I have never had a bad experience at Long's. My dry cleaning was ready when promised and looked like new. The price was reasonable. After leaving my item, I went to the site to check its hours; and the first thing that came up was old Yelp reviews-as old as 7 years ago. If I had not been there before, I would never have left my dress jacket there. It's a shame that those old reviews are out there and immediately pop up when you look up Long's. People are much quicker to post negatives. I hope other satisfied customers will take a few minutes to add their current experiences with Long's. Fair is fair! read more

This dry cleaner is the worst. I do not know what happened to them. I took 3 linen dresses in to be dry cleaned. They were not finished by the promised date. I was told someone was working on a stain. I brought with me 3 linen blouses which was added to the order. I am from Wisconsin and had to leave to go back. My friend went to pick up my clothes. She was given the dresses and I was charged over $40.00. She was not given the blouses. My friend took a picture of one of the dresses which had horrible stains at the top that were not there when I brought it in. I just called and whoever answered the phone was extremely rude. He checked and said he had the blouses. I try to discuss how much he charged and he said, "It is what it is". I also brought up the stain, to which he said, "Maybe I should come in myself and then there wouldn't be a back and forth discussion. I have not had this experience here in the past. He actually hung up on me. There are other dry cleaners in Lake Wales if I need to use this service again. I am stunned by the lack of professionalism and rudeness. I came to this cleaners to drop off 3 bags of clothes with specific pick up dates. When i came back to pick the 1st order up, the staff had mixed up all of the clothes, so my order that was suppose to be $50-$60 was now $150! The owner (JIM) said that there was nothing that he could do because the clothes were already bagged! It was really simple. do what was promised to the customer!!!! To top it off, one item that was needed for my trip was dirty & never cleaned! If you are the owner & your staff messes up, then it falls on YOU as the owner! He was not understanding or empathetic! He actually tried to make it be my fault because i had 3 different orders. The nerve of this guy! I'm definitely looking for a new cleaners! Long's is to be avoided.  If you need to present a clean professional image, Long's simply isn't capable of cleaning one's clothes to those standards. But, even if they were excellent at cleaning/pressing (I assure you, they are not), the way they treat customers is unacceptable. The pressing has always been very poor (every time I'd pick up shirts, there would always be a few that were un-wearable due to wrinkles), but my husband recently brought in a brand new, never-worn pair of slacks for pressing and they came back with a large stain on the leg.  After picking them up a second time, the stain was better, but they destroyed the silk lining inside the pant legs due to careless use of a pressing machine or something.  The owner got belligerent when asked to address damage they've caused to the clothing.  My husband presented the issue very calmly and objectively, but the response was an increasingly angry and rude complete denial of any responsibility. He proceeded to lecture, in a huff, about how "nice clothes" are really made and blamed the damage on poor workmanship of the slacks.  He informed us that he has "billionaire customers" with "'real' nice clothes" and they've never had a problem... it got a bit bizarre.  It shouldn't matter how expensive someone's clothes are, it's not a license to ruin them (that being said, these were new Hugo Boss slacks, $300, so not cheap or poorly made).  There's no point in doing business with someone who refuses to accept responsibility for mistakes.  He's living in a bygone era, and fortunately, businesses like this won't survive another generation.  Also, the entire premises is absolutely filthy and disorganized- we were hesitant to leave anything there the first time, and should have acted on the first impression. read more

Is saddens me to leave this review, but my most recent experience was so incredibly inappropriate that I must. I have been using longs dry cleaners since the age of 16, when I used them for cleaning and pressing my JROTC in high school. More recently I have been using them for cleaning/pressing my work clothes. Intermittently we would have issues. Clothes not being ready on time, or a rip here and there. Honestly, I did not find these to be that big of a deal especially as the owner in the employees were apologetic and if there was a tear in the fabric they were willing to correct it. Though I do think that the charged me for this. Most recently however, due to my busy schedule I have asked my brother-in-law to help by picking up the clothes that were ready. On 2 separate occasions he was given the wrong clothing items (which he paid for), subsequently the items were returned and again he was given someone else's clothing items. At no point were we reimbursed for paying for someone else's dry cleaning. This morning I went down there personally with my brother-in-law accompanying me to simply ask to have my clothes regardless if the were clean, dirty, pressed, wrinkled. I honestly did not care I just wanted my clothes back. When I made this request to the owner he became extremely angry, said that he would look for them later and that he did not have time to do that right now. I informed him that they were in position of my clothes for approximately 2 weeks and that I would like them back right at this moment regardless of their condition. Again the owner was extremely aggressive and began very loudly yelling at me, lobbying personal insults at me in regards to the quality of my character and my personal/professional ability. At one point he even got within 2 feet of my face while continuing to insult me and yell at me. He said that my clothes were not ready and that I could not have them today and that he did not know where they were. He then said that it was company policy that they had 3 months to return my clothes to me. At this time I stated that 3 months was for too long and that if he could not find my clothes I expected to be compensated for the missing items which likely range from 300-400 dollars ( a conservative estimate as there were 11 dress shirts and 4 dress pants). At this point the owner told me that my clothes did not cost that much money. At this point the owner said that he would no longer speak to me, I was no longer welcome at his facility and said that he would find my clothes within the next 3 months. Dumbfounded at this point I looked at my brother-in-law as we did not know what to do about the situation. Thankfully an employee of the cleaners brought all 11 shirts and 4 pants out, which were already cleaned and pressed despite the owners assertion that the were not. The Winter Haven site found me with an unpleasant experience with an alteration request. They held my clothes for exactly a month - three (3) requests were made for them to return my clothes unfinished. Each request was not honored by Jim (owner) and Cynthia (Winter Haven store representative). Finally, the garments were received - not satisfied with the work, but it is what it is!!! The alteration person had a medical emergency where she was unable to complete the job by the established date - that's understandable, but the behavior of Jim and Cynthia returning my clothes as requested was a major problem - with the discussion of both individuals, resulted in both of them exhibiting negative/unprofessional customer service. Finally, the clothes were picked-up where a check was granted for the full amount of the service. An hour later, a call was received from Cynthia stating she followed the advice of Jim and filed a police report and I needed to return to the store to give them cash and/or credit card. Both of them made the assumption the check was fraud and/or payment would be stopped. Again, unprofessional behavior was exhibited! An attempt was made to ensure her the check was good - so an assumption was made they accepted it who knows. Again she assured me, a police report was filed. Upon my arrival to the cleaners, I was looking for a business of such to meet my weekly cleaning endeavors along with alterations due to their posted awards. They will never receive any business from me again along with a recommendation to others! A report to the Better Business Association will be filed also - sorry I stopped there in the first place, but I will never return!!! read more

THEY'LL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN! Took a blouse with embroidery. Got it back and they had bleached the blouse (that didn't need it) and the bleach took the color out of the embroidery! but (Tim or whoever the big head guy with the glasses is in the front) told me that it was the manufacturing of the embroidery on the blouse that was wrong. He also went on to brag that he gets a million shirts a year and they've never had a problem such as mine yet throughout the entire process he never took ownership of the error, was never empathetic and at the end of the day never offered an apology for the inconvenience caused! He simply kept defending himself! This is a business owner who finds other things to blame (maybe even you the customer) instead of their business, he over talks his customers in the name of justifying himself and only sees what he does as right even if he's wrong. You should only take your clothes here if you want an unpleasant experience with an argumentative proprietor who doesn't see the error of his ways.. read more

Will not go back here. Put in 5 pair of work pants and asked for heavy starch. When I got these pants back they were stained with starch. I had to wash the pants again and press them myself. This is unacceptable and they charge an arm and a leg. read more

I have been using them for 22 years. They have always had my dry cleaning done when they said. The staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions if I have any. Parking is covered or you can park curbside. They do rugs and other specialty items but never used that service. read more

Took a pair of brand name jeans to his store Art Craft in Winter Haven in Oct 2017 for only alterations. The clerk took off the labels and they lost the jeans. They tried to give me a pair of no name jeans. I'm out $50.00 and the owner doesn't have the courtesy to even speak with his customers. He lets his employees do his dirty work for him. He stalled me for months and did not even respond to the BBB who advised he is not a member and they do not rate him. Stay Clear, there are many other reputable cleaners out there! read more
