We had a party of 5 for an early Sunday dinner and were hungry for a steak. Most of us hadn't tried this location in Springfield so we gave it a try. The call ahead seating is a very convenient option, especially for seniors. This Longhorn's decor was like all the rest in the chain, comfortable and welcoming. Our hostess and server Lexie were very friendly and helpful. We ordered the "Tonions" as an appetizer- very tasty . Several of our party ordered steaks, one chicken tenders and I had the salmon. All were very flavorful and good quality. Like everything anymore the prices have gotten a little out of hand but since we had a good experience, we got our money's worth. The steaks here are great. I belong to an expensive country club in the stakes. Here are nearly as good at a third of the price. The sides are excellent as well. The baked potato, mashed potatoes, side salads, and of course, the delicious bread are worth coming back for. I was surprised with our experience actually! We ordered to go as we just finished a long road trip and wanted to be in our hotel for the evening. We ordered an 8oz sirloin with shrimp. The steak was actually cooked perfectly, and still melted in our mouth even a half hour after receiving our order since we took it to our hotel. The shrimp had delicious flavor! We ordered a baked potato and rice for our sides, but we also ordered a side salad and Brussels. They sadly forgot the baked potato, but Longhorn customer service helped us with that! I've tried the sirloin in five different restaurants nearby and only one came close. Their Renegade top sirloin is always a better cut than Cheddars, Outback, Big Whiskey's, Texas Roadhouse , and Colton's. The only steakhouse in Springfield I recommend to family and friends. Sunday afternoon, fairly crowded but no waiting for a table we were seated right away. That was extent of getting good service. Not even one beverage refill even offered. The food was good, nothing extra special but kinda expensive. The restaurant could stand a setting refresher, getting a little worn and dated. Overall, I'd suggest staying away from Longhorns during the weekend due to the overworked staff and the lack of a reasonable lunch priced menu. There are better restaurants around. read more

Great atmosphere and decor. Service was to par. We started with the Texas tonion appetizer which was good. Both of our salads seemed very large, however they didn't put a proportional amount of salad dressing on either one. My wife ordered a sirloin med rare which was cooked well and was tender. Her loaded baked potato was as expected. I ordered a medium rare KC strip and loaded sweet potato. My sweet potato wasn't completely cooked. The steak was over cooked. Additionally, it was not as tender as my wife's sirloin. The strip costs about 30% more. The steak was barely lower bottom 1/3 choice. Full disclosure, I work for a beef company so I can tell beef grades. Although our waitress was attentive and timely, she never asked us if we enjoyed our meal. We hadn't been to a LH in several years, and won't be back. To many other options in town for 2/3's the cost. read more

We had a very nice dinner here. Both of our meals were good. The Flo's Filet tasted great and cut like butter.  My only complaint is that they did not wait for me to check the doneness of the steak.  Had they, it would have discovered the steak was overcooked by one level.   Because it was still tender, and it tasted good, I didn't complain. This is just a concern about the delivery process. The salad was fresh, but other than croutons, the other vegetables were on the bottom.  We were concerned there weren't any cucumbers, tomatoes, or cheese until I was part way into the salad. I'm not sure what that's about. The Gambler burger was cooked to specification and seasoned well.  The vegetables were fresh, and the Cheddar cheese rounded it out.  Adding the baked potato made it the perfect meal. The cheesy mushrooms appetizer lived up to the name. The toasted cheese on top was delicious, and the filling had great flavor as well.  The Texas Tion tasted fine, but it didn't look appetizing. Something about the appearance after being fried made them look more like fritters than the Tions. All this said, if I'm in the area, I will be back. I know what to look for to ensure my expectations are met and am certain my filet will be incredible. read more

Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone down hill. The staff are friendly & the place is clean, but they keep making changes for the worst. First they downsized their menu, reducing the options, but now they've raised their prices...again. I get that everywhere has raised their prices, but $18-$20 for A CHICKEN BREAST meal is ridiculous. We waited at least 15 minutes before the server came to take our drink order so we placed our food order immediately because we weren't sure when she'd get back with our drinks and bread. Such a great value, and the foods have always been cooked to accommodate our preferences and our daughter's special dietary restrictions. Not only have we been pleased with the quality of our meals and the price, but we especially enjoy having Sarah (our receipts show "Sarah S") as our server. She's so courteous and attentive to our needs. Always a delight to see her smile as she scurries about to help us, and other patrons, experience an especially pleasant mealtime. Everything we ordered did not fall short. We had the spinach dip that had a DELICIOUS Parmesan crust on top with perfectly fried pita bread. My Caesar salad was crisp, fresh and cold. My salmon had the perfect glaze, the rice was seasoned perfectly and the brussel sprouts were HEAVEN. Our service was excellent. Several parties were sat before us (my husband & I), when asked why there were so many being sat before us we were told that the other customers had online reservations. First off, this was a good restaurant with a solid staff , the managing partner Lonnie is very approachable working with his team and wanting things to be a good experience. I personally experienced this when I shared the bartender feedback about my steak being topped with lot of salt rather than a even mix of seasoning - she reached to Lonnie and he certainly wanted to make things right when I insisted it wasn't necessary . I really appreciated it regardless . I will say the filled mushrooms and bread were certainly delicious for appetizers with the salad . The salad was colorful and honestly one of the better salads I've had - fresh ! We were on vacation from Colorado and had eaten at a Longhorn Steakhouse in Kansas City up around the airport and had one of the best meals and atmospheres my wife and I had enjoyed together in years. So, after continuing our travels to Springfield Mo. we thought we would eat at the local Longhorn Steakhouse. WHAT A MISTAKE We arrived about 5 p.m. on Sunday October 27th and the restaurant was not busy, maybe 1/4 of the tables were occupied. The food and atmospheres were NOT even close to the same. This place was FILTHY. When the host took us to our table to set down there were smashed french fries in the carpet under and around the booth table, so we requested a different table and that booth table also had food items under it but not as bad. Around 15 minutes later the host brought back a small vacuum and partially cleaned up the smashed french fries from the 1st table but neglected to clean up the trash that was on the carpet within 5 feet of where he was working. So for the next 45 minutes while we ate dinner we watched as 8-10 different employees walk past and over the other food items and trash on the floor. I did walk around the restaurant to go to the bathroom and most everywhere there was trash or food items on the floor and quite a few tables of dirty dishes that sat on the tables while employees walked past. I thought I was at a buffet restaurant. NOT A PLEASANT ENVIROMENT TO HAVE A MEAL I do have pictures to post and I will as soon as I figure out how. read more

The parking lot had ample parking and the greeter was great. After that, it was a downhill story. I have been to Longhorns many a time in other cities but after eating two meals at this location and receiving dirty silverware and napkins the first time with mediocre service and the second time dirty silverware again. The Parmesan crusted chicken is my absolute fave but after biting into raw chicken, no more. I just can't do it. The server was very kind on our first visit and tried to take care of things but hey, she's not the cook and the server on our 2nd visit was just slow, brought wilted/slimy salads and just overall was short. I definitely won't be frequenting here again. I definitely do want to give the manager a thank you for refunding my money. I couldn't even think about food after that chicken and he was patient. Overall, we will stick with Colton's for their friendly staff, delicious food cooked to order and decent prices. read more

We go often - I try something different each time. Went for lunch this last time. Got the chopped steak with onions and mushrooms - fancy hamburger that is cooked like steak and seasoned like steak and did not disappoint. Was fabulous and I always get the brussel sprouts because there is nothing like them. The funny thing about that, I don't care for brussel sprouts. We also got the spin dip with fried pita bread - oh my gosh, best spin dip I've had. Total standout. I usually love LongHorn's steaks but I came here during lunch and decided to take advantage of their lunch menu. I got their hamburger and fries which was absolutely delicious especially with a side of BBQ sauce. I also ordered a tall Michelob cus beer is always good right after class. However, I had to take a start off because our waitress just was not great. The service was off today and I'm not sure if it's like this all the time but it made me not really want to come back. I came here with a few of my friends and their cups were always empty. We had a manager come and refill our cups a couple times. But I attached some pictures of my meal! UPDATE 1-14-19 They still offer a GF menu. We were very specific about his celiac disease with the waiter, yet somehow ended up with croutons in his salad (hidden under the meat). Server was super apologetic and brought a new salad and took it off our bill. Still so frustrating to understand where the breakdown happens from ordering to preparation! So, be super vigilant about your order. Insist the server talk to the chef about your condition! GLUTEN FRIENDLY. Actually they have a book of allergens which lists what you can order from the menu that is safe for that particular issue. My GF hubby had the prime rib, rice pilaf and sautéed mushrooms, which he said was very good (didn't offer me a taste!) I seem to always stick with the strawberry chicken salad-the grilled chicken has a nice flavor, got the dressing on the side and ate nearly all of the "goodies" in the salad ( it's a generous helping!). The manager (maybe) came out to apologize for the wait which we really hadn't noticed as we were busy talking. The waitress did forget to bring our friend's beer, but other than that it was a good experience.
