I usually try not to do chain restaurants but the fire alarm went off in our hotel and this was the closest place... walking distance. . .that wasn't fast food. Nice place. A little too dark for me but ok. I had the 6oz fillet with a lobster tail and crispy Brussels and a green salad. Boy! That steak was amazing. I didn't even need my knife to cut it. The Brussels OMG! Great! Lobster is lobster. It was ok. The salad was just okay too. The server was so nice. She must have been busy cause she forgot a couple of things a few times but it was okay cause I was busy eating. They opened a longhorn in my hometown and I'm going to given them a try. Came here as my hotel was walking distance from the restaurant. It was a Sunday afternoon and they were already out of lobster! Not a good start. The French onion soup I ordered was extremely salty and the cheese was burnt on top too much which gave a bitter taste. Sent that back and ordered the steak and shrimp plate. The bartender was friendly. Steak was medium and not medium rare like I ordered but didn't want to send that back as well so I just ate what I could. This was our first visit to the newly opened Longhorn at Lake Oconee, and we had a great visit on a Friday evening. We beat the dinner rush by arriving right and 5pm. I also highly recommend the "Join the Waitlist" feature on their website. The style and décor are similar to other Longhorns and very nice. I do wish they had a vestibule to keep the outside weather away from the restaurant. Also, our booth was situated near the entry, and we spent a lot of time looking at all of the people waiting for tables. Our salmon, T-bone, salads, and drinks were all excellent and arrived quickly. Our waitress was very sweet and responsive. I'm glad Longhorn is at the lake. The prices were very reasonable and quality was as expected. read more

Busy Sunday evening visit. Waitress was friendly, but missed about half of the order and details requested. Support staff sucked at filling orders properly and delivering orders. Lemon requested with waters, half got them half didn't. Then we were promised the lemons which never appeared. Asked for a salad with dressing on the side. Again it came drenched in a nasty tasting version of what I ordered. Just exactly what I was trying to avoid. Vegetable side didn't show up and had to be asked for twice. No butter for the lobster was delivered. So many little details that could have made the experience wonderful. Final straw was a half plate of food left on my plate and I had to ask twice for a box to take it home. Enough is enough. Will try and avoid this place next time in town. read more

This is a relatively new location as it looks new and clean. We came in about an hour before closing and we both ordered 6 oz filets. They were both awful and we left half of each on the plate. These were the toughest pieces of meat I have experienced in a while. They had stringy gristle and no flavor. The highlight of the meal was the sweet potato. It was cooked properly. My husband and I came in the other day and only had to wait a little while, which is amazing and it was quiet for Saturday. We got sat and the server was super nice. We got our appetizer and drinks and it was great, but then we waited for an hour for our regular food to come out. We asked about an eta on it and our waiter said she would be right back went into the kitchen and came out the other end and did not give us an eta. We kept staring because we were hungry and expected some kind response especially because she was talking to other tables and she eventually came over asked us what we had, we didn't get time to respond before she said she forgot a pen. She went to look for one and never came back. My husband kept watching her and she apparently was talking to other staff members and looking back over to us. We just went up to her and asked for the check. Would not recommend because even if the order didn't get put in or the cooks messed up they should have communicated that. And she shouldn't have noticed every time she asked by and asked us how everything was that we didn't our food. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This review does not reflect at all on the service that waiter Roger provided. He was friendly, made sure we got sweet teas to go, and was pretty amazing. This review is very much about the things that transpired afterwards. I was there having dinner with my nephew. We both had shrimp, salad however a big difference in what we ate was our main entrees. I had crusted Parmesan chicken and a baked sweet potato. Fast forward to 4:00am in the morning, something isn't right my stomach is in absolute knots and if you know food poisoning, you know what happened next. And that would be my whole day, dealing with food poisoning on 3/11. And because I knew I could pinpoint where this came from since I had nothing but Longhorn to eat, I knew it came from eating there. So, because my significant other has worked in restaurants, as a chef and also as a butcher in butcher shoppes, I asked him what should I do and he suggested I needed to call Longhorn and inform them. The response I got, is why this review is a 1 star. The manager when I am explaining I have food poison, proceeds to tell me it couldn't have been the chicken because they cook those in batches and I was the only one to call. My response to that is maybe other people don't know to call and let restaurants know. I wouldn't have if my SO didn't suggest it. And before they even respond to this review, yes they offered a gift card however my call was never about that and I happily declined the gift card because my call was about informing them of the situation when I am 100% sure it's food poisoning and it came from their establishment. read more

Just took my 94 year old mother here for lunch. The dining room was well lit, not noisy and VERY accessible -- plenty of room for the rollator. Our lunch of 2 cheese burgers + soft drinks and 1 side each was $26 after tax, before tip. We asked for no bun -- and the meat portion was perfect! This was our first visit to this location. First thing we noticed was a woman carrying a small, hairy dog and being able to sit at the bar and order. Second, the restaurant seemed clean except for the dog and the service was decent. The meal was not what we were hoping for. The firecracker chicken wraps were good along with the salad. The cowboy ribeye was gristly and burnt one side, filet was over cooked and burnt on one side also. Our side order of mushrooms were also over cooked. Service is usually good with nice white staff, but food is inconsistent. However, is the only late night sit down restaurant that's open in my town, sowe make do. Prices are high for food that is not made from scratch. All their sauces and gravy and seems like most everything they fix except salads have been prepared somewhere else and frozen and taken out and defrosted or microwaved and served to the public. They burn the brussels sprouts repeatedly Even though you asked them not to and the lamb chops are either raw or burnt! They don't seem to know how to do it in between! Mostly the food is pretty good and the service better, but for the things I mentioned. Their salad with strawberries and a vinaigrette dressing is delicious! We took a party of 7 to The Greensboro, GA Longhorn on July 4. We arrived at 4 PM to beat the crowd which hadn't shown up when we left at 5:30. The service was terrible with our guests sitting with empty tea glasses looking for a waitress and waiting on food. When the food finally arrived it was mostly cold to warm. One steak was cold and raw in the center and had to be sent back; the Rock Island Shrimp were cold and tough. The French Onion Soup is horrible and was only beat on the awful scale by the buttered mushrooms. There was a fly at our table that enjoyed the meal much more than we did and even he didn't want the mushrooms. Unless I hear of a radical change in employees at this location, I will never be back. I am giving this restaurant 1 star, only because there is no lower grade. read more
