Wonderful meal and great service! My family came in and ordered steak and a bison burger. Everything was cooked perfectly! Ciglen was our server and took very good care of us. We also had their local desert and it was very delicious!

It was my friend's birthday so I tried to find a restaurant that was close to our hotel where we could walk. This was perfect, although they did not give her anything special for her birthday. We bought a bottle of wine before dinner in the bar and then we brought it to our table. We had a hard time making decision on what to order because there were so many choices. We decided to get a sirloin steak and then share our sides because you're allowed only one side. I had the soup, she had the salad. We had delicious Indian fry bread that came with our meal. I would highly recommend it and I will be back.

The place was good. The service was kind and it's a nice western ambiance. I got the prime rib dip. It was a little too dry. The flavor of the meat was good, but the dip was also salty so when paired together it was a bit much. Our table also got a sirloin steak, the beef tips, and a burger. The burger was great, steak was good (nothing crazy), and the steak tips were paired with a great sauce but a bit chewy. I loved the fries that were paired with mine- they were perfectly crispy and flavored. The best part of the meal however, was the BREAD. It was soooo good!!! Almost donut-like. Overall, this place was not a standout in my opinion, but it was good.

First time going there and it was definitely worth it! Super super expensive though for the area. The Buffalo filet made me really sleepy haha. Service was good nothing special. The restaurant had really cool chairs with wheels lol and a bunch of local history on the walls. Definitely would recommend for a date night or a special occasion!

Great food! Try the chislic! So great I ordered crispy pan chicken. One of the best options i choose! Just right. Service is nice, except for the grumpy lady in the entrance. The vibe is fancy and cozy. I highly recommend this place!

It was alright. Not many options for gf diners. Split the cowboy ribeye w my partner. It took a really long time to arrive bc the kitchen was backed up since they were nearly empty; once it did arrive it was cooked to the wrong temp. We requested medium rare and it arrived very bloody rare. The meat was very tough and hard to chew, if you like more chew in your cuts then this has that. Ordered our salad gf and it arrived w croutons. However, the balsamic carrots were delicious. Our kids got the steak tips with fries. Fries were delicious but the steak tips were over cooked, unseasoned, and past well done so it seems meat temps may be a challenge here. For dessert we did the sundae, creme brulee, and cheesecake which were delicious. The house-made whipped cream had an odd flavor though, not sure if they use non cows milk maybe, it's not sweet and had a slight funk. Service was ok, forgot my drink and as said earlier served gf salad w gluten containing croutons, he did offer to bring a new salad but just overall not attentive to detail.

Dakotah Steakhouse in Rapid City SD was a pleasant surprise! We started with Pheasant Poppers that was accompanied a delightful raspberry bbq sauce. Crunchy and delicious! I had Steak Tips with mushroom and onion a baked potato loaded with a house salad and their house rolls which tasted amazing! We can't remember which steak my husband had, but he really liked it. Everything was seasoned well and our server Sigland was attentive and knowledgeable about our menu choices! It was early (4pm) but the restaurant was rustic and inviting, clean and we got right in. Decorated with very neat cowboy and native American art! A highlight is their large and warm fireplace We loved it!

Great food, great service, nice decor. Steaks are good, filet mignon cooked perfectly. Good cocktails. Tomahawk steak was expensive but good for two.

This restaurant was located across the street from our hotel, the Fairfield Inn and Suites, so I checked Yelp for input. We decided to give it a try and we were so glad we did! The ambiance is quite cool with its cowboy motif and pictures of the Amercian Indians that survived the Little Big Horn Battle of 1876. The service was excellent, and the food was amazing! Let's start with our server, Sara (also known as Nash so as not to be confused with the other server named Sarah). She was so much fun and quite accommodating. Her smile, attentiveness and great personality complimented our visit immensely. Hats off to Sara for doing such a great job! We started off with specialty vodka martinis made with pomegranate. They were so good we ordered another round during dinner! We looked over the steak menu and saw that your selection would be served with fresh fry bread and honey bourbon butter, a cup of soup or house salad and choice of side. We chose a cup of the "Soup of the Day" which was a meatball and potato soup with a velvety broth like French Onion. It was so excellent! We told Sara to please compliment the chef as the soup was that amazing. We then feasted on the 7 oz. Filet Mignons, which were seared to a perfect Medium Rare, topped with a savory cowboy butter and Haystack onions. We added the accompaniment of the Blackened Spice Rub & Blue Cheese Bechamel (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!) The taste was heavenly! Our side of choice was the Roasted Brussels Sprouts, which were shredded rather than served whole or in halves. We both thought it added to the flavor of the sprouts themselves. I highly recommend the Dakotah Steakhouse!

Came here for my Moms birthday dinner, This place was awesome! Our Waitress was awesome and super nice, she was also very quick! The food came out relatively quickly. The food was amazing, I got a 6 oz. Sirloin stake for $24, WOW! It was so good! Definitely worth the money! And also a nice vibe! One of the best steak-houses I've ever been to!

We started our evening at Sear Steakhouse with some excellent drinks. The thyme mocktail was crisp…read moreand refreshing, and my husband's old-fashioned was fragrant and well-balanced, complete with a perfect bada bing cherry. His only note was a preference for a single large ice cube rather than crushed, but overall the bar clearly knows what it's doing. The appetizers set a great tone. Warm sourdough was fresh and comforting. I enjoyed the bright, crisp house salad, while my husband's pumpkin soup was silky, savory, and perfectly seasonal. We both ordered the 7-ounce filet mignon, and the kitchen truly delivered! His medium-rare was tender and juicy with a beautiful sear, and my medium-well was still succulent--proof of precise cooking. They have an outstanding variety of cool, reasonably priced side dishes. My husband was excited about the Queen's honey carrots which were tender and flavorful (though the honey glaze was very subtle) and the creamy mashed potatoes that are part of the steak dish, were nicely executed. I didn't realize my filet came with mashed potatoes underneath, so I ordered a loaded, baked potato as my side, and ended up with extra potato (which I'm not complaining about whatsoever lol). We also enjoyed the whiskey cream sauce with mushrooms, which added a gentle smoky creamy richness, and the onion soubise, which was pure sweet comfort. Dessert was a highlight, as we celebrated my husband's birthday - we ordered all three featured desserts: The crème brûlée had a perfectly crackled top and smooth vanilla bean custard, the flourless chocolate dessert was deeply rich with espresso notes, and the butter cake was the total star - warm, moist, and decadently buttery. Each dessert was excellent in its own way, but that perfectly sinful butter cake stole the show! The atmosphere was inviting--warm wood tones, comfortable booths, well-balanced lighting, and enough TVs near the bar to keep my sports fan husband happy. Service was friendly and pleasant, though we found ourselves wishing for a bit more attentiveness. With a very quiet dining room, very early in the evening (we had a 4 PM reservation), there were moments when water refills lagged and opportunities for wine suggestions went unoffered (and we were definitely wanting to order some red with our steaks, but gave up because by the time there was an opportunity, we were finished with our steaks). We also briefly looked into the small private dining room on our way through the bar, and while we were greeted politely by one of the employees who was sitting in there, it felt like they missed the perfect opportunity to highlight the space for potential events. That said, nothing detracted significantly from the experience--it was simply a matter of polish. A touch more proactive engagement could elevate an already strong offering into something exceptional. Overall, Sear Steakhouse delivered an enjoyable and memorable evening. The food, drinks, and desserts are clearly strengths, and with just a little added focus on service flow and guest engagement, this restaurant has all the makings of a true standout in Rapid City. We look forward to returning and trying new things!

The first visit was for a work event in the back room (not sure if that made a difference), and it was outstanding. The food was cooked to perfection--my steak literally melted in my mouth, and the sides were hot and delicious. I couldn't stop raving about it afterward. The second visit, after talking it up to my family, was a letdown. They were busy, and maybe that played a role, but it just wasn't the same. My steak was mediocre, and my husband was genuinely confused why I had claimed it was one of the best steaks I'd had in a long time. Unfortunately, when it comes to restaurants, the bad tends to outweigh the good. We haven't been back, and I can't justify the price tag when there are other great steak options in town. I know places can have off days, and maybe that's what happened--but I'm not willing to return to find out.

This is hearing damage level, folks! Service was awful. I ordered a margarita rocks, NO SALT. She brought it WITH salt. When I (finally) flagged her down she acted irked and argued that I ordered WITH salt. (Ummm no - but I will give her benefit of doubt because maybe she didn't hear me because it was so loud) They use germ laden self-pay ziosks because hey! Tip minimum of 20% for poor service quality and naturally we were charged for food we didn't order - two people and a $180 bill? No way. I ordered a $15.99 meal and so did my dinner companion and we each had just one drink and no extras. Once again, it took time to get any server to notice and resolve issue - no apology, just annoyance. I think they're annoyed because it's a SCAM and if you pay more without catching the error they get a bigger tip- funny they brought us the right meals then tried to charge us for Dallas ribeye and a large filet dinner and multiple drinks IN ADDITION to my $15.99 sirloin meal and his single pork chop meals. And you charge extra for butter for a sweet potato - talk about nickel and diming dining. Ugh! The FOOD was good and that is the only reason this review gets 2 stars instead of one. My medium rare sirloin steak was perfect - better than you should expect from a chain steakhouse - and my dinner companion liked his chop. Sides and side salads were generous and fresh. Still, I likely won't be back without noise cancelling earbuds and more patience though. I remain incensed with ziosks in general but even more so when I feel intentionally SCAMMED. (In this case, I think the manager should have apologized instead of continuing to chat up the hostess at the hostess stand, but hey! That's me. I'm just the customer after all... Be forewarned - they will probably be rude and overcharge you because I think it's SOP. Check your bill before you do part of their service job and pay by ziosk.

I suggest having reservations, because we called the day before and they were booked for the next two days. Thankfully, they slid us in on a cancellation. There is love here. Our server, Lucy, was super attentive and lovely. She definitely went the extra mile. The chef, Matt, was cooking for the entire restaurant with the aid of only one sous chef and the place was packed. Still, our food came out in a timely manner and it was all cooked to perfection. Quite a feat, given there were people at literally every table. It's not quaint in capacity, either. I was so impressed. As for the food- everything was phenomenal. We ordered a bottle of the Bordeaux, the charcuterie, the beet salad, the petite filet, the mushroom ragu, the creme brûlée and the home made peanut butter ice cream. It was a lot but as we are serious food lovers and I love to cook, we wanted to try it all. Although the menu itself wasn't visionary (not sure there is room for that in SD) the execution was. The filet melted like butter but had an extraordinary crust. Perfectly seasoned. I ate every bite. The creme brûlée is my go to dish- it's so simple but you can tell a lot from how it's executed. The custard was phenomenal and the crust was the perfect thickness, shattered just the right way with q wack of the spoon. The house made peanut butter ice cream... jeez. My husband ordered it. Not something I would have chosen but good lord, I ate the whole thing. I was in pain, but it was some of the best ice cream I've ever had in my life. People on Yelp complaining about seating or pricing are out of touch. This is a very small crew running the restaurant. The chef is an artist and he is killing it. (He is even the one who returned my reservation phone call!)
