On Saturday evening, February 21, 2026, my family and I went out to dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Mentor, Ohio. The food and service were very good. And my daughter paid for my dinner! The next afternoon, I could not locate my wallet anywhere!! I called a few other locations that I had been to, but it was at none of these. Later Sunday evening, some told me to call Longhorn. The person who answered the phone forwarded my call to LaLa, the manager. She informed me that yes, they did have my wallet there!! When I went to pick it up, everyone, including LaLa were very kind. If you want to see a kitchen and service team firing on all cylinders, visit this location on a Friday night. Despite the "busy night" rush, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server within minutes. The efficiency here is truly incredible. The Highlights: * Drinks: The LongHorn Old Fashioned was mixed perfectly, and the handcrafted lemonade was a refreshing, high-quality choice. * Appetizer: The Texas Tonion came out fresh, piping hot, and perfectly crispy. * Entrees: We added lobster tails to our dinners, and they were delectable. Most importantly, the steak was a perfect medium-rare--not easy to pull off during a rush! * Sides: Don't skip the crispy Brussels sprouts or the loaded baked potato. * Dessert: Finished with the strawberry shortcake, which was the ideal light and sweet end to the night. Longhorn is definitely more upscale in the chain restaurant world even though its technically casual dining. It has a modest feeling inside while presenting a more mature menu. There's definitely some for everyone here. I came here with some extended family in the fall last year while in town visiting. It was certainly busy, which is expected of the weekend rush. Thus, I am not distressed in the least about having to wait too long for refills and the like. The starter bread was fairly good, though not much else can be said I ordered the picky person's favorite hand breaded chicken tenders with some fries and side Caesar salad. The fries were good but not too good and sufficed for the meal. The side salad was actually pretty good and crisp, as it should be. The tenders were decent too, though a tad dry. This was my first dining experience at Longhorn Steakhouse, and I left impressed for sure. Glad to add this place to my list of favorites. read more

My family I've come to this Longhorn for the Last 10 years. And today had to be one of the absolutely worst service I've received from our waitress who was also wearing a certified trainer badge. First off My wife silverware was dirty, Then she ordered a water With no lemon and receive a lemon in it that was easily fixed. Then the food came out incorrectly not what I had ordered. Our waitress seem to be very inattentive to us, but focus on three other tables, walking around talking to them and laughing with them and managed to mess up our order along the way. Sorry Longhorn if this is how your trainers behave and can mess up orders how are they training the rest of your wait staff this is unacceptable. I was kind of disappointed in the overall dining experience. My daughter and I had a server who never returned to the table at all! Did not offer beverage refills, nor check to see if my steak was cooked correctly, none of it! She did return to clear dishes from the table and drop off the check!! The restaurant was very clean and quiet plus the the service was amazing. I did go during lunch hours so it wasn't busy at all. The lobster was spectacular and that butter was the best seasoned butter I've ever had in my life. Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. My first time here. While some rave about it, I can only say the petite filet was like roast beef. It was not cooked with pink in the middle to keep it juicy and tender. (PS; I ordered it Medium) The seasoning was ok, but would've expected a way better steak for a Steakhouse. Should've sent it back, but didn't want to upset my husband or guest. The positives. Salad and sweet potato were good. The decor was very Texas and fun. Our party of 6 for lunch experienced great meals and service when we dined here. First off our server was extremely attentive and made sure we had all the refills we needed and any extra sauces. She also checked on us frequently. The group of 6 had a variety of meal's including streaks, ribs, soups, salads, their onion tangles and their bread to share. Everything tasted fine, and I especially loved my chicken tender salad. Longhorn honey mustard and ranch dressing is delicious! My visit to LongHorn Steakhouse was great. When I first got in I immediately noticed the immersive western atmosphere and all the wonderful art. The server we had was Tim and they were really nice, refilled drinks without being asked, and let us take our time ordering. All of the food was great, except for the shrimp which was kind of bland but I've never had shrimp before and that might just be the taste. However everything else was amazing, the chicken had great flavor, the bread was soft and doughy, the rice was pretty salty but I like it that way, the mashed potatoes were nice and buttery, and the steak was excellent, nice, juicy, and tender. Overall I say this place gets 5 stars and nothing less. read more

Takeout was scheduled for 7:30 pm and was 15 minutes late. Food was not hot, not even warm. We all ordered a half rack of ribs (not cheap) and rib meat was cold and dry. Well this was a new experience for me. My wife and I went to Longhorn for an early dinner at 4:15. Upon arrival the hostess told us that it would be a 5 minute wait, as they were waiting for the servers to arrive. I thought that was odd, but we agreed to wait. 10 minutes later when another hostess appeared and told some recently arrived patrons showed up they were told that it would be a 10 to 15 minute wait for the servers to show up. It seems to me that the hostess's never give out the same information or they just make something up to placate the patrons. Either way this just shows me that this establishment is poorly managed. The final straw was when I saw a bug stroll under my legs, and I thought that is it, and we left. We went to another local restaurant for our dinner. If I could give them no stars I would have. This is really a shame as we have been going there since they opened many years ago. Went with family to the Mentor location for a birthday celebration recently. The place was pretty busy for a Monday evening! (good sign). The service was excellent (Thank you, Tyler!) and everything we ordered came out quickly and hot! Awesome steak and shrimp dishes as you'd expect; and reasonable prices which are difficult to find post pandemic! Will definitely be returning soon! Overall, I love LongHorn for a reasonable steakhouse. We started off with the spicy chicken bites that were incredible, I thought the sauce was delicious. We also got the wild west shrimp, that were just average, small, battered shrimp. Next, I got french onion soup, it was not my favorite. It came out cold and the cheese was not melted, barely any onion soup because the cheese was so thick. However, the filet and lobster tail that was outstanding, especially for the price. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. I also loved the loaded baked potato. We got grilled mushrooms and onions on the side which was a large portion, definitely a nice addition. We decided to treat ourselves after a rocky start to the year, and Longhorn Steakhouse in Mentor did not disappoint! The bread was hot and fresh, and our server brought us another loaf to enjoy along with our salads. Now . . . THE SALAD . . . absolutely THE BEST blue cheese dressing I've had at any restaurant, and I'm no youngster. It's very rich with a strong blue cheese flavor, and has chunks of (high-quality!) blue cheese in it--I'm thinking either Gorgonzola or Roquefort? Whatever the case, if you love blue cheese (and salad) as much as I do, I highly recommend that you give it a try! Also, the greens and veggies were very fresh, and they came in chilled bowls as well. I ordered the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken and it was moist and flavorful with no fat whatsoever and had lots of gooey cheese and Parmesan on top. The fries are hand-cut and were cooked to perfection--crispy on the outside with a "creamy" interior. My husband had the Ribeye Steak (medium-rare) and it, too, was seasoned well and cooked to perfection and very tender. (Yes, I had a few bites!) It seemed a bit thinner than in previous times, but that tends to be the case in many establishments these days--along with higher prices, of course. However, if we're going to be dining out less while spending more when we do, I would definitely return here, as the quality is still present and the service very satisfying. Next time I think I will try the 7-Pepper Steak Salad with that blue cheese dressing, though. I know, I know . . . who goes on and on about SALAD??? I've eaten here a couple dozen times and the food has never been bad. Not even one time was my steak not cooked how I like it (med rare). The sides and bread are always delicious and the price isn't outrageous for what you get. However service can be a bit iffy. I've never had a great experience it is always in the broad range of average. One time our table didn't have silverware and even after asking her numerous times she never brought it. Longhorn never diappoints. Great food and service. We love their lunch and dinner menu. A couple weeks ago, the waitress (new) accidently tipped over her tray sending ice tea all over the table, on the bread, and partly on the booth. She didn't tip the important drink though.....my Old-Fashion on the rocks. No damage....the manager quickly came to assist and he politely moved us to another booth. Later, he offered us a complimentary dessert. He was so classy and our waitress was equally as nice. They are very down to earth people who made a bad situation into a positive visit. Service was good, but they are a steakhouse and I can't get a correctly cooked stake I request a Med rare, the most common way to eat a Better steak, and I ordered the filet so the most expensive too. It came Med the first time I went there I ordered a ribeye, it was more Med to Med well. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst food experiences I've had by far. Not only did I receive a rare steak when I ordered it medium rare, we also ordered a chicken dish and that came rare as well. I have eaten here for years and loved it. Many time my sibling and I get together there in Mentor Ohio and there are 7 of us. We have always been treated great and usually they would seat us at the large roundish booth table in the corner and we always liked it. If that was not available they would arrange seating in another way. I recently went to the one in Mentor, ohio with my siblings (7 of us ) and we were told we had to wait. OK, fine. But, we waited a long time and others were being seated and I could see the large corner booth was available and this was at 5pm. I asked why we could not be seated there after a long wait and she said because the server was not at work yet (so weird it is after 5pm now) I see many other servers. I ask can we just sit there until she arrives and I am told no that is against corporate policy, really just to be seated????????? OK, so we continue to wait and probably 20 people have been seated as we are waiting. I ask again about the issue and we are told again we cannot be seated, I ask for the manager, there are 2 there that evening and I am told they are both too busy to talk with us. More than obvious now that we are not wanted at this restaurant!!!!!! Never ever in my life have I been so dismissed at a restaurant, just unbelievable. We of course left as they were never going to seat us because this against corporate policy!!!! The restaurant we went to next went out of their way to accommodate us. Just shameful treatment. Overall impressed with my first experience here. Food: 5/5 Steaks were cooked exactly to the level in which I requested. They were juicy, tasty and just over fantastic steaks, I opted for the fries as the side with my meal, which were just a little cold... However, that was the only negative I experienced here. You must also consider we had a party of seven. It is hard to have seven meals come out at the same exact time, so really you should pardon the cold fries. No complaints from anyone in the party. Prices were reasonable for the cuts of meat being cooked. We ordered two appetizers, the Spicy Shrimp and their Fried Onion strips - I believe it was referred to as a Tonion. Either way, portions on the appetizers did not disappoint, they were huge. Bread is complimentary and warm. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was friendly, and was pretty good about getting drinks filled. I will say this, the menu is slightly smaller due to COVID, but the staff was extremely knowledgeable about our menu questions. They were very good about COVID distancing, I would consider this restaurant very safe. Ambiance - Environment: 4/5 You know, it's a steakhouse. There's some cheesy things that are like "ranch" themed... horns and reigns. Overall it just looked like it needed a tiny facelift.
