I like Longhorn. The menu is good, and the prices fair. Our server was good, fast and friendly. When the check came there were several charges on it that surprised us: Charge for sour cream (when told it was included) charge for cheddar cheese, and charged for cranberry juice that was in a vodka/cran on the happy hour. Not sure how you make one without it! Asked to speak to the manager (Shelley) about it, and as she walked to the table I already knew it was not going to go well. She blamed the waitress (she was new) blamed the owners (they changed things) she blamed the economy. Never took responsibility, never was slightly nice, and was really belligerent. We just wanted to communicate if you are going to charge for additional items, just inform the customer. So won't be in a hurry to go back. We came in for the buffet on Friday night. Nothing was kept full, we had to ask for salad. It was empty the rolls were gone the baked potatoes were empty, the Mac salad along with a couple other things. It was not kept up at all the get charged for an extra 18% because of a large party!!! It's been decades since a visit to the Valley Longhorn for us, with the Airway resto closer to home. It looks great inside, with a lean to all things country/rustic decor. Wifey and I didn't do the lunch buffet, but one son with us did---and let me tell ya, for $16.95 that is one heckuva good deal in 2025. He engorged 3 plates as you see in my pics. The smoked Ribeye Sam I had was generous with the protein, and tender as all get out. I hit it with creamy horseradish, rather than their BBQ sauce. Another good deal was the single-trip Salad Bar, which can be upgraded with a small sam, and choice of meat. Wifey loves her Smoked Turkey, so it wound up being a great lunch in her opinion. Many folks do not care for the Longhorns, but fair or not, we don't compare them with anyone else in the BBQ world (to include my back deck). We went here for the first time last weekend for lunch. We always drive by and it smells so good we wanted to try it. When we walked in the person at the front was playing on their phone and ignored us. My husband thought we were supposed to seat ourselves so we started walking to a table when she says, "I'll be with you in a moment." Once seated a very nice waiter came around and provided us the menu and asked for our drink order. We let him know this was our first time here and if there was something he would recommend. He suggested the buffet so we could try more items. We also asked about their brisket as this is an indicator of true barbecue. We were informed that the brisket cost extra, but my husband still wanted to try it so we ordered a side. When we went up to the buffet we noticed they had two sections. The cold salad bar, and the hot food section. The cold salad bar section had many containers to top your salad, however most of them were empty. The hot bar consisted of rib tips, shredded chicken in a sweet sauce, baked beans, hot potato casserole, mashed potatoes, and cornbread. Though I was hoping to really enjoy our experience here, the food was subpar at best. We couldn't even eat the brisket without dousing it in barbecue sauce because it was so incredibly dry, though it was unevenly warmed making me suspect it was reheated in a microwave. As for the cornbread, it was cold like it was just brought out of the refrigerator, the beef tips were overcooked and hard, and the shredded chicken was too sweet. The saving grace of this experience was our waiter. I wish I remembered his name, but he was very kind and helpful. If it wasn't for him, this would be a one star based on our experience. read more

We love this place. The smell when you walk through the door takes you home to nights at the campfire. We sat at the bar where our bartender, Casey did a fabulous job making me a spectacular Huckleberry margarita on the rocks.. My husband ordered 3 crown Apple mules (delicious he said) and we got the Riblet dinner to share. The riblets and ribs in the past have always been wonderful and we love their original sauce. The honey butter on the cornbread was Devine.. The buffet looked very tempting but we were not that hungry. We just wanted to come in for a little taste and a drink. And for $24 all you can eat ribs on Wednesday night sounds like a future date. We like doing takeout from this place as well. Ordering one of the family meals to take home and enjoy!. Coleslaw is always enjoyed by the family. It might not be like a traditional Southern barbecue, but it is dang tasty. read more

We usually love Longhorn BBQ and come here about once a week. The food is consistently good, and I always rave about the kids' meals to friends and family. But this time was disappointing. The kids' portions on one of the meat trays were very unfair compared to what we've always received before. Having two kids who like the exact same things, it was especially frustrating when one tray was noticeably skimpy. When I brought it up to the manager, I felt dismissed and was basically told I was wrong and that "this is just how much comes with it." That was surprising, since we order the same thing every week and it's never been like this. A little understanding would have gone a long way. We'll probably give it another chance because we've had so many good experiences here, but this visit left us disappointed. read more

It was an education. A medical appointment nearby for my husband prompted the lunch sandwich p/u order after an online browse. The website said it came with barbecue sauce.. never experienced such a culinary understatement before. It was an expensive and uber sloppy, sloppy Joe. The sauce was the only detectable flavor. It could have been any cut of meat, the brisket was utterly lost in the slippery gooey mess. The menu should indicate "drenched-in", or swimming-in sauce vs "with" barbecue sauce. It wasn't a pleasant meal. And it wasn't inexpensive at $17.37 for just me. When I picked up at 12:42, the very agreeable and helpful staff asked if I'd like extra sauce, leading me to believe it might be a bit dry perhaps. Accepting her advice on this first visit to Longhorn Barbecue, then driving back to my husband's appointment location, it would soon prove humorous that anyone would desire more in this soupy sandwich. We have been going to Longhorn, occasionally, for many years. The last few orders were ok - not great. Tonight, we placed a "To Go" order that was truly awful. The meat in my French Dip was dry, full of gristle, and tasteless. I couldn't chew it (and really didn't want to - NO TASTE) so had no choice but to put it in the garbage. $15.95, in the trash. My husband's ribs were ok, but not as good as he has had in the past, and no BBQ sauce was provided. $22.95 plus $10 for 2 sides for his dinner, and he tossed the extra sides and the side that came with the ribs - he said they just didn't taste right. Our total bill was $60.00, including tip, and it was a TOTAL waste of money. Sorry to say that this will be our last visit to Longhorn. Disappointed. read more

The food was fantastic, BUT it kind of seemed like there was a lot of confusion at the registers. Ordered and paid on line. When I walked in I squeezed my way up to the register to inquire which line was for web orders? I was told to just wait in the Line everyone else was in. A while later a woman told me that another lady had come in the door and walked right up, got her food and left. She suggested that I retry. I have such a love-hate relationship with this place because they're so hot and cold with their food quality. When it's good it's great but when it's not you really regret the price. Like all barbecue, it's not inexpensive do that's why I always want it to be great. We'll still come here once, maybe twice a year but never more than that. Went here on a Saturday night because the smell was amazing driving by. Took my mom and we both got all you can eat. The all you can eat consisted of a potato bar, a kettle of clam chowder, a salad mix that mostly empty and not replishened during my time there, pork ribs that seemed boiled, sliced uncharred HOTDOGS, a stewed chicken with onions, mashed potato and half filled containers of your basic salad bar items. At the beginning of the salad bar sat a peach cobbler that looked dry and unappealing. Don't come here if you aren't a fan of pork, as we aren't huge fans which left us leaving disappointed. Last evening, my family of six went to Long Horn BBQ, on Argonne, and by the time we returned home, just 20 miles away, three of us had to race for the bathroom in a two-bathroom home. Those three ate hamburgers, and the rest of us had a buffet. I don't recommend that either, all the ribs we fatty and not a lot of meat. Save your money and don't go there. read more

If you want a good barbecue, this is not the place. The brisket was extremely dry. The sides were ordinary.

The BBQ here wasn't bad per se, but its not the BBQ you expect when the restaurant has 'barbecue' in its name. First impression when walking in is cozy cabin aesthetic, but upon close inspection everything is very dusty. The smell is very smokey/charcoal smell so we were expecting great meat... but both my pulled pork and partner's beef was not flavorful. In fact, we could probably name the bottle of sauce the BBQ came out of and the store the potato salad was bought from. Not to mention my water/ice tasted stale so I imagine their ice machine has never been cleaned. Lastly, the server never checked on us during the meal, and it was so quite inside (even with several other tables) that it was awkward and unwelcoming. The only good thing I have to say is that the waiter was nice. The chicken was extremely dry, ribs were also dry and didn't taste right. The beef was very odd and tasted like sour teriyaki. The menu literally just says "beef," so I had no idea what to expect. My plate was garnished with a tiny piece of kale for some reason, and it was very old, browning, and slimy. Service was spot on for a Saturday evening. Went for the nostalgia factor. We had the buffet. Nice selection for salad. They had out their proprietary potato and macaroni salads as well. White bread rolls - warmed were available, no cornbread. Good selection of meats. Rib tips, shredded chicken, pork ribs and german sausage. There was also a baked potato bar that you could load up all your toppings if you wanted. The dessert left much to be desired. It was a cobbler of some kind. took my son in for a quiet lunch. was pretty busy. our server emily wasn't very personable but she had a couple larger parties finishing up. so maybe she was catching up. the other server and manager were very nice. we both had the bronco burger which is a bacon cheeseburger. came out fairly quick. Buns were a little dry. i texas sized mine which adds another patty. I loved the burger. it had the cooked on a flame taste and was moist and juicy. I picked a garden salad as my side and it was huge with tomatoes croutons and cheddar cheese. son got fire which were jojos and not very good. cold limp and no seasoning. a little in the price side. 2 burgers 2 drinks $42.90. they also have a huge salad bar. read more

No mater what you order , you still have to upsale for brisket ($5.95) . So I ordered the brisket sandwich , the only thing you don't have to pay extra for. It was a very thin slice French dip style and absolutely horrible. This restaurant knows nothing about brisket. It was my first and last time eating at longhorn BBQ. Service was slow even for lunch time , I went and hunted down my bill as I was tired of waiting. It did have a pleasant smell of smoke like all good BBQ joints walking in to the establishment. Mixed review messages here but decided to try this restaurant located close to my hotel. Lots of road construction but a decent local crowd was there. Friendly staff but needed knowledge of menu. It was my last day in Spokane after an extended visit with my family. We all had a chance to get together for dinner and this was the consensus choice. Staff were very helpful, pointing out best options when told what someone wanted. The salad bar is incredible and includes soup! My chicken and German sausage plate was terrific. The chicken was juicy while the sausage was zesty but not five alarm fire. On the recommendation of my sister-in-lawI I went with the original bbq sauce, which was robust and has a tangy sweetness. We went here for Inlander Restaurant Week on Monday evening in February 2019. The concept of Restaurant Week is very clever as a publicity stunt as it brings people to restaurants that may not usually try and you tend to spend more money. If you usually just eat a main course, you will end up paying more just because it is a set three-course meal. But you think you're getting a deal because the price of all three dishes is always greater than the cost of the restaurant week menu meal. My meal was acceptable. I ordered the Cowboy Dip (artichoke and jalapeno dip with chips), followed by the rib platter and finally the apple cobbler. The dip was great and the cobbler was delightful. However, my rib platter was not the most appetizing. The ribs had good flavor but the gristle was too chewy and when I bit into some of the ribs and hit the gristle, I almost broke my teeth on them. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to eat the gristle! While we ate, the snow began falling and it added to the piles of snow already filling the parking lot. It may not have been the greatest meal but it will not deter me from trying this restaurant again and hopefully I will be able to up this restaurant to a four or five star establishment. read more

So, ended up here during Inlander Restaurant Week 2019 (because: 1. It's restaurant week and 2. It's a dining miles place). $21 per person menu--I ordered the German Sausage, Longhorn Rib Platter, and Apple Cobbler. German sausage: 3.5 stars, especially when dipped into the Longhorn Barbeque sauce (raising the stars). Longhorn Rib Platter: 2 stars (weighted more). Only one of the ribs was a definite win (the other two, not so). No additional sauces placed at our table (although I saw more sauces at a table across the way--but they ordered off the menu, not restaurant week menu). Beans were good, but the corn bread that was advertised as part of the package deal for restaurant week was not on our plates (I was stuffed at the end of the meal, so it didn't really end up a big deal). The apple cobbler was a win (5 stars). Personally, I don't think the restaurant week menu is worth it. If you are feeling the need for some Longhorn BBQ, just come and order off the menu, unless you want that lovely apple cobbler and the additional food (appetizer). Service was A-OK. read more

I was here with my family on June 26th and found this place off Yelp. We drove all the way from Vancouver to start our 5 day road trip to Yellowstone. Server was friendly, but seemed to look busy when I waved for a service. We ordered salad ($3.50), babyback ribs (full rack $29.95) and El Paso Chicken ($18.95) they were delicious. Chicken was tender and delicious and it came with some rice and beans. However, beans and rice were kind of salty. Salad was good and the ribs were really good. It was delicious and tender and the meat fell off the bones. And onion rings were SPOT ON! It was fresh and crispy, yum! As I mentioned ribs and onion rings were highlight of our meal.
