IDC what anyone says.. I love long John silvers. I live in Frederick and we used to have one in the mall right across the street where I grew up. They closed it over a decade ago. I was devastated... every time I had a craving I would have to go valley mall in Hagerstown which is about a 30 minute drive but atleast I could spend time at the mall.... Guess what happened.... They closed it DOWN thank the lord this location is still open. Thankfully It's still only a 30 minute drive and located in a decent shopping center. Service was oddly exceptional for a fast food restaurant .... My food was fantastic. There's certain things you cling on to simply because of nostalgia but genuinely there is no other fast food experience in this area like long johns So I will continue to make that drive. I love Long John Silvers, but the service is so bad at this location that it should be shut down. Nearly every time I order from here through DoorDash, the order is either completely wrong or multiple items are missing. The people working there apparently can't read and can't count. I got a completely wrong combo today and had another side missing. Last time, my order was missing HALF of the chicken & fish it was supposed to come with. Whoever owns this location must not care, because this has been going on for a long time and nothing has been done to improve things. If you take a look at the reviews on DoorDash, this is a VERY frequent problem. Fish was hard and dry, sitting too long or fried too long?? No vinegar. 3 people complained while we were there. (I think 6 were there) did not look as if the floor had been cleaned in a month. My significant other was not at all happy. We drive from Hagerstown to eat here, what a royal waste of gas and time. It's no wonder all the LJ'S around here are closing. We used to love Long Johns but it's gotten really bad. It's like the people who own these places don't care anymore and just push out any crap they got onto the customers. I hate this restaurant. The drive thru menu got repaired for a "hot minute" and is ghetto broken Again with a note taped to it Again. This time the note says they have to close at 6pm because they as re changing ownership. I pulled up to the window behind another car and sat there for like 2 minutes and No ONE ever approached the window to tell or ask the hungry customer they need to be served inside. I am on a limited diet due to stomach surgery weeks ago, but I was able to get a grilled talapia, rice, and mixed veggies for $5.99 that wasn't too bad, and all of that is on my limited diet. The meal was presented in a microwavable dish, so methinks it's all prepared offsite for microwave re-heating. It was allright tasting, and OK value as compared to the greasy hamburg chains. But actually, you can get much the same at the grocery store too, so if you are looking for something special, it's not here apparently. read more

Every time my family goes here it's always fresh, quick and tastes great. The service is awesome too.

If you are brave enough to eat here you may want to check your order before you leave. I think they use the common core method of math for counting. My last two visits here I've added a piece of something or other only to find when I got home that I had been charged for it but hadn't received it. I was thinking about going to LJS in Martinsburg for lunch this afternoon (never been there), so this morning before work, I pulled in to look at the menu at the drive-thru. It was disgusting. The panels were broken, the speaker was dangling down, and there was a tattered sign that instructed the customer to pull up to the window to order. Then, at the window, more disgusting visual stuff. Signs were haphazardly taped to the window. The whole area was filthy and in need of cleaning and painting. When I got to work this morning, I thought I'd call corporate office and alert them to the disaster in Martinsburg. I went to the corporate website and clicked on "contact us". That prompted me for the store number located at the top of my receipt. Since I hadn't bought anything, and had no receipt, I looked on the page, and it said "Click here if you don't have a store number." I did this, then entered my city's zip code, but was told no store was located in my area. I tried entering my city and state - same thing. So, complete disrepair of the exterior of my local LJS. This is not a review of a "one time visit". They now close before 9 pm on a Friday night, as a result of being such a terrible place to try to get some decent food. Tried to order at 8:45 and they served the car before us, but informed us they are now closing early due to lack of business. All I can figure is the franchise owner is going through a divorce or wanting to claim a terrible loss on taxes. This used to be one of my favorites in town. Last dozen times I have been here the last two years, I wish they were not even in business, so I wouldn't bother to waste the money thinking they had changed for the better. Will never visit this location again! My husband and I decided to get Long John Silvers since I hadn't had it in years and wanted something different. We pulled up to the drive thru since we had groceries in the car and wanted to be "quick". The drive thru only had 2 cars in front of me at the time. Got thru the order and then pulled up to window and payment was taken at 6:50pm. We waited a few mins and were fine with that thinking our food was just going to be extra fresh and hot. 10 mins went by and still were sitting at the window. During that time several employees walked right past the window not seeming to act knowledge the drive thru and that I had been waiting. Then another 10 mins went by, we're talking 20 mins sitting at the drive thru window with still no food or to be acknowledged once. Finally a lady that appeared to be working the registers alone in the restaurant came over and apologized saying everyone inside was being taken care of with the "all you can eat" and that they were short on cooks. That is all fine and dandy, but I had told the woman that someone should of in that time at least had the decency to come over and let me know that they were running behind due to lack and of staff and "thank you for my patience or something". Due to their lack of acknowledgement and horrible horrible customer service I will never go there again or recommend anyone to go there. I work in the member service industry and giving the best customer service is everything to me. Clearly this location and it's employees could learn a thing or two. read more

The most interesting disaster of a fast food joint I have seen since I worked at a Taco Bell back in 2002. I'm sort of wondering where the management is at this place. Are the owners still alive? I mean every now and then I get a craving for that deep fried fatty goodness that is long john silvers, and regardless of the condition of this place I still go back!? I knew the first time I showed up and the drive through window had been beaten to hell by some savages that it was gonna be good! Good in the comical sense. You had to sorta pull up to the window and hope someone would notice you there and eventually take your order... But the last time I was there, that was special too. last time I was there and they were open for dinner service(sometimes there open, other times their not) I walk in and it's totally empty. Mostly dirty, but totally empty. So I start to wonder whether they are really open this time. A little time goes by... Oh here we go, little miss thing steps out from somewhere between a fryer and teenage wasteland to greet me! Success! Anyways I get my fried chicken, my fried shrimp, french fries, and my hush puppies a little while later and I'm happy as a clam. I'm all alone eating now and really trying to gorge myself so I slow down a little and I start to think that sitting here all alone in this quiet, desolate, beat up and dirty LJS all by myself is a little eerie. No workers to be seen, no patrons, not even a little Muzak. I still remember that one greasy hand print smeared on the window as I took it all in. But whatever the taste of that oh so good fried chicken drenched in cocktail sauce had me riding on a cloud. And next thing you know it a van with 2 teeny boppers in it shows up. They come in acting wild and obnoxious and then proceed to glance at me before they dip behind the counter. Or wherever they went... they were gone for what seemed like 5 or 10 minutes. But whatever I'm scarfing down my fries and crunchy grease chunks by this point and can start feeling that uneasy food coma rolling in.. And just like that the 2 girls roll out, bags of fried goodies overflowing, screaming "My moms not gonna wanna wait in the car forever!" She must have been the driver of said minivan. Anyways, if your bored and don't mind a little adventure check this little place out. As good of fried food as any I suppose. Just be ready for anything, including botulism. I don't assume this place will be with us much longer. But it beats driving to Hagerstown, believe me, that place ain't no jem either. read more

Please take note, this review is about the service of the place, not the food....the food was good (in terms of fast food).....however.....this was simply a completely and totally surreal experience I experienced today in this place. I walked in (with my mom and dad) and we went up to order....we asked if we could substitute one type of fish for another in one of the baskets, only to be told "that would be very expensive to do"....well, taking out the fact that it probably costs the place about 60 cents to do this, it was a little jarring to be basically be treated like we could not afford to do it......this was the highlight of the service we received.....I went and sat down with my mom and as her and I were sitting there waiting for the food, I notice an employee walk over and put a "Closed" sign on the door (this was about 3:00 in the afternoon!)....fast forward about 5 minutes....and we are still sitting there waiting for food....when an employee walks by, we ask her about the food we can clearly see sitting up on the window, and she says "I wanted to bring everything out together" we tell her no, bring it out when it is ready (yes, I am not even going down path of it took so long to get the food it actually had to be brought to us) and then my dad asks her why they are closed, and she says "I don't know, it is my first day and we are just shut down"...yeah, real confidence inspiring...so my dad and I's food finally arrives, so we eat, and the whole time the manager it just standing there doing absolutely nothing....we finish and leave, and as I walk out, I go to the other door and see the place was actually shut down by the health department!!! And this happened BEFORE we even got our food because there were people coming up and knocking on the door to be let in while we were sitting there waiting for our food, so instead of just telling us they were closed when we first got into the place, they served us knowing they were not supposed to because of their health violations. read more

My second review on this restaurant, and let's hope it doesn't disappear like my previous ("not recommended review"). Gave this place another try two nights ago. The drive-thru lane moved measurably faster than my last attempt and my order was complete. What I found was that my meal was inedible, overcooked fish to the extreme (literally it was 1/4" thick it had been so over fried). I was hungry, and tried to eat the fish, but it was so flat and dry, in total opposition to what LJS's usually produces. Frustrated, I drove all the way back to LJS and received a refund. It was my first time inside the store and it was disgusting, the long service counter was littered with food debris and trash. I have always loved LJS, but this store continues to disappoint and serve subpar meals (perhaps only in the drive thru since one generally doesn't inspect their food then and there). read more

This was TERRIBLE. I do not recommend this place to anyone!! We walked in and ordered (there were five of us) and got our orders wrong. Were there for 30 mins. Didn't get one apology, the lady's threw the food at us. As making our food, the two ladies in the back they are talking about having sex with their significant other... Who wants to hear that before they eat??? And, instead of calling out numbers, they yell what is in the bag. Ridiculous. Don't go here if you want good customer service, because you will NOT get it. I am a regular customer of Long John Silvers, sometimes visiting the Charlestown, WV location 2 or 3 times a week. Today, I tried the location in Martinsburg, WW. It was 6:05pm when I placed my order of 2 fish and 3 shrimp. The employee said she would bring my order out to me. 3 or 4 minutes later, she brought me my order saying they 'owed me a fish' meaning they were still cooking it. I proceeded to eat what she brought me. 20 minutes later, I finished and continued to wait. The same employee had given between 6 and 9 customers their orders, many with fish and one gentleman ordered 8 fish. After 5 more minutes of staring at the employee, I walked up to the counter. The girl asked me what I would like. I told her I wanted my fish. She asked what fish. I told her the fish she told me she owed me. Immediately, she went and got my fish, saying 'they (meaning the cooks) had not told her it was ready'. However, they didn't have to tell her about the orders of all the customers she served after I came in. I would be happy with only visiting the Charlestown location, however I will be moving to the northern part of Martinsburg so that is the location I WILL BE frequenting. Every time I receive bad service, I am going to report it here, the corporate offices and other places on the Internet. The Charlestown location has easily seen me spend $70 a month for the past 3 months. read more
