Grilled salmon with honey bourbon sauce
    Cathy W.

Giving Route 66 Grille 5 stars, because we have nothing to complain about - service is fast and friendly, food is great and the atmosphere is pleasant for dining. We went to this family owned local restaurant for the first time in a couple of years, to see the Christmas trees, there are over a hundred, large and small, a little after Christmas, and are thankful they were able to remain open despite the pandemic. I think during that time we had ordered takeout a few times. This evening, my husband ordered the jumbo fish sandwich that he loves (very popular during Lent). We also ordered the grilled salmon with honey bourbon glaze and the steak sandwich (pictured). I believe the restaurant is closed Sundays and Monday's. Full menu online.

My wife picked this place, and it was definitely a great choice. Their restaurant has been around for about 25 years, as Route 66, and they have lots of Route 66 signs, all over, as well as Christmas trees in various areas. We elected to sit next to one! We had the sirloin, with potatoes, and the salmon, with rice. Both of us had salads, and we were impressed with both meals, and salads. The salmon comes with a sweet bourbon glaze, that was really tasty. Our waitress, Brandy, was friendly and helpful, as was the hostess. Also, the owner/manager came by and asked if everything was alright. I always appreciate that. Be mindful of the oncoming traffic, if you park in front of the restaurant, when you back out of the parking lot. Traffic coming off of Route 66 doesn't have to stop, when exiting onto Old Route 66.

This family-owned and operated grill offers casual dining at reasonable prices. They specialize in grilled steaks, burgers, fish sandwiches, legendary homemade potato chips and a Colonial Delmont honey mustard dressing that is definitely worth a try! I love their daily soup features, lunch and dinner specials. They have great appetizer items such as shrimp champagne, red pepper flat bread bruschetta, buffalo wings and much more. On Wednesdays they feature their 8 cut one topping pizza for 8.95. Our meal was topped off with the Grille's homemade pecan ball. Well worth the visit alone! The dining area is a little dated but very spacious and is as cozy and inviting as the bar section. Customized menus and accommodations for 60 guests can be arranged. The service was friendly, welcoming and attentive. We were sincerely thanked for patronizing their business and invited to visit them again soon.

Traditional midwestern place, quite suitable for bigger groups, seems family owned.. I had a '33' burger that was bun less, my fiancée had a regular burger with ham and cheese and we shared a shrimp basket.. food was simple, fresh and tasty, service was prompt and pleasant.. overall, thumbs up all around !

Start with mussels and clam chowder. The Jumbo fish is a big taste. Got to get it. The cheeseburger is a staple. Cheese steak was a Pennsylvania favorite. Top it off with the mini bundt and ice cream. Gets no better than that. Service is Exceptional.

Poor food quality and value. Steaks are tough and paper thin. More of a VFW Hall than a fine restaurant

Things half painted, if it was painted at all. Tv's on the wall, half of them on. The cooking happens behind the counter and can be seen by the whole restaurant. The young kid that was cooking did not wear gloves and was not real verse in prepping multiple orders at one time. Very slow We had sat there for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. They finally took our order and I watched the cook that was switched out with an older woman cook our order with no gloves on. She rinsed her hands with water, but no soap. As she was cracking the eggs, I saw her put her finger in the bowl the egg was cracked into to get out some egg shells out of the egg. YUCK! There was a dog in the restaurant. It was not a service dog, it kept on barking. No sense of urgency, customer service, or concern for anyone else's experience. This is now called Kastner's Cafe and Catering. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant let alone this Catering company. The food was marginal at best and service was poor. Just because you have a restaurant and produce food does not make you a restaurant that people want to go to. They need to fire from the top down and start again.

We did not eat on this visit. There are several different areas. They each have their own distinctive and unique decor and menu options. I have been here for breakfast, for events in the banquet room and for dinner and have enjoyed all of my experiences. My favorite experience here has been for the murder mystery dinners. For $45, you get a buffet dinner (that comes with soft drinks, the meal and dessert) and a funny musical comedy show. You can't beat that deal! When you enter for these events, you go to your assigned table. The characters are mingling and you can get drinks. The one thing I'll say is they needed more bartenders or a more efficient way to handle the drinks because the line was consistently long. Maybe having one person for things like pop and one for bar items could be helpful. The buffet is different depending on the time of year (and potentially theme of the mystery). They always have a salad table with pretty basic salad ingredients, but also celery, carrots and olives. The entrees included chicken, fish, veggies and my favorite, the carved ham and roast beef. For banquet food, it was tasty and enjoyable. The banquet room itself is pretty standard "generic banquet room" decor. Nothing special, but the chairs are actually comfortable (which isn't always the case). The lounge and main restaurant area. Well, if you want to feel like you've used a time machine and gone back a few decades, take a step in there. It is definitively retro but still somehow doesn't feel stale or old. They often host their wine dinners in this area. There are a variety of seating options and a more upscale menu than the other side of the restaurant. The menu is fairly limited and a bit old school "fancy" but if you know that going in you shouldn't be disappointed. We had the filet and the chicken marsala. Were the they best we've ever had taste or presentation wise? No, but they were enjoyable the the portions were good. As was the service. It wouldn't be a spot I'd come to regularly for dinner, but I'd definitely eat in the dinner area again. The diner/breakfast side was more fast paced and old school diner, almost cafeteria vibe. Food items are pretty cheap considering today's food prices, especially for breakfast items. I like that with all the traditional and old school options they also have avocado toast. I've had their pancakes (which were huge, but not all that thick) and their omelet. Pretty standard diner fare. Nothing was food I was eager to come back and have again, but it was all perfectly tasty. So, come with an open mind. And remember that this place is essentially three different experiences. Just make sure you are prepared for which one you are hoping to enjoy.
