I am extremely disappointed with Corner Joy. I bought my daughter-in-law a $62 gift card so she could enjoy a relaxing visit as a busy mom of two kids under three. Instead, she was shamed over her tip. She tipped $18 (totaling $80), and staff told her she should have tipped $38 because she used a gift card. That is completely inappropriate. A gift card is payment, and tipping is not something customers should be pressured about. What should have been a relaxing experience turned embarrassing and upsetting. SHAME on you, Corner Joy. I went to this nail salon for a while and may be back if I don't have my daughter with me. They generally do a nice job on their gel pedicures. They have a nice menu of variations of offerings for the treatment/experience ranging from bare bones to the deluxe menu. I don't have a set nail tech and they all do a nice job. The reason for 1 less star is that they literally roast you for picking colors they don't personally like and try to convince you not to get them LOL On a more serious note, and the reason I decided to take a break from coming here is that they pushed and pushed and pushed to do gel on my 8 year old's nails. I said several times that she's too young and I don't want her to have it. After so much pushback, they ended up doing it anyway on two fingers of each hand where she had designs done, and told me after they did it that it was easier to do the designs that way. I made it more than clear that I did not want this for the safety of my child's nails. I felt that was pretty disrespectful. read more

This was my first time at this particular salon and although it is not far from me, I most likely won't be returning. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly and everyone was nice. I told them I wanted just a basic pedicure. I'm expecting so I didn't want any gel light or soaking of acetone the next time I visit. I sat and the lady handed me the card with the different prices, $25 for basic which is what I wanted but she was pretty pushy on telling me to get the next one which was $30. So I thought why not, it's been a minute and maybe I need callous remover. Then, when it was time to paint my nails she was pushing me to get gel..she said it'd be easier for me to leave cause I came in with tennis shoes. I told her no I don't want it cause I don't want to soak my toes in acetone because I'm pregnant. I don't know if she didn't understand or refused to understand. Even the nice woman getting her nails done next to me had to intervene and say "she does not want gel." The worker seemed annoyed that I didn't want gel which I have no idea why. Yes, you lose out on a few bucks but you're basically losing me as a customer by your aggressiveness. I got my pedicure and waited and waited and asked if I could have a pair of disposable slippers (the other nails salons I've been to always have these readily available and even put them on for customers). I was handed them and the worker left. I waited 10 more mins and came to the conclusion that no one one was going to help and so I put them on myself (I'm pregnant so it was pretty uncomfortable). Also good to note they were very accommodating and quick to help me reach for my purse when it was time to pay. Some workers were very nice but I feel that the one who helped me was very pushy. They sat me down in a pedicure chair for 45 minutes before they started any service on me. The pedicure was great. The manicure was not great. The technician cut 2 of my cuticles and laughed about it. My thumb nail is filed crooked. The tech doing my hands was unsteady. I recently visited Corner Joy Nails and Spa with my daughter after calling and getting prices for a full set, a gel pedicure, and a gel manicure. Unfortunately the owner, "Hunter", charged me a lot more than the amount I was quoted over the phone and was unprofessional and aggressive when I questioned why he was charging me $182.00! He insisted that I received a full set of acrylic nails just like my daughter? I thought maybe he is confusing me with someone else because clearly I did not get acrylic nails! I got a gel manicure with the dnd GEL color 6565 bare neutral and my nails are short and natural! He kept insisting that my nails were more that what was quoted because they did a full set on me instead??? Then he said my daughter's nails were a lot more too because she got "long" acrylics! I said she got them shorter than when we walked in and you did not say anything about them being more than the quoted price! I obviously got scammed by this nail salon! They are not honest or upfront with their services, pricing, and clearly view gel as a full set of acrylics! They also made me wait over an hour to do my nails as they kept taking other people who walked in after me! There is no air conditioner, they do not offer you water, and they had flies all over the place! Avoid this nail salon unless you like being scammed! Worst nail salon I have ever been to! read more

I just left Corner Joy. First impressions? Very clean, peaceful, and friendly environment. Lihn did my pedicure. I've never had someone more thorough do my nails. She carefully cut the cuticle at every step, went above and beyond, and was so friendly. Everyone there was nice! The owner really takes his time to get to know everyone. The nice lady sitting next to me had very specific requests and she herself said she "was a pain", but they handled her with care and respect and she felt heard. I know that this is how every establishment should handle business, but unfortunately, we don't get that treatment so often. I do not like to leave negative reviews. I really want to be able to say I had a good experience. The two staff who did my hands and feet were nice enough. They didn't try to upsell me - which is a big pet peeve for me. I can't, however, recommend using them. While my pedicure turned out fine, the manicure is terrible. I asked for a pink and white gel manicure. I blame myself for not scrutinizing my nails more closely while I was in the salon. Everything looked fine when I left. Later, I happened to look down at my hand and could see that the sides were a mess. Almost every nail is not properly finished. You can see from the pictures how poorly they were done. I only added a couple of pictures and each is a different finger, but they are all the same. I find it hard to believe that a professional would be proud of this work and allow their client to leave the salon like this. It's too bad because I would likely have returned otherwise. read more

The girl who did my nails kept cutting my cuticle to the degree that my fingers looked red, inflammed, and bleeded. Also at the end, my nails looked chunky and not natural at all. I really wanted to like this place and for the most part, I did. I had Helen and she was so friendly! She painted a little too far down from the cuticle for my liking and I definitely waited too long to tell her, but instead of just painting a little more to the cuticle and leaving some space, she painted all the way to the skin. I get my nails dipped, & for me, they last ~3 wks before I need a fill. Natalie usually does my nails & is awesome. HOWEVER, they are always.late by 20 mins on my appointments. This most recent appt I decided to comi in 10 mins late...called and let them know and asked if I had to wait. They said no. 7 mins later...here I am waiting 20 mins AND I came late. If I had come on time, I'd be 30 mins waiting! If I charged them by the hour I would have a free manicure. They never tell you when they're going to be late. And although they may do a good job it's not worth waiting and being late 30 to 40 minutes. I decided this was my last time to have my nails done here. It's too bad because Natalie is really nice but they just run so late. They should just tell you they're going to be late or appointment. read more

Ahhh finally I find a nail salon with good prices and with great customer service! I rarely get my nails done so when I do, I am very picky. It's very dead right now because of the pandemic but I did not mind at all because no wait plus peace & quiet. Lyn did my gel pedicure and Helen did my gel manicure. Lyn did an amazing job on my gel pedicure, I feel feminine again hehehe. I had a terrible nail job done because my cousin practiced on me this past weekend and Helen had the patience to take it off, she was very thorough and kept making sure I was okay during the whole process. I mean, it was really bad so Helen came to the rescue. The customer service was awesome no doubt! Two reasons why I'm taking off one star is because it was hot and there was no music/entertainment going on, Helen did explain to me they were fixing something with the power. She was nice enough to turn a small fan on for me which did help. The other reason was because there was some nasty freaking mosquitos that kept attacking the hell out of me and I believe I got bit with a total of 10 times. I wish I was kidding BUT I do have to give it to both of these sweet ladies because they gave me something to rub on my bites and it gave me relief. Thank God! Just kinda bummed my anniversary is tomorrow and my legs are all screwed up fron all the bites :/ I did let Hunter (the owner) know about it and he did apologize. They were all VERY friendly and also made my boyfriend feel at home so they did make me overlook all of that to the point where I will definitely come back & give them another chance. But now I know I probably will have to wear some kind of repellent when I go. read more

They greet you by your name, making you feel very welcomed. My pedicurist Helen she's delightful, very greeting and jolly. I went in for a mani/pedi today, looking through the menu, I inquired about the deluxe combo @ $65, the pedicurist was explaining what's included & said with gel the service would total $90. I was trying to understand the pricing & the break down of charges for "gel" (an extra $25). The owner, Christine, got involved in the discussion, once she was done explaining the crazy rational behind the extra charge, she YELLS at me, in a full salon, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND"? Yes, Christine, I understand very well. Now, do you UNDERSTAND this - I will never again spend a dime @ your business. After religiously visiting every 2 weeks for I don't know how long - I was outraged with her disrespectful tone & approach. Perhaps a reminder is needed that this is 1 of 100 nail salons in a 2 mile radius. I also got a basic pedicure, & still felt like I had a luxurious experience at the base price! The rates are also really affordable, as I paid $90 for French tip acrylics & a pedicure! After i showed her a pic of french tip like how then she proceeds to do the most fattest ugliest french tip i have ever seen!
