Don't be fooled by this nondescript storefront in Morristown, this deli makes some great sandwiches and is well known in the area. I'd seen lots of 5 star Yelp reviews and today I had a chance to pick up lunch here. I've been craving a good sloppy Joe so I ordered the turkey and Swiss. The sandwich was delicious, packed with turkey, Cole slaw, and Russian dressing. I'd definitely recommend! The store is very small, but they have plenty of drinks, chips, and snacks. There were only 2 guys working here and they definitely have their system down. Busy but friendly. I could see parking could be difficult, but I was lucky enough to get a metered spot right in front. Longfellows Let me start by saying that the line was wrapped around the chips and continued out of the door into the street!! Initially the wait was a bit intimidating but since I had time to burn I waited it out and am glad sure I did! This is the EPITOME of an OLD SCHOOL SANDWICH!! everything was fresh from the rolls to the ingredients, they were generous with the servings and the pricing was very reasonable! Also the staff was extremely nice and personable, as they knew a lot of the patrons by name and even their orders. REALLY solid sandwich shop. When I was in here there was someone who moved out of town and makes it a priority to stop here when she's back around. I can see why. Really good subs that hit the spot. I got a ham/turkey/pepperoni/provolone sub with the works and it was delicious. Good amount of meat and cheese and really fresh lettuce. The pickle is also unreal. Crisp and sour and has that good snap when you bite into it. I love that they cut the whole pickle into 4 strips for you. Just get the pickle. On top of the great food everyone is friendly. Each sandwich comes with a generous amount of meat and cheese, fresh sliced tomatoes, shredded iceberg lettuce, onions, oil, vinegar and seasoning. I always go with a turkey, roast beef or Italian sandwich and all are delicious. The roast beef is always my favorite though. Sandwiches are huge. A small can easily feed two and a large can feed four. When my daughter was a newborn and cooking was impossible I would bring in a few large sandwiches and have meals for days. The shop is also a small deli with a large selection of chips, snacks, drinks and salads. Service is friendly and speedy. The meat quality is what you'd expect from a blast in a microwave. No griddle cooked meat here. The cheese is basic American, no whiz here and the bread is white. Flavorless. I ordered the sandwich platter for 25 people, this came out to 3 round trays of sandwiches cut into pieces and assembled on a tray. They were incredibly helpful, and worked in some vegetarian options for sandwiches upon request. The presentation was great, with peppermints, peppers, and olives throughout. I wish I took a photo before they were eaten. Guest were very happy with the sandwiches, it was more than enough food for 25 people. There was also a nice variety of sandwiches in the platter. It also included coleslaw, macaroni salad, potato salad, a container of pickles with olives, three bags of chips, plates, and flatware. Order was ready to go very shortly after I arrived, they were awesome and helped me bring it out to my car to load up, and even helped with the best way of packing the trays to avoid spillage if I had to stop short while driving. On my part, it was a very busy/very hot day, so it was great to have the sandwich pickup go quickly and efficiently with no major issues.
