So I ordered from here cause they had a pretty good reviews on yelp, itv says they've been around for 40+ years and they were running a pretty cool Bogo deal on Uber eats so I got the turkey club. Sometimes I like to throw random instructions in there like toast bread, melt the cheese and make the fries well done and surprisingly this shop hit on all points. The bread was fresh and so was the turkey, and the fries were well done to perfection and they had that golden crisp to them. The shop itself looks nice inside and my food was ready for pickup as soon as I arrived. He and I are very cautious when it comes to chicken as we've both gotten very sick from bad chicken. We showed it to a guy behind the counter, maybe the owner or manager he looked like, and explained to us that chicken can tend to look pink from the pigment, although thoroughly cooked and safe to eat. It's different from most delis and sandwich shops in the best way - you're not stressed out and having employees yell out "what do you want who's next" as soon as you walk in. It's clean, organized, and the staff is extremely friendly. The food is fresh and the sandwiches are priced fairly. This is much better than the deli I grew up with (a certain one originating from Millburn). I'll be trying their catering services soon and I'm looking forward to it. Coming back in after the horrific fire that put this place out of business for a while. The inside is beautiful. There are kiosks for faster ordering and takeout. That seems to be the way to go here. It may have lost a bit of charm but that comes with renovating! The turkey and roast beef sandwich was so fresh. I enjoyed every last bit of it. The pickle was also just so delicious. While the general staff members are pretty nice, I feel the manager does not like having kids dining in. My son and his friend were having their lunch and kids being kids, they like to talk. My son's friend is in ESL so he's been working on his speech and he does talk in a higher pitch/tone. I already noticed he was giving us looks when we were walking in as if we were causing trouble. Then while we were eating, he told us to "control" our kids because he was talking on the phone/ or with someone. Mind you, our kids were sitting in their seats eating and were not running around. They were just talking. I was very disappointed with this kind of treatment and would not be coming back. Even if it wasn't for this bad experience, I would give them 2 stars because their sandwiches are just mediocre. Their bread is stale and taste like cardboard. I recently tried this sandwich shop during my lunch break from work. With so many different sandwich choices to chose from, I went with the roast beef, turkey, and swiss sloppy joe. This was an excellent sandwich I must say. It is stacked as a triple decker sandwich, and was just really good. They used plenty of meat on it, which is an A+ in my book, as I love lots of meat on a sandwich. The slaw was fresh of the sandwich and both the turkey and roast beef meats were delicious. They were perfectly sliced thin and everything was so fresh. The sandwich came with a large pickle on the side too, which was a nice bonus. February 2, 2022 this place burned to the ground. Ironically, the Chatham Fire Department is right across the street! The downtown was saved. I usually get the #20 (turkey/cheese)but today was the #4 day. "The Italian." which comes with a pickle wrapped separately I might add. Bread just the way I like it. Plenty of lettuce, tomato, red onion and spices. It was perfect. You can watch them make sandwiches through the glass and see that they don't weigh the meat. In my experience most other deli's weigh the meat and it is usually 4 ounces, not including the cheese. Here, they do it by eye, it's about 8 oz. The delicious assortment of cold cuts are cut nice and thin and perfectly stacked. Again, just the way I like it. I have tried almost every other deli within 15 miles of Morristown & beyond. Nobody can compare to this place. Second generation, same attention to detail. The highest quality products, brand new everything with a good flow. They have two kiosks as you walk in the door to place your order. Touch screen ordering is easy. You can pay by card there or cash at pickup. Super fast. Prepaid take-out order pick-up is right as you walk in the door. The owner took my order today, yes I said the owner, Joe Jr. because I was paying cash. Joe is always there ensuring the staff does it his way, all the time. Every time. Consistent and high quality!
