    An overly salted potato

No stars --Tonight the steak was terrible. We ordered a ribeye cooked medium . The first one was way over cooked! The second one way too much salt on it --a hazard of sending food back ! Now --the manager was extremely rude acting as though perhaps our palate somehow is the question basically telling us to next time ask to have our food lightly seasoned ( we are ppl of color & season our food heavily mostly which is why we love Longhorn since we frequent this place ) I was extremely offended by her insinuation that it couldn't possibly be over salted ! I spend hundreds with yall every year -they know my face if they've been there ! And usually the ppl are friendly especially the waitress --she did her best ( as usual) ! The manger didn't apologize and treated us like children !!! And I won't be back !! I'm including a picture of the baked potato that came with the steak and you can see the tremendous amount of salt that was put on it !!!

The server was relatively nice, and the atmosphere was dark and dim. I ordered the crusted chicken Parmesan with broccoli. My only complaints are that the crusted Parmesan was very salty and some of the broccoli were partially raw. Overall, a good meal.

Honestly? Disappointed. My family brought me here for my birthday. Dad said it's the best steak around. It was good, but I recently came back from a trip that truly has the best steaks ever, so my bad was pretty high. The waitress was friendly but slow. Prices were pretty high for a chain restaurant serving decent steaks in mid-Michigan. My steak was over cooked. I ate it all and enjoyed the salad and whiskey that I had with my meal. The complimentary bread that came out before was blah. It's a great atmosphere, and I appreciated having my family take me out t dinner! BUT, there are other options in town. I'll try it again before making a final decision to never return. Like I said, my father loves it.

Good, cheerful atmosphere that feels suuuupppeerrr American, in the sense that there's references to beer, meat, country singers and football. That's not a bad thing it's definitely a vibe for sure. Our server was very polite and the steaks arrived cooked to order. The free appetizer bread was so soft and the sweet butter was delicious too The entrees good and I can't complain. Wasn't the most flavorful steak but it was a good cut. For the price of $12 for 6oz it was a good deal. Everyone's meals looked tasty, too. I liked seeing the cuts of meat on display at the entrance.

The burger comes with a salad and baked potato can substitute for fries. Great taste and value.

I typically go for the ribeye, but the lemon garlic chicken has been one of my favorites lately! Always with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon

Floors everywhere were extremely dirty, bathrooms dirty, and when I peaked inside the kitchen (while walking by) so filthy (to be honest, we considered leaving before even ordering anything!). HOSTESS & SERVER: The hostesses were fine, not rude but not friendly either. Our server (male with dark hair) was very nice, he at times gave off a vibe of being new. The service is still very SLOW, so plan to be sitting awhile waiting to order, get food, etc. FOOD: This is what we ordered.... Cheddars Trio Sampler -- 3 Choices were: Chicken Tenders, Wisconsin Cheese Bites, and Queso Fries. Taste: Chicken tenders were good, cheese bites were very good (greasy though), queso fries were alright. Size: average. Price: $12.49 Cheddars Trio Sampler -- 3 Choices were: Chicken Tenders, Chips & Queso w/meat, and Queso Fries. Taste: Chicken tenders were good, chips were good, queso with meat was fine, queso fries were alright. Size: average. Price: $12.49 Monte Cristo -- Taste: it was alright but found it was too sweet and got sickening to eat after the first piece. Size: average. Price: $11.99 Baby Back Ribs -- Taste: very dry. Overall flavor was alright but we had a hard time getting past how dry and tough they were. Greens beans were not very good. Mashed potatoes were good. Size: average. Price: $16.49 OVERALL THOUGHTS: Server was very kind but service in general is slow. Cleanliness has definitely been lacking and I honestly would hate to see what happens in the kitchen!! WOULD I RETURN? Probably not, mostly due to the state of cleanliness the whole establishment was in.

The place is conveniently located on Saginaw HWY along with a lot of other eateries. There is lots of parking. The restaurant has some mileage to it as it is a bit dated, but I liked it. We enjoyed the big booths and large table. Lucky it was large because we ordered more than a few things. To start, we ordered the onion rings and the fried cheese for our appetizers. They were both quite good, but my favorite was the onion rings fried to perfection. Light and crunchy and just a great bite. We also ordered what Cheddars calls the painkiller. It is a large tasty drink that is sort of a combination of a piña colada Meets a Mai Thai. The meals included the Key West chicken and it comes with rice and two sides. It has a kick to it and it's really flavorful and tender. We also ordered the sirloin and the hand breaded chicken tenders. Both were quite delicious and I love the crunch on the chicken tenders. The sides were also really nice and they included the sweet carrots and the broccoli cheese casserole along with crispy fries. This was quite a meal and it filled us up in a very happy way. We ate up and we left very happy and full with the idea of returning here soon. I don't live around here but when I visit this area, I will definitely stop here again.

I also liked the mismatched mugs. They seemed seriously understaffed, and service was very slow. We ordered drinks, and waited long enough for someone to come back to take our food order that we were starting to wonder if they thought we were only getting drinks. There was another long wait for our food. When it arrived, it arrived in batches. One person ordered three tacos, but the order was entered wrong, so they only got one to start, and they had to wait quite a while for the other two. The food was good overall, but the portions were quite small. I did like the Bourbon Street French toast, particularly the caramel sauce. It could have used more bananas though. The fried pickles were good, as were the spicy mozzarella sticks. The steak omelet's sauce was odd. The nachos were good. The coffee and lattes were good. The regular orange juice had less juice than one poured for our toddler. Overall it was alright, but I don't know that I'd go back.

Update: I am sorry…read moreto update everyone that Travis left EnVie. The new bartender leaves so much to be desired. Pretentious bartender who really really wants to be known for being a mixologist. Don't you dare ask to modify any of his ingenious cocktail creations. I've been to many many bars in my lifetime. Nice bars, hole in the walls, distilleries, hotel bars, outdoor bars, cute little trailer-wedding bars, speakeasies. You get my point. My standards are high but i'm down wherever too. this is the first time anyone has refused to modify a drink for me. and i'm not talking about changing everything. i'm talking about swapping out mezcal for gin (there are barely any gin cocktails anymore). i've been here three or four times since the new bartender-- and i don't even sit at the bar anymore. the only redeeming quality of the place is the chef(s?) who I feel really takes care of people and makes the food with love and care and excellence. the burgers and steak are literal perfection. Le sigh. Travis if you're reading this-- Mike and I miss you!! Management, please try to get him back!
