I've recently moved over here so this is the closest bagel spot I've got; while it should be no surprise that the train station bagel shop isn't mind blowing & I can confirm this isn't the best bagel shop in the world, I really like what I get. They always make my o er easy eggs nice and runny, the egg everything, toasted and scooped with BEC & garlic herb cream cheese... it hits the spot every time. I'm charged over $8 for it which is depressing but it's nice to have in the immediate area and when showing up early at the train station (rarely early to anything, more like missed the last train and have to wait for the next) I walk over and my order is ready fast, simple spot without frills, I'm a fan and I think when station yards gets in they'll gave a big influx in customers... I'd think about changing my business plan... actually, I'd like to discuss with them an additional late night business plan. read more

I didn't have high expectations for this bagel spot located at a train station but my bagel was pretty darn good. I ordered an egg everything lightly toasted with vegetable cream cheese. Service was good. The staff member was helpful and greeted me immediately as I walked in. Grandparent with child was told not to come back because they didn't make the sandwich correctly which happens OFTEN aside from always having eggshells in it which we never complain about. You can see from several reviews that they always mess up orders. Also what a shame to tell a customer with a small child not to go back. Thank you for setting a wonderful example to the child on how to handle business and how to tell customers not to go back because YOU can't get orders right. It's gotten worse. The bagel I received this morning was old and tough to eat. I also specifically asked for my bagel to be toasted with plain cream cheese and what I got was a rubbery, untoasted old bagel with sour tasting vegetable cream cheese. Didn't notice the poor quality or wrong order until my train left already, as such I couldn't even go back and ask them to give me what I ordered. All in all, I ended up getting ripped off for $6 (!!!) inedible food and had to pay for a second breakfast when I got to the city. Boo this place. Boo it so, so hard. read more

The worst service I've ever had in any restaurant food, staff very rude and disrespectful. that that restaurant be closed instead of anybody eating manager was the worst out of everybody there she made wrong. Super quick service, friendly staff, and everything cooked and assembled to order, right in front of you. Third time here, the bagels are decent enough. I live close by and when in a pinch, this place comes in handy. First time I went the place was packed. Food surprised me a bit as I was expecting worse. Second and third time here, no Salt Pepper Ketchup on the bacon egg and cheese. Is this something that a bagel place should get wrong twice? Over the years I'd probably say my experience would account for an average three-star review, but the woman serving me today was so friendly, quick and pleasant that I decided to upgrade them to four stars. One thing is obvious - it's super conveniently located for picking up a bite to eat before getting on the train into NYC. They are right across from the parking garage, and close to the ticket office /machines, so it's easy to get a nice breakfast before embarking on your trip. The service is usually straight forward and fast, which really, you can't ask for more than that since most people will be on their way to catch a train. Quick is what you want. They may not always have a smile, but as long as they get you out of there in a timely manner, you really can't expect too much more. The place is small but clean and there's even a few tables if you want to sit and eat. Their bagels are fresh and most of their food is solid... they aren't the best in town but you come in here because of its proximity to the LIRR. Ultimately, it's a good bagel shop to stop into when you want a bite to eat before hopping on the train, or to even take with you for the ride. read more

I don't really have high expectations of train station bagel shops, but I must say that Bagels & Such exceeded them, for whatever that's worth. After an ill-advised evening of excess, I found myself in Ronkonkoma in the AM, in desperate need of a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The lovely lady behind the counter asked if I wanted salt, pepper and ketchup on that. I gave her a look that said, "Of COURSE I need the SPK." She nodded knowingly, and we shared a moment. In another life, we could've been soulmates. As I waited, I marveled at the fact that she knew all her other customers, even calling a few by name. And a few minutes later, she handed me exactly what I needed to feel like a human being again. I regret a lot of things in my life (probably not as much as the guy ahead of me will regret that neck tattoo of that girl's name), but this BEC with SPK is not one of them. read more

I walked in and preceded to pull my money out of my backpack. It was 11:45am, they close at noon, and I was just going in for a buttered bagel and a can of soda. But before I could even finish getting my money out, I was being rushed by the rude lady behind the counter when she said to me in a condescending tone, "Are you getting anything because we're closing soon." - And let's remember I had literally just walked in and went to pull my cash out and haven't even said a single word at this point, but somehow I was beneath this woman and she wanted me to know it! Get over yourself "Karen"! Not only are you no better than anyone else, you're garbage because you think you are! - So I quickly responded yes, and then walked up to the counter to order. I was still respectful and well mannered, even though I felt her looking down on me. I paid $5.09 for a buttered flagel and a small can of soda, which not for nothing seems like a steep price for what I ordered, and I have her $3.09 in change and a $20 bill so I could get $18 back in bills, and she rejected my change and just took what I owed out of my $20. I will never come back here unless it's to stage a boycott against the shameful and disgusting behavior of the staff! read more

Not sure why anyone gave poor reviews. The staff never forget your order. They're very nice & the food is awesome. These are my favorite bagels. The bagels are covered top & bottom. So if you get a garlic (my fave) bagel it's loaded with garlic. I believe they close very early. Earlier than most but they are worth driving to Ronkonkoma Railroad station!! read more

I am so disappointed to see all of these negative reviews. I cannot speak to that, but I love this place and return every time I am in town. This was my go-to before boarding the LIRR for work. The staff are kind, friendly and do the best they can with each wave of new customers, that are usually rushing to get on the LIRR. I'm In town for the holidays and I am returning for my everything bagel, toasted with cream cheese. read more

First the pros: convenient when traveling the LIRR, fast service since they know you're prob catching a train, prices were average Cons: didn't get what I asked for, bagels weren't that good. I will never go to this bagel place ever again. I ordered two bacon and egg sandwiches on a roll with no cheese mind you two large coffees and one apple turnover the guy had the audacity to charge me $35.50. I so desperately wanted to walk out without the sandwiches and without paying but one of the sandwiches with someone's breakfast before getting on the train and going into the city. So I gave this creep his $35.50 with his smirky smug attitude and left his establishment feeling like I was violated. I would never recommend this place in a rush when Dunkin Donuts is only 75 ft away and you can get any one of the same items there. read more

First off lets talk about how over priced this place is. I got 2 eggs with cheese on a roll and it cost $4.05. Are they kidding? I thought she was joking when she told me the price. Now you would think at that outrageously high price you would be getting one of the best sandwiches you've ever had, right? The roll was dry, obviously not fresh, oh and I was here at 8am. Every time I go in here the service is friendly and prompt. The workers remember their customers and what they order. This is the only bagel shop around I will go to. Even with a line of people getting hot brrakfasts you don't have to wait long. I recommend this bagel shop over all others. read more

Rude staff pretty much 9/10 times. If I'm in a rush and don't hit my usual spot(never really go much after they got my order wrong 3 days/times in a row and chalk it up to "didn't understand") The only time I've ever felt any ounce of customer service is when the Owner is there so it makes sense they pretend to try to be nice if he's around but also makes example of how he doesn't know what's going on when he's not around. Had egg shells in my bagel more than 4 times,when told to fry the egg they leave it soft. Bacon tasted burnt/bread is bland. Again this place survives solely because of its location. The service is sub par and quality of food mediocre. Also you'll notice some of them re use their prep gloves which is nasty and unsanitary. I've been in line before where I witnessed a worker with her gloves on touch everything in that counter and prep sandwiches which caused myself and 2 others to walk out. read more

I'd give them minus stars if I could after today. I go there a few times a year and USED to recommend this place but after my experience today I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM BY MY BUSINESS AGAIN!! The older man with the accent was nasty and combative and clearly didn't like being answered back by a woman! I simply told him that my friend and I were paying separate and that is when he decided to get obnoxious and argumentative and kept repeating CASH? are you paying CASH?. When i tried to tell him he was putting my friend's bagel in my bad he said "I've been doing this a long time I don't need YOU to tell me what to do. He made sure he did that AFTER I paid.
