I have been trying to find a salon that does the powder dip nails and well (that being the key). The first time I had the powder dip done I was on vacation and couldn't even come close to replicating it at places within driving distance until now! Frank did an amazing job and they had so many colors to choose from (I went to a location that only had 3 colors and they were all variations of hot pink). I will definitely be going back every 3-4 weeks because that's how long the powder dip to even come close to chipping and it doesn't use UV which is a super plus. If you haven't tried the powder dip I would highly recommend it. read more

Went in for the first time today and was really surprised at how nicely it was decorated. Very classy, young, and fun. A good amount of colors to choose from, and tons of space for manis and pedis. I came to Diva Nail Salon and received poor quality and service. I waited for 1 hour although I came with an appointment. My technician was very rude and rushed my service. My nails were left jagged, not evenly painted, and with brush strokes very visible. (I asked for shellac FYI) Although I told my technician from early on about this he told me not to worry and by the end he said sorry but that he did not have time to finish the job. The only positives are that the space is big (although there are usually a few technicians working at a time adding to a longer waiting time and rushed service) and they give a student discount. read more

Don't go here, as you can do better in Ann Arbor. Made an appointment for manicures with a friend. We get there and service was friendly enough, but the actual manicures were not worth the money. Problems: 1.The tips of my nails were still rough after being filed (leading to chipping the very next day) 2. I asked for my nails to be trimmed so they would be even with each other. Left hand nails were all trimmed down noticeably shorter than my right hand, which just looked ridiculous. 3. Asked for nails to be filed in oval shapes, some were ovals and some were square. 4. Polish wasn't "locked in" by being painted on the very edges of the nails (usually you just need to brush it along the edge of the nail after you smooth it from filing and this sets polish for a long time) which also led to chipping very early. 5. Whenever I asked that certain things be done or not be done, I never could tell if they cared, and judging from how this manicure turned out, it sure doesn't seem like it. 6. Manicure was done even though there was little bits of cotton still clinging to the edges of my nails, a surefire sign that a) the edges needed to be filed better, and b) not enough attention was being paid to the prep part of the manicure. Never coming back here. It was SO gross. There is duct tape all over the entrance area, dirt and dust everywhere, I used the bathroom before my pedicure and it was a nightmare. I just wanted to leave. I can give myself a better pedicure than what they gave me. They did an awful manicure- they made me do it at the pedicure station and made me bring both hands to one side and lift them up which was not relaxing and they just wanted me out the door. The nail technician ripped off part of my toenail 3 years ago, saying it was an ingrown toenail. It wasn't; I'd been getting regular pedicures for 7 years and had never gotten an ingrown or had any pain/problems with my toenails. I bled and limped for days. I absolutely LOVE this spa. Not only is the environment itself beautiful but the employees are very kind and talented. I have been getting my nails done for about ten years. I moved to Ann Arbor this passed spring and tried out at least 10 places. Ever since I went here this is where I go every other week. I have gotton gels, manicures, pedicures, eyes brows and bikini wax done here. And I am very pleased with each service. Awesome service plenty of space. Can't compare to the place I go in jersey but this is perfect replacement. I got a French manicure and pedicure and I loved their method of painting on white and then wiping away the excess rather than using a teeny tiny brush to apply a thick line. It made it easy to choose my line thickness preference. I also got a bikini wax and not gonna lie it hurt like hell but the lady was very quick as well as thorough. If I can give a minus review, I would! I think this is the WORST nail salon I have been to. My manicurist was this lady who wore guy's clothes. She was beyond rude. At first, she recommended me to switch the color of nail polish that I chose. She said the color that she chose would look better. Ok, I agreed. But, when she applied it, the color didn't look good. I told her to switch to the original color that I chose. She was PISSED! She cursed in Vietnamnese and all the other employee laughed. The owner was there and didn't even care or apologize. After I paid for the service, the owner told me and the lady next to me to seat in the drying area to dry our nails. No one checked on us or make sure that our nail was done properly. A very nice looking place with a not so friendly staff. The male who did my nails was extremely rough and kept hurting me and telling me to "relax". He filed my nails down so far on the side that the skin under my nails is exposed. I thought my nails looked decent until he put on a glob of clear coat. He didn't evenly apply it and went over my ring finger that had sparkles and then left a couple sparkles on the other nails....because he put so much clear coat on the polish started to bubble and doesn't look good at all. read more

I worked in a salon for 25 years. Never have I ever treated or witnessed any of my co-workers treat clients the way these people treat their clients. They DO NOT care about anything but your cash or credit card. It's one size fits all and do not question the process. You don't like it? Too bad...NEXT! If you don't mind well below average service, and a manicure that chips or peels off in a day or 2, we'll this place is for you! I've been to their other location a few times but today I decided to try out their new location closer to my house and I'm glad I did! It's huge and gorgeous on the inside. It's official: I adore the new Diva location (next to Plum Market) and I'm completely addicted to coming here! I hesitate to name Chi (also known as Selena) because she's already so popular, and sometimes my girlfriends and I even scuffle over who gets to have her do our nails. But I always see Chi every two weeks for a mani/pedi, and she has been taking care of me for almost two years now. She's fantastic - not only very professional and caring, but also thoughtful, kind and funny! She's gotten to know me better than I do when it comes to my nails - "Um...I don't think you are going to like that color in a few days" and she has always been right. I tried out Diva Nail Salon for a pedicure and I would say it's ok, but not great. I went at around 4:30 on a Saturday and it was fairly busy. There doesn't seem to be any type of receptionist or anyone to tell you what to do when you come in. After a minute a man who was working asked what I wanted and told me to go sit in the back room when I said I wanted a pedicure. I waited about 25 minutes for someone to be available to do the pedicure, which wasn't terrible for a walk in. The quality of the pedicure was not the best. There was very little if any dry skin removed from my feet and there are smudges of polish on the skin around my toe nails. Some nails are also jagged and don't seem to be filed well. As soon as the man finished painting my nails he picked up my shoes and bag and started walking over to the desk where you pay. Everyone else who had a pedicure done before me had been able to sit for a while to let their nails dry, so I'm not sure why the guy picked up my stuff and shooed me out, but I felt very rushed. read more

Not a good experience. Pedicure was rushed and end result looks sloppy. Manicure was done while sitting in the pedicure chair and was VERY rushed because salon got busy. What a disappointment! First let me say my nails turned out great but this was only after some serious conversation took place. Me and two other women walked into the salon. We were not together. I requested a pedi and a full set. I was directed to a chair and water was started. The two women that came in at the same time were asked what kind of of pedicure they wanted and they were also offered a glass of wine or bottle of water. I was offered NOTHING! When the Tech came to start my pedicure she just began with no question about what kind I wanted, which was deluxe. I stopped her and asked why I was not asked about the services I wanted nor if I wanted anything to drink. After much clarification and corrections I accepted the water and had services performed. Before leaving they took a whopping $5 off of my bill which was $112! I will never go there again read more

My daughter went there and the polish immediately chipped. She had to wait a long time for them to dry, the nail dryer directions weren't clear, and the manicurist wasn't happy about having to do her thumbs a second time. They had a promotion online, and if you booked you got 50% off of any service. My mom booked an appointment for my sister to get a gel full set, and I booked an appointment to get the deluxe manicure that same day, but my appointment was later. We both paid on our credit cards prior to the appointments even starting. When I got to my appointment the owner said that my sister did not pay for her appointment ( which it was, we even have receipts to prove) so not thinking anything of it, I just went ahead and paid what he said she didn't pay. Went home and found out that my mom was already charged $30 for my sister's appointment, my sister tipped, and I had just given him another $10 towards my sisters appointment. Terrible business. $40 for a an appointment that was supposed to be half off? Not to mention, my appoint started at 2:30, I arrived 10 minutes early, and I didn't get in a chair until 2:45. Love this place! I've tried others in the area and always end up coming back. Their pink and white nails are gorgeous! They're also up to date on many of the nail trends (ombré, chrome, etc.) unlike other salons in the area. I disagree with many of the other reviews. I've never had to wait long without an appointment. However I'd recommend making one if you're able. They rushed it, never properly dried the nails, didn't put enough coats so you could see through the botchy polish, cut my daughter's finger, left a fingerprint in the polish along with several other nicks, "fixed" them by making them worse, charged extra for matte that wasn't actually matte. When I paid with $40 gift certificate for amount of $33, insisted I pay an extra $7 in cash more for his tip! THE WORST NAIL SALON EVER!!!!! The salon is absolutely beautiful in terms of decor. However, I went there with my mother on my birthday and personally had a decent experience - until I realized what they had done with my nails. Let's start by saying this, the salon was completely empty when we came in. We picked out our polish and sat down at the same time. My mothers manicure was finished more than 10 minutes before mine... The woman doing her nails basically just rushed through the manicure. The man doing my nails was very precise in his work-- but maybe too precise. He cut my cuticles way too much to the point that they started bleeding, and even then he did not stop. It is now two weeks later, and the area where he cut is yellow and painful to touch. I have never had this problem before, and I have been getting my nails done for 10+ years, including in various places like Michigan, Chicago, Arizona, and New York... I don't know if it's the technique or the equipment that were the problem, but it has created a ton of problems for my nails since visiting that place. The customer service was also pretty rude and dismissive... The only thing they have going for them is the beautiful decor. That's about it. read more

I've been going to the Maple Road location for a few months. I had good experiences up until I went to have a manicure on February 4. I had a nail technician (first name starts with an R) who gave me her name on a business card the previous time I was there (before Christmas), so I went back to her. She was very nice the first time she gave me a manicure, but the next time (in February) she barely spoke to me and acted as though she was in a big hurry, even though I made an appointment. I then went back on February 21 to have my shelac polish taken off. The guy, "Danny" -- I think that's his name -- who took my polish off, didn't greet me or give me the time of day. I asked him a question when he was taking my polish off, but he didn't answer me. After he took my polish off, all he said was "You can go wash your hands now". Didn't say anything else -- not good bye or have a nice day -- just basically shooed me away. Because of these two experiences, especially having to deal with the rudeness of this boy who took my polish off, I'm considering taking my business elsewhere.
