You can get a long pour which was like a drink and a half. I decided to order another but was told I was not allowed to swap out the tequila by a different server so that was a bummer. We were greeted upon entrance. The restaurant was not packed at all so no wait. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms for the first time and they were amazing. They did take a while to come out though. Our silverware was wrapped up with pieces of food inside each one. I requested plastic ; a manager came out and apologized, even though I did not request one so that was very thoughtful. Today, we visited Longhorn Steakhouse after a funeral. We called ahead to be placed in the waitlist. We had a party of 13, so a little wait was expected. Our server's name was Kevin. We place our drink and appetizer orders. They were amazing. Then we ordered our entrees. Kevin got every order right, even with a few changes after his initial rounding the table. The food was amazing. Every order was cooked perfectly and warm. Kevin made sure there was never an empty glass and suggested desserts to go. We are a big family in many ways, we had enough room to be comfortable and felt like we were home at our table. Overall, our experience was extraordinary! After having had two medical procedures on last week and several medication changes, I just wanted to have a nice dinner and relax. I decided to take myself on a Solo Date. Longhorn is one of my absolute favorite places. I was seated right away. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was friendly and appropriate. I liked that it was not crowded in the restaurant. The waiter made sure that he got my drink quickly and provided some bread. Went on weeknight, dining probably at 20% capacity, ask for seating for 2, marched past multiple empty booths and tables to a filthy big U-shaped booth in far corner, ask for different seating, was told no other seating available by the robotic hostess, table streaked from partial wiping, floor covered in debris including shrimp, other food and trash, ask to be re-cleaned, no response, ask server for different seating and was told no, pointed out the filth under our feet and she just said "sorry". At this point should've left. My ribeye was barely braised and cold in the middle (ultra rare) and stringy, wife had to actually trim her filet (should be absolutely no fat attached to a filet mignon), broccoli was soggy, server while pleasant made us feel rushed bringing check while eating then reappearing 2 mins later asking if I had my card ready and stood there while I put my utensils down and pulled out my wallet. I didn't send food back because at that point I felt it would've been useless after the response to dirty booth so we sat in exile in the corner in the big party of 8 booth and ate the worst steak I've ever been served at Longhorns feeling like unwelcomed guests. Kudos however to the friendly young lady who made and served my wife her dragon fruit cocktail, poured at table and ensured it was to her satisfaction. On a cross country trip, we visited this location. We had not been to a Longhorn in many years and we were excited to see it near our hotel. we expected it being a Saturday night, it would be busy. Would not have had any problem with forty-five minute wait. Sadly, we as well as several of the other groups waiting realized there were empty tables just waiting to be used. Very bad for business. when we sat, it was pretty quickly that they took our drink and food order. again, expected wait. we waited ten minutes for overly sweet tea and flavored tea so sugary- she could not drink it. after another ten minutes, we got our bar drinks. asked for water. another ten minutes, we told they were out of salad. bread comes. salad comes. food comes. all in a matter of five minutes of each other so our booth was swamped. as we look around, there is no bussing of tables at all going on. plates and everything clutter every table while people sit there no longer eating. our steaks were so hard, we could barely cut them. our potatoes were underdone and dry. Our waitress was asked again for water. finally, when we were done trying to eat- we get water. we waited twenty minutes with a full table of dishes for our check. This is a good chain. What ever is going on at this site is costing thousands of dollars per night. The staff are sweet, just not attentive. They don't know how to serve and bus. If you make people wait, don't have six free tables un-used. Please consider retraining the site. On our trip back through town, we will not be returning. We will find another steakhouse who knows how to do business. read more

We've eaten at different Longhorn locations around Birmingham, and I don't remember ever getting bad food or service. But, my God, what is that nauseating sour smell in every Longhorn I walk into? It's an unpleasant smell that seems to be soaked into the wood and fabric of the joint. Please remodel these restaurants, which seem outdated and dark on top of being smelly. My younger son had a track meet. He won a medal so we wanted to eat out to celebrate. We decided to stop here. We figured it would be nice. We were wrong. The food and service left us lacking. Per our receipt, we were at table 63. The bread and our appetizer came out timely and hot. However, our entrees and sides took a long time and when they did come out, the food was cold. Our food must had been sitting for at least 15-20 minutes before it was brought to us. That's the only way to explain why it wasn't even lukewarm. Additionally, my son's burger had onion on it when he asked for no onion. My sweet potato didn't come with butter or cinnamon and I explicitly asked for those things. Our waiter stayed gone too long. He apologized for the cold food and said he'd take care of it, but then he spent 10-15 minutes helping other guests. We were very much over our dining experience so we asked for the check and to go boxes. We decided to take our food home and properly warm it up ourselves. It took him at least another 10-15 minutes to bring a couple boxes. He still didn't bring my butter or cinnamon so we had to wait for him to bring that out. Our waiter apologized several times, but he really didn't do anything to make things better. Even my kids asked why he kept saying sorry, but then didn't come back for long periods of time. It has been a while since I had been to Longhorn Steakhouse. My mama called and said she wanted something different for her Sunday lunch. I decided to get us some steak dishes from Longhorn. I went online and ordered the 7 Pepper Steak Salad for me, and I got my mama the Chop Steak with mushroom gravy, sweet potato, and house salad with honey mustard dressing. I drove over to the curbside parking area (after picking up her groceries) and checked in. It was delivered to my car very quickly (less than 5 minutes after check in), and was still warm when I got over to my mama's house (25 minutes away). We both LOVED our meals! The steak on my salad was so tender and flavorful. Not sure what all the peppers were on the 7 pepper steak, but you could definitely taste all of them. I usually get my meat cooked well done, but this time I got it medium well and it was surprisingly not as pink as I expected. My mama enjoyed every bite of her chop steak. She mentioned how juicy it was and how perfectly it was cooked. She had NO complaints. She cut some of her steak to have the next day along with half of her sweet potato and the other half of her salad. We will definitely go back again soon!! read more

The Longhorn on 280 provides better service. I would be willing to drive further to get better service. Dining out is just not all it's cracked up to be. You never know if the mean is going to be any good. Our steaks were good but the service and everything else was sub par. We waited an hour to be seated. They were out of baked potatoes. The house salad was terrible. They forgot our appetizers. And, they were slow with our drinks. I say "they" because our waiter had a trainee with him, who refilled my friends drink but not mine. Met our son and his wife for a nice dinner. They wanted to try Long Horn. We arrived at 5:30. A short 20 minute wait for a table. Upon arrival to our table, we were met promptly and drink orders taken. Waitress brought back our drinks and a warm loaf of bread. We ordered our meal and requested an appetizer, the Texas onion. About 15 mins later our salads and appetizers arrived. I would have preferred the appetizer first. The onion was warm and crisp. The sauce was slightly sweet, I would have liked it spicier. Dinner arrived. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye with a shrimp combo and a baked sweet potato. Sweet potato was excellent but I would have preferred no brown sugar. I requested it and butter in the side but they came together. Ribeye was ordered medium, it was more like medium well. Very salty seasoning, but that may be due to the pan searing vs a traditional grill. My wife ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs. They had a good flavor but were a little tough and difficult to get off the bone. Brussels sprout side was good flavor and texture. Service was OK but not exemplary. We were looking forward to a big juicy steak burger at Longhorns. We decided to go this afternoon around 3. We had both missed lunch. The restaurant was dark and cold. All the blinds were closed and it was just so dreary. Our steak burger was as dry as old toast. The bun had obviously been frozen and was so dry, the meat was falling through it as soon as I picked it up. There was very little of the magic sauce on it. We were so disappointed. This was an enjoyable lunch experience. We stopped by Longhorn and we're quickly seated by a man who introduced himself as the manager. No server approach the table for about five more minutes, which seemed odd because the restaurant was not at all packed. Once our server Tanner arrived, the drink order was taken, and the rest of the service experience was acceptable. The lunch entrees of the steak salad and the crispy chicken sandwich we're both incredibly tasty, and very well prepared.
