I have frequently this restaurant for many years and it never causes me anything but a wonderful experience. Last night was no different. It was spectacular. I got the floes fillet, the small one. I had their mashed potatoes for the first time and they were delicious! Our server was very prompt attentive, and the ambience was beautiful. I think there were quite a few people in there, but it didn't feel loud at all and I liked it. They had the sports on TV but the noise wasn't loud. It was maybe the volume was often had closed captions on the sports. We sat in the bar area, but we had a booth. My partner got the ribeye bone in ribeye. They cooked it just like ordered, medium rare. They cooked my fillet basically rare, which is what I really wanted. I just wanted it seared on the outside and totally raw on the inside. It was delicious. I love the seasoning that they use on the steaks. I would totally recommend this to anyone in the area. Very clean and cute western decor! We had to wait a little to sit, even though it was an empty restaurant. Maybe they were a little understaffed? Our waiter was very friendly. We started with a regular salad with honey mustard dressing and the strawberry salad. The regular garden salad was very good (loved the homemade croutons) but we didn't like the strawberry salad. It tasted a bit tart instead of sweet, and could use more dressing. For the mains we both had the ribeye (one bone in one bone out). I ordered mine with the parmesan crust. Unfortunately they forgot about the parmesan crust, so the chef brought me some on the side. Im kind of glad though, because it would have been way too much and too cheesy. The steaks were cooked to the perfect temperature but the seasoning is a little bit too much and too salty. We both had the fire roasted corn of the side which was very good and again very cheesy. This restaurant has potential to do so much better, but the service is lacking. Today is Tuesday, July 8th and the restaurant doesn't have many visitors. Despite this, the greeter did not greet me (she had a nose piercing-did not get her name). She asked me to wait 5 minutes to sit us down because "our server is taking orders at other tables". After patiently sitting and waiting 7 minutes at the entrance, I got up to look for her and couldn't find her anywhere. A nice server came over and asked to help but it was too late. I told him and the female with the pierced nose (who suddenly appeared) that I have been to numerous restaurants and none had ever asked me to wait to be seated on a weeknight. Normally, restaurants secure the visit and have clients sit and tell them "Someone will be right with you". The almost empty restaurant is an indication that customer service is lacking here and I don't see this restaurant surviving in this economy unless they make some changes. Goos luck! My son and I went about a month ago My steak was good but my son ordered medium it came out raw . They bought another one that was well well done. He at the potato and Mac and cheese brought the rest home. So by the time he gets his steak I am done eating. Called corporate they said the manager told him that we were happy with the meal. Felt really bad for the server. So my son goes again Monday first steak is well done second steak is raw they got it right by the third steak. I ordered for pick up and happy to say the majority of my family's orders came almost exactly as I ordered ..... all with the exception of having a 20-minute back and forth with the manager over a discrepancy on my soup orders. I ordered a bowl of French onion soup, a bowl of shrimp & lobster chowder soup, and 2 cups of French onion soup. (For FYI a cup is 2.99 and a bowl is 5.99). What I ended up getting was the bowl of French onion was nearly exactly the same in serving size as the cup size ( both in weight and visually ), and my chowder soup was less than my cup of French onion. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, the Manager wasted at least 20 minutes of my time trying to convince me I was over poured a cup of soup with the worst set of excuses in explanation ( ie, "It is based on volume", "it is spoon ladles used"). I said, "So are you going to bring me a scale to weigh both of these to show me the difference?". I even got a real scientific opening the containers to show her the volume in the containers was nearly exact in comparison. I thought my request was simple, all I wanted was the rest of the soup to make up an actual bowl serving size for my two soups, given that this wasn't even my meal. The manager then suggested Re-pouring my soup orders which I said "No, I'll keep these as I know what restaurant staff do when people complain about their food. " The manager then came back to show me with the shrimp + lobster chowder, what a bowl-sized serving looked like. And shocker it was less than a cup. Then acting like she was doing me a favor, she said I can keep this one. I then waited at the bar for the rest of the French onion and she came back acting surprised I was still there. I said that I thought I was being brought the rest for the French onion, and she said no, which I mentioned well that wasn't clearly communicated. I tried to clarify, so I am not going to get the rest for the French onion?" Not until then she went back to get the rest of the soup to bring to the car. The moral of the story is if you want soup, save money and get a cup. It's the same as a bowl. I mean, even the manager said that they always receive customer complaints about the soup servings for bowl and cup sizes. Which you'd think, wouldn't the restaurant correct that? Seriously like that didn't make sense to me. As for the other items we got( as I know y'all didn't come for soup) we ordered the: -7 pepper sirloin steak salad( substituting the blue cheese with goat cheese) -Farm fresh field green salad with grilled salmon( with no cheese) -Texas Tonion -9 oz. Flo's Filet paired with seasoned French fries -6 oz. Flo's Filet & 4 oz. Lobster Tail with loaded baked potatoes + Caesar salad Solid steaks for a chain restaurant. The highlights for me were the cup of French onion soup and the Texas tonion. My 7-pepper medium-well sirloin salad was alright. I was better off adding just olive oil as my dressing as the ones they have for this dish are overpowering and not complementary to the peppered sirloin. The Flo Filet, lobster, and baked potatoes were good ( per the feedback from the family which are very very very picky eaters). My experience with remedial actions, and unclear communication with the manager was for me the biggest down fall for my experience. Just didn't like how the manager was intentionally trying to confuse and deceive the consumer/customer over soup serving sizes when the soup is great there! We ordered a starter with shrimp served with Jalapeños(it was not bad) but didn't blow me away. When we arrived to the restaurant the manager was on the phone for several minutes. Once he had a line waiting at the entrance he proceeded to put the call on hold, grabbed the menu and said follow me. No Greetings or nothing. Once seated we ordered soups and stuffed mushrooms which they came out great. The Iced Tea was way too sweet. Ordered the Texas margarita but for some reason he brought some other margarita in the menu. We ordered the Ribeye and also the outlaw ribeye. The regular ribeye came out overcooked, which we had to send back and waited for while for the replacement. The corn side for this was also very disappointing. While the outlaw ribeye was cooked to perfection, some parts of the steak weren't that good 6/10. Also the loaded baked potato that came with it was disappointing, seemed it been in a drawer for hours. It was dried out and the skin very hard. Relatively quiet place with plenty of parking, but a little annoying to drive to on the count of a very busy mall roundabout being basically your only way in and out. The "other" way is a trap that dumps you northbound in a residential zone so just be careful. The real reason for the 2/5 review is the restaurant experience. No one was manning the host station and it took a while to get noticed for some reason. When we were, was shown to a booth and got a small loaf of warm bread and a small dish of ice-cold butter. Not very thoughtful of the eating experience. Ordered classic steak / salad / mashed potatoes. Salad portion was pretty stingy considering it's just a side salad. The steak was really disappointing considering "steakhouse" is in the name. Had a sirloin which came out looking more like a ball than a flat cut of steak. It wasn't really cooked evenly as one half was medium and the other was medium rare. Maybe they just parked it on the wrong part of their grill. Also came out pretty tough and had a few nasty bits of silverskin that were not pleasant. There seems to be some major cost cutting from the cut and the portion, also the lack of skill -- or lack of attention -- from the kitchen. No one came to check on us, or offer refills. The waitress seemed pretty eager to turn the table, which is weird because this particular evening didn't seem very busy at all with maybe 4 tables in use (and a full bar area). I don't think I'll be going back, which probably doesn't mean anything to a corporate conglomerate like Darden, but we did expect at least a par experience from a chain. read more

I've ate at far more expensive steak restaurants all over Florida, but my go to steakhouse for a quality steak, baked potato, and exceptionally great service is Longhorn Homestead. To add icing to my meal I add the Strawberry and Pecan salad which serves both as my green vegetable and a dessert of fresh fruit. The steak is always cooked perfectly, the baked potato always soft almost like 2x baked, but the quality of the service staff is what rounds out a great meal.
