We decided to give this steakhouse a try while we were in town. The restaurant was busy, and we waited about 30 minutes for a table, which was understandable. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve much after we were seated. It took a while for anyone to greet us or even bring us water. When the bread finally arrived, there weren't any plates, and because it took so long for someone to return for our drink order, we had already decided what we wanted to eat. The food came out fairly quickly after we ordered. The salads were good, and both the baked potato and mac and cheese were delicious. The steaks, however, were just okay. The biggest disappointment was the lobster tail, which I had been looking forward to the most. It was cold, chewy, and came with cold butter. Definitely not what you'd expect from a steakhouse. One thing that really left a bad impression was the closing routine. We arrived about two hours before closing, so it's not like we came in at the last minute. About 20 minutes before closing, the staff started vacuuming around the dining room while we were still finishing our meal. I understand everyone wants to get home, but vacuuming while guests are still eating is unprofessional and really took away from the experience. Overall, there were a few good dishes, but between the slow service, disappointing lobster, and being rushed out by staff cleaning, this isn't a place we'll be returning. read more

So I've been to other locations, but this was my first time here. It was very bustling the night before Mother's Day. It took us about 40 minutes to get seated. Our server and service was pretty good. The atmosphere was ok and what you'd expect for that kind of place. What really disgusted me were ALL of the FLIES. It was gross. If you want to feel like you're camping or something then this is the place to go. We had to keep waving our hands around to shoo the flies away. I could not eat comfortably. I was so repulsed. The health department should go out there and with all of the Hantavirus in the news, they could really be a bit more vigilant. If they don't care about flies, what other bugs do they NOT care about in their KITCHEN?!?! Makes you wonder? I noticed they offer patio dining (in the 90 degree weather) and they kept the door propped open like permanently to let ALL of the FLIES INSIDE. The food was pretty good, most of it. We tried a lot of appetizers. The shrimp were good and flavorful but too small. The onion was way too salty. The chicken wings were excellent and the perfect amount of crispy on the outside while being juicy inside. The spinach dip was ok, but it was cold and super thick and a bit too salty. The outlaw ribeye was excellent. I loved the mashed potatoes. The simple side salad was excellent. The lobster tail was great. The rice pilaf, not so great. It was unlike any pilaf I've ever had with nasty herbs and vegetables inside. The desserts were excellent . I tried the salted Carmel cheesecake and the chocolate cake! The ONLY positive thing about this place is the wait wasn't too long, but the waiting room is very tiny if you're going with more than a group of three expect to be standing in awkward areas as there is no room. If I could give this zero stars I would! Food was overly salty, the baked potatoes came out hard as a rock, steak came out bloody as hell , we had to have them fired up again which took forever, and the rest of our food got cold by then . I put us on the waitlist through their website so we only waited about 15min rather than 35min. Our server was kind and helpful. It was a full house. Even though she was busy, she still checked in on us too make sure we were good. Food was great! Had a prime rib cooked the way I asked for it!! Longhorn has saved the day for my wife and I on multiple occasions. We've had bad experiences elsewhere and we're always like longhorn will make it better... and they always do! Their appetizer wings are so good they could be an entre. The ribs fall off the bone and their chicken dishes are smart and flavorful. For the cheeseburger they ran out of pepperjack cheese and we were offered the option to substitute. The burger was then served without the side (sweet potatoes) and we were told that we could either wait 60 minutes or get another side. We did neither and simply finished our meal, no big deal. Payment is made using a QR code and their system (not the restaurant according to the manager) automatically added a 20% tip... Longhorn was PLAN B after a failed attempt to go to Babe's(don't bother-look for my review). Longhorn should have been PLAN A. There were a ton of cars in the parking lot so we were worried. We were told it was a 15-20min wait. We ending up waiting 5min before we were seated at a nice booth. We had a wonderful waiter who promptly took our order and brought our drinks. 3 of us got the baby back ribs and my daughter got the parmesan crusted chicken. Everything was excellent. The meat fell of the bone and the sauce was great. My daughter was impressed with the cheese on the chicken. We went to several restaurants on our trip to La Quinta and this was probably the best meal we had compared to Tommy Bahama's, Sullivans, and others. The wait time isn't terribly long. We went here on a Tuesday, and there weren't that many people. So we got seated immediately after walk-in. Restaurant is a 9/10 in terms of ambiance. Booths were clean and lighting was great. It had a very rustic-modern cowboy/Western style theme. Decorations ranged from horshoes, to historic Western photographs, to hanged saddles atop the booths. It was 94 degrees outside, but the inside was well-airconditioned. Now the service was questionable. It took about 20 minutes just get the bread. And another 10 minutes for the soup (Clam Chowder Shrimp soup was pretty good). Then our stakes came about 10 minutes after. It took a little over 35 minutes from ordering just to have our food served, which isn't too bad. But again, this was their lowest peak time. So i can only imagine what it's like when they're busy. Girl who greeted us at the door was very nice and energetic. Our table server was okay. She just didn't seem very enthusiastic. The steaks weren't that spectacular to be honest. My friend's ribeye was cooked medium. It was good and juicy. probably an 8/10 in terms of taste. My New York Steak, however, was kinda dry. I tasted more of the charred burned surface than the actual meat. I think the thick cut just makes it difficult to cook. Overall, a 7/10 for the New York. Their grilled corn was very good though! Our total came to about $91 for two people, which wasn't too bad for a Stakehouse. I'd say the reviews who complain about the wait time are warranted. We came here when it wasn't at all busy, and we still had to wait a bit for our food. Our table server was nice. Although I think she was just there to clock in. The Steaks weren't bad but they weren't that great either. Don't plan on eating here if you're in a rush, or if you're expecting a five star experience. Overall, I'd say it's a decent four star experience if you account for the food, the price, and the wait time. read more

We ordered the fried onions, but they tasted completely processed -- all breading and barely any onion flavor. We also ordered four steaks, all medium rare. My son's steak and mine were cut so thin that it was impossible to cook them properly medium rare. My ribeye was especially disappointing, so I sent it back. About 20 minutes later, they brought another steak, which honestly did not look like a fresh cut of meat. Unfortunately, it was even worse than the first one. The manager took it back again, and by the time the third steak arrived, the rest of the table had already finished their meals. To my surprise, the replacement steak that was ordered medium rare came out medium well to well done once again. At that point, I simply asked to have it boxed up. This place may want to rethink its slogan -- instead of "Steak Done Right," it felt more like "Most of the Time Overcooked." What made the experience even more disappointing was that after all of this, the manager brought the check without removing my steak from the bill. End of our Palm Springs trip and we wanted to end it with steak. We came in and had a short 15 min wait as the dining room was pretty busy. After we were seated, our excellent server, Daisy, took care of us. We started with the parm artichoke dip and fried Brussels, which were tasty and good. We ordered a filet and lobster tail, and 3 boneless ribeyes. Entrees came out quickly and my filet was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. My lobster tail was good. The ribeyes were good but on the thin side. Our sides: grilled cheesy corn, Mac n cheese, and loaded potato were really good. The mashed potatoes were not good at all... they tasted like they were mixed with an unseasoned white gravy; had a faint flour taste. Ended with the strawberry shortcake.
