Today i went in with my last $20 and got 3 bagels and 2 Nedquick milks. Sadly i was over by 0.64 cents but the cashier was kind enough to round it down so i could pay! It might be because i come here very often, but it was very nice of them. They were about to throw out bagels so they gave me a whopping 10 bagels!! I wish i had more money cause I would definitely have tipped them more then I did. Disorganized and understaffed with long wait times and not great service. Bagels are decent but the sandwiches are very expensive for what you get. We placed an online order for a couple of chicken sandwiches and it seemed like we threw the staff for a loop by doing that. Order was 20 minutes late for pick up time but no one apologized - there were 10 people waiting a long time for their food on a Friday morning. The food really wasn't worth the wait or the price. We were in the area so my son could visit his old college and see some faculty for future endeavors. We arrived to the area early so I suggested we grab some brekkie before his appointments. We looked for a breakfast place and found LIBC. It was nearby by so we drove there, parked in their small lot on the side of a mall and walked in. They have a decent space and you can tell that they're very popular. There were many people dining inside as well as lots of people that came in to order take away. The menus looked really good. The first item I noticed was the Novalicious that is served on an everything bagel, with nova lox/belly, tomato, onion, cucumber and scallion cream cheese. It also comes with your choice of side. My son ordered this and had cole slaw on the side. The sandwich looked and tasted great but the cucumber slices were sliced pretty big. I opted to customize my order and got a whole wheat flagek with scallion cream cheese, lox, Dill, capers and red onion. It was perfect. I prefer falgels because sometimes a bagel is just too much, especially when you're adding stuff to it. My order also came with a side so I got their cucumber dill salad. It was not what I expected but tasted good. Everything they serve is made in house, even the bagels. The guy that served us told me they kettle cook their bagels which makes them stand out from the rest. The bagels are soft and fluffy and light. All of their cream cheese options looked amazing. They even have a bacon garlic variety. Their salads looks really good also. I was eyeing their chicken salad but couldn't buy since it would have been sitting in the car for a few hours. We wanted to come back before the drive home but time was not on our side. Hopefully I find myself in the area again and if so, I will definitely return for some stuff to take home. I haven't really found a worst bagel store than this one. Long Island has some of the best bagel places around and stores abound...sometimes 3 to 4 in the same town. We ordered egg sandwiches which were just OK nothing to write home about. Being from Long Island we're used to flippant service at most Bagel stores...so to us the server's non caring attitude was OK...but the food! The egg sandwich does not come with coffee...lol it's expensive...we had a bunch of muffins which look great from behind the glass but were all stale and disgusting. We spent over $ 40 in all which was outrageously expensive and if the food would have been good, it may have been worth it...but it's not...this place is fake and what I mean by that is that it's bright and seemingly clean but it's all for show...its a facade! read more

This spot is okay. The bagels and cream-cheese are good but I think there are many similar bagel shops at a lower price point. The cream cheese was nice and airy; not too heavy and too my liking. I would say the service isn't particularly nice. Ordering at the window was tough when they are busy and they are impatient (ex: my friend wanted an eggless bagel and the person by the counter took that question as a sign that she was not ready to order and got visibly frustrated for the additional time it took). My wife and I go to the LI Bagel Cafe Rt 347 in Stony Brook on a Sundays around 1:00 pm after church services. The selection of bagels is poor...most baskets empty, only one or two types of bagels available. The food in the refrigerated section behind the glass is covered with clear cellophane. Coffee is either out or cold. The hospitality there is not good...not friendly. We were at Bagel Cafe this past Sunday Sept 15, 2024 1:00 pm and as the young girl on the register was ringing up two bagels with cream cheese for us, I asked what time they closed. She said 3 PM. I stated you are open for another hour and a half and there isn't any coffee in the urns. I commented about the coffee two times. She apologized and said she has nothing to do with the coffee. At that time, an older man (possible owner/manager) was taking money from the cash register listening to the conversation. As I was turning away from the counter, the man with an annoyed voice said: "You want coffee, I'll make coffee for you." I said not to bother. My toasted bagel was warm and I did not want to wait for a pot of coffee to brew. It should be hot and available. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING THERE. Bagel places are on every corner and strip mall on Long Island so it's pretty hard to stand out and this place does: excellent bagels and spreads. They also have a wide variety of sandwhiches, snacks and drinks. And they have some great throwback drinks including Orangina and Yoohoos (sorry for the spelling). Service is great, though it can be a bit delayed if you're there during a rush. Clean somewhat large space to eat in the deli if you wish, but they also pack up the take-out well by wrapping warm sandwiches and bagels in foil and cold sandwhiches in a nice container with their side salad of your choice. read more

Typical Long Island bagel store: good bagels, good coffee, nice set up, efficient service, ample seating. What more could you really ask for? They have a lot to choose from for breakfast and lunch as well as deli-type options like sandwiches and wraps but I'm not a huge fan. Nothing to rant and rave about (I've had better bagels - pretty sure it's impossible to get a bad bagel on Long Island) but if you're looking for a quick, decent breakfast, this is a good choice.
