My favorite part about coming here is the feeling of honesty when it comes to your personal dental care requirements. I've never felt like i was being sold on unnecessary procedures like Ive had at OTHER dentists office. Ive never felt discomfort with any procedure done, i think they do a pretty good job at being gentle and not being too rough, everything is done with great care. Once I got called in everything was handled in a timely matter. I had to go in twice since it was a long procedure but both times I was treated as well and everyone was super helpful. This was my first time visiting Long Beach Dental. My insurance is an HMO, so I mostly chose it because it was in-network and close to my home. When I made the appointment, I informed reception that I was in need of a simple resin bonding, as my previous one had fallen out. This is a super simple procedure and I should have been in and out fairly quickly. Tech took the x-rays and I assume the doctor had a look at them, however as soon as he entered the room he claimed my chip had gotten bigger since it was initially bonded and he could not use a resin bonding to fix it. He suggested veneers (didn't even look at my teeth before this initial suggestion), which are significantly more expensive and not covered by my insurance. I knew this wasn't my only option, so I pushed back and asked why he couldn't do the resin bonding. He claimed it would never work and if he did try it on my tooth it may only last a week. When I told him my previous resin bonding lasted nearly 15 years and was done in South Korea, he claimed dentists in South Korea "don't have any standards". I assured him that South Korea is indeed a first world country with perfectly trained, capable dentists and he put his hands up and said, "I'm just one dentist." This dude is a scammer. I feel like he was only interested in trying to sell me on expensive veneers when a simple, cost-effective option was totally available. Oh, and the office is uncomfortably dingy. read more

This is the worst dentist office I've ever been to. I went in to get a consult for 2 implants. The dr was so condescending and rude, I left. He made snide, rude remarks and didn't even remember the "first" advice he'd given me. He told me to get a bridge done. I did and then he told me I shouldn't have. This guy is a COMPLETE idiot! This is the second time I've gone to this office and the second time he's been so offensive, I left. I pity anyone who wastes their time here. I went in to have my teeth cleaned. A lot of the patients in the back were coughing and sneezing. I didn't see any of the patient chairs cleaned with wipes or disinfectant spray after the check up was over. After the radiograph (x-ray) was complete the doctor explained everything and left. After, another staff member came in to tell me what my insurance would cover and what work we should start as soon as possible. I explained that I wouldn't be able to do any work today outside of the teeth cleaning. She left and came back in to tell me they "wouldn't have time" to clean my teeth. My first time visiting Long Beach Dental was today. Over a week ago I scheduled a routine cleaning for 11AM and today I arrived at 10:57AM. There were two ladies in front of me when I arrived. I was the only black male present (not saying that matters but I'm just giving my POV of the situation) another patient walked in much later after me (not African American but was indeed disabled) so there were 4 of us that I know of that got assisted. I waited in the lobby for an hour before being called to the back where I received my X-rays. After the X-rays I was then escorted to where I thought I'd be getting my cleaning. Doctor ReZkalla entered the room, looked at my teeth told me that I had no cavities and I do a good job with keeping up with my teeth. As he left out and announced he would return, immediately, and I do mean immediately, the front desk worker came in and told me they were too busy to clean my teeth today & asked could I come back another day. I didn't say much I just signed my papers and walked out. I did notice as I was walking out that everyone including the guy who came in after me were in their chairs getting dental work done from what I could see, they might've told them that they were too busy and asked them to leave as well, I'm not sure I didn't stick around to see. Maybe your experience will be different but I've never in all of my life experienced anything remotely like that from a Dental office. Very Disappointing and wasteful of my very valuable time. read more

This dentist is about 3 houses down from my apartment. The main dentist, i don't even know his name because he spoke to me for maybe 3 min. Gave me a tablet with a video, walked away... and came back and said have a nice day. The "lab fees" are garbage and when I spoke to my insurance provider they advised that this isn't a valid fee. 3 different $300 dollar "lab fees". I would suggest you don't go here unless you want a disingenuous dentist that can't even explain what a bridge is, instead plays you a generic video. Finding a trustworthy Dentist is very hard. Just like finding a mechanic. So based on my insurance I chose this place back in 2011. I have been coming to see Dr. Razkalla since then. He was awesome bedside manners. He's very knowledgeable and very honest. I'm in the medical field, not dentistry but he explains findings very thoroughly and he will tell you if he recommends another expertise to take a further look like a root canal or implant. I have a million dollar mouth. I've been having problems since childhood. So I need someone who I can really trust Today just came in for cleaning and they did a great job as usual. Carmen is awesome. She just knows everyone's name. They are very busy so when you have an appt keep it. My wife sees him too and loves him. I just had a wonderful first visit! Here is the summary with details to follow. - friendly, professional, personable, respectful - accommodating with appointment times - clean and comfortable - short wait time compared to other dentists I called at 10:30 am to see if it was possible to move my noon appointment up an hour. The person I spoke to was very kind and professional, and I was informed that there were no cancellations. I received a call back 20 minutes later letting me know that I could come in earlier! Parking was easy to find and readily available. The waiting room had very comfortable, socially distanced seating. I was greeted as soon as I arrived and given the paperwork to complete, which was easy to read and clearly highlighted. I did write in a request to add a third gender option. I had another friendly greeting and a positive x-ray experience. I was provided with hand sanitizer immediately when requested, and my questions about the cleaning were clearly and patiently answered. I went directly to the room for my cleaning, and I had an extremely short wait between my initial cleaning and seeing the doctor. The doctor was very personable and attentive. I sensed that all of the employees at every level worked well together and had mutual respect for one another. I was given dental goggles and had the option to watch tv, look at the nice light covers, or enjoy something on my own device. I just wanted to get a cleaning, and when I originally made the appointment I was not informed it's up to the dentist if there's time for that. I'd been going to the same dentist my whole life, so I didn't know they'd start with a consultation and X-rays. Had I been told that in the beginning, I would've changed the date of my appointment from the start. 5 years ago I was looking for a dentist through my dental insurance. Everyone wanted to charge me between $1200-$1600 for what many of them said, I needed a root canal, and a crown. I felt like I was at a Used car lot having to buy my first car. Trying to sell me a Bill of goods. When I came here I told them I had no dental insurance. They were very nice and did the exam. Told me I needed a crown and that was all. When I told him about the other dentist recommendations he frowned and said all I needed was the crown and was sorry to hear that the others were creating issues that weren't needed. Dr. Rezkalla saw me after x-rays were taken. By the way, a renovated closet with the barber chair is kind of creepy for an x-ray area. It's like a bad flashback to the 80s. Brought several x-rays from my early years since my teeth have challenges. He practically ignored them. OK fine. He took a mirror, looked at my bite a couple of times found one cavity, which I know there are more, and dismissed me. Didn't check my gum depth or anything. Wanted to schedule me for a cleaning when I know for a fact that I am due for a deep cleaning. Tried to tell me that they were the same. I made an appointment for a cleaning (as a new patient). I arrived ten minutes early, waited patiently for over an hour, then was taken for a huge x-ray series (presumably because I was a new patient, but I thought it excessive), waited again to see the dentist, who examined me and told me it was too late to get my teeth cleaned because his staff had to go to lunch. I have Liberty Dental Insurance through my employer, and in the past had terrible experiences with the dentists in Long Beach who accept my plan. I've been to this office twice and have had a preliminary exam, X-rays, a cleaning, and two fillings done. The office is in an old building and some of their equipment is dated. However, the space is clean and welcoming. Carmen and the rest of the staff have consistently been polite, organized, and friendly. The dentist moves quickly from patient to patient but doesn't make me feel as if I'm just a dollar sign. I like that they accept Care Credit, since my dental plan isn't great and I will need a crown done in the future. Their pricing is on par with other offices in the area. I'm quite happy with their service so far and would continue to see them even if my plan didn't require me to. read more
