Had a great dinner here with my mom on our way up to Montana for Vacation. It was close to our hotel so it was a very nice and convenient place to eat. Both our steaks were excellent. My filet was slightly undercooked, but was still juicy and tender. I'll always prefer my steak to be undercooked rather than overcooked so it wasn't really an issue. My lobster tail was delicious and don't get me started on their amazing Mac n cheese. Our server Troy was great and friendly as were the rest of the staff. The Atmosphere was nice and exactly what I have come to expect from Longhorn. This was my mom's first ever visit to a Longhorn Steakhouse as we don't have one back home and she really liked it too! Awesome place! Three of us had a delicious dinner here last Saturday! Such a wonderful restaurant with such friendly and excellent service. Our server was Lilja and she was fabulous! Very attentive and helpful plus very charming to speak to my entire family. Just a real super nice person! We had an appetizer with fried pickles, buffalo chicken and jalapeño and cheese poppers. Super yummy! The rolls are to die for! Who ever wrote on Yelp that the rolls are wonderful is 109% correct! So yummy! I had the chicken fried steak. Very tender and crispy so yummy! I'd order this again! My daughter had the ribs and loved them. Very tender and so juicy! My wife had the sirloin and shrimp and loved every bite. She said the shrimp were very tasty! We had a good time here, service was great and very attentive. The steak was cooked over what we ordered, mine was done and my husband's close to as well (instead of medium), but still very tender. So very disappointed in the service and food. I ordered the steak salad and confirmed with waitress no blue cheese. It came with blue cheese. I sent it back and the salad I then received had, the truth, 4 bite size pieces of steak. It was more like a dinner salad. The service was extremely poor. Disappointed is an understatement. The waitress was meh- didn't have much personality and wasn't overly friendly. The food was good however my MAIN issue is my steak was overcooked- medium and I got closer to well. By the time they fixed it both my husband and child were done with their food. This is our go to place when we fly into Rapid City. Service is always good and food is comparable to Outback Steakhouse. Nothing fancy as far as a steakhouse goes but you can always get something decent. If you order a steak it's usually too rare or too well-done so it go with the pork chops. This place is subtly racist. Most of the staff were very rude and discriminatory. The first thing the receptionist said to me byt the door was, "Help yourself." The female server politely asked me if I needed anything along with the dish I ordered. When I asked for something, she completely ignored me, almost as if it was on purpose. The large lady at the bar was asked by a customer to change the channel on the TV I was watching. She immediately changed the channel, even though she knew I was watching it. The customer saw me and mentioned to her, "Only if no one is watching." Then, she asked me in a rude manner, "Do you mind?" with the implied expectation that I would say yes. It feels like they don't like people of color here. I will never return to this place and will make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid this location. read more

My family has always been a fan of LongHorn Steakhouse and while visiting South Dakota we decided to visit a familiar chain. This review is based solely on service, because I lost my appetite by the time my meal arrived. Entering the restaurant we were seated immediately. Since we've been to this chain before we are pretty familiar with the menu and ready to order pretty quickly. While we were waiting, I started to see many other people get seated and cared for that entered after us. However I kept my patience and didn't say anything. Eventually our server arrived and all her actions from that point on went downhill. I want to make this as short as possible without going on a rant, but I want you to know the server that assisted us was racist. She showed her true colors based on the service and interactions with our table and the table next to us who was a white family. I am not one to cause a scene, but after thinking about how I got treated I feel that if you were an employer or any decent human being, you would want to know this happened at this restaurant, even though it's 2021. Any fellow employees treating any customer differently based solely on their skin is not acceptable. Upon observing the service by other servers that were not white, you can completely see the difference. When we received our dinner we asked for the bill immediately and to go boxes. I still tipped 18% because I wasn't sure if this restaurant splits tips with other servers and if they did, I would hate for this one server to ruin it for the others who worked so hard. Overall, I hope this is addressed. If it makes it easier without physically naming the server, she was one of the few white female servers not wearing a mask on July 4th. If she made one family feel like this, I'm sure there are others. Based on this review you guys know our family and friends will never go to this location, but I wish you guys nothing but success. read more

Disappointing. From the second we sat down we were rushed. I asked for a few minutes and our server gave us maybe 20 entire seconds before she came back around to take our order. I asked for a side of ranch once I got my food and when she returned with the ranch (two bites into our food) she dropped our check. "I'll be your cashier whenever you're ready" with two full entire plates in front of us. Either we were being profiled, or she was just trying to get out of there but at that point transfer the table. They weren't busy, people weren't waiting to get sat. She didn't ask if we wanted dessert. The second I picked up the check (still eating) she hovered the table and said she could take the check but I told her we weren't ready. Minutes later when I pulled out cash she stood at the table hovering. The second I put the money into the checkbook she said she could move so we could get up and go. It was so uncomfortable and rude. My file was gummy and had glued meat texture. Our New York strip wasn't fire roasted like we asked, and also had a gummy texture. Dirty plates with our bread and butter. The booth had crumbs all over the seat and table. Won't be returning. read more

Tried this steakhouse again after years. Service was good, thank goodness. I ordered the t bone, and it was good. Ordered medium rare and it was cooked perfect. Nice char with a bit of crisp but not burnt. The salad was just that a house salad. I ordered with mashed potatoes. These were just dehydrated mashed potatoes. Not very good. If they added garlic butter or whatever Applebees does, it would make the potatoes okay. I didn't finish my potatoes. My wife and daughter got the ribeye and those were excellent. Finally my youngest got the chicken strips in which she wants the family chicken strip eaters that these are probably a 8.5 out of 10. I would go back, the steaks are good, but the sides are not so much. In my opinion, if you want a steak for this price range and don't mind the louder atmosphere, goto Texas Roadhouse. I've been to many steakhouses over the years, from very expensive to moderately priced, and this one falls into the moderate range. Despite being a chain steakhouse, it didn't give off that typical chain vibe. The ambiance was nicely decorated, especially considering the area we were in. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted excellent. I ordered the Porterhouse and the meat quality was top-notch. My wife and son had the steak and lobster, and despite being in the middle of the US, the lobster tasted fresh, not frozen or stale. Their steaks were also perfectly cooked and delicious. The entire staff was extremely friendly, efficient, and accurate in their service. I'm not sure why this place only has 3+ stars, because for me, it was easily above a 5-star experience. Sometimes you will actually get the steak how you ordered it - the grill heats unevenly, so be prepared for that. The food is average, three star, nothing remarkable and is a feeble scratch to a red meat craving. The reason for my negative review is with the staff. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT, there has been more that once I've been overcharged. I prefer to tip in cash and I learned a lesson, twice having an additional tip written on the receipt. Surprisingly good steaks for 3 and a kid for under 100$. Ordered t-bone, rib eye, and tenderloin. The best cut is the tenderloin medium rare and my kid had the cheese burger fries which is an adult size. Thank you to the wait staff who had to work Christmas Eve and I apologize for committing the cardinal sin of eating out on Christmas Eve That being said I was impressed with this LongHorn Steakhouse. We didn't have to wait long to get seated. Our waiter made sure our drinks were full and found that perfect balance of checking up on us but not hanging out at our table. Ordered 9 oz filet rare received it medium never asked how was the steak ( it was eatable) had to ask for bread. Never got my mushrooms and they tried to charge me for them. 70% of longhorns forget them but don't charge for them. The broccoli was not steamed believe they were rare as very crunchy. Overall better than Texas Roadhouse as 95% of my steaks were overcooked there. 97 times to longhorn have had one steak well done and now this one medium. read more

My ribeye was ordered medium rare. There was no red at all. Pink center with a lot of brown edging, somewhere between medium and medium well (almost 2 shades over cooked). My wife's renegade sirloin was ordered medium well and received well done. Our waitress, Kennah, said they applied a discount, which was 10%. It was late and we had no time to wait for a reorder. I offered my military card at the end of the meal and the waitress did not apply the discount. She charged the card and it was only after I asked about the military discount that she said an additional discount was not possible. Isn't that what managers are for? I found that to be very disingenuous, to not mention that until I brought it up. Even with the small discount the bill ended up being too much for 2 overcooked steaks that neither one of was able to finish, not because we were full, but from being over cooked. read more

It was about 1900 hours and there were still some vacant tables for guest. We ordered the Filet, Longhorn, Outlaw Ribeye Renegade and the LH Burger. Our dishes all arrived at the same time except for the Ribeye. The Ribeye had to be recooked due to it being overcooked. The food overall was good and had a nice presentation.
