In a nutshell: this was one of the most impressive meals I've had in a long while. I don't usually find myself in El Segundo, but I would happily make the drive down just to dine here again. My friends and I were recommended this spot by another friend, and it certainly did not disappoint. We were able to try out their Dine LA menu, and everything about this experience wowed us all. From the moment we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the hostess, who went out of her way to move some reservations around to better seat our party (we had 3 people but were only able to book a reservation for 2). I really appreciated this gesture, as well as the friendly and attentive service we received throughout the evening. We were seated on their beautiful outdoor patio, though it seems like you can't go wrong with either indoor or outdoor seating. Now, onto the FOOD: Caesar Salad: 5/5 Damn, I really wish all Caesar Salads could taste like this. Fresh, crunchy romaine drizzled with a spicy Caesar dressing and topped with toasted breadcrumbs - simple, but done very well. I really liked how tangy the dressing was! Chicken Parm: 5/5 First of all, can we take a moment to appreciate the massive portion? The chicken cutlet was perfectly breaded and fried, and the crispy exterior was nicely contrasted by the velvety, decadent vodka sauce and generous layer of melted cheese. I couldn't finish it all and had to take some of it home, which ended up being a delicious meal the next day. Meyer Lemon Pie: 4/5 I love pie, I love lemons, and I love lemon pie done well. The tartness of the Meyer lemons really shone and cut through the sweetness to create a perfectly balanced dessert. The dollop of whipped cream on top definitely tasted like it was freshly whipped in-house. Although the whipped cream tasted a tad bit salty, I still enjoyed and devoured it all. I just wish the portion were a little bigger since it was so yummy! Parking: There is a small parking lot out front, though it seems to fill up quickly in the evenings/on the weekends. The "Capellini" 10/10 SO GOOD. Can't help myself anytime I'm in El Segundo, I always make room for this dish. I love all the servers. Gibson is the server I see most. He's friendly, super knowledgeable on the entire menu and gives great recommendations based on your preferences. When I walked into this restaurant, my first thing that I noticed is that it smelled really strange. It smelled like the inside of someone's wet shoe or something. I ended up telling the hostess, and she was immediately concerned and looked into it. Aside from that, it was beautiful, well-decorated, and clean, and I had a great experience. As far as the food, everything was super delicious. I had this bread basket with olives and rosemary almonds, and it was so good. I ate the whole thing, which made it hard to eat my pasta and my salad. Now, the kale salad was one of the best salads I've ever had. It was so fresh and delicious, and they clearly massaged the kale or marinated it or something, because it was easy to chew and didn't scratch my throat like dry kale at some salad places. We used to avoid eating here because of the noise level during dinner service. One day, by accident, I stumbled upon the time in which to enjoy a low-key, delicious, quiet late lunch where you sit alone in the middle of an empty restaurant: show up at 2-2:15pm. I love this time so much that I brought my husband for a Friday lunch date. We ordered the broccolini, no spice. It does come covered in chili flakes so if you can't eat spice, ask for no spice. It's such a delicious starter dish. The ricotta-like cheese is so tasty and works so well with the broccolini and squeeze of lemon juice (or maybe a white wine vinegar) that's on it. For pasta - though I'm a meat lover, I usually order the mandilli pesto pasta. It's a large, thin, delicate pasta that is layered on itself and covered in a creamy pesto sauce that is so tasty. Hubby had the tagliatelle bolognese which was rich and had the right amount of salt to it. Delicious and classic. We ended our late lunch date with a stop at the new ice cream shop in town, Ginger's. It is always a pleasure to dine in downtown in El Segundo and I was excited to finally check out Jame Enoteca, which is located right at the heart of area. I was impressed with the clean and modern look of Jane Enoteca from the moment I walked in. Their dishes consist of several handmade pastas, salads and Italian inspired comfort food. My friend and I chose to start our meals with the Meatballs and Brussels Sprouts. Being a Brussels Sprouts fan, I really enjoyed their roasted crispy Brussels sprouts that were tossed in schiaffoni dressing and finished with sesame. Equal in deliciousness were their Meatballs. The Meatballs were tender, rich and saucy. These starters were a great way to kick off our meal here. For our mains, we got their Paccheri Lisci and Tonnarelli. The Paccheri Lisci had a bit of a spicy kick to it. It has spicy pork sausage sugo, fennel, sage and pecorino. It was meaty and flavorful. The Tonnarelli or Cacio e Pepe contrasted nicely with the Paccheri Lisci. This pasta dish was simple, sharp and peppery. This was more bold versus saucy. Last but not least we had some cookies for dessert. I loved the fresh baked snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies. It was a sweet and perfect ending to the meal here. Revisiting a local favorite, a legit fine-dining-level Italian pasta house situated in El Segundo's Main Street strip. I started not so strong with Ospi's Crispy Provolone - thesegiant sandwich-sized blocks of mild, stringy cheese are as heavy as bricks, and it makes me a bit too full for much else. That said, both pastas are absolutely amazing. The Tagliatelle al Ragu is deeply savory, and the Mandilli might be the coolest thing I've ever seen. The pasta is amazing, the spicy caesar is one that I dream about, and they can make a great martini! Service has been amazing every time we've gone. I visited this restaurant yesterday with family during lunch. The food here was very good. The meatballs I had as an appetizer were light, not dense. The sauce was well balanced and wispy. I usually don't like olives, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the olives here. I think it had to do with the fact that these olives were marinated, not brined. I don't like briny stuff. The Tonnarelli was the highlight of the meal. The sauce was thick and creamy, and coated the pasta nicely. The pasta was cooked al dente, making it perfectly firm and chewy. For my drink, I had the Light and Stormy mocktail which had lemon, ginger, lime, and mint in it. It was slightly carbonated and tasted like a really good virgin mojito. I would say the service here was good, not great. It took like 10 minutes for a server to come to us after we were seated to take our order. However, our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. Parking here was tricky. There were lots of reserved parking spaces on the lot for specific businesses. You may get lucky finding an open parking spot on site, but we had to drive around to find one. This place is a nice spot for family gatherings. The pasta was clearly homemade, and you could tell it was fresh, but the actual flavors were very underwhelming. For a place specializing in Italian cuisine, we expected a lot more punch. What really turned us off, though, was the lack of value. For the price of the food, the service policy feels incredibly stingy. They do not give you free refills on drinks, which is ridiculous at this price point--refills should absolutely be included. To make matters worse, you do not get free bread for the table either. Came here to celebrate Father's Day with my husband and my snarky teenage son, who had just turned 17 after spending his birthday in Hawaii at a summer youth submarine training program (because regular camp is apparently too basic). We started with cocktails. I had the Mary Sue ("Pornstar Martini") with vodka, vanilla, passionfruit, salted lime, fino sherry, and champagne foam. YUM. Dangerously good. My husband had the Rob Gentile, an elevated Old Fashioned, and was thoroughly impressed. Service was great, and the food was top-notch. Let's dive in! Meatballs with beef, pork, ricotta, potato purée, tomato sauce, Grana Padano, and arugula--WOW. Cheesy, saucy perfection. Beef Tartare with tonnato, shallot, marjoram, crispy potato, and toast. Delicious and a generous portion. I ordered Coop's Pork Shank with Lambrusco-mustard glaze, aromatic jus, and potato purée. Tender, flavorful, and that broth was incredible. It paired perfectly with the broccolini... ...which we didn't order. We spotted the table next to us enjoying it with burrata and immediately added it to our "next time" list. My son ordered the Chicken Parm with capellini. He loved the huge chicken parm portion, which successfully fed his bottomless teenage appetite, but declared the pasta "too eggy." Teenagers are basically unpaid Michelin critics. My husband ordered the Scarpinocc with braised beef cheek, brown butter, sage, and saba. 12/10/2025 Been a long while since I was last here! Was craving the Scarpinocc, so had to drive all the way here to eat this! There were so many people today for lunch! I was there to pickup on a Wednesday at 1:00pm. It was a packed house! Except for their one room for events, the whole place was packed both indoors and outdoors! Was so glad to have gotten takeout that day. ORDER Ordered online for pickup. I wanted the Scarpinocc, which is only available for dinner at Jame to eat at the restaurant, although not offered for lunch. Strangely, Scarpinocc it is available for takeout only for lunch. So decided to do takeout. Scarpinocc - Love the brown butter with balsamic vinegar reduction sauce to bring out that buttery flavor and that vinegar flavor from the balsamic that adds dimension. A good amount of parmesan cheese, so it added another nutty flavor to it as well. The meat filling did seem slightly different than the last time I ate this. It was a lot more shredded, almost to the point where it looked ground up. However, everything was delicious and pasta was cooked well! I've had their Scarpinocc at their restaurant and it is a sizeable amount of food, so doing takeout means it will be a smaller amount of food, since their takeout boxes are smaller. So you do sacrifice getting less than what you've paid for. Very satisfied with this dish inspite of it being takeout. Ospi's Crispy Provolone - This was a lot more crunchier than expected! Like double-fried crunchiness! I think some people might appreciate that, but I thought it was too crunchy. The gooey provolone cheese was delightful and loved that sweet cheese flavor and that cheese pull! The vodka sauce was a perfect pairing. Nutella Mascarpone Cake - This has been a favorite ever since its debut! Love that balance of creamy mascarpone and Nutella chocolate mousse. The texture is more like cheesecake. I could be wrong, but I think there's a layer of dark caramel on top of the Nutella chocolate mousse or in the mousse. I can taste caramel in it. That chocolate shortbread crust is so good too! Buttery, chocolate shortbread crust! Not sure why it's called cake and not pie, but love, love, love this dessert! Vodka Sauce (16oz) - Decided to purchase a jar to make my own pasta at home. It tastes exactly like the sauce from the restaurant. Recommend purchasing if you love their vodka sauce! CUSTOMER SERVICE I was stuck in traffic and running late for the pickup, so I called to postpone the pickup time. The host was friendly and made sure that everything was done accordingly. When I got there, the same host greeted me and made sure everything was packed and ready to go. Great service all around! PARKING This mini strip mall always has parking issues. It is jam-packed and very difficult to find parking! There is additional parking at the parking structure, but I luckily found a quick parking spot for pickup. The spot is like the ultimate girls meet up. I came here with a group of my girlfriends and had a blast. I also noticed that there were at least three other groups that night with girls all catching up. The restaurant had really nice vibe and looked simple and clean. We sat outdoors and there were heat lamps so we weren't cold. The fried cheese tasted really good with the sauce. It was crispy and the cheese pull was thick and stretchy. Our server was amazing, very attentive, and he gave us great recommendations. He also gave us complementary bubbly, and even gave a mocktail sample to my friend who wasn't drinking. Jame Enoteca is very, very good. Chef Kalb also owns Jame Taqueria (also in El Segundo), Jemma (Hollywood), and Ospi (Brentwood and Venice). Except for Jame Taqueria, all are Italian restaurants. Jame Enoteca is well known for its large Kale Salad and Spicy Rigatoni. Food: Ordered the Beef Tartare and Charred Octopus as appetizers, and Scarpinocc and Spicy Rigatoni as pasta entrees. The Beef Tartare was fine, but too light for my taste. To me, beef tartare should be "beefy." Here, the tartare was very fresh and mixed with shallots, marjoram, and crispy potato bits, served with a tonnato sauce (a creamy Italian sauce made primarily from tuna and mayonnaise) and toast. Because it was light and with the tonnato sauce, it could easily have been mistaken for a tuna tartare. In turn, the Charred Octopus was served with fingerling potatoes, and hints at a Thai flavor. It was okay, but some of the octopus seemed too soft and some seemed to be on the verge of being rubbery, rather than tender yet firm. The accompanying potatoes were underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but I also wouldn't order it again. The Scarpinocc (stuffed pasta in the shape of a slipper, think a rectangular ravioli) was good, stuffed with braised beef cheek and served in a brown butter sauce. It was nice and hot, and very rich. This is the type of dish that you want on a cold winter night. The Spicy Riganoti remains my favorite dish at Jame Enoteca. It is served in a very good and slightly spicy vodka sauce, and the rigatoni itself was perfectly cooked, al dente with just a slight amount of chewiness. Service: Service was very good and attentive. Seating: The restaurant seemingly has three parts: the bar along with the seating across from the bar and to the right of the entrance, a room to the left of the bar area described above, and outdoor seating. The bar and adjacent seating has more of a diner feel and can get noisy as the sound seems to reverberate in this area, while the room to the left has a warmer, cozier look. The outdoor seating is fine, but it's worth remembering that Jame Enoteca is in a strip mall. Bottom Line: Jame Enoteca is a lively restaurant in El Segundo with very, very good Italian food. read more

We had the non alcoholic drinks stormy something and cucumber something. Both delightful and refreshing. Appetizers we had the deep fried provolone which were like cheese curds and vodka sauce. 8.3/10. The chopped salad was light and had variety of layers. 8.5/10. Roasted Brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious but nothing extraordinary. 8.6/10. Branzino was a delicious and fried well but was lacking something... like anything. For 42 dollars maybe some vegetables or a potato. Shrug. It was just so lonely. 8.9/10. Squid ink pasta had an interesting texture. That lacked that bite. Probably from the ink. We ordered "family style" aka girl dinner the following: Starting with the bread with olives and Almonds, of course the amazing Kale Salad with the perfect dressing, Wanderer Ribeye done medium with yummy Chimichurri and the Mandilli with Almond pine nut pesto. I love almonds! All of it was delicious. I would definitely come back to try more on the menu. The ambiance inside and on the heated patio is nice. First time, dining here with my family and we really enjoyed it. Theres is a parking lot, but on this Saturday night, it was full. Theres also street parking but with so many restaurants on the same street I had to circle before I found a spot. I had a reservation, which is great because inside the restaurant was just as packed. We were greeted and promptly seated. There a very lively crowd and at times it was pretty loud. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed our food. I had the Cacio Pepe with chicken. It was creamy with just the right seasoning. I also tried some of the other dishes, which included a delicious mushroom lasagna.. (I honestly never thought that would be possible). The chicken Parmesan was delicious and the serving size was good for the price. We got a side of the pasta to go with it. Everything was very good. We used to love this place and it was one of our go-to Italian spots, so it's a bit disappointing to write this. On a positive note, our server Luis was amazing -- super attentive, friendly, and really made the experience enjoyable. That said, the food just didn't hit the way it used to. Everything looked great, but the flavors felt a bit flat and lacked the depth we remember from past visits. We've been coming here for a while, so it was noticeable. Not sure if it's because they've gotten busier or something has changed in the kitchen, but it felt like the food was missing that extra care and attention that made us love it before. We had a great time! Reservations for dinner on a Saturday evening. The hostess was super welcoming and the server was friendly and attentive. We could not have asked for anything more from them, 5 bright shiny stars for the service. The ambience was perfect, great lighting, and very comfy interiors. Again, 5 bright stars! Then there's the food. It was a mixed bag! I ordered the squid ink pasta. The portions were ok. I was satisfied by the size of it. The pasta met my expectations perfectly, the sauce was rich, and tasty. My other three companions were not so thrilled...one ordered the special of the night, pork pork pork something. It was a little underwhelming, that was all I can remember of her comments. The other two were, well...they agreed that "meh" was appropriate. Also, there was no bread to sop up sauces from your plate, or cheese to be sprinkled on the dish, or even cracked pepper? Maybe we should have asked? Herein lies my conundrum. Should my overall rating be based solely on the experience of my party as a whole? If so, then, 4 stars...sadly brought down by the non-unanimous decision that the food was 3 or 3.5 at best. I can't believe a spot this good is tucked away in El Segundo! Was in town visiting friends who live in the neighborhood, and they suggested Jame for dinner. While I know LA has some seriously good Italian food, I was skeptical as I'm also spoiled in NYC. Jame very quickly proved me wrong. We made a reservation for 7:30 pm on a Thursday and the place was poppin! Definitely still some tables available but I was majorly impressed they were able to pull that big a crowd, so make sure to make a reservation. For food we shared: - Beef tartare: yummmm, they gave a hefty amount of tartare and 4 slices of their bread. A very solid start. - Ceasar salad: I would say this didn't blow me away, but it was a good salad and sometimes that's all you need. - Crispy provolone: Their take on a mozzerrella stick, this was so good-- make sure you eat it hot so you get that melty cheese pull. - Scarpinocc: My favorite!!! I love when there's a great filled pasta, and this delivered. The braised beef cheek was fantastic and stuffed in the pasta pillow was a perfect bite. - Spicy rigatoni: An excellent rendition of a spicy rig. If you like the dish, you'll like this dish. - Pork shank: Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. If you're on the fence about a main vs more pastas, get it. It's worth it. - Lemon tart: Perfect way to end the meal, my friends recommended and they were right. Drinks wise, I got the Nancy Silverton which is a martini (it's fun how all the cocktails are named after LA chefs) and hit the spot. All in all, everything slapped and it was a rare evening with no misses. El Segundo really got a neighborhood gem and I guess I'll be here next time I visit my friends. read more

We sat outside in a nice little patio. We all three ordered beverages, and the two of us ordered the same beverages, one didn't come for like 10 minutes after the first one. I would not recommend the lemonade, as it is very tart. I ordered the mushroom lasagna and asked if I could have an aside of vodka sauce because I have to eat wet food otherwise I get sick. The server said no issues. When the meal came I got a small 2 ounce ramekin of sauce. I asked if I could have four more as I ordered a side of sauce. She said I can only give you one more. It was very frustrating because I made it a point when I ordered that I needed to have something with a lot of sauce, even if it was extra sauce on the side. They brought out two additional 2 ounce ramekins of sauce. It wasn't enough to eat the dinner with and it was rather frustrating that they couldn't meet my dietary restrictions. My partner ordered the squid ink pasta and really enjoyed it. Personally, since they were so unaccommodating with my dietary restrictions after my food came, I will not be returning. read more
