming back because I need to figure out what I thought I wanted to order and actually order it at next time. Pro tip - there is a dinner menu and a lunch menu so if you're going after a particular item, make sure you know what menu you have available. They do have dairy free options (my partner is dairy free), but they are limited, still delicious. read more

It's Dine LA week and my choice was this neighborhood gem. I arrived on Friday evening, I forgot to make a reservation and I was seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant was very busy. Ordered the Kale Salad - excellent! Spicy rigatoni and Chicken Parmigiana - largest portion and prepared perfectly!! Found this little cute little Italian spot in a shopping center next to a sushi and other food. The staff is nice They have good specials a salad choice of pasta and the option to add wine. Both pastas were good the spicy pork sausage if you want a meat option its not that spicy so you can still tolerate it if you don't like spice and the spicy vodka pasta was good as well. My fav was the caesar salad though they don't use reg Caesar dressing which is different but good. Will be back. read more

We ate outside in the breezeway which was nice and cool. The staff was nice and friendly throughout our visit. The meatball was tasty - crispy and caramelized on the outside, fatty and flavorful on the inside. We loved the Brussels sprouts too - balanced with a hint of spice. The paccheri came loaded with meat and spice, just how we like it, with a rich tomato flavor. The tonnarelli cacio e pepe was creamy, peppery, and delicious. The chicken parm sandwich with vodka sauce was tasty, though we needed extra sauce and asked for it. It took a while to get sauce, so we took it to go. I've been dining at Jame since it first opened in El Segundo, and it has been a go-to spot for me, my family, and friends ever since. I've had many great meals here. The food and drinks are consistently good, and I appreciate the seasonal specials that keep things interesting. Service has always been friendly and efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. That said, I've started to notice a few issues as it has gotten more crowded. There is a strong, persistent smell of mop water or cleaning solution when you walk in. I understand the importance of cleanliness, but it is off-putting when you are trying to enjoy a meal. I thought it was just me at first, but my sister mentioned it too, so it seems noticeable to others. During our most recent visit, we brought my parents for the first time on a Saturday, and the atmosphere felt especially chaotic. Two separate tables near us had accidents where glassware was dropped and shattered, one at a nearby table and another right next to us. While the staff responded quickly and cleaned everything up, some wine did splash onto my shoes, and it made for a stressful and disruptive experience. After such a chaotic and rowdy dinner, that was the last straw, and we decided to leave. I want to emphasize that I've had many positive visits here, which is why this particular experience stood out so much. I'm hoping these issues are temporary because I would really like to continue enjoying Jame as one of my regular spots. read more
