Always a little surprised when a chain restaurant is top notch, and I certainly was here! The caesar salad starter was delicious and the perfect size. For my entree I had the new york strip, it was cooked exactly as i ordered and the flavor was out of this world. The fire grilled corn on the cob was also very creamy and tasty. Great place to eat! Husband and I always get the wild west shrimp appetizer to start with. Normally, we don't get appetizers, but these little shrimp are so delicious! We even get an order to take home! This time, we split a cheeseburger rather than getting a steak--should have gotten the steak! Hubby really enjoyed his 1/2 of the burger, but I'm finicky when it comes to burgers so based just on how messy it was, I wasn't impressed. "You can't fake steak". That's the Longhorn ad I just saw on tv. And they're right. But they're guilty of trying to fake it! It's been two weeks since we went there for lunch and the experience is still very clear in my memory. I had the rib eye and it was terrible. It was thin (looked like it was cut on a meat slicer - like a slice of salami), had no flavor, was dry (because it was so thin), and was about 1/3 grizzle and fat. The best part of the meal was the baked potato. You can't mess up a baked potato. Our waitress was nice but she didn't deliver the meal to the table. It was delivered by someone else whose interaction with us was limited to, "Who got the...". The next time we saw the waitress was when it was time for the check. And did I mention - there were a total of four tables occupied for lunch. You would have thought there would have been time to stop by and see how we were doing. Nope! (Though the waitress had time to periodically check a table in back where her children were spending the afternoon.) All this and they charged $26!! A couple of BigMacs would have been a better value (and cost a lot less). Are we going back? No way! read more

It was good, but I recently came back from a trip that truly has the best steaks ever, so my bad was pretty high. The waitress was friendly but slow. Prices were pretty high for a chain restaurant serving decent steaks in mid-Michigan. My steak was over cooked. I ate it all and enjoyed the salad and whiskey that I had with my meal. The complimentary bread that came out before was blah. It's a great atmosphere, and I appreciated having my family take me out t dinner! BUT, there are other options in town. Our server was very polite and the steaks arrived cooked to order. The free appetizer bread was so soft and the sweet butter was delicious too The entrees good and I can't complain. Food was good but other parts of the experience were poor. Checked in on-line which stated a 20-25 min. wait. After 45 min we asked if we had been missed. We were told the online check-in times can be wrong (understandable). We were second in line, cool. Well, after seeing several people seated before us and 15 minutes later we went back up again. We were told that we were texted and she called our names. That was a lie. We were 10 feet from the hostess stand. Our name was never called and we had no text. I will give credit to the manager. She did find us a table and was very nice. After that, service was so so. Took about 10115 min to get our drinks, but it got better after that (other than a long black hair on the bread they brought out). We didn't even say anything about the hair. We were greeted very nicely when we walked in and got good wishes on our way out, very friendly all the way around. Our ribeyes were a little chewy, and we told that to our waitress reluctantly, because we didn't want to complain. She offered immediately to replace the steaks or take them to be cooked a little longer because cause they were also not very hot in temperature. They came back just fine after a very short time. We went with a group of dear friends a total of eight of us and had a wonderful time. The food was very good the service was also very good the restrooms were clean considering how late in the evening it was. We had not seen some of the folks in the group for a few years, so it was great that the place was not very crowded. We were a bit loud. The sirloin steak looked (and tasted) like it was microwaved, the rice pilaf didn't have any seasoning, and the crispy Brussels sprouts were almost edible. My niece really enjoyed the Redrock grilled shrimp, but she didn't like the fries (she asked me if I could identify what was wrong with them - I couldn't) or the crispy Brussels sprouts. We were seated by the kitchen and they were extremely loud, but I should have asked to be moved. One waitress went in the kitchen and said she could hear the laughter all the way to the table she had been waiting on and I thought she was going to tell them they were too loud, but she wanted to know what she had missed out on (her words). I'm thankful for all that are working, but I did not have a good experience. My niece and I really enjoyed the bread and our waitress was really nice. After 15 min of waiting for a table , and dealing with this mess my party decided we didn't want to spend our money at a place where unprofessional young girls working at the front were completely RUDE and unprofessional the way they handled the situation We walked next-door , and were seated immediately. You could see that Long Horn knew what they were doing. They had areas roped off where you weren't allowed to sit . Servers were amazing and friendly. Food was fresh and fast. The service was AMAZING! Those girls worked their butts off to make sure we were ok. The wait for some cocktails was a little long, but nothing to complain about! But since my husband and I are moving out of state, we splurged and got some really nice steaks. I'm talking $20+ steaks. Every single steak that was at our table was WAY over seasoned. Your seasoning was burning my mouth! It was literally caked on the steak so bad it was burnt to the outside. About 4 steaks at my table were not cooked right.
