This bar is located off Route 83 in Antioch, north of Grass Lake Road. I parked my car and was a little confused where the front door was located since there are so many entrances(doors) to this place. I met my Fiancé for a drink. He had already ordered a grilled chicken wrap which was served with French Fries. It was fantastic, complimented with lettuce tomato and onion. Rob was drinking a Miller Lite bottle while I had a Tito's lemonade. The pizza was 1/2 off tonight, however I decided to try the Brisket pizza which is considered a specialty pizza so I didn't receive it for 1/2 off, but I didn't care I wanted to try it. It was awesome it was thin crust and I was so excited that I had leftovers. The establishment was clean, along with the bathroom. I was impressed with the service and greeted right when I walked in the door. The crowd was small, however everyone knew each other since they were regulars. I will be returning. It was a wonderful experience for a first time visitor, I live in WI and this place was worth the drive. They have many specials during the week which make the drive worth it. Friday is all you can eat fish fry with a choice of beer battered, baked cod, or sea bass. I had a wonderful Sunday afternoon here. Thank you for a wonderful experience. CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES! Went on Sunday for half price pizza. Not the first time I was there for half price pizza. I get the large. I get the bill and there is a $5 take out fee on my bill. This has not happened before that I noticed. The bartender said the owner saw you order it and said to add that charge because I didn't eat over half the pizza. What the f&@":$&:@!!!!! Are you serious? Bye Loony's you permanently lost my business and my friends business that has never been there before. That fee was not posted anywhere. Or I would've ordered a small. read more

This is a typical dive bar but with great pizza & kind service! I have visited here for a drink before and it is a typical older bar environment. Not too busy for a Saturday night. We had good service as well. They do have events and specials throughout the week. The bartender recommended us to try the pizza so we gave it a try tonight & it was delicious! We opted for bacon and pineapples. It is a homemade pizza, crunchy & flavorful- I recommend trying it out! Plus 1/2 price pizza on Tuesdays! Check them out, this is a cool spot. We had a really nice time! A large group of us went after work for a celebration. We all had several drinks, appetizers and also a few dinners. The food was good, the drinks were good and (reasonable as well) and the service was excellent. Everyone was pleased and satisfied. I heard the manager working it out with a waitress to stay and accommodate our large group. It was clean and pleasant inside although outside isn't much to look at. We will be back. read more

A nice looking house pub on a busy street many bars like this long been bulldozed unfortunately in Chicago and DuPage County. This place is cool and simple looking typical of a rural bar and has a cool vibe for Americans to hang out and business like this once really dotted thev landscape. This is a pretty fun dive tavern. It used to be a German restaurant. The bar server (Amber, I believe) was very attentive to me, made sure I had a fresh vodka tonic when needed. I had a pizza. They are fresh made, no frozen Tombstone so be ready to wait about 20 mins. It will be worth the wait. I want to try the homemade meatloaf sandwich my next visit. They do have live entertainment. If I could give them zero stars I would. Place is terrible not sure how they are still in business. Especially with Covid they have no done any of the guide lines put in place. They made an outside area but still had people inside. I would never go there again. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - what a dump! Arrived at 6:45 on a Friday night to a very frazzled, frantic and unfriendly waitress who basically said they had nothing good to drink when rushing us through our drink order so we ended up with rum and cokes. Waited an hour and 20 minutes for a fish fry which never came. Asked repeatedly how much longer and was told 15 minutes. Other parties who came in after us were being served so we got up, asked for our tab which was $20 for very weak drinks and left. Can't believe they didn't offer to comp our drinks nor did they apologize for the horrible wait. The waitress with the bad attitude was actually trying to justify why other people were served ahead of us. Ugly on the outside and inside. AVOID!!!! read more

Discovered this hangout (via Yelp) after going to a fundraiser at 11am for the Lake County Honor Flight at the Antioch VFW. 4 of us family members were just looking for a pint to spend a bit of time with each other before we went home. Ended up playing several rounds of darts. A band (Mistaken Identity) happened to be setting up their equipment and doing their sound checks for a performance that didn't begin until 8pm. The service at this pub and the band were so excellent, that we ended up driving the 60 miles RT from home later in the day to enjoy the band. We had already eaten dinner at home, but I wanted to try the food, so we ordered a burger with Merkt's cheddar and grilled onions with a side of honey-Sriracha fries. Excellent! We will definitely make the journey again! Highly recommend this pub. read more

Loved this place, had burgers like bulldogs in wauconda. Tyler is the new cook and his skills are beyond Hell's Kitchen I go and order there at least twice a week. The fries are soo good in honey mustard and the burgers are amazing in size. I'd love to show that places in the wall are pretty good so definitely a 5 star in my book for my munchies spot plus it's handicap friendly. read more

Tonight was a pleasant night at Looney's. Drank, gambled and had a little dinner. Dinner was excellent. Mrs and I both ordered steaks, baked potatoes and ear of corn. Steaks were nicely charred while still keeping our order of rareness. Very nicely done and delicious! Not fine dining, but the next best thing. Highly recommend from our experience. read more

My wife, daughter and I stopped in Friday for dinner. We were looking forward to the Fish Fry. We were told to sit anywhere which we did. Service was good and our drink order was taken right away. Both the wife and I ordered the Fish fry and daughter ordered chicken tenders. Food came out quickly. The fish (Corona beer batter fried cod) was very good. Crispy, hot and tasty. Tartar sauce was also very good. Only thing that could have been better were the potato pancakes. They were tasty, but they were "distributor made" as opposed to grill made fresh on site. Don't get me wrong, they were tasty, but were basically McDonalds hash browns with a different spicing in them. Decent, but nothing to write home about. Fresh made potato pancakes get me coming back over and over. Overall a nice meal with a slight disappointment on the potato pancakes. If you guys would consider making your own potato pancakes as part of your Fish Fry, I think that would put your fish fry up top in the Antioch area. Price was fair. Only other issue was the "rounding charge" on the bill. They round up to the nearest dollar to minimize change that they need to keep, but that should not happen when a credit card is used. A group of us went out for fish last Friday. Had drinks at bar and then ate. Service was very slow getting to us, had to get bartender attention. Food was very slow coming out. It wasn't very busy, tables sat a long time unbused. Have to say the food was great! We really liked the corn bread and kept stealing it from each other. Management needs to pay attention, and get good help. Not sure if we will try again. read more

Went to Looney's on a spur of the moment thing. The owner Lisa and Kat the bar were very nice and made us feel welcome. We ended up ordering dinner, a ribeye steak special that Bubbles the cook prepared. Excellent! We definitely will go back. read more

Long wait time for food. Friendly people who tried but couldn't seem to handle any kind of crowd. Food was above average for antioch bar food scene. Not an entree kind of place. read more
