Came here with outdoor reservations I made a FULL MONTH IN ADVANCE (I have never had to do that for any restaurant I've been to before) only to find out my reservation was canceled due to weather, but I didn't receive that email until and full hour AFTER my reservation time. Like what is this a frat house? My friend ordered a simple drink and it was legit $17 and the size of a.... small plastic cup. Lol the menu is actually a joke, just appetizers, and to use that word is an insult to all actual appetizers everywhere. Out of all the places I've tried in Boston this is got to me the worst. In a lot of ways, this is the coolest bar in Boston. For one thing, it's a rooftop by the seaport. So you're getting great views, and finally some outdoor sun time for all your pale-thighed winterized office trolls. For this divine privilege of drinking outside from a height you will pay dearly. Drinks average $15. It's to be expected though. Have you seen their lobby? And this is the Seaport. In the cooler months they put up these really pretty plastic igloos with little heaters inside, looking like futuristic Jetson domes in front of the Boston skyline. Though though the cheap raincoat plastic, you can't really make out the skyline, everything is just a dark blur outside. But you can keep drinking and hopefully see more. Keep in mind that you may need to share an igloo depending on how busy they are. But isn't that the whole point of drinking in public? To mingle with strangers? If you're in Boston while it's cold, definitely check out this place! It's an igloo bar, which seem to be popping up in cold cities for good reason! Located at the Envoy hotel, it gives you a great view of the city at night! They have multiple igloo huts that fit about 8 people inside comfortably and are best part, they're heated! They have a bar outside where they have so heated lights that combat the cold and offer hot drinks as well! But also inside the huts, you can get bar service inside the huts as well. The huts are different colors and make for super cute pics! They're seasonal so take advantage of them during the cold months! read more

Good views (even thought it is just the 7th floor). That's about it. Went here for brunch on Easter. Music was similar to what you'd hear in a burger joint. Ordered sangria that came in a plastic cup. Little black plastic plate and plastic utensils were placed on our table. -Luckily, we saw the table behind us receive their food. It came in a brown box and had a bag of potato chips inside as a side. -Essentially, these were overpriced happy meals. Canceled our order and left. -They said the reason was bec of covid. But come on, you're trying to sell yourself as a "trendy upscale rooftop" and you're serving happy meals because you cannot find a way to sanitize your dishes??? How can other restaurants all over figure it out, but you can't!? Server was also just wearing a raincoat, which was odd and not professional. Please visit chicago or nyc to figure out how a rooftop should be run. This is 100% about the experience. Besides the fact that the igloos are cheaply made with pvc pipe and plastic, heated with an old heater, and charge a $600 minimum for 10 people, I would definitely recommend trying this at least once. I'm going to rate this higher than normal, because it's undeniably unique and creative. Dined here for brunch per a recommendation by a friend. We arrived early on a Sunday and were seated with no wait. The view is amazing. Patio heaters are a nice touch as it is quite breezy up there. Staff was very friendly. No complaints there. My husband and I each ordered one of the breakfast sandwiches and the "garlic roasted guacamole". If you're looking for a "foodie" place, this place isn't it. The guacamole was just your basic store bought guac. Not terrible but definitely not anything special. The sandwiches were decent. We were served our food before our drinks. And we received our plasticware after our food. Surprised that a restaurant would still use plasticware... Wow, what a view!! I've been wanting to go here for years and finally made it into Boston during our staycation in August. We had cocktails and lunch and it was very good, but the view made our day. I have lived in Boston for my entire life (45 years) and this is my favorite bar in all of Boston. I love a good rooftop bar and this is simply the best the city has to offer. There is a ton of space and the views of Boston Harbor and the Seaport district are spectacular. The drinks are fantastic and the wait staff is so incredibly attentive and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about the experience and I encourage anyone who likes hanging out with good friends in an outdoor setting to give it a try. read more

Lookout on the Envoy hotel is my favorite rooftop bar in Boston -- by far some of the best views of the city skyline. The patio gets plenty of sunshine during the day (which is a huge draw for me), and nearly all the seats have amazing views. It's in a great location near lots of other popular spots in Seaport, so it's ideal to start off your day or night there then easily walk to another tasty restaurant. I'm always on the Lookout for rooftop bars--pun intended. In all seriousness though, Lookout does have an unparalleled view of the Boston skyline with classy lounge patio furniture. You feel ultra sophisticated sipping your craft cocktail on giant navy cushions, gazing at the peasant tourists below. The backdrop (especially at sunset) is perfect for social media, and you can even pretend to be a rich kid of Instagram, Boston edition. (+) - $15 cocktails are reasonable for the view and ambiance - I tried the Bee's Nest (Glendalough gin, honey hibiscus, lemon juice, tangerine) which was sweet and slightly fruity but much fancier than your standard cocktails. The garnish of real flowers was a nice aesthetic touch - Very spacious, with lots of standing room (and small tables) so you can creep on seating that opens up. Excellent for large groups and you actually have a chance of everyone sitting together - Efficient security checkpoint at the entrance and patrolling throughout to minimize chances of a lockdown on a rooftop - Self-serve water station - Very clean bathrooms (-) - Drinks are not really that strong - Wine is served in plastic cups (?!?!) - Bartenders can be somewhat pretentious, so expect to wait a bit even if it's not actually that busy Tips: - Your tab can add up quickly, so I suggest having dinner before and perhaps pre-gaming to avoid being broke by the end of the night - Highly recommend going a little before sunset, so you can snag a spot with a nice view in time - Apparently they have these heated colorful "igloo" canopies sometimes? Hard to fully judge this place as not everything is at full throttle. On my two visits, the main hotel lobby bar downstairs wasn't open, nor was the rooftop kitchen, so my review should be considered a draft run. Despite the limited menu, I have to admit it was quite excellent. The lobster salad was so good we ordered two rounds. The cocktails are an interesting mixology foray, but nothing outstanding. Ambience is interesting. You can't deny the awesome openness from this rooftop bar. It's well designed, and has a very decent 270-degree view of the harbor and financial district. Staff attitude is a bit uptight, trying to blend LA and NYC nightclub door policy..... which is about as fun as church at a strip club. PUH-leez! This is Boston! Apparently, according to the staff, this anal Nazi system is designed to keep the roof from getting too crazy busy like Drai's in Vegas. But I think at present it feels too much like a museum restaurant- pretty but sterile, and no end of poorly dressed, judgmental critics. I don't know if beer is always served in their cans and if $12 wine is always served in a plastic cup, but it didn't seem to fit the ambiance. This place is SO cool it's a rooftop bar in the seaport that is amazing all year a around. We love going for drinks both in the summer and winter. It's a beautiful view of the city (very insta worthy). This past weekend we brought friends from out of town and we sat in the igloos. They are heated and have seats in them. When the sun goes down they light up. You can reserve them for $500 but I personally just recommend getting there at 4 when they open and saving the money. We had no problem Thursday and Saturday doing this. In the winter when there is a line they move the line inside which is amazing. Envoy used to be the place to go, however, with more upscale places being built in Seaport, they are no longer the cool spot in town. The lookout rooftop bar is very pretentious. Two cocktails will cost you about $50 (assuming you do a 20% tip). The service is rude and the drinks are no better than what you could get at Tia's or another Boston dive bar. You are really going to Envoy Lookout bar for the view. Be prepared to stand, every section with a table/chairs is roped off for "VIP". Usually Envoy has a long line to get to the top, so if that's the case, skip and go to Yotel's rooftop across the street or legal harborside 3rd floor down the block. Envoy is not worth the wait. read more

Came here during winter to check out the igloo and it was a ton of fun. Weird that we could not have food up there, as we would have stayed longer and spent more, but that might be a licensing thing. The drinks were all good (I think we ended up having the whole menu) and it was great to have the staff come to us so we never had to leave our heated shelter. The views from the top on a clear day are great, but, I think, even better on a slightly cloudy day when you can see the buildings through the clouds. read more
