Visited Soiree Bistro last night and had a great time! The staff was super sweet, the ambiance was smooth and sultry (r&b vibes) made for a great after work cool down, the food was good from what my friend states the fish was a tad bit salty but I prefer seasoned food over mid! My only request is that the hookah would be made with the coco nara coals - quick lights aren't my favorite but I won't knock the score because the guy states they use those to provide a quick service! I would recommend to anyone visiting the area! #supportblackbusiness

This place is a total vibe and more people should know about it. I've been hearing about this place for a minute but for some reason, it didn't click that it was so close to the comedy club (Push Comedy Theater) that I frequent. In addition to being a restaurant, they're also a hookah lounge, so when you walk in security checks IDs and pats you down. Now where most folks may associate a security check at a restaurant as something dangerous; however, there is a certain cultural schema that let me know that this food was about to be fye! (Not fire, but FYE!) #IYKYK Our waitress was the nicest and recommended that my friend and I get the seafood over the burger. The shrimp starter was good, especially with some tartar and hot sauce. They seasoned that breading down in the back do you hear me? Same thing with the fish and chips, I need them to drop the recipe so I can recreate their seafood breading at home. My friend didn't listen and got the burger anyway (but in his defense, they were out of the lamb chops he originally wanted). I took a bit of his burger and the burger wasn't bad per se, but I've had better burgers and I enjoyed my seafood more. All in all, Soirée Bistro left me wanting to try more on their menu. I have my eyes on their brunch menu and maybe some of that hookah.

Absolutely delicious! Mimosas were great as well and the eggs taste like Big MAMA herself made them.

What a good time! This place has been on my radar for some time now. My friends and I decided to go on a Friday night for Happy Hour. Upon entering, we were amazed by the appearance. It was classy and nicely decorated. There was also a second floor. Happy Hour is from 5-8. Top Shelf drinks were $6. I ordered the shrimp and fries on happy hour. I think it was around $12. Hookah is $25. The music was great. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I can't wait to go back!

Found this place on "Yelp." As it turned out, I'd been here once before. Didn't eat that first time, so I didn't remember. This location has has several evolutions over the course of time. I believe it used to be "The Garage." I sat at the Bar, and was served by "Krystal;" it was her Birthday. She was wonderful. For me, the Bar program is limited, albeit they offer very creative libations, with varying flavor profiles. There just aren't many options for variety. Example, two Gins: Tangarey and Seagrams. No Bombay, or Hendricks. Also, no Saint Germain; maybe THIS is why I didn't remember the place. Ambiance is cute. Dimmer or softer lighting wouldn't elevate its presentation and "feel" greatly. I ordered a Sweet Tea and Lemonade mixed, half and half; no alcohol. The food. Good. I had the Pork Chop dinner, which I believe was cooked to order, rice, and asparagus. It comes with white gravy and onions. It's a center cut pork chop; you get two. I'd recommend this place. Happy Hour menu is good. Dinner menu is too, although, the price point for the Lamb Chops seemed excessive: $44.00 for four (half rack) lollipop chops...? You can get two full racks at Costco; I digress. Check it out. Especially if you're into '90s R & B music.

Good vibes! I'm not sure if they had a live DJ or a playlist going but the music was good. Food was good, the portion size is great. I got the crab cakes which were really good, the sides could've been a little better my green beans weren't seasoned well & my potatoes were a little undercooked. With large parties it took a while for all my guest to get their food & some of the food wasn't hot coming out.

Been several times and they always aim to please. Chefs kiss to Devin. The food is always impeccable. The music, the staff, it's always a vibe. There's nothing that I've ordered that I didn't enjoy.

Shrimp, fish & grits - Sunday brunch

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It's super new. I've been eyeing this place for a month now and I'm happy that my friend and I got a chance to go last Sunday for brunch. It was busy but everyone was attentive and the wasn't a wait time. We opted to sit at the bar and our server was Lauren. She was so amazing! Literally the perfect waitress/bartender... she answered all 50 million of our questions without hesitation lol. We ordered a bottle of champagne and mixers for our mimosas and they were good. We also had shrimp, fish and grits and also the lamb. Both entrees were amazing. The ribs were "slap your momma good". One thing I appreciated was the staff. Have you ever been to a place were literally everyone was friendly and a vibe? Yea well this is the place. Every server picking up their drinks at the bar talked to us or smiled, the chef even walked out to see how we liked our meals. But to top it off, the owner came and had a full convo with us, to see how we liked our food and the vibe. I really enjoyed myself here. I plan on going back to check out the dinner menu and the vibe. If the food is as good as it was at brunch then, I'm in for a treat!

The lamb chops was delicious, the wings were a little dry to me I had to order some ranch on the side. But I love the vibes they play music and service was good. It do be a lengthy wait time on the weekends.

Food: originally we ordered the French toast bites with chicken and waffles and the pork chops smothered with the breakfast potatoes. The French toast bites came out extremely undercooked and so we sent them back to see if they could remake them, but they still were very undercooked the second time, so we just removed those altogether. The chicken waffles was very flavorful, I loved my pork chops. I'm not a huge gravy person but I have come to love sauces so I wanted to give it a try and it was very delicious. The amount of onions actually added more flavor to it and it was really good. We also got Mamosa kit which was one full bottle of champagne with two small chasers and that was good Service: our waitress was sweet and the food came out very quickly. There was not a long wait, and she brought our mimosa kid out very fast as well. She was still very kind, even when we were dissatisfied with the French toast bites, but she completely understood. Ambiance: this is a very beautiful restaurant it is not a huge space but they definitely use every inch including an upstairs section. They also offer you plasticware instead of wear once you walk in which I thought was really nice and they also offer hookah. There is more modern popping R&B, but it was still very chill. Nothing too crazy with an open bar. But overall 9/10 simply due to the twice undercooked French toast bites and prices are a bit high.

Amazing food, I came in a soon as they opened and there was a delay on food for a long while which sucked. but they offered a free drink to make up for it and a inconvenience discount. I'd definitely go back. They menu looks great

No sad, limp lettuce or those weird mushy tomato slices some places try to pass off as fresh. But here's where things went sideways: the patty had almost no flavor. I'm honestly not convinced it met salt at any point during its journey to the plate. It wasn't bad, just noticeably under-seasoned. For a place that positions itself as a serious burger spot, seasoning the meat feels like Burger 101. The fries were good. They offer different seasoning options, but I kept it simple with salt and pepper. I also ordered the Cheerwine sangria, which sounded like it would be something special. But when your whole mission is basically "we're the burger experts," it's a little surprising when the burger tastes like the seasoning got left in the kitchen.

I like how in the dining area, they put covers over the overhead lights so it isn't super bright. AND THE DRINKS ARE SOOOOOOO GOOD. First time we went, we overheard the waitress say she didn't want to serve us, she was exhausted. Rightfully so, she was the only server. We held nothing against the server, we were peeved with the owner. The woman with the light hair. Took what felt like forever to even get drinks. They were also out of a lot of food... which isn't necessarily a bad thing... but the items I wanted were no longer available so I just ordered the fried green tomatoes. They were fine, they just needed more sauce and a bit more seasoning in the breading! The poor server was just miserable while we were there, and the owner was just kinda walking around telling everyone what needed to be done, not quite helping, more so micro managing. We ended up tipping the poor girl $35. I hope she got to keep it all. Fast forward to this week. We tried it out again. It was a bit warm. We had been Instructed that they had family visiting and if it got too loud to let her know. The noise wasn't the issue at all. When we sat down we saw that it was 76° inside! We wanted to eat though, so we tried to tough it out. There was only one waiter and then another girl helping him serve the food. Again, and I don't know how it happened again, the boy had said to the lady he didn't want to serve us, there was too much going on. She had told him he was going to serve us, strike 1. We ordered all of our food at once to make the poor kid's life a bit easier. We didn't get drinks until about 20 minutes after sitting down. (The pineapple drink bangs btw). And we were literally sitting there DRIPPING sweat. Even the owner had beads of sweat alllll over her face. We ended up asking for our order to go. And my husband ordered his sandwich without Cole slaw. We said that literally a COUPLE of minutes after we ordered. The food magically appeared, and they had US package it all up. And my husband couldn't even tell the owner that he asked for no Cole slaw, but she kept talking over him. And she ended up being the "polite" kind of rude after we asked for our food to go. We weren't angry, we were just hot. But looking back on the bigger picture, it definitely angry. Especially for the young people they have serving. The poor server was so stressed so again, I do not blame the servers. We tipped that bot $25 and again, I hope he gets it ALL. I 100% put the blame on the owners. This place should be a food truck... not a restaurant. The bad reviews didn't make sense to me.... Until they did.

Overall, we were really happy we tried this restaurant and will definitely be back.

The octopus was probably my favorite--really tender and full of flavor. I had the salmon for my main and it was cooked perfectly and everything on the plate worked well together. Service was great without being over the top. Overall just a really solid dinner spot in Norfolk, would definitely go back

So we have been here twice now. I'm going to give each one separately:…read moreFirst time: Came in after a VA Stage show so kinda late. Sat at the bar. Service was absolutely awesome. Bartender was incredibly attentive for having a full bar. We each had 2 different cocktails and both were distinctive and excellently crafted. We had shared a couple of the small plates and enjoyed them both. We enjoyed the place so much that we decided to come back with a group of 14 for All Lovers Eve. Second time: Made the reservation with ease. If you've ever made a group reservation you know how complicated some places make it. This was a large group and they were short handed. This lead to a slower service which actually worked out well for our group. We didn't mind the gaps. They put us in their back room (hint - GREAT for groups) there was a little confusion with the order to include an extra dish we didn't order. We still ate it and paid for it though. The staff was great with our large and rather disruptive group. The food was all excellent (local oysters on the half shell and the apple desert were my highlights). Multiple cocktails that were all wonderful. My only real negative was that there was a $50 "loyalty club " charge that was never mentioned and I didn't even notice on the $1200.00 bill. This is, I believe, some sort of credit card fee. Both times were good. Both times staff were wonderful. Both times we were comfortable. Give the place a try. I don't think you will regret it.

However, I called 508 locals to see if they had any availability. The hostess told us to come on through. When I pulled up it wasn't too busy. They were welcoming and sat us right away. We had an awesome waiter. Judging from his accent, he was from Ireland. He was great. Very enthusiastic and attentive. I was pretty hungry. I ordered the crab cakes (great sauce and aioli), Brussels (hot honey with goat cheese and cranberries), junglebird drink (delicious, it wasn't overly sweet), and ribeye. All delicious. I was not disappointed. It was such a chill place. It wasn't overly loud. It was clean. I recommend.
