Location was great with peacocks running around with nice water features and a patio deck areas outside. Inside was rustic with a steakhouse feel. Brisket deviled eggs were mid but the spinach artichoke dip was pretty good. Mom had the smoked prime rib that was fairly tender but fatty and heavily smoked, i had a pretty small chicken fried steak that was fairly good. Both of our baked potatoes were more steamed and disappointing. Her salad was minimally stocked with vegetables, all iceberg lettuce. Worst Service I've Ever Had in Lubbock We had 8:30 PM reservations and were seated promptly, but that's where the positives ended. Our server, Natalie, took our order and then disappeared until it was time for the check. She asked me why my margarita flight and appetizers were removed from the ticket maybe because we never received them! You'd think a waitress would notice that. I ordered the prime rib, which was dry and flavorless absolutely subpar. There are far better places in Lubbock for a decent steak. On top of that, I got the wrong side and had to flag someone else down since Natalie was nowhere to be found our entire dinner. What they brought out were soaked mashed potatoes sitting in au jus with no quality. When she finally came back, she apologized and said they had run out of baked potatoes but no one ever bothered to ask if I wanted something else. When I asked why she said kitchen is a mess and they just told her no bake potatoes till she brought the check when I had to ask for check. Overall, the service was inattentive, the food disappointing, and the experience not worth the price. I'd recommend skipping this place altogether until they seriously improve their service and communication. read more

So- first, the location is nice; out in the "country," peacocks walking around, little pond to look at, super job on outdoor ambience. The inside is rustic, dated, but homey. The food is average. We started with the chips and salsa/guacamole. No matter where we order chips, we always devour them; unfortunately here, we let the waitress pick them back up without hardly making a dent. They were EXTREMELY SALTY... like, wowza... unbearable. As for entrees, my husband got the chicken fry, which he said was good, and I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The salad was fresh, but the chicken was over cooked and extremely dry. Very unique place as you can dine with peacocks!! I really appreciated that this restaurant has a separate menu for special diets like vegan/vegetarian. Young lady who waited on us (sorry, forgot her name) was very attentive, suggested a few items, one being the green chili cream corn(was excellent actually) and was very personable. If you are near this area, I suggest you try it out. If you are camping at Lubbock RV park, it's very close and worth the drive over to grab a meal. Pretty location. This place is simply amazing. We were greated in the parking lot by one of the peacocks. We had reservations and so we were seated after walking in the door. The staff was very friendly and attentive (even with it being graduation weekend). Appetizer we got the bread basket and Texas deviled eggs. The Chile cornbread was so moist and sweet. The Texas deviled eggs were amazing! I think I could do half a dozen and call it a meal My wife got the chicken fried steak. It takes up most of the large oval plate. It had super crispy breading with a very tender steak. She couldn't eat half of it, good thing they have Togo boxes. I had the BBQ platter. The turkey was a bit of miss for me, it didn't seem to have captured the smoke as much as I would expect. The sliced brisket made up for it. A nice smoke ring around the most tender, juicy brisket around. Atmosphere=10+ I don't think I could eat on the patio. I'd be too distracted by peacocks walking around. The Furrs tribute night was chaotic to say the least. We were there over 45 minutes before even getting a drink. They also ran out of several of the few items they offered. Great experience both times we have been lately! Their salmon is some of the only wild salmon in town and they cook it perfectly! Our service was great and we love the atmosphere. I would love to see more vegetable options including a sweet potato. Great food; Great atmosphere; Great service from Alexa; Great weather so we could sit outside and listen to great music live. Ribs were really good and the pecan pie was spectacular. Maybe I'm missing it and the restaurant had an off night but the bar stock was out of many items listed in their regular drink menu, at least four beers and one tequila. We had our company Christmas party here and here's what we thought about it. Cons: *They put us in the bar area, which was cozy but not decorated for Christmas (I booked this dinner for our company Christmas party.). Other parts of the restaurant were decorated for Christmas. *I wish the person that helped me with the private party would've talked to me about a starter salad or appetizer and dessert. *The food was good, but could've been better with some easy fixes. The chicken fried steak was yummy but too salty, the grilled chicken breast was a little dry and the Redemption sandwich (which was highly recommended by a staff member) could've been amazing but definitely needed a sauce. *Between the parking lot and the entrance (which is a little ways) wasn't lit up and we could barely see where we were walking. Pros: You can create a limited menu for a private party. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Outside of the restaurant is beautiful. (It's located next to a natural river. Trees, bridge, etc are decorated with string lights which makes a nice ambiance. There are peacocks everywhere.) Overall, we still had a good time, and we'll probably come back to sit on the patio in the summer. read more

This restaurant is beautiful! Service was excellent but the food was even better. We munched on some chips, salsa and guac. I ordered the Tennessee Hot Chicken Sandwich and potato salad. Hands down the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The buns were delicious and i loved the spicy sweet flavor of the sandwich. Potato salad was delicious! The food was delicious. There were 19 people in our party and we all ordered the Texas BBQ Platter (different meat and vegetable choices). The order was brought out in a timely manner. Nick, our waiter was on point!!! There was never an empty glass on the table. He was efficient, extremely kind, always had a smile on his face, and delivered each person the correct order (all 19 of us)!!!!! We were all impressed with his attentiveness and positive attitude! Of course, the Peacocks are always such a pleasant surprise and add so much to the ambiance at your location. We took so many pictures tonight because even in the winter season the scenery is impeccable! We've eaten here quite a few times and we always have a great experience with good food and service. Emily went above and beyond today as our server. She was attentive, timely, kind, and great at her job. Our favorites of the day were the Tennessee Hot Chicken Sandwich, the strawberry and blackberry margaritas, and the peach crisp with vanilla ice cream. The kids love seeing the peacocks and the view from the dining room overlooks a stream and beautiful trees.
