Our server was very busy, handling both the bar and restaurant areas. We all started with appetizers, which we shared. Fried green beans were good, kind of spendy. The onion rings were great and the tarter they came with was nice. The mozzarella sticks were good, the marinara was cold and chunky. For meals, two of us went with their Irish Stew, salad, and absolutely delicious cornbread. Our other friend tried their Burnt End sandwich. She said it was really good. What I really wanted was BBQ turkey, which is on their online menu but not on the menu in the restaurant. It was a good experience and we'll definitely give them another try in the future.

I wandered into McKracken's Irish Pub in Spokane Valley after a long day chewing cud and was greeted with the warmest "moo" of hospitality I've felt in ages. The owner clearly knows how to make everyone--two-legged or four-hooved--feel right at home. Let's start with the Guinness--cold, creamy, and poured with care. It's enough to make a bull tear up with joy (and that's saying something). The Irish stew? Hearty, rich, and packed with flavor. The cornbread is the real surprise--soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for soaking up the last bits of stew. Whoever's in that kitchen deserves a medal--or at least a salt lick of appreciation. They've got WiFi, so you can update your herd on your dining adventures, and the regulars add to that cozy, small-town pub vibe. Karaoke on Fridays is a real treat too--nothing like hearing a few pints in patrons belt out "Don't Stop Believin'" while I hum along in low, soulful moos. All in all, McKracken's is the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, loosen your bell, and stay awhile. Great food, cold beer, friendly faces--what more could a mad cow ask for? -- The Mad Cow Reviewer

Longhorn is a Spokane staple, and if you have been to just about any large event in the area, you…read morehave probably smelled their smoky goodness. Now, I have traveled a bit, so I have tried lots of different styles of grilling. I have also been fortunate enough to have had friends who know their way around a smoker. In short, I have a pretty experienced bbq pallette. Is Longhorn the best I have had? Well, no. BUT they are pretty good. I really love the decor at the Valley location. And all the employees are hardworking and friendly. One of the things I am most impressed with is the prices. Bbq is labor intensive, time consuming, just expensive to do in a commercial capacity, especially with the skyrocketing cost of food. Yet Longhorn's prices don't seem to reflect that. With the quality of food, variety, and the portion sizes, I would have expected to pay more. They also do a nice salad bar, and currently have all you can eat nights that are well stocked with all the good stuff. Last point. I consider myself a chili master, perfecting my recipe over a couple of decades. While my chili is still better, Longhorns is pretty damn good. So if you are in the Valley and want solid BBQ for a fair price, Longhorn won't steer you wrong.

Wifey and I didn't do the lunch buffet, but one son with us did---and let me tell ya, for $16.95 that is one heckuva good deal in 2025. He engorged 3 plates as you see in my pics. The smoked Ribeye Sam I had was generous with the protein, and tender as all get out. I hit it with creamy horseradish, rather than their BBQ sauce. Another good deal was the single-trip Salad Bar, which can be upgraded with a small sam, and choice of meat. Wifey loves her Smoked Turkey, so it wound up being a great lunch in her opinion. Many folks do not care for the Longhorns, but fair or not, we don't compare them with anyone else in the BBQ world (to include my back deck). They are who they are, and we're definitely on their team...
