This is one of my favorite places for brunch! I absolutely love the $21.95 Fresh Salmon with chive butter sauce, fresh green beans, and rice pilaf. The salmon was delicious, and the chive butter sauce added the perfect touch. The fresh green beans and rice pilaf were great sides, too. Needless to say, I made a very happy plate! Courtney did a great job and provided excellent service. It's always nice when great food is paired with great service. The service was great, and I really liked the ambiance. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment. The dishes we ordered were dry, lacked flavor, and were overly salty. For the price and overall atmosphere, I expected the food to be much better. The drinks were good, and the dessert was enjoyable. I also wish there were more variety and different options on the menu. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were nice, the food just didn't live up to expectations. I had not been here in years, so I decided to plan a dinner with some friends. I arrive there about 6 PM and they're happy hours till 630 so I did get a margarita on the rocks. It was very delicious and Tyler was our bartender I believe. The bar area is so classy and they also have discounted appetizers from 4 to 6:30 PM Monday through Friday. I had made reservations about a month in advance because I knew it was gonna be a party about seven or eight of us. Mabry was our server and she was very attentive. I usually get the crabcakes, but I decided to go with the nachos appetizer, but it was big enough for a meal so that's all that I got. On the description, it says spicy ground beef, but the server assured me that it was not spicy and she was correct. I got a salad before my meal with poppyseed dressing and it was so fresh. The tomatoes exploded in my mouth. And to end the evening, I have the peanut butter pie, but forgot to take a picture of it, but I did take a picture of the cheesecake that my friend got. I went for a catchup lunch with two friends. The atmosphere was slightly upscale but warm and accepting. It was not at all stuffy. I ordered the pimento dip, which was delectable. (I would love the recipe!) I also ordered the Spinach salad with Bacon, Campari tomatoes, apples, cranberries, candied pecans, sliced egg, blue cheese, poppy seed dressing. The food was a experience. The spring rolls was the appetizer and the was delicious. The chicken went well with the Napa cabbage. The sauces was great for dipping. We decided to give The Tavern another try while charging our EV at The Summit; a perfect excuse for happy hour.The highlight was definitely the Wednesday special with 50% off all wines. It was a little weird that my husband's martini came without vermouth (they do this for HH), but not the worst thing that could happen. We tried the Colorado Chips off the HH menu. They were not quite what we expected (had BBQ sauce but no BBQ). Another downside was the restroom, which could have used some attention. Dec. 31,2025 Wife and I went for early supper that evening. Place not that busy, so seated immediately. Server was efficient and friendly. We enjoy eating there and have gone there at least once a month, normally no issues. Wife order a fish dish, and was happy with the order. My go to has always been the grilled meatloaf, this time I went a different way and ordered the short ribs. When plate was served I was a little disappointed in the serving size, but what can you do about that. The sauce the beef was served with was too salty to tolerate. I wanted to send the plate back, but wife discouraged me doing so. The short ribs were tender and favorable, but sauce was almost uneatable. When server came by at end of meal, I told him I wanted to send my dish back, and explained why. Of course he apologized, but he didn't prepare it. He did bring us a dessert to share, which was unexpected but appreciated. It's going to talk me a little while to get over that experience before I go back there again, but I'm sure we will, not going to let one bad experience define the place. read more

I've been for lunch many times but not for dinner. We were seating in the main dining area, which is a bit louder than other areas I've been seated, probably because of the higher ceiling. Wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves like other places, though. I got the chicken alfredo, which came with broccoli. It was pretty good. I was seated there for at least five minutes before she arrived, and even after she got there it took another 5-10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. I've only dined here for brunch before, so this was my first evening visit. Drink-wise, Village Tavern delivered--I ordered the French pear martini, the tropical cosmo, and a lemon drop, and all were very nice. My friend ordered the Brussels sprouts and the Cajun seafood fettuccine and thoroughly enjoyed her meal. We ordered several apps. I picked the calamari, no peanuts and sauces to the side. I guess I adjusted it too much because it ended up being bland. I tasted the crab dip, it was pretty good with those yummy pitas. I didn't taste any others but I didn't hear any complaints. I ordered the seafood pasta as my entrée. It was a huge portion with tons of shrimp and sausage and some large scallops too. It was petty good. My buddy ordered the blackened salmon and shrimp and the portions were also large. There was the sashimi app, which was enjoyed by my peer as her entrée. My manager had a salad that randomly came with a tiny blueberry muffin. We all ordered various desserts to go. I made reservations for 7:30 PM on December 13th for me and my wife's anniversary. I had her pick me up from the airport at 7 PM, and we drove straight there, arriving inside at the desk at 7:26 PM. We were told they were 20 minutes behind on reservations, which was fine by us. About 15 minutes later, two guys walked in. One went to the desk and was told they were behind on reservations. After a little time, he came back to the other guy, who was standing directly behind me, and told him they were 5th in line but had talked to management to get moved up. Five minutes later, he was seated. So I walked to the desk and said I needed to speak to management to make a complaint. I was seated immediately, and the manager told me no one was moved up. But the guy clearly came in 15 minutes after us and clearly had that conversation while standing inches away from me I could hear it clearly. So I'm not buying it. We had our normal anniversary meal, left our usual $25 tip, and left. But we both agreed never to come back. We've been coming here for years, including when I posted my original review years ago talking about how amazing this place was the owner even commented on it at the time. We loved this place. I actually thought that it came with the colorful couscous that it was pictured with but my waiter said that I had to order it. He did bring me a serving though so that made up for my disappointment. It is an older establishment and could use a little freshening up, but I was pleased with our seating as we were near the fireplace. Our server was pleasant and helpful. Service was mediocre. Food preparation was inconsistant, and some was poor quality. Got lunch prime rib 8oz. Couldn't cut one side with a steak knife. Sent back. Second piece was better, but still had strands of grissel and a huge 1.5" inch piece of fat. Wife got Chicken Marsala. It was pretty good. We both ordered green beans (they were French). Her's were over-cooked and mushy. Mine were under-cooked and tough. Apparently, they don't know to remove the strings from the beans and can't cook them correctly. Quality of the beans was great. Shame they can't cook them. Salad wedge was good, but bacon and tomato toppings were sparse. So service... It cost $9 to replace the loaded potato with a salad wedge. She didn't bother to mention that when I asked about substituting. Dirty dishes stayed on the table for 5 trips before she finally picked one up; Never asked about refilling drinks. A very nonchalant attitude from most of the staff we encountered. All of that, $70+ lunch before tip, and that was drinking only water. Nope. Not going back. read more
