Mos cream cheeses have more flavor than other bagel stores. When I'm craving scallion cream cheese, I want to taste it!

I…read moredesperately want to love the place but we have determined the only thing we like here are the breakfast biscuits. They are amazing... crushes! Crisp, delicate, creamy, savory... big enough to share!!!!!! They also make some killer coffee beverages! I won't say anything negative but the rest is just not for us... not fans of much or anything else and we have purposely had different things each time to explore the menu. Our palates are not aligned and that's fine - more and bigger is not always better. Cute inside and beyond welcoming staff.... Love the biscuits!!!!!!

A tale of two trips (with some pie in the middle) creates this review of Hometown Bakeshop. You see…read moreI completely forgot to write this place up back in July and after visiting them only a few days ago (for a different reason), I realized a review needed to be penned. A four star compilation with mostly positive things to say. Let's get baking. Well, that summer trip actually involved breakfast. My wife and I trekked over to Centerport (on her birthday actually), for a quaint breakfast inside this small bake shop. The menu and its enticing Insta pics really brought us here and so we got both coffee and a morning meal. That aforementioned menu is quite vast and with so much to choose from, we decided to split "The Famished Breakfast" which included all kinds of tasty options (eggs, bacon, pancakes, fried cheese, tostones, and more). To nitpick, some items listed and some that we got weren't exactly the same, but to also be fair, everything was delicious. Equally delicious might be their variety of savory pies. They have so many to choose from, but you have to either call ahead or be lucky with what they have. Two made their way home with us (the piggy mac and the chopped cheese) which were consumed shortly after our visit with both being dense and rich, but definitely tasty. Not as equally delicious might be their coffee. Yeah, I think I've turned into a bit of a snob as these days I'm looking for legitimacy in the coffee itself and not just some pretty pics and cool flavors. Though Hometown has quite a variety of options, I'd say that if you're looking for some strong coffee, this wouldn't be the spot. If you're looking for some great breakfast and crullers, well... And therein lies our most recent trip: crullers. Hometown doles out a plethora of cruller options, but only on Sundays. Get there early (like pre-opening by 15-20 minutes at least) to be sure you snag whichever flavors they're going to have (check Instagram). Knowing we were going to share with a bunch of other people, we chose a dozen to try, but heed my words, these things are gargantuan! Also, they won't last long in preserving so if you have any leftovers, don't expect them to be good past the day you bought them. But in the moment while they're fresh, you'll be in cruller heaven after one bite (especially if you try the death by chocolate one). Overall, hometown Bakeshop is a legitimate place for everything they concoct in an oven (throw in stovetop too). Yeah perhaps their coffee sounds better than it tastes, but that might just be me wanting something a little more coffee forward. Beyond that discrepancy, I'd gladly return to Hometown for breakfast, pies, crullers, or who knows what else? Come and get some!

This is a large location with plenty of seating and plenty of all different kinds of foods. The store is clean and inviting to sit and dine at. I must admit that it was strange coming into my first Bagel Boss that was not Kosher. They are starting to bring in Boars Head meats which I am sure will help these locations. It opens them up to a whole to market. I stop by BB often when I'm in the mood for a GOOD bagel and coffee. Reasonable pricing for their portion size and quality of food. They were having a special on desserts (by one get one free, (higher price prevails) which is a GREAT deal. Since I'm usually here just for a [cream cheese] bagel and coffee I just watched a few people picking up some lunch. This was some good looking food. The teams at BB are always friendly and helpful. I must say, I just enjoy being greeted with a hello and a smile. Team is attentive to needs and I am happy to stop by here. KUDOs to the team at Bagel Boss - East Northport.

The bagel store is in a huge shopping center right off Main Street, hence the name. When you walk in, you have a huge showcase of bagels, deli items, and dessert. You also have a coffee station and a drink station. The place isn't anything fancy and it is low lit. The staff were very nice and I was in and out of the store in five minutes. I ordered two bagels; one egg everything with vegetable cream cheese and one egg with chives. The bagels were absolutely delicious. They were soft, had a lot of flavor, and had the perfect amount of cream cheese. Some bagel stores put too much cream cheese where I feel like I'm eating an entire block and other bagel shops put no cream cheese. I think they did a very good job. Overall, I paid about $11 and change for the bagel, but I really enjoyed it and I would come back

I have had a negative experience 5+ times before I decided to update this review. For starters, even though this place opens 6am majority of the bagels aren't event ready until 7 or 8 so forget even ordering food at that time. Additionally, everytime I ask for the dairy-free cream cheese the counter guy complains and tries to say they ran out because it's too difficult for him to get it from the back and mix in some veggies. If you insist they check they end up having it every time. Additionally, when the owner is there I seem to get charged a few dollars more because he rounds up on the prices for whatever reason. I ended up changing over to Village Bagel & Deli which ended up having even better bagels and vegan options.

The two girls behind the counter were so sweet, welcoming and helpful. I told them I've never been and they took the time to go over the menu and make suggestions. I ordered a toasted marshmallow latte and an açaí bowl. I didn't get a toasted marshmallow taste, but it was still good. The açaí bowl was very good. They have a little menu that you can pick and choose what you want in your bowl. I added some chocolate chips and coconut. It was so fresh, flavorful and filling. There's ample seating and WiFi available. I was able to get some work done while in a peaceful environment. For my medium latte and açaí bowl it was about $15. I'd say that's very reasonable. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.
