Watching the cowboyyyssss giantsssss game at Shannon's right now and it's litttyyy. The beer tastes like beer and there's a woman giving me the eyes right now. Fun vibes and normal tasting beer equals "great American bar scene".

Anywhere that I can bring my guitar over, sing with the owner, and drink on the cheap is okay in my book. Strange hours, colorful clientele, friendly bartenders, interesting goings-on, an internet jukebox (sweet!), a pool table, and last, but never least, BUBBLE HOCKEY? You pretty much can't go wrong here, if you're a fan of the local bars and hole-in-the-walls.

Solid joint. Nice game room with pool table, darts, a few arcade games and of course bubble hockey. Mostly an older crowd but plenty of late 20somethings hit it up too. Friendly bartenders. Pitchers of Coors light for $6 in Boston? Only at The Shannon!

The brussel sprouts were not good as it tasted like someone put an entire lemon on them. It was also outrageous to charge an 18% service charge and a 3% admin fee on food that I picked up from the restaurant. I have no idea why you have to pay over 20% in fees for food that you are taking to go. I would not recommend dining here.

We went up to the hostess stand and were seated right away. Our server came by and was very friendly. However, as the night went on the service became quite slow. It took a lot of time for our food to come out and to get our to-go boxes as well. For a drink, I ordered the PINA-NO-LADA. It is basically a virgin pina colada. Very delicious and they added some nice cherries on top. For the food we shared: -CEVICHE: Great flavor and very fresh octopus. Went well with the tortilla chips it came with. -SHRIMP SCAMPI: The pasta was cooked perfectly as were the shrimp that were big and juicy. However, the sauce was overly acidic. There was way too much lemon in it. I do also wish they had more than just 4 shrimp on top of a $30 bowl of pasta. -BRUSSEL SPROUTS: Was good brussel sprouts. All in all, while the food was pretty good (with some hit or miss elements), it is such an expensive meal especially for the portion and service you are getting.

I came here 4 times when in town for a conference, as this way super conveniently located to the conference center (Menino). It's open 7am-10pm daily, is always seemingly busy but always very efficient and fast to deliver orders, and has a huge amount of comfortable seating. First visit: I tried the vegan breakfast burrito ($12), a nicely designed burrito with tofu, potato, spinach, roasted red peppers, vegan cheese, and mushrooms, served with salsa on the side. Very solid burrito. The Spanish burrito I tried another day--which came with vegan meatballs of some sort--was even better. Second visit: I got an açai bowl ($9 for the small size; $12 for regular), and added vegan protein powder ($2) blended in. It came with açai blended with almond milk, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Real good and plentiful even for the small size. Third visit: just ordered a bagel with vegan cream cheese that had tomato in it, and added some spinach on top ($5.50 total). Very generous spinach portion (for $0.50!), well-toasted bagel, and an appropriate amount of cream cheese. Very tasty. Moreover, each time I visited, I ordered a double espresso ($3.50), which was excellent. Proper espresso, deep body, strong, served with sparkling water and a piece of dark chocolate.

The prices are amazing for what you get :D The menu here is HUGE and has tons of options for customization. There are wraps, salads, smoothies, sandwiches, bowls, drinks - so many items to choose from! This place is located in the lobby of the Amazon Seaport Office. I got a Spicy Greek Breakfast Wrap ($13, +$1.50 for egg white sub) and a Santorini Sunrise Yogurt Bowl ($12). The portions are gigantic and the food is fresh. The Platters, both the breakfast and mezze are gorgeous. Pictures attached. The interior has ample seating and is bright and beautiful. They also prep your food impressively quickly given how many orders they seem to get! They get BUSY but I get why - the food is so good.

I just can't put my finger on it, but it was definitely comfortable. Another thing that was great about MJ O'Connor's is the fact that the appetizers were ridiculously affordable. There were many other, very interesting and very affordable apps. I limited my drink to the espresso martinis because that's the way the night was rolling out. For some reason, maybe they're connected, they advertise their espresso martini as following the recipe of Breeca, which is a restaurant in the North End. Whatever, it had a very different taste than other espresso martinis. I've enjoyed elsewhere - it tasted like an old fashioned fudgeicle. So a little bit more chocolatey and creamy than you might find elsewhere. And yes, it did carry a kick. Add to that the restroom was within the the restaurant in very convenient.

Given the choice, however, I now prefer the modern, polished, almost clubby feel of this location in the Seaport. The restaurant isn't particularly large, but it's a beautifully designed space. For larger groups, they have a few round tables that work especially well, including one that perfectly accommodated our party of seven. You can always count on a great dining experience at any of Chef Jamie Mammano's restaurants. His commitment to the highest quality chow, attentive service, fine wines, and an elegant atmosphere has made him one of Boston's most respected restaurateurs. Our meal here was spectacular. The cocktails were perfectly crafted, and it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. Standout starters included the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, Tuna Tartare, and the Dry-Aged Bolognese Lumache. For entrées, we shared several different cuts of steak, all expertly prepared and presented sliced for the table. The Beef Wellington is also fantastic here. The sides are uniformly excellent, but don't miss the Char-Roasted Heirloom Carrots with Honey and the Yukon Gold Potatoes. Desserts are equally impressive. Highly recommend both the Milk & Cookies and the Bananas Foster. I'd like to especially thank our waitress, who provided exceptional service and helped make the evening truly special. We were celebrating my son's graduation, and her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail enhanced what was already a memorable occasion. I also appreciated the excellent service from their new sommelier. Mooo continues to set the standard for the modern Boston steakhouse experience. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I will say Service was SPECTACULAR. All the staff were friendly, accommodating. Alex our server was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. The best bite of the dinner was undoubtedly the wagu dumplings, they were rich but well balanced. The octopus appetizer was over charred, the burnt taste was the top note, making it bitter. Sadly, our mains were also charred/burnt. The steak for the steak frites, we asked for medium well, but was really charred, again taking away from the taste. The branzino skin was burnt and the capers that came with it so charred to the point of being dry, charcoal dust balls. The French fries and mashed potatoes were well executed as was the au poivre sauce. Dessert was impressive, the bananas foster can easily serve 3 or 4 people, I loved the brûléed bananas and the presentation was beautiful. Overall, there were some standout dishes but if an appetizer and a dessert overshadow the mains, something is amiss.
