    Aguachiles verdes and camarones zarandeados

Lina always provides amazing service and has such an outstanding attitude. Her customer service truly makes every visit enjoyable. The food is consistently delicious my personal favorite is the aguachiles verdes, and the micheladas are just as good! This is hands down one of the best seafood boils in the Coachella Valley. It's become one of my favorite spots to come dine with family. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't tried it yet!

Good seafood boil for the area :) we live in SGV and has great options there. However, the snow crab, yes Snow crab NOT the king crab, was Exceptional. The lobster roll was also amazing!

Best seafood boil in the desert! I'll keep coming back for more :) Great service by great servers. Great ambience, always busy and welcoming. We always get the mixed bag Kimkey style and mild. It's the perfect amount of heat for me.

I love Kimkey Shrimp Seafood Restaurant. The food is delicious but this week that I went to eat there, a 4% credit card fee was added to my bill (this is not a tip). I am very disappointed. The prices are already expensive and going up. Too bad I will not be going back and I will not recommend this restaurant or any restaurant that charges me to use my own money.

We ordered a mix bag and added a pound of crawfish, mussels, and snow crab legs and it was so good. We ordered it medium heat, Kimkey style and it was delicious. Definitely the best in the desert. Along with their selection of mariscos? We also ordered Cajun fries and some agua Chiles verdes. Their food was so good. The shrimp in the agua chile did taste a bit frozen but other than that, everything was very good. The servers were also very nice and welcoming. Will be coming back soon. Loved the vibe overall.

First time trying shrimp boil and I chose this spot and it was so good! My brother and I decided to just call it in and eat it at home. Staff were nice over the phone and very professional. Next time I try it I'll definitely eat there for the full experience.

The seafood is a hit and miss I don't know if it depends on what day you go on! For the price it could be better.

We discovered…read moreOceana Restaurant on the Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week website -- the Pulpo Chicharrones caught our eye -- so we decided to check it out. Thank goodness we did. Our group started out with the above mentioned Pulpo Chicharrones. Crispy Octopus bites served with fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, and flour tortilla chips. The octopus had a charred crispy exterior that gave way to a buttery-tender interior. None of the rubbery texture that so often turns people off. For entrees, we selected the Whole Fried Huachinango (Red Snapper), 7 Oceanas (think "Spanish Chioppino"), and Pan Seared Halibut which was the special of the day. The halibut special featured a very generous pan seared filet on a bed of white wine risotto with a sesame seed veloute and asparagus. The 7 Oceanas consisted of perfectly cooked octopus, white fish, clams, mussels, shrimp, salmon, and scallop in a rich broth with tomato, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, and guajillo peppers. Served with housemade telera bread sticks to sop up the amazing broth. The snapper was deep fried to perfection leaving the skin super crispy and fleah moist and flaky. Drizzled with an adobo sauce and served with grilled sliced lemons, chayote squash and baby potatoes. Our only complaint was the snapper was not true red snapper as advertised, but rather porgy (we think). Red snapper is one of the most substituted fish and very few people in the world could tell them apart. My partner Ernie is a connoisseur, and he can. The dish was still excellent, we just wish it wasn't advertised as Huachinango. This hidden gem delivered fresh seafood, tasty cocktails with a nod to tequila and mezcal drinks crafted by owner Marco Castellanos, and friendly attentive service from Gina.

The server was fast and friendly. We ordered the stuffed dates and the burrata. The olive tapenade with the burrata was so tasty. We practically licked the bowl clean. We quickly ran out of the little toasts but ate the olives with the arugula from the medjool dates. For mains we order a half order of the short ribs and the prawn pasta. The prawns were pretty large. The pasta was a little too al dente for me and the sauce had a very strong wine taste that got old pretty quickly. The short rib was so tender and flavorful, but the Brussels were also just a tad too rare. Overall it was a nice meal but kinda pricey for two people for the dishes to not be perfect.

I erroneously assumed spaghetti flavored with garlic, white wine, butter, herbs, & preserved lemon would be delicious. Large, tough (& again, tasteless) prawns topped the bowl of noodles that seem to stick together from a lack of sauce. Our gracious waitress removed the dish from our bill after seeing it had barely been touched. Her efforts did not go unnoticed; we generously tipped her for taking the initiative to rectify an unsatisfactory situation. We sat on the covered patio facing the giant rock formation; a unique dining experience, but one that felt Disney-ish rather than elegant. La Quinta Cliffhouse gets a hard pass from me.

As a date lover, I had to try (and compare) it to that other famous place by Morongo and I will say that the Shield's date shake is thicker and more date-intense! They also had date ice cream which I will have to try the next time. I found the shop to be charming with lots of old school toys, jewelry, kitchen accessories and, of course, dates! There are many varieties sold here, including Mr. Shield's exclusive "blonde" and "brunette". There's date sugar, date crystals, syrup, jam, rubs, honey and pancake mix! I was tempted to go crazy! The theater is at the back of the shop and it is flat out old school charming. Alas, no air con. The history of this special place plays on a continuous loop and is about 15 minutes. Well worth it for the history and to appreciate how labor intensive date farming is! Fascinating. The items are all a bit pricey. There is a cash price and a credit card price on each item and everything is clearly marked. I don't mind supporting a family business and, anyway, they had me at, "date shake." Unfortunately, it was a hot June day, 110 degrees, so I didn't venture outside. If it's cooler next time, I'll definitely wander around... I will be back!

Ciros is a long time staple in the community and has been open since the 60's - which is beyond impressive in these times. We should all continue to support our local staples that have been serving generation after generation. We came in for a super early weeknight dinner and that was the right move. The place was empty and relaxed. However, as we finished our meal a slow trickle of people started to come in which was nice to see. Not sure if this spot ever gets "packed" but it had a good amount of regulars and plenty of takeout orders. We sat at a comfortable booth and I liked the decor. Very old school, slightly aged, but all of the nostalgic vibes that if you were a local growing up here, it'd feel like home. What's also cool is they have an open area kitchen in the front of the restaurant so you can watch the chef make your pizzas. Loved it. Staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. Again, they weren't busy but staff kept our drinks filled, cleared plates as needed and provided great service. 5 stars definitely on the service and overall welcoming atmosphere. Prices were standard and I will say they give great portion sizes. All of us had leftovers to take home which is always a good thing. The food is standard old school Italian. Very mom And pop, decent. I'd say I'd rate the food between 3.5-4 stars but it really depends what you get. My starter side salad was crisp, fresh and well dressed with thousand island. Also the bread basket was warm and addicting. For my meal I got the shrimp scampi pasta which I thought was good but not amazing. The highlights were the large shrimp and noodles were cooked perfect. The oil - lemon - garlic sauce overall was just okay. Garlic was garlic-ing but it lacked maybe seasoning? I think scampi pasta dishes can be hard to master as they sometimes feel more oil forward than buttery, which I would have preferred. I definitely liked my dish but would get something different the next time. Truly their classic baked pasta and red sauce dishes looked fantastic and I'd get that next time, can't beat a classic.
