Had to try a new Salvadorean food place and it did not disappoint, from the aesthetic look on the outside to the quaint homely feel of home cooked foods on the inside. We were attended and seated right away mind you it was late evening with an hour before close. They have real horchata salvadoreña, and freshly made pupusas revueltas along with curtido y salsa de tomate, you know they make them upon order when they have that melted cheese everyone fights for at the table. My eyes were more hungry than what our stomachs could could handle. We ordered pupusas, platanos con frijoles y crema, lomo saltado(reminded me of when my grandma would maake bisctec con papas fritas) y chow mein those dishes are big and we were sharing but still ended up with take-out. The pastelitos were horrible!!! Tasted refrigerated and the flavor was not there just decided to take home to dump in trash because I didn't want to say they sucked and not to charge me for them. What a hidden gem for Central American food. Small location. There's a private parking lot, but it's sort of small and tight. The waitresses are nice and attentive. My only gripe is the menu is only in Spanish and the waitresses speak limited English, so it was quite difficult for me to understand the menu and order. I just pointed to a picture and prayed it was good. And it was!! My husband ordered the carne asada and chorizo. The meat was tender and flavored nicely. Went great with the salad. I ordered the fish filet with shrimp topped with some sort of crema sauce. Also delicious. It comes with "tortilla", which is the pupusa with no filling. The vegetable and sauce that comes with pupusa is good. Portion is big, so the price is reasonable for the size. We would definitely come back, and I will use my Google translate! read more
