We scheduled a tour this Memorial Day weekend, but tried to reschedule it from Saturday to Sunday due to the heavy rain. Despite emailing Lord Chaz hours in advance we never received a respond or confirmation of reschedule. We decide to show up Sunday at the same meeting spot (Johnny White's hole in the wall) at 7:00. We waited until 7:45 (tour started at 7:30) and nobody arrived. We tried reaching out again via phone call and email. Finally we gave up. I emailed Lord Chaz requesting a refund because we had to leave Monday morning. We still have not heard anything back from him, and as such, felt obligated to leave a 1/5 on Yelp. It's. Our group of 4 adults took the Ghosts & Vampire Tour. We have been on many ghost tours in many cities. But this one was the most entertaining of them all. Lord Chaz' storytelling and theatrics make the tour. His booming voice makes it easy for everyone to hear, even if you are not right next to him. Many people have different expectations about what a ghost your should be. ALL the tours that I have taken have been storytelling, myths, legends, facts & occasionally some fiction. Some people expect ghost hunting and/or ghost sightings and stuff. This tour is not a ghost hunting tour. You will walk to certain buildings where something was said to have occurred and Lord Chaz will tell you the stories. We passed by other tour guides and none seemed to exude the energy that Lord Chaz did. His prices are comparable to others that are more publicized, but in my opinion he offers a better product. Really fun tour! Chaz had a lot of personality and definitely kept everyone's attention throughout. I had previously heard about two of the stories he told but not in as much detail as he was able to give them, which was a lot of fun and a nice plus. We were also lucky (?) Enough to have a huge thunder and lightening storm pass through near the end of the tour and the lightening and thunder kept perfectly punctuating his lines. Haha. Chaz was a decent tour guide, but the tour was just slightly too scripted and canned. His assistant, the girl, was very theatrical and her "jokes" were on command almost. I liked the ghost stories, though, but I wish it was scarier. Chaz did some... I don't want to call it theatrics.... but a "demonstration" at the end of the tour. A friend of ours who bartends in the French Quarter recommended this tour to us. We have been to NOLA 5 times and had yet to take a ghost tour. Our guide was Jackson and due to it being a slow week we were the only ones on the tour. It was a lucky thing for us because we got our own personal tour. I come to NOLA a couple times a year. My first time my friend and I had the luck and pleasure of getting a tour from Thomas. We've been fans ever since. We've probably been on 4 or 5 of his tours over the years and every time we learn completely new interesting things. His breadth of knowledge is vast and depending on your interest and questions, he's able to jump down all kinds of historical rabbit holes. This time we took the True Crimes tour (we've done more supernatural/haunted ones before) and learned so many new things about the French Quarter we hadn't heard before. Pure entertainment. That's what Lord Chaz and his crew offer to tourists looking for a little NOLA history... and a lot of show. A group of friends decided to sign up for a haunted tour while spending a long weekend in the Big Easy. Lord Chaz came highly recommended by our AirBnb host (and when I say "highly recommended, his flier was on the living room coffee table). After calling the reservations number and listening to the funeral march ringtone, I was sold. Cost per person was something around $40, cash, and I'm fairly certain there was a discount if you booked more than five at once. No one will ever accuse Lord Chaz of being a shrinking violet. No way. He stands out amongst the rest, which is no easy feat when on Bourbon Street. All sorts of kooks and nutballs wandering around those parts. Once you arrive at Johnny White's, go ahead and order a hurricane in a to-go cup and wait for Lord Chaz and his posse to arrive. They will greet you with long fingernails on the neck. A round of applause to Lord Chaz for his monologue skills. He's engaging and great at setting expectations. "By the end of this tour, someone will bleed." Good to know, my friend, good to know. Lord Chaz took us around to several well-known, questionably haunted parts of the French Quarter. We heard stories of sultans, "cafe au lait" mistresses, military coups, casket girls, and of course, the mysteries that surround them. Each story was more dramatic than the next and time flew by. Probably my favorite thing about the tour was LC's emphasis on the history, the culture and architecture that your average drunk tourist might not notice on their own. NOLA is beautiful day and night, but when someone is pointing out important details at night, it's even more romantic. If you're in the mood for pure, unadulterated entertainment, some vampire lore, and to watch a little blood, then Lord Chaz's tour is the way to go in NOLA. Would I do it again? Went on this tour in March '11 after checking out a few videos of Lord Chaz's performances on youtube. We had such a wonderful time and found it to be a great mixture of history, myth, and theatric performance. I found the $20 it costs to be well worth the price, plus I added Lord Chaz on facebook. This was an amazing tour! We saw probably a half a dozen different sites in the French quarter and these guys had very in-depth stories that were chilling and exciting! Very entertaining, very informative. I like that they separated the actual history from the supposed hauntings so that you could decide for yourself! What a character! Fun, funny and has a great knowledge of "The Quarter". Tour lasts about 2 1/2 hours. They were extremely knowledgeable about the history behind the stories they told, and they obviously LOVE New Orleans and it's culture, which I think is SO important when you're dealing with drunk idiot tourists all the time. He talked more about himself and his past tour groups. The vampire stuff was unnecessary. We only went to 4 houses and he could have abbreviated the stories. We stopped at Lafittes for a break. The bar was extremely crowded and there was only 1 bathroom. He should choose a better location for a bathroom stop as this was time consuming. Really not worth it overall. First took his tour 13 years ago which at the time was more focused on vampires while this updated version added ghosts. Yes, for some he can be a bit "theatrical" but feel it adds to his storytelling and makes for a much better evening. Just to compare, we also tried the the tour by Bloody Mary which while shorter by 30 minutes, felt as if it dragged on. And it was more money. Oh Lord Chaz, we absolutely loved your ghost and vampire tour! I knew we were in the right place, when we walked up to Johnny White's and were greeted by you and your, um, associate! Who I'm pretty sure wanted to fed on my friend. I was even more assured when you instructed us to grab some drinks for tour! So to my fellow Yelps, the thing about most ghost tours it that they just don't have that, how should I say, *it* factor that Lord Chaz has. First off, he's got some serious stature and commands and audience. Everyone was captivated by his stories and bellowing voice. I loved his humor and story telling abilities. Anyone can go out and just explain some facts, but a true tour guide can keep their audience hanging on every word of their creepy and murderous stories. And believe me, I saw and overheard some of the other so called ghost tour guides (a floral hippie dress and bag as a New Orleans ghost tour guide on Halloween - really??) and they had nothing special going on with their tours. Lord Chaz is the real deal. I also appreciated that he goes into the actual factual history on the location, then starts to get into the stories of the hauntings and sightings. I admit it I was a little skeptical that this would be able to hold my interest for 3 hours but I was super impressed. Chaz is as nice and can be, warm and inviting and he really knows his stuff. Lord Chaz is an 80's rocker turned ghost/vampire tour entrepreneur. We walked through the supposed ghost inhabited and vampire related sites of the French Quarter with Lord C. He's been doing the tour for decades and recited it joke by joke as if on a loop. Some of the stories and related history, architectural info is interesting. There's a lot of the tour on Lord Chaz, his history, his feelings, his life with a grand finale of him desecrating himself. With about 30 people in our tour and $20/person, he must be doing something right. But I'd like something with a bit less personal theater and more true historical info.
