The guy managing the store was very helpful! There were different items for sale and I didn't know what I needed. He explained the differences between all of the items and he helped me get what I needed for my nephew. I also learned that pre-COVID the store would host Pokémon games in one of the rooms. I think that's awesome that the store hosted games where the community could get together. I hope they resume once the COVID era ends. (Do adults play Pokémon? After talking to him, I think it would be fun to learn.) Since this was my first time in a sport card shop, I was even able to get a small pack of baseball cards for my friend who collects them. It reminds me of walking through the aisles picking out toys, especially around Christmas time, flipping through the catalog and dreaming about what I'd get. After they went bankrupt, closed up shop and moved out of every market, to see them back was wild. But, let's not get ahead of our selves here. This reiteration, not the 'inside Macy's' one, but this one, isn't all it is cracked up to be. You have to remember that before the bankruptcy these were standalone big box stores. Now, you are attempting to cram all the nostalgia into a smaller setting inside the mall. The best way to describe this, is KB Toys on steroids. They are a bit bigger (I saw another one at another mall after this stop), but the stock is limited to the amount of space they have in the storefront. It was fun to be back in one of these, but at the same time it was a bit overstimulating. They have all the major brands, but with the limited shelf space, you are not going to find exactly what you want. And the pricing, typical mall pricing. Some items were double what you could find it elsewhere or online. I was able to snag a few steals in here, but for three items, it was a bit much. I did, however, meet the threshold to award myself a free reusable bag. I hope they stick around after this, and maybe they will migrate back out of a mall setting. I don't see this being a place that would survive in just a mall setting. Although it does add to the overall mall aesthetic.
