After reading such negative and hateful comments I decided to give this location a try. Let me start off by saying that I was very happy with the overall service they provided. The office was super busy and even with that the girls were very efficient. I wasn't sure about my vision insurance and what it entailed but they were quick to locate my benefits and explain to me what was covered. They have high tech equipment and the Dr. was GREAT! His exam was thorough and answered all my questions. Finally, I was taken to a small room with frames where I was assisted by a lady that also took her time and explained to me the different type of lenses that I had options to. I chose my frames and was overall happy with the entire service. At no time did I see any "bad" attitudes and the office although it is a bit outdated was tidy and clean. I just picked up my glasses and I am super excited to wear them. I see perfect and once again I was happy at how attentive they were with my eyewear. Thank you to each one of you. Horrible Horrible service. I waited 1 hour and a half just to get into the actual room where you get your test. Then i still had to wait. I admit using profanity while on a call with a friend, because i was upset about the wait and the fact that i had seen them attend some who came after me. Since I used profanity the doctor new i was upset so instead of being understanding and giving good costumer service i get refused service!! AFTER I WAITED 1hr30 (i had an appointment at 10:15am it was 11:35 am) it was just crazy to me, im goin to lash out, idk who wouldn't. beside that horrible experience now with the doctor, the front lady's are just as horrible, with a nasty attitude towards elderly and disabled. Everyone there needs to be humble. Please use this review as a sign to not go there. It's a waste of time and bad service. I would rather wait 2 hours at a place with good service and compassionate people, who fix problems not make them. read more

I called the Friday before Easter to schedule an appointment for my 91 year old father. They were able to give me an appointment for the next Tuesday. The receptionist took into consideration my father's age and made sure he would be given extra time. As he was doing the tests, the technician was very patient and caring. It took awhile for my dad to understand what he needed to do and a few times the tests had to be redone. At one point they even had to call the doctor to come assist. Through it all, they were extremely understanding and patient. This was exactly the type of office that I was looking to take my elderly dad to. He was told for $75.00 he would receive a contact exam, fitting, and training. He had just taken an eye exam two months ago, so he brought his eye prescription with him. After taking the test and getting fitted for the contacts, he was charged $145.00. When asked why it had doubled, their answer to him was "we had to give you two eye exams". So basically they're committing FRAUD, telling customers one price and charging you another after the fact. Their staff should have made it very clear to my son, that he would get charged for two eye exams from the start. That they would need to retest his eyes and test a second time for contacts separately. That was never explained to him. If we had known from the start, he could have simply returned to his original Optometrist and not have gotten scammed by adults who know better. So much for helping local businesses. We'll NEVER return, and we'd strongly recommend to anyone thinking of using their business to have the price written down before you get charged double.

I was seen by Dr. Steven Lee instead. The visit was great.. Absolutely didn't have to wait a long time. It's been awhile since I last checked out my eyes. Dr. Lee took his time assessing the concerns and issues I had. It was very easy to talk to Dr.Lee . He was patient, I did not feel rushed at all. Compare to all the visits I have had with other locations, all the doctors would rush and I would be done being seen by a doctor within 10 mins while the wait with appointments would take 30 minutes. I highly recommend coming here, time is money. The full appointment took 50 minutes with less than 1 minute wait to be pre-test screening and assessed by a doctor.

That's late. I was told before my exam that my frame size could be accommodated. It could not. No amount of "above and beyond" was needed or would have changed the bad information from the beginning. The shop can't accommodate wide frames. The business owner did offer a free pair of frames (that would not fit), by way of apology. I do not want free things, but thanks for the sentiment. Original post: Dr. Luo was 15 minutes late to her 1st appointment of the day with no apology or even mention. While waiting for my exam, I told the front desk that I needed large frames and asked which brands to look at. I was told that two brands in stock would accommodate me, and that they could order anything else. After the exam, it turns out they do not have a pair of frames that will fit me. They did encourage me many times to get a smaller pair with the hope that the springs would stretch enough. Would still be too small. Since that was certainly not going to be a viable option, I asked for copies of the written prescriptions for reading, computer, and distance, to be filled elsewhere, only to be told that I already had them, and that I misunderstood when Dr. Luo told me she would save distance scripts to their system and that they had printed them out in tandem to save paper. That's not a misunderstanding. That's a miscommunication. All around, poor place.

The vision center itself is huge and very conveniently located next to a metro stop - I'm a big fan of public transit and LA traffic is horrifyingly bad, so this is a big plus. All of the equipment inside is new and modern. I had never seen a few of the machines before, and Dr. Johnson walked me through the scans she took and assured me that despite the fact that I can't see basically anything, my eyes are (somehow) otherwise healthy. The glasses selection is great, and I walked out with a new prescription, glasses ordered with new and ultra thin lenses, and contacts. She also sent me home with those plastic things you put on your glasses after your eyes get dilated. Those things are great. I will never look for a new optometrist - pun intended! Dr. Johnson is amazing and I highly recommend making the trip to east LA to have her do her magic on your eyes.
