I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They take forever and the chunky lady in the front has a fucked up attitude. I had called last week to set up an appointment because my daughter got a referral so I decided to take my son as well. So she said me and my son weren't able to be seen because we didn't have a referral but like I said I had called and they said to just do a walk in next time they need to say I need a referral. Bro, this place sucks! The last time I was here they couldn't get the prescription on my glasses right. They kept saying it was my eyes trying to "adjust" to the new prescription. Not true. It took almost two months to get my glasses. I wasted time and money. Today I called them and asked if I can be seen since I broke my glasses and they said yes, but I had to wait 10-15 for them. Btw the girl on the phone was rude. Anyway, I get there and there's no social distancing. When I finally got to talk to someone they went to the back, got an ugly frame to replace the one I paid for and gave me an ugly mirror to try them on. I couldn't even see if they looked good or not. I've been to this place 2 times and each time I've been here it's been a negative experience. First time i came to get glasses and second to get contacts. Both times they failed to call me when my order was ready. And both times I had to call to get an update and they couldn't find my orders even though I had been charged. I could forgive this but what made it worse was both ladies working here both times are so bitter and unhelpful. One younger woman with boxy eyebrows and heavy make up has a nasty attitude. The second heavy set older lady gets bothered when you ask questions about how long an order may take, the cost etc as if it isn't her job to answer these questions. I am so glad I found this place online after a Google search for local eye doctors, and even happier that I gave it a chance. The employees are nice, quick and efficient. I haven't been to an eye doctor in a few years, and I've been meaning to go because I need transitional glasses for driving. The eye exam was thorough but but didn't take longer than needed. Turns out the glasses I have are too strong for my needs and when I asked about contacts, they were honest with me that they'd probably be uncomfortable because I don't need to wear glasses all day. Walk-ins are from 10am-12 and 2-4pm, and they also open every other Saturday. Now even my mom and my husband want to go check it out themselves. My mom, because she's tired of the rude receptionists at Dr. Nakauchi's (see previous review); my husband, because he was impressed by the amazing deal I got on my glasses which he didn't even get at Costco. Incompetent doctors and staff. When I requested my prescription that I PAID for I had to jump through hoops. The first person I spoke to told me I had to come in and pick it up. I moved out of state... the 2nd person finally allowed me to fax an approval over but refused to send me an official medical release form and they tried to refuse my hand written release. Then after releasing my prescription to me, they left out critical information I had to call back and request for. Happy I can use a new doctor in a few months. Go somewhere else if you can people. Some relatives and I have been to this place for more than a decade so this is very disappointing to write. The staff here is nice and welcoming but the optometrists, with the exception of Dr. Luis Perez can be classist. My cousin won't come back here after an optometrist rejected giving her eye contacts because she wouldn't be able to "afford" them. I've never had an encounter like hers but hearing whenever I go for new glasses and I choose ones that will come out of pocket, the Dr. hesitates for a while to order them you. This place should know better, just because you are working in a low-income area doesn't mean you have to be opprobrious and discriminate towards the patients. read more

I'm so sad that I haven't been able to see the doctor here in over a year as they are truly the best doctors I've ever been to. Unfortunately, this location has gone down hill over time. The staff is very unorganized and overbooks patients. I've scheduled an appointment TWICE and I've been told that it shouldn't be a long wait due to the time I've chosen which has been 11:30am. I walked in on both occasions and the place (which is extremely small) was jam packed, so much so that I even accidentally hit someone with the door as I tried to open it. I asked the receptionist if it would be okay for me to wait outside and if they could call me when it was my turn as there way way too many people packed into a small room. She said, "if you are not inside, you'll probably be skipped." Excuse me? WAIT INSIDE, WHERE? I've been coming here for well over 10 years, I've never seen it this bad. People were sitting shoulder to shoulder and had no masks on. The situation was horrible. Truly, lm saddened to leave this place. I had been going to this place since I was a child. But, like many, life got in the way regular vision check-ups. Was glad to see that they took in walk-ins, they took my insurance, and they were quick! Staff was really nice and the Dr. was very cool. He even gave clarity about being a first time glasses user and how to progressively get to a higher prescription instead of giving me a strong prescription all together. Wow, read the reviews for this place and didn't think that they really are as rude as they say. THEY ARE! I came in and they were attending a lady. The lady was telling them about the quality of her brand new glasses that were broken and the only thing the receptionist told her was "it happens" They make you sign in even if you're asking just a single question and will laugh in your face if you ask a question they deem "dumb" for someone who might not know the process of getting glasses or contacts or just an exam it may not be a dumb question. I came for contacts and they laughed because i was not aware that contact prescription expire after a year. I was under the assumption, that like glasses, it would be two years. The lady with the glasses was rude to most people that came in. Especially the receptionist with the clear glasses. Exhaling harshly out as if annoyed. I've worked receptions before. Yes it's difficult to work with customers but shouldn't be a reason to laugh at their faces and be rude and disrespectful. Will be taking my money elsewhere. read more

Ive been going here for over four years because the insurance makes this my location the staff is nice for the most part the lady in charge who fixes glasses has a little attitude and tries to over charge for everything they make their own prices for new frame or fix lenses she also tries to rush you out when picking glasses or new frames the doctor is also nice but tries to rush the appointments and doesnt even test you right or with full attention he also just cares about money it makes sense we all do but they do not have the patients best interest i also got a recommendation by the doc for laser i looked them up on yelp and they had horrible reviews i went to my own LASIK center because my friend had it done and the reviews are excellent the doc got mad when i didnt go with someone he recommended they just care about money and him working with other doctors for making more money seems like they lost their passion for doing this if they ever had one read more
