Ordered the "Cod father" fish sandwich for lent on Friday. We had heard it was enormous so we asked to split it. When it came out it was a ridiculous amount of fish to bread ratio. So we asked for a second bun to make 2 normal sandwiches. I attended a comedy show which was also a fund raiser for a nonprofit organization. We had called 2 weeks prior to the date to make reservations for 6, but when we arrived the had not recorded our reservations, so we were sat in a corner table where we were unable to see the comedian. There was a very large crowd, service was poor but that often happens with large crowds. We ended up with 10 people at our table, seating was definitely cramped. The worst part of the evening was the pizza, I ordered white pizza with extra garlic sauce. They did not have garlic sauce? No garlic sauce? The cheese was very tasteless fortunately there was salt & pepper on the table to give our meal some flavor. We also ordered potato soup, the potato soup was very good. I've recently been coming here for karaoke. This place is fun and welcoming and the food is great too. It's a good place to go for a drink and share apps with friends. Nice open area with a pool table and bar too. I will be frequenting this establishment as they seem to have a decent amount of entertainment as well. Good beer prices, good beer selection, the food is unremarkable bar food. Seems to have a pretty active local crowd of regulars and a friendly sort of place. Definitely a neighborhood bar feel. Overall a good place to get a drink. I was not too impressed with their wings, or any of the food I saw served. read more

Excellent food. When they say large portions, they mean it. Large fish without bun could feed three or four alone. Recommend they nut & blue cheese salad with chicken. My only suggestion is for a better selection of beer. By which I mean local craft beers. It should be packed on a Friday evening for dinner. Waited 2 hours for take out. Okay got it comped when I complained got home food was stone coldl. Never again. Thought I posted this 3 years ago when I wrote it. I was true to my word till the quest for a good fish sandwich lead me to try the "award winning " Codfather. Do I called to order take out. I have no complaints the service was prompt and friendly. But when I got home and saw the two large nondescript pieces of fish floating in a sea of grease I have to ask were the judges blind. We used The Rose for my daughter's bridal shower, when I walked into the banquet room I was in awe. The setting was beautiful with such atmosphere. The food was delicious the staff was great, Crystal worked very hard and did a very good job being that she was the only server that day. I have not one complaint about anything! Great place, great food and great people. Restaurant with a small bar with a pool table makes for a cozy atmosphere. It is no longer a smoking bar, so I would think that appeals to many more customers. Jamie, the bartender, is an awesome guy and great at what he does! They've brought in more types of beers in the last year, so that's ideal for some of the crafty beer types. I'm not a big fan of pizza, but I love theirs. The Roseberry sauce for wings is my favorite - sweet with a bit of a kick! Their fish sandwich is the best in the area. You really can't go wrong with what you choose from their menu. I've had many great lunches here and fun nights shooting pool. It rarely ever gets obnoxiously loud with unruly customers like some other bars, so it's ideal for those who want a fun night without the drama. read more

This place is rather hidden in the depths of White Oak, PA (an otherwise un-hip place), but it is worth the hunt! Most definitely try the soft pretzels (with chocolate, cheese, and mustard dips...that's 3 distinct things, not one dip...ew), and "The Nib" sandwich, which is the classic Pittsburgh fried bologna sandwich with potatoes ON THE SANDWICH. Potatoes on bread is a highly underrated delicacy. read more

Possibly the worst dining experience I've had in 66 years. Firstly the place wasn't that busy. My appetizer took about 30 minutes to arrive and then wasn't even cooked as I had asked for. Then my entrée finally arrived and the meat was virtually inedible. My waitress never apologized for the horrible service, never offered any type of compensation for completely wasting my time, nothing. read more

A group of us visited the Rose on Sunday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, extensive menu and service. I had grilled shrimp tacos and they were excellent. The sautéed veggies were perfect and the wings and cheese balls were great. Our waiter was very efficient. I am not from this area but I will return again. Don't pass this restaurant up. Another new discovery for me is Rose Bar & Grille in White Oak, PA. Had never been there until Friday night and I'm sure glad we did. My wife had chicken parm and I went for the cod father fish sandwich. Not only were the portions huge, the food was great! The light breading on the fish was perfect. I was told that the chicken parm was spectacular. Our server Anna did a great job of making us feel welcome and keeping our drinks full and icy. Tried this restaurant and thought the food was good and it seemed like a nice place. I knew it has been under different names and ownership over the years so being the type that would rather support the local guy i started to visit often. Trying to help promote the place i asked if they would let me bring in a group of 15 guys to do our fantasy football draft. All we asked for was use of the small side room they have so we could conduct our meeting. We woud be eating and drinking and our families meet us afterward, we would spend a lot of money and most of these people have never been there. Of course showing why they have closed and changed ownership over the years so many times, they decided we could only use the room with a 300 dollar room charge. Mind you its not as if this room is used often, its almost always empty and they have plenty of other rooms that are also empty! So the end result is we will take our business elsewhere, they will lose not only the business that night but all the business of people that would have been with us coming back. Great business decision, people like this i want to shake and ask WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? I am trying to help you dont turn away business, its a no brainer!
