ANOTHER thing that just came up: Last year, they set me up with "Care Credit", a credit card you use to pay medical bills. Yesterday, they charged me $478 for "deferred interest" on approx. $1000 Bal. I was told I signed up for a promotion that deferred interest, but I didn't realize it. I was getting "min. interest" billed every month (a couple dollars) so the balloon pmt. came as a total shock. DONT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO "CARE CREDIT."

Shortly after, I experienced severe cold sensitivity and pain when chewing. I returned twice between July and October and was only told the tooth needed filing and to try Sensodyne - no further evaluation was done. I eventually sought a second opinion, where X-rays showed the filling was not sealed properly and decay had not been fully removed. The filling had to be redone, and I later needed an emergency root canal after my bottom molar died and caused a systemic infection. I will now also need a root canal on the top molar. Neither tooth caused issues before the original fillings. I've been a patient here since childhood, but this experience has cost me over $4,000 and months of pain. I do not trust the quality of care and cannot recommend this office.

The problem is, when I went to retrieve my dental records, THEY REFUSED TO GIVE THEM TO ME. This was quite a problem for me, extremely frustrating, and the new dentist had to be able to figure out everything. The records were promised to me at first, and they sent an X-ray and the rude office staff said "that's all you're getting, that's all we have to do," My teeth are quite complicated due to surgeries. The office manager was unavailable many times, and never returned phone calls. After this horrible situation, THEY ARE GETTING A ZERO RATING. I brought my child to this practice a year or so ago because of their surgical availability. The experience I had with my child getting some fillings done was excellent. The follow up in the Bridgeport office? Again, excellent. This review is strictly for the Shelton office. That office cares more about legal liability and billing than they do about your child. I have serious reservations about unnecessary dental procedures for my child. With all of the information coming out about fluoride, as a concerned mother, I have opted out of fluoride for my child...no biggie but if you are the same, be warned - their only concern is that they are the "experts" and you are moron who drools on yourself. They were condescending when I brought up my concern and made me sign a waiver to remove their legal liability. OK. Strike One. At our most recent visit, the hygienist explained that it is standard to X-ray your child (even if there is no concern) at the age my child is. I explained I am not ok with exposing my child to radiation unless it is absolutely necessary. This time I was again given a waiver and condescension. Strike two. There will be no strike three. I will not be bringing my precious child back to a place that places billing for unnecessary X-rays and avoiding legal liability above the well being of my child and I do not think any other parent should either. If there is an issue with any child because of the fluoride THEY RECOMMEND I hope they get sued into oblivion. After COVID these "experts" can go pound sand. A piece of paper does NOT make you smarter or better read than the rest of us. Treat parents with the respect the deserve or go into another business. These people make me sick.

Fast forward 8 months, I went back in for another cleaning. The hygienist did great and was personable. Still needing quite a bit of work, I requested to speak with the dentist. Unlike the first time, she almost seemed bothered and rushed through my questions, giving me no real treatment plan other than saying I need an extraction. Upon checking out, I was informed that I had a "large credit from 8 months ago" but they wouldn't give me an exact dollar amount. Needing to get back to work, I let it go and scheduled my appointment for an extraction. Upon receiving the estimated financials for the extraction, I found that they added $300 x-rays for an implant that I never asked for as well as a $156 "evaluation" fee even though they told me the tooth would be evaluated at my cleaning. I called the office to inquire and they said it must have been a mix-up regarding the implant x-rays and the oral surgeon indeed did charge $156 just for looking at the tooth prior to the $750 extraction. I proceeded to ask why my past credit was withheld from me for 8 months as it would have been useful to pay off a credit card I put the treatment on and was incurring interest. They had no answer other than "I don't know." With all of the odd billing problems, I cancelled my appointment for now. Edit: After contact with the office manager, she was kind and did her best to resolve the issue. She thoroughly explained the situation, apologized for the error and promptly issued me a check for the credit including interest. While I believe its important to highlight the problems, I think it is equally as important to highlight the initiative they took to fix them. I do sincerely thank them for doing their best to resolve the issue in a fair manner. At the end of the day, we are all human and make mistakes. I do believe the location has the potential to be great.

Everything appeared professional and comfortable for the first few visits.....dentist, dental assistants and hygienist were all very accommodating. But, after "paying in full" for all procedures performed after each and every visit (just under 11k year/total).....Then, 4 months later, I receive an email from this "money machine" practice stating that I owe more than $650 for previous procedures performed. Advisory....... When we initial their "estimate" clause, we give this business permission to overcharge. They use the "Good Faith ESTIMATE " law (as leverage) to protect themselves, but they don't follow its intended ethics and morality. Buyer....Be Wary !!

This practice does not have Dr Ganz there anymore. He has retired. The Dentist that has taken over…read moredid not inspire confidence at all. I went in to find out I had an infection. The X-ray showed my tooth had a crack down the center. Dr Yoo suggested several very expensive options when the obvious was to have it pulled. I saw the tooth after the extraction. It was split to the root. I would have been out thru $3,000 worth of dental work only to have to go to the oral surgeon and pay $260 to have it pulled. I will not be going back. It's too bad because Dr Ganz was wonderful.
