I love ordering from Outback and driving up to pick it up. Food is always good. Cook like I want it. And usually the person bringing it to my car is very nice. Today my food was excellent and so was the curb service! Aly was super sweet. She took my AARP discount card and my gift card to go inside and get my total. I told her that I would like to just use it all up and give her what's left as a tip. She explained to me how it worked. I gave her the tip of just over $5.50. and I also told her that I really appreciated how kind she was. Sometimes younger people are ruder to older people than they need to be. I get the lobster almost every time. The place was clean, good service and everything was delicious.

The service was great but it could not make up for the food. Started out with a blooming onion, and apparently the oil was not hot enough because it was just super greasy. My Caesar salad was totally lacking in flavor. French onion soup was good really good. We were in a large party and everyone got steak. The steaks were so tough that literally out of six people only one person could eat their steak. The quality of the meat has gone downhill and it just isn't edible. The manager offered to cook more steaks, but it was bad enough where we didn't even want that. We had some very happy fur babies all week. They got the steak. The staff really did do a great job and I felt bad for them because they really don't have much control over the quality of the food. If outback is going to buy such crappy meat, then they should really tenderize the heck out of it. The meat could also use a little seasoning. read more

We visit Outback about every couple of weeks particularly on Saturdays when Joe works the Bar area. I can't point to the best choices when everything from Samon to steaks to incredible burgers are all prepared and served perfectly and in a timely fashion. Total disappointment. The entire seating in the bar area is empty the restaurant is semi crowded. But not bad. I ask to sit in a small booth that's around the bar area but not the bar so I can watch tv and get a meal this is the closest location for 65 miles. And the hosts say they have no wait staff the manger just looks at me and doesn't say a word. Like there goes business out the door and I'll never go back again. Just sad. Waited 15miutes for a table then they offer us a high top one , my sister is handicap , but we took it because she said it'll be at least 15 more minutes !! Typical Outback, crowded, noisy, and you get the bums rush for them to turn tables. Although this location was worse than others I have tried, and they have been considerable over the years. Ordered the large ribeye, medium rare. I was amazed at what a poor cut of meat that I was served. It was very tough with lots of gristle. It's possibly the worst that I have ever had at an Outback. Just bad luck...well...this is the second time it occurred at this location. I expressed my displeasure to my server, who apologized but took no further action as did the first one. I did not ask for a manager, and yes, I know that I should have. After this second bad experience, I decided to try another fast food steak house, and I'm very glad I did. We went here on a Saturday. It was very busy, but we were sat very quickly and the waitress was very attentive. Our food arrived quickly and the steak was done just right. The service here is consistently good. Of course the food is standard Outback food as it is a chain. One thing of note is that the cooks do know how to cook steaks. My wife likes her steak rare and she even explains to the server how rare and each time it has come out just as she asked. I like mine medium rare and they have been just right. As most of you are aware, they serve pumpernickel bread, which we really like. I'm not sure if they have changed how they make the bloomin onion, but as of late they have been very good. We only stopped here because we rolled into town a little late and the only other options close by were Italian and it was a little to late in the evening for so many carbs. We went out back last night in Winchester and I ordered the Prime Rib, it didn't come out as I ordered it, which happens, no biggie. However, when she took it back and then the manager, of course brought me out a new one, it was mostly fat which never happens with Prime Rib. We have been going to Outback Steak house for years, but like all chain restaurants they seem to cheapen the product and loose their way. Remember bonanza, rustlers and many others, Tonight we had strawberry lemonade, tall Sam Adams with baked potato soup and side salad .Also the plates are very small and no place to put rib bones??? Entrees were Ribs and loaded baked potato and s prime rib steak sandwich. The baked potato soup was too gluey, The ribs were very small portion and way too sweet.The rib sandwich was I guess like a French dip ,the au jus was onion soup?The horseradish cream was tasteless and oddly sweet.My $15 sandwich was also so soggy because the onion soup au jus had spilled over the whole plate.Pretty difficult to eat and not enjoyable.Somebody in the kitchen is cutting corners and it shows.With this experience I'm wondering if I'll go back? Tonight I placed a curbside pickup order on line at Outback Steakhouse, Kernstown Commons, Winchester, VA, and was pleasantly surprised when I got home with my order! I'm picky when it comes to having my steak well done, with no pink. The sirloin steak was perfect! Even though it was cooked the way I wanted it, it was still nice and juicy and easy to cut and chew. The baked potato was also quite nice. The broccoli was steamed to perfection, melted in your mouth! I did call the restaurant once I started eating to give them a compliment and make sure they shared that compliment with the person preparing the food. Hey Outback, when it's an extremely busy night and your waiting area is full AND there's a ton of people outside waiting as well maybe it's best to not have your busers sitting at dirty tables having conversations with each other. And I'm not talking about just a couple minutes to catch their breath. No, two of your employees were sitting maybe 20+ minutes just not giving a crap. There were two more table right near them that also needed to be cleaned and others throughout the restaurant while many people waited for a table. Never have my partner and I been treated like family like we are at Outback Steakhouse in Winchester. We've been there so many times the servers know us by name, and we remember their names as well. We have so many favorite servers we don't know who to pick when we dine in. No matter who we pick, the others always make a point to come over and say hello. Tonight was no exception. My partner and I decided on Outback for dinner immediately after his back surgery. Of course he was in pain after surgery, but he was hungry for some French Onion Soup. Something simple. I on the other hand, wanted steak and lobster. HAHA! Our dinner was great, as it always is. Of course the servers made a point to see how my partner was doing after his surgery. Even the property's general manager sat with us while we ate, her company was appreciated and enjoyed. Beat my last prime rib meal. Best I've had in quite awhile. Cooked to perfection. Although I should've asked for horseradish sauce. Choice of two sides. I ordered only one, which was great. Complimentary bread was warm and spot on. It was somewhat busy, perhaps a late lunch crowd; however, service was prompt, the waitress did a good job! Observed other staff happily tending to customers, which is a very positive point! Decent access from/ to I-81. Good location is you're staying local. The Winchester location is a standard Outback Steakhouse. We came at mid afternoon on Sunday and it was not crowded at all. (I'm used to Outbacks that are mobbed!) We ordered a Bloomin' Onion for our party of four. The waiter brought two loaves of bread, which was very nice. He was attentive and kept our iced teas and soft drinks replenished. I ordered a 14 oz. Ribeye steak (medium) with a side Caesar Salad and a baked potato. The Caesar Salad was not as fresh or good as I'm used to having at the Twinbrook location in Fairfax. The Ribeye, on the other hand, was very good. Cooked a little more than the waiter had described, but that was OK. The steak was fine and juicy. I don't mind spending $30 for a steak, but the food overall was just not that tasty. I ordered the bone in ribeye, baked potato, house salad & a 9oz glass of wine at the bar. I was not greeted, handed a menu, or given utensils until I asked after about 10 minutes. Needless to say the tip was slowly marked down. My steak was cooked pretty well for medium-well with garlic butter topping. However, it did not taste better than a USDA angus steak I buy from Walmart & cook myself. I won't be visiting this location again, despite living 12 minutes away.
