Hands down my favorite bar in Cincinnati!!! I came across this bar randomly on one of my many trips to Over-the-Rhine and instantly fell in love. Longfellow can be described as your nice little neighborhood bar. The place sits on the corner of 13th and Clay, so you can get away from busy streets such as Main street or Vine street to grab a drink. You will find metered parking nearby. The place is small and welcoming. If you want to leave your sunglasses on and grab a seat outside, they have a little seating area out front. Here you will find a full bar and a small food menu. I've found everything to be reasonably priced. I will warn you that it's not your typical food found in OTR. The small bites are tasty just very different. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. This has become my favorite low key bar to have a drink in.great bartenders that know their stuff enough of the classics and some nice updated twists on the classics as well. You can have a meaningful conversation cause the ambient music doesn't dominate the place and vinyl Sunday's are also a nice touch. i usually try to stop I'm at least once a week read more

this is my kids favorite late night haunt in Cincinnati he shared with us while visiting. the atmosphere is eclectic as were the bartenders, that served up delicious concoctions and crafty beers. we did not eat anything but saw others ordering food that looked pretty fantastic...a fun time was had by all. highly recommended. read more

Wow is this place unique!!! I am in love. Had the Shisho Painkiller. It was so tasty I wanted to guzzle it down but had to pace myself. I haven't had a drink that is good since I was in New Orleans. After hearing about this place it made me want to stop by and give it a try, and I love the place! It a small low key spot, very elegant and cozy. It's basically one of those places where it's not necessarily designed for a certain kind of crowd but for everyone, you can find people from different ages which makes it cool and comfortable if you're looking to just have a drink and chat. It's interesting how the bar are it's set up because it's right in the middle which I find it very convenient for the bar tenders. Furthermore,the service is above average the bartenders are attentive and welcoming unlike other places where you go unnoticed. One thing I really like is that they start you up with water, very few bars have this trend. Now the most important part, the drinks! And let me just say the drinks are awesome, their menu it's extensive and you have from very complicated drinks to simple ones. I had the slim picked and it was amazing. I recently discovered this bar when two friends of ours "paid it forward" to us with free drinks. Basically, the concept is that you can order drinks for a friend, they'll record it in their books, and then the friend can come redeem their drinks anytime they'd like. Such a cool concept. The place is small, so it tends to get crowded - we were glad we got there early. Atmosphere is cool and the bartenders were informative and friendly. Our drinks were unique, craft-made, and delicious. We also ordered the scrap sandwich and the liverwurst pate with saltines. Both were delicious and perfect appetizers to go with our drinks. We ended up "paying it forward" back to our friends and decided to join them again whenever they decide to go. read more

What an adorable bar! I stopped by with some coworkers for a drink after work on a week day. They have tons of drink options, including some delicious craft cocktails. Really awesome environment and nice ambiance - when I went, it was pretty packed but the bar conveniently has a lot of ledges throughout the bar to put your drink. Nice pay-it-forward concept and great that it has a pretty extensive food menu. We had two cocktails here - the D7 Swizzle and the Spruce Goose. Presentation of the cocktails was nice, generous portions, and reasonably priced but the taste was pretty terrible. Neither of the drinks were well balanced and the D7 Swizzle tasted only tasted like absinthe. Go for the ambiance and food, avoid the cocktails. They have some wine and beer choices so I'd recommend those instead. read more

Very disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I were waiting for our newly purchased plants to be potted at Gia and Blooms on a Sunday afternoon so we stumbled across Longfellows. We approached the door at literally 1:53pm and it was unlocked. We walked in and there were 3 bartenders setting up. They immediately said they weren't open. Okay...the door is open. We asked if we could sit there until 2pm. They said fine but were clearly annoyed. At 2pm we asked if we could have a cocktail and they obliged. There were some giggles at our expense. Just a super weird and and uncomfortable experience unlike any other I have had in OTR in my 5 years of living in Cincy. Just weird! Maybe keep the door locked. I suggest Low Spark down the street. Better signature cocktails and way nicer people. ;) read more

Definitely an upscale vibe, but friendly staff - really good drinks; the bar tender made us the owner's special with a coconut flavor, but light and sour and well balanced. I was there this past weekend, and I loved this place! Perfect atmosphere, very cool decoration, affordable price for drinks, really nice bartenders (yep, nice bartenders!!!!) and the drinks... OMG! Hands down one of the best cocktails I ever had! My choice was the SHISO PAINKILLER and I totally recommend it! I didn't try any food but they have few vegan snacks (roasted olives). If I were going to open a bar and was in the process of hiring bartenders, I would make any potential bartender go to Longfellow to observe the whole process. There are a lot of bartenders working at any one time, and no bartender is specifically 'yours.' Everyone who works there is looking out for customers and making sure customers have what they want. The whole process is seamless and apparently effortless. The bartenders speak to anyone who walks in; the last time we came in, the front bar was packed so one of the bartenders suggested we try the new back bar. The bartenders back there were also amazing. A lot of bars in Cincinnati would benefit from just watching how this place operates--it's great. read more

Great new bar! I stopped by on their opening night, only having heard about it from a local news piece that I saw on Facebook. I have frequented this spot ever since. Their menu has grown a lot since day one to now include some small bites, most of which are contributed from local restaurants (head cheese from Dutch's, a few plates from Please, and late night (11p-2a) pierogies from Babushka). Some of these small bites include bread and butter, radishes and butter, an olive plate, marinated anchovies, charcuterie, a few cheeses, HOTW chips, and some salads. They have 4 beers on draft (I think, can't remember), a decent little wine selection, some bourbon, some rum, etc. There's something for everyone! I recommend trying out their cocktails. Everything I've tried has been great and pairs well with their unique cocktails and laid-back vibe. Prices are on par with surrounding venues. Service has always been wonderful. Hats off to the owner, who (I believe) is usually working the bar and who hasn't paid a dime for advertising. This is one of those examples where word-of-mouth has been more than sufficient, as it is busier every time I go back. I hope this place continues to do well. Absolutely worth it to stop into this great easy feeling contemporary yet timeless neighborhood bar. Came in late on a Thursday night and the place was full with a great and varied crowd. This might sound weird but their on menu painkiller was the perfect drink to have on a blustery December night since it reminds me of the beach. Excellent execution, really well done, The bartenders seemed to know a lot of peoples names, and if they didn't know yours they sure make you feel very welcome. They are extremely knowledgable on their spirits and cocktails and offer great advice on what to imbibe with next (ie how DO you follow a painkiller?) Added bonus, LATE NIGHT PIEROGIS that were absolutely perfect! I never even counted myself a pierogi fan until these. That night it was potato and cheddar and yes they do take a bit to come out but well well worth it. They come in orders of 3 and 5 (so now you can order like a pro). Bottom line if you are anywhere around OTR or Downtown make your way there. Ample parking at night and plenty of Ubers/Lyfts around to boot. read more

This place is everything I want in a neighborhood bar. It's clean, unpretentious, they play great music, and their drink selections are varied, and rotate pretty frequently.
