I used to come here anytime I went to Winchester and loved it. The food was fresh and always tasty. Oh, how that has changed! I arrived at 7 pm for dinner. For a senior buffet and iced tea it cost almost $23, and that didn't include the tip. I should have known things had changed when I walked in and it wasn't clean. There was no tray for your plate and drink. When I went to the bar I had a hard time finding anything that didn't look disgusting. Everything, and I mean everything, was dried up, overcooked, and cold. There was a stack of steaks sitting on a stand that they gave you. They didn't come off a grill. The floors weren't clean and the bathroom was dirty. The dessert bar looked like it had been attacked by a pack of scavengers. The service was satisfactory. I will not be returning. read more

Great variety BUT-- the food wasn't turned over as it should have been so the meat, potatoes and fish dishes were dry and honestly inedible.Desserts were good. Wow, what an amazing Veteran's Day buffet. Despite having lines out the door, we were seated quickly. The buffet was kept full and the food was quite delicious. Thank you Golden Corral for honoring veterans. I really enjoyed the steak. One of the managers was cooking and he got it perfect, as ordered. The desserts were plentiful and tasted great. Many places cut back or limit comp meals to the least expensive, but not GC. The place was crowded, but it really didn't seem it. I had a good time speaking with fellow vets while in line. Just a quick update: We like it, and it's still a Golden Corral with all the plusses and the occasional minus. After our most recent visit -- it's within walking distance of the Holiday Inn where we spent the night -- we found the food pretty good (like usual) and the servers pretty friendly (as usual). The buffet is loaded with all kinds of food, from collards, beans and mashed potatoes to roast beef, fried chicken and pizza. The salad bar is tasty and so is the dessert bar (especially if you appreciate chocolate). Prices are up a bit since our last stop ($16 for dinner), but it still seems something of a bargain us, and we don't arrive here with the highest expectations. You shouldn't either. read more

Tonight I ordered the 5 Oz sirloin steak and it was SO tough I couldn't cut it with a sharp steak knife. Was very disappointing because the flavor was good. I needed a chain saw to cut it. I had never been to Golden Corral before, but since it was next door to our hotel and we needed to eat we went. I honestly wasn't expecting much. I was soooo pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff even with it being towards the end of the night! This location had a very large parking lot and the entrance and restaurant were very clean and inviting. The food looked really fresh and temperature safe. Even though we came about an hour before close, I saw the chefs adding new hot food out to the buffet. Our waiter even jumped in on our conversations and was very friendly. My life has changed forever from this eating experience and I would 100% go to Golden Corral again! read more

A good option for a buffet in this area. They have lots of good options from hot eats to fruits, salads and dessert. Something for everyone which is one of the reasons for going to buffet. Been to lots of Golden Corrals and I must admit that this is one of the best ones in terms of cleanliness, service and good food. The wait staff was on attentive and the food was well prepared. I loved that they have icee machines and cotton candy for dessert is a plus. My favorites were the chicken liver, steak and pork chops. These were weekend options so not sure if those are available all the time. They do offer senior discounts and children rates. Weekday prices are better deals but weekends have premium pricing, so see what works best for you. If you are in the area, come visit this buffet. Will not be disappointed. I like this location cuz it is right across from Costco, where you can get bulk groceries and discounted gas in this area while here. I got there at 7:30, they close at 9. They were already washing the floors, which left them slippery. Food was not labelled and could not identify what it was. Food that was supposed to have gravy on it did not and was dry. The bins that were supposed to have gravy in them had very little. Food did not look appetizing. I went to the dessert bar and found it to look like someone had played with it, meaning it was smeared over and mixed. The cakes looked like they had melted. The pies were just crushed. There was very little to put on the ice cream. Again unappetizing. This is a place to be avoided for any number of reasons related to the quality of the food. Service is okay at best. It's a buffet - and if you like cheap buffet's with lots of greasy artery hardening choices for main dishes this might be for you. The drinks from the soda fountain taste like they were made with dirty unfiltered well water. The Bleu Cheese dressing tastes more like mayonnaise than bleu cheese dressing. Pizza tasted more like cardboard than pizza and the steak was like trying to cut through a hockey puck. The salads were okay at best, but like I said about the dressing - it was mostly mayo and that was a huge turn off. My inlaws like the place, mostly because it's cheap and they can gorge themselves in a gluttonous frenzy. I would prefer never to go back again if I don't have to. read more

Our bill came to $32.96 before tax and they only gave me $0.50 for the discount, when I asked the Manager, Steve, said it was because we got senior buffets and they were already discounted. I went there on Tuesday 6/17/2019 at about 2:30pm. Its wasn't very busy at all. I guess the lunch rush had already ended. First off, I started with a salad. Salad bar was stocked and fresh. Except the deviled eggs. They were old, and very rubbery. Then, i got some Aunt bee's fried chicken. It was cold and flavorless. I also had the Bourbon chicken, it was ok. I also attempted the saurkraut and kilbasa, it was so salty and vinegary I could even bare it. I also tried the roasted chicken. It too was horrible and cold. The only thing that was fresh on the hot bar was the fried fish. I decided to not try anymore hot food and moved to dessert. I had the bread pudding and Apple pie. The pie was ice cold, and the bread pudding was pretty bland and hard. It seemed like they stopped serving fresh food because it wasnt busy and it was getting close to dinner time (4pm). The server only took used plates and never stuck around long enough to ask if we needed refills on our drinks. This morning (9/18/2019) I am so sick to my stomach that I cant leave the house. Went there last night and the food wasn't the best. It has been better in the past. But I saw cockroaches running around the buffet and told one of the workers and she didn't seem surprised and said sorry and walked away. So my husband and me lost our appetites. I saw the manager and brought it to his attention and he didn't seem surprised either. Told me they have been dealing with them for a few months and asked is there anything else he can help me with. I told him they were trying to crawl on the food and he said well did you actually see them on the food? I won't go back. The health dept. needs to do surprise inspection and shut them down to this gets taking care of! read more

To make this "worthwhile" you need to pick and choose. I see too many people filling their plates 4-5" high, and frankly, it's disgusting. Their meat selections are fair to poor. The steak is a bit tough, with fat and grissle. Their meatloaf is average. The baked fish is average. Popcorn shrimp is so small I think a small gumball size would describe it. Not a fan of clam strips, being a spoiled New-Englander who only likes the real deal, full bellied clams that can be had at Legal Seafood locations around the country. Lots of stems in the collard greens. The cabbage looked good (even tho I didn't sample it). The sweet potato casserole is excellent. Salad bar is plentiful and maintained well. The dessert bar is a draw with the chocolate fountain for fresh strawberries, macaroons, etc. Their carrot cake is excellent. Wait staff is stretched thin. Leave a good tip because it's not their fault that they are understaffed, AND people generally don't tip generously at buffet restaurants. Don't go to eat all you can eat. Eat one or two plates of carefully selected items and you will feel satisfied when you are done. read more
