Always Consistent! I stopped into the Longhorn Steakhouse location for something on the lighter side. I have had their steaks and grilled meats many times over the years, but on this visit I had one of their salads. One of the main salads on their menu is the Grilled Chicken and Strawberry salad, which is made with Grilled chicken breast, field greens (not Lettuce ) with fresh strawberries, grapes, mandarin oranges, candied pecans, feta and a raspberry vinaigrette. I also ordered a side of their grilled shrimp, which you will find on their sides menu. The service was good and the food fresh and plentiful. The shrimp tasted as they should, and I had a good, not-too-heavy meal at an affordable price point. I will say that Longhorns Steakhouse is always consistent and one of my go-to's when travelling throughout the US. read more

Haven't been here in years, but met a friend on Sunday for lunch. I can't remember the female servers name ( throw out receipt). Not a great location, I ordered the usual fillet with shrimp, side salad, and steamed broccoli. My salad had some black slimy lettuce, right on top that I saw as soon as the waitress said it down. Obviously the person who made it didn't bother to look, neither did the waitress. When I got her attention and asked if I could just get double broccoli instead, she got an attitude and said oh sorry you got some dried out lettuce. I pointed out that it wasn't dried out. It was black and slimy. The manager came over and apologized. My mistake was undercooked, I ordered it, medium. The outer edges on the bottom of it were barely cooked. Wife and I have been going here for years, and we have never had anything but great meals. From salads, steaks, lobster, ribs and pork chops, all cooked perfect and such a great value. My friend and I were in the mood for a good steak. Longhorn Steakhouse came to mind based on my previous experiences. We were lucky enough to have Sharon as our server. She constantly checked in with us. We started with a mango and a dragonfruit margarita. Both were delicious ! I liked getting a frosted glass and a shaker. Sharon asked us if we wanted bread. We did and it was warm and delicious. Both of us ordered a salad. My friend remarked how the salad was great because it had lots of lettuce and vegetables. I am picky about thousand island dressing and the restaurant's dressing was tasty like my Mom's. Both of us ordered a filet with different temperatures. Then I ordered a loaded baked potato. My friend ordered asparagus. Sharon advised that it was an up charge. I love restaurant honesty! When our meals arrived we were both extremely pleased. Both steaks were exactly cooked as ordered. We enjoyed every morsel. We'd started with the southwest shrimp. We were getting full at this point so both of us brought steak home. Sharon was attentive to the end of our dinner. Very pleased. I usually order the Flo's Filet or the Parmesan Crusted Chicken. Both of the items are so good. I love the bread given at each table at the beginning of the meal. My family had Randy as our server . I can tell he is a veteran. Double Checked the order for 8 and really flexible with orders when things seemed off (raspberry lemonade instead of raspberry tea etc). Has a good memory too or at least decent. Some of my relatives thought the quality of the meat wasn't the best. I was fine with it and felt it was pay for what you get. They tried to compare it with a local meat place but I feel the places are not comparable. Sure, the meat could've been more juicy and tender, but it was certainly still presentable and edible without that higher caliber that maybe you'd expect at a Morton's or Ruth Chris's. I get the sense he enjoys his job but that the work in general can be very tiring for most. He is good at carrying stuff too. All of the sides I saw and had were excellent. (brussel sprouts, grownups mac and cheese, salad). The bread was excellent. I had no room for dessert but I will buy a dessert at the one local to me instead lol. Sadly hit or miss. We are there at times it was really good, but our last time was awful. Appetizer, bread and salad came at one time then food a few minutes later. 3 steaks were over done when ordered medium and 1 steak was about raw. We ordered take out so I didn't expect this to look very pretty when we opened it and that was accurate. We had a mixed experience. The food was packaged correctly which is half the battle when we order out. Everything was right. My food was good, the side salad was really fresh and the fruit on it was awesome, ripe and sweet. The baked potato was cooked perfectly and my chicken was delicious. The steak for my son (kids sirloin) was over done and too tough for him as a result and my husband's filet was under done. He requested medium and it wasn't quite there. Disappointing considering the price of the 10 oz steak. We know there's a risk to correctly prepped food when we order out so typically we don't do steakhouses for takeout and we likely will stick to dining in for this reason in the future. I truly enjoyed the French onion soup and the sweet potato, but the steak just didn't make the same impression. I think we'll skip this place next time and find a new tradition to start. Great food! Great service. COVID restrictions are at 59% capacity. The entire family went to dinner this evening. Grilled shrimp and lobster and shrimp chowder earned 5 stars. One of the steaks ordered was cooked perfectly but it was a little salty. The other two steaks were great. The loaded potato soup was too cheesy for my daughter's liking. Came in here for lunch earlier in the week and it was a very pleasant experience, so I came back a second time just a few days later. The atmosphere is cowboy/country themed, and fitting for the menu. Very comfortable and the staff is friendly and attentive. There are a variety of lunch combos available that come with a combo sized sandwich and choice of a salad or bowl of soup. I chose the crispy buttermilk chicken sandwich that came with seasoned French fries. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy in the middle. Served with lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle, It was exactly what I've been craving. Talking to the server, I discovered that they use usda prime grade steaks. Only 2% of the steaks produced meet prime grade (I'm a culinary professional), and are reserved for the best restaurants. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. My faith in Longhorn steakhouse has been restored. After the fiasco experience at the Waterfront location (Thurs April 28, 2022) there is no comparison to the Pittsburgh Mills location of Longhorn steakhouse. We arrived at 1:20 PM and were seated immediately. We waited about 3 minutes until our server Kiersten came to our booth. We ordered our drinks and received them in a very short time (maybe 4 minutes) and then ordered our food. In the meantime, Kiertsten brought us a warm loaf of that famous bread. The appetizer came shortly after the bread. It was delicious, as usual. It wasn't much longer after the bread and appetizer that we received our order. My chopped steak was done to perfection (I'm a committed steak snob, even if it was only chopped steak). My wife had the Flo steak and she loved it. If we had experienced another incident like we did at the Waterfront location we would not have ever considered Longhorn steakhouse again. it was a minor inconvenience to drive the 20 miles but it was worth the trip. We will continue to frequent Pittsburgh Mills Longhorn for years to come but we won't ever go back to the Waterfront again because we had 3 very bad experiences there over the past 2 years. Incidentally there were 3 servers at the Waterfront and only 2 at Pittsburgh Mills and the Waterfront wasn't as busy as the Pittsburgh Mills location. It might be time for Longhorn to shut down the Waterfront and give everyone at the Pittsburgh Mills location a raise. read more

I think that Longhorn has been my favorite mid-price, steak chain for quite a long time, but this location in particular has consistently good with both the food and the service. I've gotten used to getting a dud steaks every now and again where the steak is just chewy and generally not good, but this location has consistently given me decent steaks and it's always been cooked to the specified temperature. I will say that if you like wings, I feel like their smoked wings are surprisingly good. They have that nice, Smokey flavor, come off the bone easily, and the skin is cooked to where it's not soggy. The chicken wraps have always been nice and tasty with a zesty dipping sauce that I enjoy. The cheese fries aren't bad, but wasn't given chili the last time I ordered it it came sans the chili and when I asked, I was told that the chili has been removed. I usually go with the sirloin and as stated earlier, they have always given me a good steak. When I've gotten grilled shrimp it's always been decently cooked where the shrimp isn't rubbery and touch. I think that their grilled salmon is something that is easily missed. I feel like it's seasoned and grilled well. The Parmesan crusted chicken has always been tasty, but it is very rich. It's something that I'd recommend ordering only if you're pretty hungry as I've taken it as a leftover twice and it just doesn't seem to reheat too well, but it may just be me. Lastly, I'd like to say that the staff has always been pretty decent. I've always had friendly and attentive servers. I don't ask for a smile even though it's nice, but I really appreciate it when it doesn't seem like the server is annoyed. I know that the food service industry is frequently unfair and miserable and while I try to be as courteous as possible, I know it has to be hard to be congenial.y experiences with the staff and management has always been positive. read more

It was busy it's actually always busy it was a half hour wait but we sat at the bar and had a drink. It's always very loud not much they can do because it's packed. The portions are really big and I've never had a bad steak it does take a while to get the food. When they brought the food they served my dad and I first instead of my mom and niece I even told the waiter good idea to serve the men first because I was hungry. Definitely won't do take out again. They were out of one of our choices and did comp the replacement, after shoving a menu in my boyfriends face. The attitude made him make a quick decision and he ended up getting something he couldn't eat due to food sensitivities. Ignored at the host stand and the to-go section by the bar. Our rib portion was much smaller than expected and the amount of fries given for takeout is significantly reduced from an in-house order. We had intended to share based on the portions we'd seen during previous visits. You just have to look at chains that are no longer in business. They are the ones who don't care about the customer.
