Hi, I want to start off by saying that I wouldn't recommend this place because all meats in the deli are from expired food that the owner(John) tells the employees they need to use, the same goes for eggs and other items like chicken from the meat department. The meat department handles drugs. While in the meat department, they don't wash their hands and use the same knife over and over again to cut meat without washing their hands. Bathrooms are always disgusting or broken, with human feces all over the toilet and toilet seat. They have a real rat/mouse infestation that's really disgusting, running around the register to the deli; most items go expired, and people don't notice. Meat is repackaged with different labels, so the dates are different, and it is sold as fresh. While also employees using drugs in the bathroom, the smell remains even after they leave the bathroom owner(John) is aware of this and actually tells employees to do it. Produce is often left there for weeks at a time if not sold strawberry's and all the berries often have mold on them. Little fruit flies around produce. Deli staff 100% are kind and helpful and just do there job, cashiers too, produce and meat department on the the other hand change dates of meat to say it's fresh when in reality it's been repacked 3-4 times already. read more

Lorenzo's makes spectacular sandwiches one of the best sandwiches I've eaten hands down, and their prices aren't too bad. Their chicken tenders are also bomb! Especially when you get them fresh right out of the oven.oh don't let me forget their steak wedges and jalapeño peppers they are equally delicious. Pros: Local, little bit of everything, good for last minute ingredients one forgot to get elsewhere. I get the feeling they are wanting to be more upscale but just not there yet. Cons: Fairly inconsistent with what will be in stock or fresh; glorified bodega type place. Really tired of paying high prices for rotten food,vegetables sitting in the coolers are constantly rotten and covered in mold for you to buy ,food at the butcher sits in rotten juices at a dangerous temperature,open the cooler where the chicken is right side of the butcher and it smells like death,definitely not holding temp and growing salmonella, and expect to pay 140$ just to cook dinner with rotten food .. Great place for quick bite and stocked with all types of homemade foods. Like fresh pasta, dips, salad bar, sushi rolls, deli sandwiches and Parisian sandwiches. Great selection of fine meats and cheeses. Good compliment of breads and crackers to make an awesome charcuterie spread. They also have outdoor seating. Raw meat counter is also top notch. Was really excited for our deli sandwiches but were disappointed by the skimpy amounts of everything on both of ours. Like, everything was skimped on , the mayo, the mustard, the meat, and the toppings of our choice. Probably should've just bought the stuff to make our own. The chicken strips were good though. Quietly tucked behind a gas station on the way to downtown Winters, Lorenzo's may not be easy to find, but it's worth the quest. Hungry after a drive out from the East Bay, all we wanted was a sandwich. A simple, satisfying sandwich, at a decent price made with real ingredients. We walked to a bakery. Closed. We walked to another bakery. Overpriced. We drove to Dollar General. Why did we do that. We checked out Subway. $7 for a chicken sub?! You get the idea. Grasping at the remaining shreds of our sanity, we found Lorenzo's (and it wasn't even on Yelp!). I'll admit my review is biased because by this point it felt like I'd walked into a utopian wonderland of organic produce, cheeses, and *meat*. So much meat. Deli sandwiches are hand-made by lovely ladies behind the counter, and are only $4.99 each for fresh, *real* food (I'm looking at you, strange-smelling Subway buns). The folks that are shopping in the store bring small-town charm and will strike up a conversation, happy to give recommendations on what to buy. Certain items are a fantastic deal, like the strawberries on my visit, and they have obscure meats like duck or rabbit. Needless to say, Lorenzo's literally saved the day. God knows how many more places I would have gone, desperately searching for a sandwich oasis. Next time, I'm coming straight here. Enough said. read more

I've held back as long as I can from writing this review, but after opening a box of melted and re-frozen ice cream drumsticks, I'm done keeping silent about this store. This is a favorite go to when I realize, halfway into cooking dinner, I need a red onion STAT! My husband has repeatedly come home with rotten red onions, produce that has already turned, and even expired boxes of food from this store. I get it, he should know what he's looking for and buying. But the store shouldn't have such a plethora of turned food for him to select from either. Another time we were in there and they announced that their system went down and they were only accepting cash. How about checks? Local checks from people who live right down the road? Well THAT system was down too. Please explain how taking a check from me is a system and it was down? Oh, sure, you have a system that can process the check electronically, but you could also just take the check from me and deal with it later, since, well, your system is down. I feel no loyalty to a store that regularly displays rotten fruit and veggies in cute baskets, sells melted and re-frozen ice cream, expired packaged food, and will not work with customers when their credit card system goes down. Two stars instead of one because their employees have consistently been nice, the appearance is clean, and it is much more convenient than Vacaville. read more

We were pleasantly surprised when we went into the wine selection and saw hundreds of fantastic wines at low prices. I never had such a good laugh as when I took a note from a recipe someone gave me, and asked for a cut of beef I'd never heard of from one of those meals people buy online (it wasn't me!). The butcher looked at me and started laughing, saying he'd never heard of such a cut either. The banter went back and forth, until we finally decided what would be best. When I helped the family make the meal, everyone remarked at how much more tender the butcher's cuts were than those in the boxed meal. But he made the experience so fun, especially during Covid, that I'd shop there again in a heartbeat! read more

We like to stop here for drinks, snacks and sandwiches on the way to the lake for a day on the water. The deli has a nice selection of meats and. Cheeses. They have great fresh local produce. The staff is very polite. Never had a long wait to check out As a note the bathroom is a little sketch, it's in the back of the store and has a sign about cleaning up tinkle on the potty ... just really grossed me out. Deli fried chicken/strips are good especially when fresh. The bakery has a decent fresh 'french' bread. They've upped the organic lines of food/produce, now if they can up the quality control. Some days the selection is great, some it's like why bother having this on display? Maybe it's get there on delivery day or drive out of town. Prices are higher for a small town store to be expected. Staff is friendly and helpful. Store is always clean. The downside you really have to check the expiration dates on everything. We bought a Molinari Salami (small whole one) as it's a favorite we get in San Francisco. Brought it home, a few days later go to open it - it had expired 3 WEEKS earlier! Threw it in the garbage. We've had that happen a few times over the years, but this was the first in awhile, so back to checking everything before purchase. Ice cream have been sketchy at times, I don't know if they had trouble with the coolers a few months back, but crystallized ice cream is gross, especially for the higher end ones, so we stopped buying ice cream there. Same for milk that was going bad long before the expiration date. Humbolt Creamery I thought was the issue, until we bought it somewhere else. They have good products, it was ?? High prices and wilted vegetables dominate this mini-monopoly located in the small town of Winters. The Lorenzo's have prevented any competition from entering this little town board and as they sit on the town board own the only market in town or so I've heard. This is what we are stuck with and this why I continue to drive to Vacaville or Davis to buy groceries instead of putting a dime back into this place. At the least replace the veggies when they get too old to sell. I tried to buy green beans the other day and was presented with a bowl of dilapidated beans that I tried to dig to find something that wouldn't poison me. I tried to get dill today. $2.59 for a tiny pack of dill that was obviously going bad. But hey if you want chorizo or fried pork rinds you are in luck. It was Sunday and our kids were going cray-cray from being indoors so we decided to drive over to Lake Solano near Winters and hang out and picnic. Our choices along the way to pick up some grub were Nugget and this market. We decided to check out the Country Market. It seems to be a good local grocery option for the kinds of groceries that people need for their day-to-day lives, but the deli was a disappointment. First, we eyeballed the big menu board and began ordering: tri-tip sandwich, chicken tenders .... and we were stopped by the deli worker and told unfortunately they didn't have those items anymore--as in the menu should be changed. Okay, what the hey. How about some fried chicken ... yeaaaaaaah they ran out of that. Okay, how about some mac-n-cheese? Nope. Out of that too. Etc. Etc. We ended up ordering a couple of sandwiches, which for a picnic is fine, but not when you were hoping for fauncier picnic fare. Bottom line: we shoulda stopped at Nugget where they have the day-to-day sutff AND an awesome deli section. read more

I agree with several other reviews. When you go to buy ice cream most of the time I can squeeze the container; meaning not frozen! Every time we visit the market we check for the expiration date and half the time we can't buy what we need due to the quality of fruit/veggies or use by date has passed. Dents in cans and over priced as well! I am sure it is difficult to make a profit in a small town but I can bet it could be done and have standards! read more

I won a gift certificate of $100.00 for this store at a fundraiser. Small market that packs a punch-I actually really liked this store. You can tell that the sales there aren't too high and that more locals may use it as a convenience store rather than their main grocery store. That being said, they have everything you could possibly need. And some great gourmet items too. For example they had Willie Bird's turkey bacon and I can't even find that at home in Sonoma County unless I go to the Willie Birds on Hwy 12 to get it. They cut a pork butt for my husband because they didn't have any out in the meat counter. Over all I loved this little market and would go back. read more

Way overpriced. Lots of times the food you buy is expired so check your dates. They get items from Sam's club then jack the prices up. They think it's ok to sell burnt chicken strips. No no no stop trying to"fix" the fryer, stop being cheap John and buy a new one. Make sure you ask for fresh cut meat in your deli sandwiches who knows how long the pre rolled ones have been sitting in the cold bar for. I hate having to share this, however I am tired of buying expired food! Ricotta cheese was 2 months past date, potato salad was sold "rotten". Most Employees are nice, however management needs to take customer service classes. This store sadly is focused on profit vs customer service and quality. They need competition perhaps. They would bomb if there was any chain store nearby. Freezers need to be replaced, their "frozen meats" (chicken specially) needs to have county come check it out. How they get away with selling expired food and refrozen "frost bite" chicken is beyond me. Sadly it seems this isn't an issue for owners. Seems greed is priority. Employees also deserve more. Once witnessed his owner belittled an employee. SMH wish I could give negative stars for that alone. read more

Very disappointed in their quality control and price of products. I used to live in Sac and I rarely had to throw things out. Every week I have bought something and it has been moldy or inedible. This store has almost all its prices set to exactly twice the price of the prices at Walmart. Whoever their supplier is must be ripping them off since they can actually buy their goods at Walmart and have them cheaper to sell than what they currently do. I knew another independent grocery store that did just that. What's strange is across the street is a new Dollar General with normal prices and yet this store still has lots of shoppers. Other than the prices, it seems like a nice grocery store. read more
