Looks like all the construction is done and the parking lot is finally cleared. Finding a handicap spot upfront was easy. It is still a bit of a walk to get to the restaurant. We were not expecting much because of its rating but we were impressed with the service, the food and the value. There were 4 of us and we all loved the She Crab soup!! I got a crab cake sandwich which was huge and delicious, not over cooked like some crab cakes. Also the coleslaw was spicy which I loved but was too hot for one friend. We order a bowl of she crab soup (9/10, wish there was a bit more crab), the lunch special grilled chicken caesar wrap (10/10, & it's served with fries), the longboard club sandwich (9/10, & served with soup) and last but not least, the blue raspberry cosmo, which was strong and delicious (10/10!) Such a cute spot to get food and drinks! I had been eyeing this place for so long and finally got to try it. We went around sunset time and sat outside. The view by the water was so relaxing and cute. We ordered a blue raspberry cosmo (10/10, was strong but still good), Crab mac and cheese appetizer (10/10), Lava burger (7/10, a little bland), and the Fried fish tacos with rice and beans and mac salad (8/10, lacked in flavor a little but was still decent). I revised this a few times to avoid complete frustration. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is great, and the restaurant itself is fine, but the overall experience was disappointing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prices are high, and the happy hour specials aren't actually deals based on my experience. Their draft system was down, so no draft beer was available. That left bottles and cans--the same brands you can buy at a convenience store--marked up roughly four times. If you didn't want basic cheap beer, the only alternatives were extremely overpriced cans at around $11 each. This is not a good spot for anyone looking for value. I was genuinely shocked to walk away with a $54 tab and no food, no discounts, and no accommodation for their system issues. I live in East Beach and won't be returning, nor will many of the locals I regularly talk to. We already choose other places, and this spot doesn't seem to be improving. Between failing systems and no effort to offset the inconvenience with discounts, it feels like they're simply charging more whenever they can. That's not a great approach. There are much better options nearby--Hot Tuna and Stony's are solid choices. Longboards has a lot of work to do to get back into the rotation of go-to spots. Unfortunately, they've landed themselves on the "not worth it" list, and that's not easy to come back from. read more

Wanted a decent place with a friend and boy was I disappointed to the max. Don't let the ambiance by the water and all fool you. We sat down ordered few beers and got our food. Crab dip - creamy and savory! Bread was seasoned with old bay..good, but salty parts. Overall good. Fish and chips - worst I've had in my life. The "fish" was about less than half an inch thick, and didn't fill the breading, which leads me to believe it's been sitting in the fridge and old. That's usually what happens when it's sitting on the shelf. Shrivels up and becomes dry. See pictures. Also, one? I always at a minimum get two. The sides..coleslaw had potential. Good sauce, but you can see the translucent cabbage. It's screaming old vegetables. Would rather have coleslaw from KFC. Fries? Not hard to mess up. It was fine. Service was good. Staff are friendly! This review is not based on their food. I feel the need to also state that I've never left a negative review before this one. I attempted to have lunch here today. There were lots of open seating & it didn't look too crowded. After waiting for the hostess for a bit, she told me there was a 15 min wait for a table & that I could sit at the bar. I politely asked her if I could just sit at one of the available tables. I understood it would be a wait until a server would be able to get to me. She said their policy was to sit people at the bar & then a table. She asked if I wanted to speak to the manager, so I said yes. The manager said that was just their policy, they sit people at the bar & then will seat them at a table (regardless of there being plenty of open tables). I asked her "what about people that don't drink or are sober & forced to sit at the bar?" Again she stated that was just their policy. I thanked her & decided to go elsewhere. I'll probably give them another try because I've heard good things about the food but for now, I'm leaving 2 stars. read more

I've dined here a couple times already and they have a great location looking off the water where everyone has parked their boats out East Beach. Both times, I've dined around the sunset time window. I prefer eating outside because of the view, but I do recommend bringing a sweater because it tends to get chilly from the breezes. Both times I've ordered the hush puppies basket. I've never had hush puppies that delicious before. It's usually the part I eat first just to get it out of the way but they are wonderful. I ordered the bacon and crab dip both times as well. I love it! And the pita chips that come with them are baked to perfection. I learned my lesson from the first time that appetizers are reallyyyy all you need, but I did order the hula burger and even as leftovers it tasted good. It has the teriyaki sauce on the burger along with a pineapple slice for sweetness. I loved it. During my second visit, I didn't order a full entree but I did add the fried fish bites to my order. The remoulade that comes with it is delicious!! I order a side of it for my fries too and another ramekin to bring home. That's how good it is lol The onlyyyyyy downside is that food takes forever to make because the kitchen gets backed up frequently. My friend ordered a to-go order when we were ordering our meal, and by the time we were done eating, we were told the to-go order was going to take another hour. If you have TIME, and good company, the wait isn't too much to mind. But I recommend ordering way ahead of time if you have a limited window to eat. Great place to grab a casual bite to eat with friends! I've dined here a few times and was pretty satisfied each time. What I've discovered.... Wings = 10/10. I've tried the Hula wings and I highly recommend! Sandwiches/burgers = pretty good; I tried the Huli Huli Chicken sandwich. The flavors were good but the sandwich came out kinda cold, like it had been sitting out for a good amount of time. Fried pickles = a classic appetizer. The dipping sauce it comes with is to die for (I'm a sucker for anything 1000 Island-esque). Tucked in the corner between some apartments and condos it actually is in a cool little hidden spot. The view is really nice right on the water overlooking the yacht club. I think I would like to just come here and have a drink at the bar next time. They have a ton of options for a beach style seafood restaurant so don't worry about finding something you'd like they'll have you covered. The food presentation was nice but a little under seasoned for my liking. I had the burrito that definitely filled me up but the tortilla didn't seem cooked, the chicken was warm but the rest was kinda cold. I've been here a handful of times, my most recent visit being on Sunday, June 21st. It was Father's Day and I was picking up dinner for my parents and I figured it would be busy (but so would other restaurants), considering the holiday. I placed my order online around 5:20p and chose to pick up my order at 7:00p - that would give Longboards plenty of time to prepare everything. For pickup, I discovered I had to go to the bar and let them know I arrived for my food. There were 3 bartenders working and all of them were friendly, but my order wasn't ready at the 7:00p time I selected. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal - my only worry was how backed up was their kitchen. Would I have to wait a long time? In the meantime, I opted to grab a bottle of Bud Light, which one of the bartenders was happy to comp. I asked him to break $5 so I could leave a tip but he replied, "But didn't you already leave a tip with your food order?" Upon replying, "Yes," he told me not to worry about the tip, either. He figured it made up for the late order (he was right); less than five minutes after that I was out the door with my order. The food was excellent and the service was great as that bartender went above and beyond to satisfy this customer. Vincent Ranhorn and his team are fantastic in both respects. We've eaten here a few times and always enjoy ourselves. Tonight was our first time eating outside- it was lovely! Great view overlooking the marina. The menu is fairly extensive including seafood, wings, burgers, salads, and a variety of sides. I always order boneless wings with Hula sauce and a side of sweet potato fries. The wings are crispy on the outside and I like the sweet, tangy sauce. Those sweet potato fries are the real star for me. Hot and crispy, tossed in cinnamon sugar and served with a caramel dipping sauce. Yum. My husband ordered a burger topped with crab dip and a side of regular fries. He said it was just okay and that he didn't really taste the crab at all. The prices are a tad high for the food, but the service is good and the ambiance is fun. read more

We had lunch today at Longboards and it was an exceptional experience. I had the crab cake sandwich, and my husband had the tuna sandwich, both were delicious. The crab cake was probably the best I have ever had. It was giant and made with lump blue crab with little filler if any. I could not eat it all, it was that large. Now let me talk about the service - phenomenal! Mandy was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She did an amazing job describing the items on the menu and making recommendations. She was on point on filling up our drinks and checking in on us. When she rang up the check, the receipt came back with a sweet little Christmas card. That was such a nice touch.
