Had reservations for 5:30 PM on a Friday. Hostess was attentive and friendly and we were seated, four of us at an inside table. Our waiter was young and very inexperienced. He was very nice and very attentive however we were rushed through our meal. He got our drink orders and after that he came back two times within eight minutes to see if we were ready to order which we were not. We did not get any appetizers and after we ordered our salads came and within 10 minutes at most our meals came and we weren't even done with our salads and not long after that our bill came. He was a very nice person, but the problem was he wasn't trained properly by his employer and he should've never been allowed to wait tables on his own without some kind of supervision. The meal; The food was OK, we had a couple of different pasta dishes one Wood fired pizza, and a chicken Parm. I tried both pasta dishes and a slice of the wood fired pizza. Each pasta dish was $22 and there were nothing fancy, rigatoni pasta, sauce and 2 meatballs and the other was rigatoni pasta olive oil and olives. The wood fired pizza was flavorless. In addition if you're looking to have some discussions forget it the place is unbelievably loud it seems like everybody's trying to shout over everybody else, not pleasant at all. read more

We were very disappointed especially being part of the Lanzi family of restaurants. Our waiter Cameron W was very attentive however the kitchen and bar was very slow in getting him our orders. I admit it was very busy (Friday night) but it was almost 2 hours before we received our food. I ordered Chicken Milanse...turned out to be an over cooked breaded chicken breast topped with raw greens....no sauce of any kind dry and tasteless. Finally got to try out Lorenzo's tonight and it was outstanding. Hubby and I ordered takeout: The Black Truffle Burrata, Veal Parmesan, & Fettuccine Alfredo with Blackened Scallops. The woman who took my order was very friendly, she said it would only take 20min to prepare (which was great on a Friday night at 7:15pm), the meals were ready on-time and very hot and fresh when we got them home. We started with the side salads that were included with the meal, perfect size and very fresh veggies. Next THE BURRATTA...WOW. It was a lovely elevated dish (hard to find in Amsterdam), the burrata was decadently soft, you could actually taste the black truffle, high quality prosciutto shaved thin, ripe tomato, all on top of fresh arugula that was perfectly dressed. It was worth every penny ($17.99). On to our entrees which we shared. The Veal Parm was the best that I have ever had, period. The veal was very tender and not pounded too thin or overly breaded with the perfect amount of sauce and high quality melted mozzarella. The homemade pasta was good with the right amount of sauce, the one thing that we were wondering was if there was some sort of mystery ingredient in the red sauce that made it smell and taste a bit like seafood. Last but by far not the least, the Alfredo & Scallops: the pasta was perfectly cooked and the Alfredo was delicate and light but still full of flavor. I loved the addition of spinach and tomatoes, altogether it was addicting. The scallops were perfectly cooked and deeply blackened, I love spicy and think the pairing of super spicy scallops with the mild and creamy Alfredo was wonderful (but if you have a lower tolerance for heat maybe ask for no seasoning). This review is for a family sized takeout dinner of Chicken Parm. Perhaps the quality and quantity of food for takeout is not the same as in-house dining. We usually order Chicken Parm for a first time restaurant visit so we can consistently compare the same meal across Capital Region restaurants. All three of us agreed that the four pieces of Chicken Parm in the order were unacceptably poor. The very thin and small pieces were far overcooked and cutting with a knife was a chore. There was minimal melted cheese on each piece. The sauce was decent. The bread provided for a family of four was a joke. Four very thin pieces that could have fed one person. The provided pasta was indeed good in quantity and with plentiful if not a bit salty sauce. Only one shared Tirimisu salvaged a $58 meal. With respect, I suggest the owners visit other Italian eateries for chicken parm and see what a customer has out there to enjoy. read more

I am giving a poor review for a specific reason. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law invited us all to a get-together for their 50th wedding anniversary. My sister-in-law asked that something simple be prepared for my daughter, who is vegan. They said they would make her a nice salad with roasted peppers and other vegetables and some fruit. My daughter also called and ask them if they could prepare something for her - giving them plenty of notice. They told her no.They said they would give her a salad and that's it.The salad they ended up giving her had only cucumbers and tomatoes. It is SHOCKING to me in this day and age that they would not be able to make a simple vegan dish. We've not experienced that in a restaurant before - most go out of their way to accommodate her, which is really not that hard. She eats potatoes. She eats pasta with vegetables. They could have made her a nice vegetable dish. A dish of fruit. So many options. And actually, most restaurants have vegan choices on the menu now. These folks were rude and not at all helpful or caring. I will not go back to this restaurant and I will tell everyone I know about this very disappointing experience. read more
