This review is primarily about the host, Liv & manager Will. My family and I came to celebrate my brother in law's birthday. My sister made a 6:30 reservation in advance, fully aware it would be busy, and it was. When we arrived, the wait for walk ins was already an hour. At check in, my sister went to the host stand because her phone was having trouble checking us in. The manager on duty at the time, Will, confirmed that he checked us in manually and assured us everything was set. About ten minutes later, my sister approached the host, Liv, because she continued receiving texts about checking in and seating. She simply wanted to make sure there wasn't an issue. Liv told her we were checked in, everything was fine, and to ignore the messages. Important detail: we were a party of five plus a baby. Fast forward nearly an hour later. My niece was understandably losing patience, so I went to the host stand to ask about our table. That's when LIV told me they had texted us, we "weren't ready," and they gave our table away. Let me be clear: they were calling parties by name the entire time. Our name was never called once. And LIV was the SAME PERSON who EXPLICITLY told us to IGNORE the messages. At this point, we were obviously upset. Will and others acted confused and tried to piece together what happened, as if what we were explaining didn't make sense. Eventually, we were told that a large party was about to leave and that table would be ours. Even then, we still waited another ten minutes. Shockingly, NO ONE apologized. The only explanation offered was "miscommunication." Once seated, our server was great, genuinely the only bright spot so far. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, everything was cold. At that point, it was almost expected. Another manager later came to our table, clearly in a higher position than Will. He listened to our side, apologized, offered to remake the food, and gave us a discount. When we paid, our server informed us that an additional discount had been applied. It wasn't until I was literally walking out the door, as the last one to leave, that Will finally said, "Sorry about everything. Have a good night." At that point, it felt far too late. Honestly, LongHorn is going to do it every, single, time! The Wild West Shrimp and Wings are always seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Not too crispy, but crispy enough. And the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and Ribs?! Unmatched! The chicken is ALWAYS tender, the ribs always fall off the bone(they were a little too charred this time) , and the Brussels Sprouts ,w/loaded mash , never miss. Check them out! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service were at Longhorn Steakhouse!! I had a filet and my husband had a ribeye. They were cooked perfectly medium rare. Our steaks included huge loaded potatoes and salads. Everything was fresh and filling. The atmosphere was nice - although it would've been much nicer without the sound of loud children in the restaurant. I wish they had separate sections for tables with young children and adults who just want to be around other adults. Perhaps we will dine at a later time on our next visit. I didn't have any NYE plans this year, so I came here for an early dinner before a night of movies. We arrived at 5pm and were promptly seated. We only ordered waters to drink. The bread served was warm and very good! For appetizers, we shared the spicy chicken bites and cheesy mushrooms. They were both good, but the mushrooms were a little too cheesy - some people will love that! It just was a little much for me since I don't normally consume so much cheese. We both ordered the 6oz filet. I ordered mine medium rare. I loved it! It was sooooo tender. It practically melted in my mouth. For sides, I asked for the Caesar salad (portion was huge) and mashed potatoes. No room for dessert after all that! Overall, it was good for a chain restaurant. The service was great. I really enjoyed my experience at this Longhorn Steakhouse. There is ample parking and when we arrived around 5pm, we were told it would be about a 10-15 minute wait. Our table was ready before the full 10 minutes. Service was prompt and friendly. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. The drinks, I had the mango marg and we also had the dragonfruit marg double poor which was about 3 servings. The salads were fresh and crisp, bread was warm and delicious and the steaks were cooked perfectly to our desired temperatures. I also really enjoyed my sweet potato with cinnamon sugar and butter. It's rare to find a restaurant that works really hard to be sure your dining experience is perfect. My husband and I ordered the lobster chowder which was great, and the ribeye 12 oz plus the 22 oz Longhorn porterhouse. Salads were tasty and plentiful. The ribeye was perfectly cooked but the porterhouse came out overcooked at first. The manager, Cliff Latibeaudiere, and our server Oscar went above and beyond to ensure we got a replacement which was perfection. They treated us with the utmost consideration and respect and were attentive throughout our meal. The lava cake was also exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend this location and we would definitely take the time to drive the more than half hour trip to visit here again. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly on arrival so they definitely all turned what could have been a major disappointment into a memorable and positive experience. Well, they JUST opened a few hours ago and the place is hopping! It's comfortable, buzzing but not too noisy. It's well staffed with plenty of helpful servers around constantly clearing and keeping things moving. Our drinks were so very quickly refilled, before we even thought to ask! It's quick friendly service right off the bat! The fresh table bread is warm and delicious. We shared a strawberry pecan salad, which was yummy & refreshing. I loved my bowl of shrimp & lobster chowder served in a comforting warm crock. Hubby got a T-bone steak rare with a loaded baked potato. It was cooked perfectly and he couldn't even finish it! They add plenty of butter, so do mention it if you don't like that. Many staff members acknowledged us as we left and asked how we liked it. Yay-it was a real treat! This was my first time at longhorn and I really enjoyed it!! We started with a Caesar salad and French onion soup, the salad was pretty average but the soup was AMAZING and I'm not typically a huge fan of French onion soup. For our entrees we got the ribeye and the filet and both were good. The filet could've used some more flavor but for the price these were pretty good steaks. For our sides we got the loaded baked potato which was ok and the Mac n cheese and Brussels sprouts which were super yummy. The service was great and we loved the complimentary bread too! It's pretty solid. Steaks, obviously, are the main draw and they are worth a visit. Beyond the steaks, I really like the selection of sides. Highlights: Mac and cheese. Corn on the cob. Asparagus. Longhorn also does a nice job with the decor. They do create a nice steakhouse "experience." Even though they do the usual happy-birthday nonsense that all the chains do, Longhorn feels a little too classy for it. For this genre, I'd put them significantly above Outback but slightly below Texas Roadhouse. read more

Where do I begin after my late appointment yesterday we decided it was the best choice and my first time at this location. Great experience from the phone to see wait time upon arrival the host and manager opened the door for us that was true customer service we were seated at the boot and our waiter last night was Matt. Wow he did an excellent job went above and beyond hinting hint management. Very kind, offered suggestions when asked and attentive even though it started to get busy after we were seated maybe 10 minutes in as always wherever I go..., The place was very clean, great ambiance and let's talk about the food. My two friends got the Flo's Fillet and I had the ribeye steak wow all three cooked to perfection. We had mushrooms and 2 Caesar salads and one garden. 2 with sweet potato and one with mashed potato and side of asparagus yummy. A glass of suggested red wine , strawberry lemonade and one water. Their warm bread is always on point. Then I had the vanilla ice cream as dessert plus We all took a little something home. Ordered the New York Strip (thick cut steak) medium-rare. Arrived thinner than expected and medium-well. What's more the meat was tough, the staff inattentive, the food in general mediocre. Well shy of the prices in quality of food and waitstaff service. Better to spend the money at a quality butcher's and grill yourself than pay more than $120 for four people (without alcoholic drinks!), than endure this nonsense. If you're hell bent on going out, maybe try a local restaurant with a good reputation. Avoid this chain store of average meat and mediocre foods. read more

The waitress was very friendly and efficient. I'd pick Longhorn over Texas Roadhouse any day, especially since there is a Longhorn only 15 mins from us now. This was our first visit to this location but we have never had a bad meal or an incorrectly cooked steak at this chain (unlike Texas Roadhouse). I'm definitely a fan of Longhorn Steakhouse and their brand in general. This was my first time to the Rocky Hill location, and it did not disappoint! We went on a Saturday evening, so the 20 minute wait was expected. Once in, I really liked that the atmosphere was lively, but not so loud as to not be able to hear ourselves chatting. The food came out in a timely manner. We first ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, followed by our Caesar salads, and then entrees came out. The food smelled delicious. I ordered the sirloin steak (6oz) with the Redrock grilled shrimp. The steak was juicy and flavorful, and the shrimp were just as good and cooked in a succulent sauce but also served with garlic butter. The potato was perfectly tender and cooked with all of the good stuff. Our waitress was really kind and even made a few jokes with us throughout our time dining in and was very considerate of what we might need without coming off as pushy. Every single person employed there said good bye and thank you to us as we headed out as well. Not sure what the less than five-star reviewers were on about (other than mixing it up with Texas Roadhouse and the like), but it's a brand new restaurant that has been open for less than a year, super clean and well-maintained, not to mention the great decor and friendly atmosphere. The only thing we love more than the food itself is the staff, who all have a great attitude, attention to detail and, equally important, great sense of humor. (Just ask them for ketchup with your steak! ;) We've been coming here 2-3 times a month, with or without kids, always getting a consistently tasty meal (and if not, they sure make it right.) Visited the Longhorn Steakhouse in Rocky Hill and it was really good. Our server, Liz N, was friendly and prompt and very professional. Brought us some warm bread upon our arrival. The food was good quality and very tasty. We shared the chicken wing appetizer and the seasoning was delicious. Sauce and blue cheese came separately so we weren't overwhelmed with the sauces. Some places drown the wings. Great start to our meal. I had the chopped steak and the gravy was rich and full of mushrooms and onions. Baked potato was good. We are big steak fans, and wanted to try out Longhorn for the first time since this new location is close to our house. To start off, the Margarita was absolutely terrible. I'm talking bottom shelf and straight up mix flavor. Two out of our meals were absolutely inedible when they came out. I ordered a medium steak and it came out medium well. The ribs you couldn't even cut with a knife they were so chewy. we sent both back for them to remake. The manager came over to say he was sorry. Sitting there with a toddler waiting even longer for meals to be redone wasn't what we imagined for a nice night out. We will stick to Texas Roadhouse and won't be back.
