Had a misunderstanding on my end with the order I placed, seeing that I was confused James was very helpful with asking was there something wrong. We talked quickly about it and he said you know what let me get my manager because I know he can help us. Sydney the manager came up quickly after James briefed him and he said what can I do to help ma'am! That was my first time coming by there for the wing special, and I spent more than I expected. Dear Slim - As a guy that's well versed in the art of chicken tender consumption, I have to say I was a little skeptical, you being the like the new kid on the block with the flashy bike and all. I was wrong with my preconceived expectations of average. Based on my first experience here I am very impressed. Your meaty and flavorful chicken tenders, in a perfectly golden fried batter, are as good as any I've had anywhere. The gravy however, was the true show stopper for me; Michael Jordan at the top of the key with the game on the line kind of situation. The gravy was thick, rich and ever so peppery. I start to salivate a little just at the thought of it. The fries are a pretty typical, good but not memorable offering with full credit for being crisp. Rounding out the tender basket is a couple of pieces of toast; a hard to go wrong, necessity for soaking up the last of the gravy. In addition to the chicken tenders, there are wings, a chicken sandwich, chicken and waffles, several wrap choices and a couple of salads. The additional side choices include mac & cheese, coleslaw, potato salad and fries. They also have fried okra, pickles and mushrooms, but they are unfortunately only available in the large size. I understand places have their policies and reasons, but personally I think it'd be a big plus to be able to order a regular size side of the fried okra. If nothing else, Slim's should make an exception for Texas. Another impressive thing about Slim's is their extensive arsenal of dipping sauces. With options of slim sauce, ranch, cayenne ranch, blue cheese, gravy, BBQ, honey BBQ, spicy BBQ, Korean BBQ, garlic Parmesan, sweet red chili, honey mustard, mango habanero, Sriracha garlic, buffalo, hot and inferno, I'm very impressed. All of the non-creamy options above are also available as sauce on the wings. The setup maybe fast food, but the food is definitely in a different category. OMG. SO Much Flavor. And the service is amazing. I have actually found a reason to drive to Lubbock from Austin. First stop of the day was for just a couple cups of ice, but the girls there were so nice and it smelled so good we came back for dinner. Lezeria met us at the register and was amazingly sweet, the others were as well, suggesting for our first experience here the Buffalo Wraps -so of course it was a resounding "Yes, Please"! I had the deep fried mushrooms as a side & my compadre had the fries. Both hot, crisp, & Delish! We ended up ordering a Strawberry Salad to go since it looked so good....& even though we were stuffed after only half a wrap each (saved the rest for the trip home), there was No Way we were missing out on trying the decadent looking desserts . I waited until my pickup time to call the store to tell them which spot I was parked in despite them already knowing due to me having to put my make, model, and color in when I ordered. I waited 10 minutes past my "ready" time and still hadn't been helped at all. What I don't understand is why they ask for the vehicle information if they aren't going to use it to correlate with the cameras facing the designated spots. I drove around to the drive thru where i was greeted by an employee laughing and cursing through the intercom and telling me I would have to come inside to pick up my order (what's the point in curbside then?) When I pulled up to the window the employee was very apologetic for her team members actions which shouldn't be her responsibility. Overall, this whole situation could've been avoided if there was a better system for curbside and professional employees. Today I ordered our meals and added two fried mushrooms to go with them. Is it fair to charge customers full price over $10 for two when you literally fill up the boxes less than half way? Mine were 1/3 full each. When I order 1 box it's ALWAYS filled to the top with fried mushrooms. Literally filled up max!! ****Customers Beware**** Fried Mushrooms are $5.99 each. My total order was over $30. If you order more than one order they dump half the box in the other but charge you full price for both. This is not okay! Why would customers pay twice as much for the quantity of 1 box?? Do customers need to stay parked in front of the drive thru to double check their orders and point out these mistakes? Why is it our job to do so? I'm not going to be rude to the employees but if other reviews have complained about this same issue it more so is TRAINED to the employees. Is this technique of splitting the mushrooms from one box yet charging for double a common thing that is trained from your Corporate Office? I would appreciate a response that is not copied and pasted from Management. It's an issue when the last 5 visits have been riddled with mistakes. This is why we stopped going to Raising Cane's. I can't help but compare this place to Cane's because their menus are very similar. However, this place is better! Not super crowded or noisy with college kids. Nice and clean decor. Classier ambiance than Cane's. Slim Chickens chicken strips are tender and juicy. My fries were crispy and tasted homemade. The biggest thing I don't like about Cane's is that they only have one sauce, which is a sauce that I do not really care for... Slim Chickens has a wide variety of sauces to choose from! I got plain barbecue sauce but they had some cool flavors like honey mustard and mango habanero. They also have a wider variety of menu items, ranging from chicken strips to wings, and even salads for those who want a healthier option. They have dessert as well. The sloppiness of the drive thru service is the reason this place gets 2 stars. If this issue hadn't come up EVERY TIME we come, it would be 5 stars. Seriously. Every we go through the drive thru, something ends up being wrong. They give us the wrong number of chicken strips, one time we got fried pickles (...???) as a side. But our biggest complaint is the mushrooms. Gosh, we love your food, Slims! We come by at least twice a week, because you're the bad relationship we can't seem to break off. But here is our big problem: you're getting between us and the mushrooms. My husband takes this kind of thing seriously. ;) What's weird is that the drive thru isn't consistent. If we order ONE box of mushrooms, we *typically* get a full box. If we order TWO boxes of mushrooms, we get a single box amount split into two boxes. (once I opened a box and there weren't even enough to cover the bottom in a single layer... We were NOT happy!!) If we swap fries for mushrooms and order a box on the side, same thing. And when we pay $10 extra to get two full orders of mushrooms and get hardly anything, we're understandably upset. It's like someone drops a full order of mushrooms in --- and splits it between boxes. Not fair!! You have delicious food. Please ask your kitchen staff to step up and pay attention -- and fill orders correctly! If we notice you're doing better, I'll increase stars. read more

I chose the fries which are very good. I got the slim dipping sauce which is kind of like catsup and mustard and sugar mixed together. It is sweet. They have a whole lot of other sauces also.
